Facebook videos not playing on iPad Air(safari browser)

Why do my Facebook videos not play in iPad Air(safari browser) but same video play nicely on iPhone 4(safari browser). It asks me to download flash player to play on iPad but plays fine on iPhone without giving any prompt to download flash player.

You should not have trouble playing using the FaceBook app.

Hi guys.
I have had an issue with safari for a while where facebook videos (i.e. flash) won't load. there's just a black space where the video should be. I tried uninstalling flash, resetting safari etc. to no avail. I gave up and used chrome instead which works fine.
Yesterday I bought a nice shiny new retina macbook pro and when I first booted it as it was downloading yosemite, the videos worked fine in facebook once I downloaded flash. Now I have transfered all my settings/apps/files etc from the time machine backup, the videos have stopped working. I have uninstalled everything adobe, reinstalled flash only, gone into the library and deleted the safari files etc. and this has had no effect (other than my frustration levels).
I have tried the delete all option in the flash settings, and the videos didn't work when I didn't have chrome installed.
Can any one help? It's pretty irritating....

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

Compressed videos not playing in IPAD

Hi,
I am using flash professional cs6 .my project is depends upon Multimedia.mainly my Application for iPad.
I am using some videos which are in .flv . Those flv files are too large so that i compressed all videos and loaded into my application.After building application those compressed videos are playing fine in my application.
But after published my application into .ipa file. and installed in IPad.but videos are not playing.
Please if any faced this problem suggest me.
I have done In My application with Videos
1.Compressed all videos into .MP4
2.Runed my application and tested ,Status: All videos are playing good
3.Published my App into .ipa
4..ipa file installed in IPAD, Status: Videos are not visible

Please post the codec details of your videos. MP4 is a container that supports a variety of audio and video codecs. Chances are you may have used a codec iPad doesn't support.
All my MP4s for iPad are using good old MainConcept H.264 for video and AAC stereo for audio. All playback is fine. Are you using something like x264 or something non-H.264?

Facebook videos not playing in firefox. IE plays them fine, also no problem with youtube videos in firefox.

Facebook videos are not playing in firefox, it plays youtube videos fine. The fb videos start to load and after that just a black screen remains.
No such issues in IE, I've no addons installed, flash player is latest, and tried by enabling/disabling the block popups option.

You can try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

IPad air safari browser not working properly

Ever since my last update to 8.1, the safari browser on my iPad air 16 Gb has had problems responding. I can search but the links in the search results may or may not respond. Sometimes the links work and sometimes they don't. I have tried closing all the open windows and clearing the safari history and website data. The problem does not go away. Has anyone found a fix for this problem?

Close all Inactive Apps
1. Double-click the Home button to see all Inactive Apps
2. Hold the Apps down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close App
4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo

Facebook Videos not playing

Since updating to 4.3 for some reason I can't play any videos from facebook. When I click on a video the Movie app launches but then it just continuously says Loading Video...
I've tried doing a factory reset, clearing cache of facebook and movies. I've uninstalled all facebook updates and tried the latest beta version but nothing seems to be doing the trick.
Anyone had similar issues or any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
To check if this is some kind of combo issue bewteen the movie app and Facebook try downloading any other media player from Google Play store and chose to launch the Facebook videos using that one. See if the same problem appears.
If yes it's probably an issue with the network (mobile or Wi-Fi) or the Facebook app.

Embedded MP4 videos not playing in iOS Safari

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with embedded MP4 videos (e.g. YouTube videos) not playing correctly in Safari. When I try to play one, I get one of two problems:
1. On my (first gen) iPad, Safari usually crashes.
2. On my iPhone 4, videos will load but only play audio, not video, though when I tap on the screen the "play" and "pause" symbols appear.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Or know how to fix it?

Ok, I fixed it. Go to some embedded Flash video, click to run and then right click to get Global Settings for Flash. Go into Storage and make sure you aren't blocking any data from being stored on your computer. At the very least choose the "ask me" setting. (For good measure I also went into Advanced and clicked to Delete All Data associated with Flash. But when I restored Block for data storage the videos stopped working, so that seems to be the answer.) I'd be interested to hear if this works for others.

Yeah strange isnt it? I just tried it with my wife's 5C iOS 8.1.2 and it works perfectly and my lads iPad mini 3 is perfect too. It's just my iPhone 6,I have tried everything resetting network settings, hard reboot, remove/reinstall app, different updates of FB app. I am now leaning towards a full factory reset of i6 does anyone else have a clue as to why just the iPhone is affected?

Html5 video not working on iPad

Hi,
Anyone any ideas why a video embeded in a web page with html5 doesn't work on iPad, it's fine on iPhone and MacBook Pro, safari, Firefox and chrome, just not playing on iPad?

What's the source of the video? That is, how are you serving it out?
I have html5 m4v files working on iPad from a simple "pubpages" server provided by my institution. But, when I try using a MacMini server with 10.7 server software (https - self generated certificate), I get good desktop results, but no ipad (ios 6).
Also, what html code are you using to call up the video?

On my iPad Air , Safari crashes and quits when I view a slideshow on an internet site. Sometimes it doesn't crash but the slideshow is freezes. Any idea why?

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

TS1702 Facebook will not open on iPad

Facebook does not open on iPad -goes to white screen and then closes.

My machine is OK Its my mother in-laws that has the problem as the beginning of this thread.
I don�t have an answer but this is what I have done...
Cleared all cashe and cookies i safari
Did a reset by holding the power button and end button at the same time
Uninstalled and reinstalled facebook
Installed facebook "friendly" (and this allows you to open and see facebook without the need to do it through safari)
I did all of the above and STILL CANNOT open face book by clicking on the app button. It appears as though it is locked up somehow. There is also a game on her device that does and it runs in the back ground of facebook.
I may try uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

Try deleting the cache and cookies for YouTube.
