Failed exporting db from W2K to Solaris

I'm tring to import my DB (8i) from windows to solaris.
When I exported it in windows the charset was WE8ISO8859P1 and WE8ISO8859P1 NCHAR.
Now when trying to import obtained dmp file in unix I got following error:
Export file created by EXPORT:V08.01.07 via conventional path
import done in US7ASCII character set and US7ASCII NCHAR character set
IMP-00069: Could not convert to environment national character set's handle
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
how can I avoid this error?
Is there a way to convert charset?

What is the setting of your nls_lang on the Windows workstation? You may have to temporarily change it to WE8ISO8859P1 when you run the export.

The conversion between the character sets on the two servers are handled automatically. Export from one server will export the data given the character set defined on that server. Import into another server will import the data given the character set defined on that server, performing a conversion if necessary. This can be a problem when going from single-byte to a multi-byte character set. In your case, the warning is simply for your information, shoule be no real problem given the character sets you're using.

I am trying to Export Data from FDM to HFM and clicked "Export" option and getting below error.

PROBLEM IN EXPORTING DATA FROM A RELATIONAL TABLE TO ANOTHER RELATIONAL TAB

While trying to export data from a source table to a target table, problem occurs with loading the data in the work table(SrcSet0)[As shown in the operator]. Error while exporting data from HCM to VDS

Hi,
When i am trying to export data from the SAP HCM system using the RPLDAP_EXTRACT, the export fails and the log shows that the LDAP_CREATE failed. In the VDS log,
com.sap.idm.vds.oper.main_listener Message:
Exception on add: class java.lang.Integer:null incompatible with class
java.lang.String:null
I verified the database connectivity from VDS to IDS when seems fine since the LDAP_SEARCH is working fine.

What kind of data you are looking to move?
Database export/import is only supported for full database export/import and the application release should be the same on the source/target nodes.
You can move the setup using iSetup or FNDLOAD.

Issue to export data from sql to excel

I have MS SQL 2008 Developer version and visual studio 2008. I'm using SSIS Import and Export Wizard on the VS2008 to create a simple package to export data from a table using a sql query to excel file (.xlsx), but I got the following
error messages:
[Destination - Query [37]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21.
[Destination - Query [37]] Error: Cannot create an OLE DB accessor. Verify that the column metadata is valid.
[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "Destination - Query" (37) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202025.
The SQL query is

Or another way is to save the package created by Export Import wizard, open it in BIDS and add a Derived column task before the Excel destination to do explicit casting of the columns to your required unicode datatypes.

No response when export EXCEL from Mapping in FDM

Dear All,
I am using FDM 11.1.1.3. And, install as usual.
I cannot export Excel from Mapping in FDM.
The screen is just keep waiting for long long time.
How to fix it? Thanks for all.

We did have a bug in older versions of smartview where it was not possible to deinstall it. Smartview was removed but any attempt to install a new version failed. This was because Smartview creates a Registry entry in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer
and adds the key
C:\DOCUME~1\USERNAME\LOCALS~1\Temp\_is3EA\
which then prevents any newer version of SmartView to be installed
I looked on my machine and the is3EA file does not exist, however there is an installer file called isA.exe
The registry entries for smartview are found under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions\Hyperion Smartview - maybe you could try deleting these entries? --> solution works.

We have a user essadmin in 9.2.0.0 but not in 9.3.1.
Since we already have a user called admin in 9.3.1, I deleted user admin in export.csv file and tried to import again.
The 9.3.1 ImportExport utility did not like the newly updated export.csv file

QT Pro Movie to iPod: failed export process terminated unexpectedly (11)

Cannot seem to find the answer why this is happening. Trying to Export... "Movie to iPod" in QT Pro and I get the error "failed export process terminated unexpectedly (11)". I got 1 video to work, 5 have failed. No rhyme or reason..
Any ideas?

As per this thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7115716) about QT Pro not playing nice with a muxed source, I downloaded MPeg Streamclip 1.9.2 from here, http://www.pure-mac.com/downloads/mpegstreamclipdl.html, Exported to QuickTime from within MPEG Streamclip using identical settings to the source (minus the mux), and then was able to export from QuickTime with no problems. It's by far no solution, but it's at least a workaround of sorts.

I have about 800 small 50MB Quicktime movies. I'm trying to compress them (Export) to a more manageable size of 5MB. I have success on about half of my Export attempts. However, I am getting an error on the other half. That error is:

Any suggestions?
I only have 1 plug in in my Quicktime Library Folder. I have tried taking that out with no help.

I have about 800 small 50MB Quicktime movies. I'm trying to compress them (Export) to a more manageable size of 5MB.
Basically your goal is a 10:1 reduction in file size. Since the file size is directly proportional to the data rate, we need to cut your data rate by a factor of 10. Since the sample file you sent had an average data rate of 1875.11 Kbps, our target data rate will be on the order of 187 Kbps. As you did not place any restrictions of the file compression format, I would normally convert to an H.264/AAC file. also, as you did not give a specific conversion application, I will use MPEG Streamclip which is free and allows batch processing -- something you may wish to consider using if you plan to attempt to convert all 800 files.
A quick check of the QT "Properties" window, determined that your original file contains Apple Video compressed video and Integer (Big Endian) compressed audio and that the audio track is three times the size of your video track. So the first step is to select our audio settings. Apple normally uses a 44.1 KHz sampling rate and 128 Kbps (64 Kbps per audio channel) for movies, I took the liberty of using a 32 KHz sampling rate at 32 Kbps for a mono channel voice narration and thus reduced your audio data rate from 1411.48 Kbps down to approximately 32 Kbps. Subtracting the 32 Kbps from our target of 187, we find we can use about 155 Kbps for our video data rate and still achieve our goal.
The next step was to test the video requirements for your particular source video by simply making a sample conversion of the Apple Video codec to the H.264 video codec without setting any specific video data rate limitations. Turns out that your Apple Video source quality is so low and the efficiency of the H.264 code is so high that it only require about 95 Kbps to convert the video. And, since using a higher video data rate of 155 Kbps will not improve the quality, there is no need to limit the video data rate at all.
Based on the our observations to this point, it appears that we can convert your original file to an H.264/AAC compressed file with a total audio plus video data rate of only 127 Kbps which is well below our preliminary 187 Kbps target. Thus when I actually converted the 18.15 MB sample file you provide, it was reduced to only 1.23 MBs which yielded an actual net file size reduction of more than 93% for this particular file. Based on this, it would appear that you can, in fact, achieve the 90% average file size reduction you originally wanted for any file that you can convert. Unfortunately, I do not know if this was one of your "problem" files or not.

Sorry but your iPhoto library is not on an iPad or iPod - you may have photos there (most likely low resolution copies) but not an iPhoto library - dying computers (along with software and human errors) are why you always must have a backup - now is the time to load it

Can not export data from form tracker

Hi there,
I have set up a lovely form for collecting data. It all comes into the Adobe Tracker and the Responses file fine.
What i wish to do is export data from the responses file into another format. I should be able to do it from the Export button on the left but it is 'blanked out' and does nothing if I push it. I can't find any details on here or the internet relating to this. And yes, there is data in the file to export .

One of them allows me to export the data and the other does not.

Oracle Server 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit fails when invoked from InstallShield

I'm trying to install the Oracle Server 11.2.0.1.0 64-bit on Windows 2008 SP1 from the InstallShield 2010.
The installation is silent. Invoked by command line:

However, when the same command is invoked from under the InstallShield, the installation fails on Architecture requirement check:

The questions:
1. Why the requirement checks give different results when installation is invoked from CMD and from InstallShield?
2. Why the requirement checks are done despite the parameters "-ignoreSysPrereqs" and "use_prereq_checker=false"?
3. What should I do to get the installation pass (either remove the check or make it satisfying)?
PS. The 32 bit Oracle Server installation on Windows 2003 works without problem when invoked from InstallShield.

Please use 2008R2 if you want to install 11gR2 versionThank you for that update. Possibly it will help me to solve another trouble.
Regarding the problem I described, the issue is that I install Oracle Client 32 bit prior to trying to install Oracle Servier 64 bit.
The Oracle Client setup had started RemoteExecService.exe 32 bit process. And the process remained running after the installation completed.
The Oracle Server setup utilizes the running RemoteExecService.exe process. Since the process is 32 bit, the architecture requirement check had failed.
I've added to my script killing the process
taskkill /F /IM RemoteExecService.exe
before invoking the Oracle Server installation.
That way the Oracle Server setup starts another RemoteExecService.exe process and the new process is 64 bit.
The architecture requirement succeed.
