Facebook doesn't recognize flash player

I'm have the most recent flash player and Internet Explorer, running Win 8.1. When I try to upload photos on Facebook I'm shown a prompt that says I don't have flash. I click the link, am taken to adobe where I'm told that I do have flash but am not running IE in Win 8. I've gone through the whole checklist of enabling shockwave (it was never disabled) and turing off active x filters (also already in that condition) and can't seem to get Facebook to accept that I've done everything it says that it needs me to do.
I've installed firefox to see if that would work, it gave me the same "need flash" prompt so I uninstalled and reinstalled the newest flash player. Now firefox allows me to batch upload photos but IE still thinks I don't have flash and adobe.com still thinks that I'm not running IE.
Is there anything I can do to make your product work in internet explorer?

It's NOT that Facebook doesn't rrecognize Flash Player. It doesn't recognize IE11, and if it can't recognize the browser, it won't recognize the plugins in the browser. Microsoft is aware of the problems with their new browser, but... they're in no hurry to fix it.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is... it's seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

Problem is, you have THREE factors involved here.
1. Microsoft, who now embeds their OWN modified Flash Player in IE.
2. Facebook, who has to keep up with three OS's (Windows, Mac and Linux), and more than a dozen different browsers.
3. Adobe, who makes the Flash Player for three OS's and more than a dozen different browsers.
Guess which two Adobe CAN'T control?
As I posted, BOTH Microsoft and Facebook have acknowledged the problem with IE11 and Facebook. That's where the problem lies. This wasn't a major issue before IE11 was released.

After new OS update Safari doesn't recognize Flash Player.

After updating to OS 10.9.4, Safari says "No Flash Player detected" when I try to run several of my web based programs even though I have no problem with the same web based programs when using Firefox. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.

If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select

Thank you. I completed another uninstall and then deleted all the files, once again from my computer. When I went to the website to reinstall Flash, it was a different version that came up. This time your site loaded 11.2.202.228. This seems to be working fine. I don't know if there were some files that I deleted this time that I didn't catch all the other times or there is something with this new version number that works when the 11.1.102.63 didn't. Firefox doesn't recognize FLASH after update, no matter what. Also says to update plugins but there are none to update listed?

I have downloaded & re-downloaded FLASH, but after I updated my Firefox to 22.0 it no longer recognizes FLASH is installed on my computer. It also keep telling me "Some plugins required by this page have been blocked for your protection." When I check the plugins, the 3 listed are up to date, and the other 3 are marked "research" - which doesn't allow you to update them. I cannot discern that any of those are what is being blocked. When I click on Details, it brings me to a list of "Modules bloqués" and it's all listed in French...which would be great if spoke French or lived in France, but alas California is in the USA. My Java is updated, enabled & not blocked in any way. My Shockwave Flash is disabled & it will not give me the option to Enable it; I also cannot find a way to reinstall it or find a plugin to help me. !@#$%! So frustrating that this new "update" is useless. I hate 22.0.

Some websites don't recognize Flash Player update

When I go to certain game websites to play games, they keep telling to update my Flash Player. When I do, it still doesn't recognize that I've done so. I'm running Windows 7, WP Professional - and according to everything I've checked, Flash Player is installed and running fine. You might not have the plugin for Firefox installed. Adobe has two different versions of Flash - one for Internet Explorer and another for Firefox. Internet Explorer uses ActiveX. You can check if Firefox has the plugin by going to:
* Tools > Add-ons > Plugins, or
* [Image: New Fx Menu] > Add-ons > Plugins
In Firefox, go to this link and Adobe should give you right correct installer:

Facebook hang when adobe flash player is enabled, and doesnt when its not

Just as title, running facebook will cause firefox completely to hang, untill a "unresponsive script" message pops out after couple of minutes, disabling the flash player will fix this issue but yet again would disable using flash completely (its a bypass, not a solution)
I'm not having any sort of antivirus, or malware kind of programs installed (though I gave it in depth scan couple of weeks ago and its clean, i dont use anti's anymore because IMO it slows the computer dramaticly, and cause issues.)
when the "unresponsive script" message pops out, hitting "stop script" will load the site and it will unfreeze, the message itself wont pop that often so it takes a log time ending me to task kill it (because navigating in facebook will cause it to happen again) it feels like it happens just about when the chat loads, but I cant figure it out myself.
The flash itself works fine @youtube/other kinds of sites,
note that facebook loads fine on other browsers, such as internet explorer/chrome

Best is to allow Flash local storage globally and use the defaults.

You have to run Firefox in 32-bit mode in order for it to run Adobe Flash Player 11 on Firefox 7.0.1 on Snow Leopard.
Mac: Get Info (Command+I) on Firefox icon and click box run in 32-bit mode. I think its shoddy Mozzilla support and really lame that they didn't post this.

Reader Extensions does not recognize Flash Player

Hi All:
Rather new to Reader Extensions ES 2 and have installed it on a test system. This use to work but now I am having a problem accessing the user web page.
Environment
Windows XP
IE 6 or 7
Flash player 9 or 10
Issue:
When I access http:// localhost:8080/ReaderExtensions/welcome I recieve a page display stating "This content requires the Adobe Flash Player 9 or above." Get Flash.
Steps taken to date:
I originally had Flash 10 but have tried downgrading to Flash 9 with no results.
Re-installed Reader extensions after changing Flash versions with no results.
uninstalled Reader Extensions and cleaned out the registry. reinstalled Reader extensions with no result
Note: the installation had no errors and was doing a Turnkey - express mode install
Upgraded IE from 6 to 7 with no results.
Searched the Internet for similar issues
Searched the Adobe forums with no results.
Anybody with any ideas?

I am using ES2 or Reader Extensions 9. I have tried both Flash 9 and 10. From investigation on Web, 10 should be fine with ES2 but I downgraded it to version 9 just in case.
Regardless, it doesn't work with either Flash 9 or Flash 10.
This is only a problem when trying to access the user interface. I can access Reader Extensions AdminUI. I can change settings etc so there is no problem with the install or configuration, I just can't load the user interface to actually reader extend a PDF.
One thing I noticed on my production system using LC Reader Extensions 7, in IE there is the Shockwave Flash Object (version 10) under "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer". I do not see this on the development system with ES2.
