Fabric Path / 801.Q tag insertion on leaf

Hello Gents
Is it correct to state that when frame arrives on leaf's CE-port which is in access mode of VLAN X, leaf will also insert 801.Q tag in original frame before adding an FabricPath header to frame?
Will it also happen with frame of native (untagged) VLAN?

Yes.

I have clearly mentioned the tiles files in web.xml.
But if i call any jsp page from its viewid... its reconising its respective tiles deinition... like below
when i call /faces/mypage.jsp and in my tiles page i have

  • How to set the default path of the tag while working with xtype "tags"

    Hi,
I am working with xtype tag, where i have to select tags in the dialog box. Everything is fine, but my requirement is set the tags path.
Currently it is defaulted to /etc/tags and showing all the tags. Instead i have show only the single tag path that is required for me.
Is there any way where i can set the root path and set to my custom tag path like: /ets/tags/mycustomtags/
Thanks for the support in advance
    Riyaz

    Hi,
Use namespaces property to set the path. But it only works with namespaces that you directly creates under /etc/tags
so for example if you want to use or show two namesapces /ets/tags/mycustomtags & /ets/tags/mycustomtags1
    then set this property as
    namespaces       string[]             mycustomtags
                                                       mycustomtags1
and if you have only want to show one then
    namespaces       string[]             mycustomtags
I hope it will help you.

  • Layer 3 config design on Nexus 5500 with Fabric Path

I trying to Network deisgn for new data Center ,  i am new to DataCenter desgin, i attached the network diagram
i would like to know if can configure my layer3 on 5500 and configure Fabric path to uplink switch
please help give your suggestions on this design

You can configure layer-3 on the 5500 series, but you need to install a daughter cards in each 5500.

  • Fabric path vlan question

Setup as shown in the attached. S1-S4 are Fabric path spine switches. Will it work ? or I need to configure both vlan 10 and vlan 20 in "mode fabricpath" on all S1 to S4 even though only vlan 10 is required in S1-S2 and vlan 20 required in S3-S4.

Have you tried looking on Github? You might a Python script that you can re-use.

  • Nexus 7000, 2000, FCOE and Fabric Path

    Hello,
I have a couple of design questions that I am hoping some of you can help me with.
I am working on a Dual DC Upgrade. It is pretty standard design, customer requires a L2 extension between the DC for Vmotion etc. Customer would like to leverage certain features of the Nexus product suite, including:
    Trust Sec
    VDC
    VPC
    High Bandwidth Scalability
    Unified I/O
As always cost is a major issue and consolidation is encouraged where possible. I have worked on a couple of Nexus designs in the past and have levergaed the 7000, 5000, 2000 and 1000 in the DC.
The feedback that I am getting back from Customer seems to be mirrored in Cisco's technology roadmap. This relates specifically to the features supported in the Nexus 7000 and Nexus 5000.
Many large enterprise Customers ask the question of why they need to have the 7000 and 5000 in their topologies as many of the features they need are supported in both platforms and their environments will never scale to meet such a modular, tiered design.
I have a few specific questions that I am hoping can be answered:
The Nexus 7000 only supports the 2000 on the M series I/O Modules; can FCOE be implemented on a 2000 connected to a 7000 using the M series I/O Module?
Is the F Series I/O Module the only I/O Module that supports FCOE?
Are there any plans to introduce the native FC support on the Nexus 7000?
Are there any plans to introduce full fabric support (230 Gbps) to the M series I/O module?
Are there any plans to introduce Fabric path to the M series I/O module?
Are there any plans to introduce L3 support to the F series I/O Module?
Is the entire 2000 series allocated to a single VDC or can individual 2000 series ports be allocated to a VDC?
Is Trust Sec only support on multi hop DCI links when using the ASR on EoMPLS pwire?
Are there any plans to inroduce Trust Sec and VDC to the Nexus 5500?
    Thanks,
    Colm

    Hello Allan
The only IO card which cannot co-exist with other cards in the same VDC is F2 due to specific hardware realisation.
All other cards can be mixed.
Regarding the Fabric versions - Fabric-2 gives much bigger throughoutput in comparing with Fabric-1
So in order to get full speed from F2/M2 modules you will need Fab-2 modules.
Fab2 modules won't give any advantages to M1/F1 modules.

    Thanks
    One more question.
According to your first post, VM FEX is supported by all N5K switches.
But following cisco document states that it is supported only by N5500.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5000/sw/layer2/513_n1_1/b_Cisco_n5k_layer2_config_gd_rel_513_N1_1_chapter_010101.html
    Switch
VM-FEX is supported by the Cisco Nexus 5500 Platform running Cisco NX-OS Release 5.1(3)N1(1) or later.
    So, which one is correct?

  • Meta Tags inserted using menu

The <head> of my template has four editable regions.
One is for the title, one for meta-tags, one for styles, and
    one for scripts.
If one of my web-editors uses the following menu:
Insert -> HTML -> Head tags -> Meta
The tag is placed in the last editable region in the
<head> area (unless they've gone into the code view, and
placed the cursor in the 'meta-tags' editable region)
Can I control where DW places these tags? They should always
to be placed in the 'meta-tags' editable region.

DW is not really smart enough to figure that out. But - you
    can control
where they go by using VIEW | Head Content, which will put a
    toolbar between
code and design view, which iconizes the various regions in
    the head of the
page. In addition, it puts a cyan outline around the editable
    regions, and
you can select the correct one to add the meta content to.

  • How does Validated Form tag insert the error message?

I'm using validated forms tags in my jsp and when there is an error in the form
the error message is set to display on top of the wrong field. This is an attribute
that I set in the <portlet:validatedForm> tag called "messageAlign", but I want
to know how this is inserted or what I can do to line it up above the text field
because it is moving all the elemnts around in the table cell. Any insight would
    be helpful.

Hard to know what the cause is  because it's like this
I know what I did to cause this. I upgraded my one of my hard drives, renamed the drive and moved the folder. The missing pictures it can't find were added with the option in the advance menu "copy photo to library" turned off.
    and this
What I did is added a small SSD as my primary drive. Put the OS and all the apps on it.  Moved my iPhoto and iTunes libraries to an large external.  Most of the picture it is not having a problem wth.  Only certain ones.  Don't actually think I unchecked tha prefeence, but it's acting like i have.
seem to be written by two different people.

  • HTML tag insertion problems

I'm new here, any forum mods that have a better spot for this to go, feel free to put it there.
Ok, here's my situation. I'm trying to write a note-taking application, which displays said notes in HTML, in a JEditorPane. I figure HTML is a good way to display them, as it supports bold, italics, highlighting, links, tables, bullets, etc, all of which are very handy in notes. However, adding all those things to the notes dynamically (as one does when taking those notes) is getting very complicated. Specifically, say I want to highlight (by changing the background color) a selection of text. I can do this fine, by inserting the appropriate tags, but when it comes time to unhighlight (all or partially) things get confusing, and a LOT of edge cases pop up very quickly. Anybody have someplace I can go to where this has been done before? I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to essentially implement a subset of Office's formatting capabilities, and apparently OpenOffice doesn't use Java to do this.
Also, would RTF format be a better alternative? I know next to nothing about how it works, but maybe it's easier to do this in it, considering it's designed to handle these sorts of things.

  • Hyperlink tags inserted improperly when selected text contains bold

This problem showed up in RoboHelp HTML Version 6 and
continues to happen in RH7 so I thought I'd mention it here. Should
I file a "bug report" of some kind?
If you attempt to make a link out of text that includes both
bold and non-bold characters, the <a href> tag is improperly
inserted after the opening bold tag <b> and causes the rest
of the current paragraph to be bolded in the [FlashHelp] output.
(Note that the extra bolding does not show up in the WYSIWYG
    editor). For example:
Here is my code prior to adding a hyperlink to "Status tab":
<p>You can filter the list of schedules that appears on
    the <b>Status</b>
tab and the list of clients that appears within an expanded
    schedule.
    </p>
Here's what it looks like after I select the words "Status
tab" in the WYSIWYG editor, click the Insert Hyperlink button on
the toolbar, and link this text to another topic:
<p>You can filter the list of schedules that appears on
    the <b><a
    href="SsVcbHelpGUI_StatusTab.htm">Status</b>
tab</a> and the list of clients that appears within an
    expanded schedule.
    </p>
Because the <b> and </b> tags are now improperly
separated, all text from the word "Status" to the end of the
paragraph now appears as bold in my FlashHelp output. But I don't
notice it right away because it oddly looks fine in WYSIWYG (by
"fine, I mean the word Status is bold, the rest of the text is not,
and both Status and tab are blue to show that they are a hyperlink.
This is not a style issue. It appears to be a bug and did not
occur in previous versions. I always bold the title of a window or
dialog box but not the words "window" or "dialog box" and they are
    frequently hyperlinked to other topics.
The workaround is to go in and manually update the HTML code
to mode the <b> tag back in front of the word Status.
    Corrected code looks like this:
<p>You can filter the list of schedules that appears on
    the <a
    href="SsVcbHelpGUI_StatusTab.htm"><b>Status</b>
tab</a> and the list of clients that appears within an
    expanded schedule.
    </p>
    kc

Seems logical that one would avoid repeating the same
    detrimental actions.
In your initial example, why couldn't you use "list of
schedules" as your link text, avoiding the HTML/RH issue
    altogether?
    <p>You can filter the
list of schedules that appears on the
<b>Status</b> tab and the list of clients that appears
    within an expanded schedule.</p>
    Good luck,
