Facebook open graph & Business Catalyst

Hi all
This is perhaps leaning toward a FB integration problem rather than BC.
But hey - it might help
I have created a FB app called Skimax Deals (although its not reall an app)
I have loaded the data into the Skimax Social part which enables me to add the FB like module
I have added one tag to one page and created it on a test template with the og meta data meaning it is specific
Mostly - it is working well.
And I love that it is posting controlled content to FB

and sharing ends up perfect on FB
Liking however is different
There are 2 issues
1. The description is not making its way to the LIKE
2. The app is genrating a URL string which i dont want as my old dev from 4 years ago made the menu work based on the page URL

<tt>prefix</tt> is not an HTML atttribute: it is part of RDF (which I haven't got my head round at all). However I get the same error on apex.oracle.com using
<head class="foo"><tt>class</tt> is one of the HTML global attributes permitted on the <a href="<tt>head</tt> element, so this is definitely a parsing bug in APEX.
Couple of possible workarounds:
<li>In the examples in RDFa spec the <tt>prefix</tt> occurs in the <tt>html</tt> element, which APEX 4.1 will permit.
<li>Add the <tt>prefix</tt> to the <tt>head</tt> element using a Dynamic Action/JavaScript on page load.
You might try these and see whether they are compatible with whatever Facebook is doing.
Please include the following information when posting a question (especially if it might be a bug):
<li>Full APEX version
<li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
<li>Browser(s) and version(s) used

Problem Editing HEAD tag for Facebook Open Graph

In order for pages to play nice with some of the new Facebook features they can add meta tag content to identify the page as a specific "object" in the Facebook Graph.
The problem is they ask you to add some namespace information as an attribute in the head tag and when I try to put anything in the actual tag itself I get an error:
Header must contain <head> and </head> tags.
I'm attempting to make the head tag look something like this:
<head prefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns# fb: http://ogp.me/ns/fb# my_fb_app: http://ogp.me/ns/fb/my_fb_app#">
I have an end tag for head, I just thing the validation fails if you put anything in the head tag itself.
Any ideas?

Can't acess my Business Catalyst websites

Http/1.1 Service Unavailable
This is the error i'm getting whenever i try to open a business catalyst website. I can't open the dashboard also...

Since the BC.Next update (which I'm told is now completed by chat) has effect how parts of my site display.
Previous to the update I was able to render variations of my 'blogpostlist' in various parts of my site with different layouts using template="/.." in the new module tags for my client's blog.
Now these types of modules:
{module_blogpostlist,10583,1 template="/Layouts/Blog/dwm-bloghome.html"}
No longer renders the "dwm-bloghome.html" template. Instead it is using the default blog layout "postlist.html"
I've tried to sort this out with chat but with no success. First I was told to wait for the BC.Next update to complete and check back on the BC Status page to find out it was done. After four hours I asked chat again what the ETA was (since parts of my client's site are messed up because of this.) This time i was told it was complete and they don't post completion times for events since there was no client impact. Of course there is but they don't seem to believe me. When I explained the impact I was then told BC.Next is a beta feature and not supported. Basically, no help.
I'm venting since I'm looking for help on a BC issue that is out of my control but no one at BC seems interested in helping or interested to know that a previously working feature is no longer working.
Are you aware of any issues with the new rendering engine causing problems with custom templates defined in module tags?

Where can I get the Dreamweaver CS 5.5 extension for Business Catalyst?

I have CS 5.5 on windows 7, and am starting my Business Catalyst account, but also want to integrate with Dreamweaver.
When I open my Business Catalyst panel in DW and click the "Get Extension" Button, I get a "Page Not Found".
I have searched Adobe support, and Exchange, but can't seem to locate it.
Is it still available?

Can't Login to Business Catalyst within Dreamweaver CS6

As my name implies, I am quite new to this stuff and learning as I go.
I am trying to login to the Business Catalyst panel in Dreamweaver CS6. When I click the login button on the panel, nothing happens. I doesn't ask for a password or anything. The button just doesn't do anything.
I just recently purchased a Creative Cloud Subscription. I had Dreamweaver before purchasing Creative Cloud, and the Business Catalyst account I am working with is owned by my employer. I was able to login to the Business Catalyst panel in Dreamweaver before getting Creative Cloud.
I am able to access the remote server for the site just fine.
I also tried to re-import the Business Catalyst site in Dreamweaver. When I click the import button, a blank window pops up, then dissappears. That's it.
The same thing happens when I attempt to create a new Business Catalyst site.
Any suggestions would help, please. Thanks!

Okay, just had the same issue and found where the problem is and how to workaround the problem (bug has been reported).
The scenario Adobe didn't cover is when you have already logged in to Business Catalyst via Dreamweaver CS 6 and saved your password. The extension keeps you "logged in" with that username and password until you logout. So if you have changed your login details online with Business Catalyst. You must come back into Dreamweaver, go to Windows and open the Business Catalyst Window and logout, and then login again now with your new credentials. The ability to see your sites for importing will show up again. I have told Adobe that they need to check if the login credentials don't match, that instead of saying "There are no sites to be found" it needs to say that the login credentials don't work and prompt the user to add the credentials again in the Business Catalyst Side Panel Window (which by default is now undocked from the side panel).
The challenge I am looking for, is to allow multiple administrators to be able to use their respective Business Catalyst login account to access the same site.

Business Catalyst and Facebook problem

I have seen threads on this subject as well as the articles, but I am not certain the problem was answered. I have added a Facebook "like" button to my Large Product Display (and the button works). The large product display has several upsell/cross-sell items on it.
When I am testing it, I go to my FB page and look to see that it has indeed been posted. However, 2 problems show up.
1. The photo shown is not the main item, but one of the upsell/cross-sell items.
2. The descriptive text is using my footer text as the description.
Where did I go wrong?
I want to use the main photo and the product description (both of which are in the product's information). Is there a modifcation I can make to the module? Is something else needed?

For this you would use the Open Graph Tags, in this case the < og:image > and < og:description >. These are going to be Meta tags you will place in your Large Product Layout, using the image and description tags as the Meta content. Then when the page is loaded BC will place these into the head tag of the website.
Something like this:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://yoursitehere.com/{tag_imagepath}"/> //relative path might work, i tested a absolute path
<meta property="og:description" content="{tag_description}"/>
Another option is to use custom fields to populate these values.

I am not able to share a blogpost image on facebook using the open graph meta-tag for the blogpost image.

When i like the blog-post, the share-box pops up BUT without the blog image.
I put the link in the debugger window from Facebook, but it tells me that the open graph tag for a image is not proper defined.

I dont know how i must specify the URL to be liked on facebook.
My blog-list url = http://www.duvanduvan.com/blog BUT i have to specify the url for a single blogpost item, but have no idea what to specify. i tried different url's like : duvanduvan.com/blog/{tag_itemurl} etc.... with no result

How to use open graph tags in muse to show facebook share images

i am trying to use a facebook share button. i would like to have a preview of the image in the story i want to have shared.
i know that it has to do with open graph tags. i am unsure of how and where to add these og tags to my muse program to have the preview of it show in the share window

I don't think this is possible in Muse, however, if you're at all comfortable editing your HTML file, then you can add the tags after they're uploaded to your host.
Just log into your host and through file manager, find your index.html file. Open it for editing.
Anywhere between the <head> and </head> tags, enter the following code:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://www.yourdomain.com/imagename.jpg" />
Then you should go to the Facebook Debugger https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug and enter your website URL to make sure Facebook is showing the image you want.

Business catalyst won't open in dreamweaver

When I click the Get Started button or try to open a New Business Catalyst site from the site menu, the dialog box flashes but nothing else happens. I can open it on my other computer, but on my laptop. it's not working. Is there a setting I need to fix or something?

3. Re-activate the DW
You should be able to connect to BC from DW now.

Business Catalyst will not open in CS6

I am just about frustrated with trying to get BC opened up in CS6. I have a x64 Windows 8 operating system and have CS6 Dreamweaver installed. When it opens, I click under "Create New" Business Catalyst Site.... Once I do that a dialogue box opens up that says Business Catalyst on the title bar but the box is white and then disappears. This just does that over and over when I click on it. On the right side where it has the Business Catalyst tab it says "Get Started" and that button does absolutely nothing. Everything else works when I click it but anything related to BC will not work at all. Please help!

Dreamweaver cc 2014.1 will not open the html files from my business catalyst site

I just imported my business catalyst site (originally built with Muse) into dreamweaver. the whole site downloaded as expected and dreamweaver maintains that the 2 folders have the same files. When I click to open any file in Dreamweaver it appears to open and then close the file immediately giving no indication of a problem.
Anyone come across this and or have any idea what could be happening? I can open these files in Text Wrangler.
I have followed the steps of deleting preferences etc that I have come across in my search today. None of those helped.
Files from other sites seem to be opening fine.

The only files I am encountering this issue with are the ones I downloaded from BC into a brand new folder. Further, any new files that I create in Dreamweaver and then save to the local root folder of the site I downloaded from BC will no longer open after I close them. I can open all of the files I downloaded from BC in text wrangler with no problem. I have about 10 other sites I am having no issues with what so ever.
I am considering this an isolated issue between Dreamweaver and the folder that I imported my BC site to as I have never had any other issue with using Dreamweaver.

Integrating an Open Graph/Facebook App on my website

I've uploaded my site to business catalyst and getting complaints of the site not opening

I have uploaded my portfolio site garymartindesign01.businesscatalyst.com and am getting complaints that my site isn't opening.
I have experienced slow load times, especially in Chrome, whereas Firefox loads somewhat quicker, but still very slow.
My question is is it my content, Muse, or business catalyst that is causing the non/slow-load times?

I strongly encourage using YouTube, Vimeo on another third party service. While it's possible to encode your own video files and host them, you'll won't come close to the cross browser consistency, cross browser performance, cross device performance, variable sizing, optimal download/play performance, etc. of YouTube, Vimeo or a similar service with a self-hosted solution.

Adobe business catalyst panel in dreamweaver cs6 doesnt open

Hello everyone.
I am having some problems whith my business catalyst panel in dreamweaver cs6 for windosw8.
The panel doesnt open wen i click the "get started" or "mport bc website" button ,just a blank pop up window apears for 2 seconds and then it disapears again.
