Failed to create a "hello world" ANA XS Application

hi,
I am following the steps in SAP HANA Cloud Platform and was really frustrated because I just cannot continue and this is only the first hello world application.
I cannot follow each step there, because some of the steps are not possible for me, especially "5. Create an XS Project" . (I am using Kepler with HANA plugins, someone from SAP should look at the documentation really).
I was trying to activate the project but I got errors:
Repository request failed. Cause: Repository: User is not authorized to execute specified operation;User 'DEV_E5O83YOZZLR2ODBJUVPEL1UYE' has no authorization, privilege: 'REPO.EDIT_IMPORTED_OBJECTS', package: 'hello'!, code: 40.156, argument:
Can someone help me here? Thank you.
Regards, Yashu

>Could you provide a detailed description, considering it is the first time HANA XS developer, who wants to create a hello world app?
For what part?  You could just use the Web-based Development Workbench (/sap/hana/xs/ide/editor) instead of the Studio. In the Web IDE you don't create projects. Instead you see the repository and just directly create/edit objects. Otherwise the tutorial should largely be the same.
>When do we expect a fix? This bug was there since at least 2 weeks.
I have no information as this issue will likely have to be resolved by changing the roles specific to the HCP trial landscape.

    I tried the following workarounds but not much of help:
    1) Tested the database connection in my jdeveloper which showed sucess !!
    2) In the run time connect dialog box, I have used FND as application short name and APPLICATION_DEVELOPER as responsibility key
    3) I reviwed all the steps in the document
    4) I checked if the DBC file is the correct one.
    It would be great if anyone of you can suggest some options or if the issue resolution. I am still doing research on this.

    Hi,
    I have followed the oaf development dccument for developing a custom page. I followed everything the exact way mentioned in that document till the creating of the MainRN Region and then I am trying running the page from JDEV by clicking on the xml page and it returns the following:

  • Create and add CUSTOM Hello World cartridge in CRS in Oracle Commerce 11.1

    I am working on a CRS based application. I went through the code in Assembler Development Guide for creating Hello World template in Discover. But i m not able to create a Hello World template similarly for CommerceReferenceStore. Please guide me on how ?

    I do not have much experience in creating cartridges and get data from inputs on XM, but I believe you have to fix your xml and run a set_template again.
    Like This:
    <Property name="welcomeMessage">
             <String>MyCustomMessage</String>
    </Property>
    In your Java alter this line helloWorldItem.setWelcomeMessage...
    to
    public HelloWorldContentItem process(ContentItem pCartridgeConfig) throws CartridgeHandlerException {
        HelloWorldContentItem helloWorldItem = new HelloWorldContentItem(pCartridgeConfig);
         if (helloWorldItem.getWelcomeMessage() != null)
             helloWorldItem.setWelcomeMessage(helloWorldItem.getWelcomeMessage());
        return helloWorldItem;
    Maybe works =].
    But this is the idea.

  • Hello World in SAP NW Developer Studio

    Hi,
    Was wondering if someone could provide me (or guide me) to a step-by-step guide on creating a "Hello World" application within SAP Portal using the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
    Thanks very much.

    Step 1:Click File->New->Other: Choose Portal Application(Left pane) and choose Create a Portal Application Project(Right Pane)Hit Next-> Enter Project Name:"ABCXYZ" and hit Finish.A project ABCXYZ will be created.
    Step 2:Right click on ABCXYZ and choose New->Other and now choose Create a new Portal Application Object, Hit Next->Next and now choose a template: Under  Portal     Component, choose JSPDynpage and hit next.
    Enter Dynpage Name:"Test", Enter package: com.abc and next JSP Name: test and hit next->Finish(You can create a Bean just before hitting Finish)
    Step 3: Now from application , Under DIST->PORTAL-INF folder  open portalapp.xml.
    Click on components on the bottom of this xml file. right click component-profile and hit add .
    Now choose New Enter Name as: tagLib and value as /SERVICE/htmlb/taglib/htmlb.tld and Finish.
    Now on the bottom of the portalapp.xml choose source.REMOVE these two lines:
        <property name="ComponentType" value="jspnative"/>
         <property name="JSP" value="pagelet/test.jsp"/>
    Step 4: Open your test.jsp from the DIST->PORTAL-INF folder and hits source on the bottom.
    Now put this <%@ taglib uri= "tagLib" prefix="hbj" %> on top of it.
    Step 5: Now put "Hello World" on the JSP. You could also use different htmlb components to display text like textview
    Step 6: right click your project and hit export...choose the par file option and then ur project.
    check Deploy Par option and hit finish to deploy it!
    Step 7: Build your iview in portal based on this par file!

  • Task Manager Process failing along w/ Hello World example

    Hello Edwin,
    Thank you very much for the word document on how to install Oracle BPEL into the oracle database. I was able to install according to your word document into my oracle 10g database. I have other problems though. When starting up the BPEL Process Manager, it gives me the following error message in the console:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/xerces/xni/XNIException
    I guess this in turn leads to the TaskManager process failing as it has a yellow exclamation point next to it in the BPEL Console. The oc4j console window later displays this error message:
    04/08/07 13:25:01 java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: bpel._1_0.TaskManager__BPEL4WS_BIN
    Error while creating process.
    An error has occurred while attempting to instantiate the class "bpel._1_0.TaskM
    anager__BPEL4WS_BIN" for the process "TaskManager" (revision "1.0"). The exception reported was: bpel._1_0.TaskManager__BPEL4WS_BIN
    Please try recompiling your BPEL process again. The current BPEL process archive "TaskManager" may have been compiled with an older version of "bpelc".
    An error message similar to this occurs when I try and work through the "Hello World" tutorial. Any idea why these error messages are occuring? "classnotfound" exceptions tell me there is a classpath issue. Thanks for your help.
    Kenny R.

    Edwin,
    Nevermind. I fixed it. I just copied the xercesImpl.jar file to the %ORABPEL_HOME%/system/appserver/oc4j/j2ee/home/applib directory and the processes function fine now. Thanks. Is this a bug that I found? Or was something messed up with my initial installation?

    in use:
    eclipse sdk (indigo 3.7.2) windows 7 64bit
    vcenter orchestrator 5.1 (windows 2008 R2)
    vmware - vco- plug-in SDK 5.1
    i installed vmware-vco plug-in sdk 5.1 to eclipse 3.7.2,then i created a vmware project(choose create hello world plug-in project)
    how to do next??
    I  export the project as a jar file,rename it as .dar ,and put it to the vmware/infrastructure/orchestrator/app-server/server/vmo/plugins,,
    then i upload the .dar file,,it reminds me installed failed....
    thanks so much!!!

    i don't think you have to rename the jar and create a dar. Once you have build successful you should get the dar file.

  • Hello World debug works, run fails

    Hello - I've installed Eclipse and MinGW per instructions, created a project from the "Hello World C++ Project" executable, and successfully built the project. If I try to RUN the project, it fails with this error and no "Hello World" output:
    <terminated> (exit value -1,073,741,515) HelloWorld.exe [C/C++ Application]
    but if I DEBUG the project, I can step over the cout line then click Resume, and it executes correctly with the expected output and an exit value of 0.
    What is happening?? Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks!
    ~Dan

    Compare these two configurations (Run and Debug):
    (Right click on the project) -> Properties -> C/C++ Build -> Settings -> Libraries
    Make sure you have the Libraries and Library search path the same.
    While in the Release mode, clean and build the project.

  • HOW TO: Create a GUI "Hello World"

     </p>
    This document describes how to create and run a very simple &quot;Hello World&quot;
    Java GUI app using JDeveloper. The application will have one button and one
    text field. Clicking the button will populate the text field with the message,
    &quot;Hello World!&quot;</p>
    Creating The New Application
    In this section, we will create an application with an empty frame.</p>
    <ol>
    [*]Choose File | New Workspace.
    </li>
    [*]Choose File | Save Workspace.
    </li>
    [*]Enter <TT>HelloGui.jws</tt> as the name for the workspace.
    This creates a Workspace called HelloGui. A workspace organizes all the projects
    you need to work on at one time.
    </li>
    [*]Choose File | New Project.
    The Project Wizard opens. This wizard will help you create a new project called
    HelloGui. A project contains all the files that go together in one &quot;tier&quot;--for
    example, all the files belonging to a single Java Application client, or all
    the files belonging to an Enterprise Java Bean. Because we are working on
    a simple, one-tier application, we will only need one project in our workspace.
    </li>
    [*]If the Welcome page appears, click Next.
    </li>
    [*]On the Project Type page, in the What is the Project's Filename?
    field, change the filename to <TT>HelloGui.jpr</tt>. Leave the rest of the
    path the same.
    </li>
    [*]Select A Project containing a new... and choose Application
    from the dropdown list.

    </li>
    [*]Close your application.</li>
    </ol>
    Refining the UI
    In this section, we polish the UI so that the components have the right size
    and alignment, the text in the text field shows up red, and the panel uses the
    portable GridBag layout instead of the JDeveloper-specific XYLayout.</p>
    <ol>

    Hello,
    I followed your instruction step by step to make this "Hello World", but when I run it, I got message "cannot find the runable node". What do I miss here? Thanks.

    [*]Choose File | New Project.
    The Project Wizard opens. This wizard will help you create a new project called
    HelloGui. A project contains all the files that go together in one "tier"--for
    example, all the files belonging to a single Java Application client, or all
    the files belonging to an Enterprise Java Bean. Because we are working on
    a simple, one-tier application, we will only need one project in our workspace.
    </li>
    [*]If the Welcome page appears, click Next.
    </li>
    [*]On the Project Type page, in the What is the Project's Filename?
    field, change the filename to <TT>HelloGui.jpr</tt>. Leave the rest of the
    path the same.

  • Problem including jdk.dio into Hello World Example

    Hi
    I followed the Hello World Example and this worked on my raspberry pi. Then I tried to use jdk.dio to access some hardware via GPIO unfortunately then the build of the Deployment Package fails with :

    It builds without an error inside of eclipse. I added the dependencies to the manifest

    What did I miss to do, so that the 'jdk.dio' can be resolved when building Deployment Package?

    I downloaded the "Developer's Workspace (with Web UI) " (user_workspace_archive_1.1.0.zip) from Kura 1.1.1 Extended Downloads (eclipse.org/kura/downloads.php) and imported this into my Eclipse workspace on my development machine. I checked the ZIP file it contains the jdk.dio_1.0.0.jar as stated in my Manifest and not 1.0.1 as you mentioned.
    I also checked on the target (raspberry pi) where I installed the "Raspbian (No, Net, with Web UI) - Stable" from Kura 1.1.1 Extended Downloads. Also here it is jdk.dio_1.0.0.jar under /opt/eclipse/kura/plugins.
    I don't think its a Version problem since Eclipse can build the code and finds all the dependencies. It is just when I try to export a 'Deployable plug-ins and fragments' or try to create the Deployment Package that the build fails.
    I found a workaround for the 'Deployable plug-ins and fragments' there I have to check the option 'Use class files compiled in the workspace' and the I can export it since the export does not need to build it just uses the already built classes from eclipse. I did not find such an option for the creation of the Deployment Package.
    Anyway I would like to be able to build without an IDE.
    What is the suggested approach to build a Deployment Package for Kura without the IDE so it could be integrated in some kind of a CI process?
    Is maven/tycho the way to go?
    Any help or hint is appreciated.
    Thanks Regards

With that kind of unproductive attitude I suddenly lose all interest in helping. So weird.
    Guess I'll do what I like: be blunt. You are allowed to think. I suggest you do so.

  • "hello world" - my first MIDlet is not working .......

    Hi There,
    I have downloaded J2ME toolkit recently and wrote a "hello world" MIDlet which is as follows
    import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
    import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
    public class HelloWorld extends MIDlet implements CommandListener
    private Command cmd;
    private Display display;
    public HelloWorld()
    display = Display.getDisplay( this );
    cmd = new Command("Exit", Command.SCREEN, 1);
    public void startApp()
    TextBox t = new TextBox( "Hello ", "Ravi", 256, 0 );
    t.addCommand( cmd );
    t.setCommandListener( this );
    display.setCurrent( t );
    public void pauseApp()
    public void destroyApp( boolean unconditional )
    public void commandAction( Command c, Displayable s )
    if( c == cmd )
    destroyApp( false );
    notifyDestroyed();
    the code builds fine and when i run it it shows -
    "Could not create icon com.sun.midp.midlet.Selector$MIDletInfo@8e597cUnable to create MIDlet ravi"
    in my toolbar ................
    can any tell me ..... how to set these icons........
    thank you

    Hi there,
    I can successfully compiled these code and generated .JAD file. but when I try to convert inot PRC. It show me following error message:
    File:E:\j2me_cldc\apps\HelloWorld\bin\HelloWorld.jad Result:Failed: The .JAR file corresponding to the .JAD file you want to convert is missing. Java Applications (MIDlets) are represented by both a .JAD and a .JAR file pair. Both the .JAD and .JAR must be present to convert the MIDlet to a .PRC file. Please make sure both the .JAD and the .JAR files are present.
    How can I get aforementioned JAR file? Just pack the class file by myself or something else needed to be done additionally? Please give me a hand...

  • Hello World Servlet Not Working

    Hi,
    I am using apache and eclipse for the first time. I am running into an issue. When I create the HelloServlet.java class, a yellow icon with a question mark appears on top on my web-inf, package, and class. I also notice a yellow line appears under the class name HelloWorld. I place the curso on top of it, and I saw the message below:
    The serializable class HelloServlet does not declare a static final serialVersionUID field of type long. I am not sure what I did wrong. When I paste the url in the browser, it does not show the message. It shows me an error 404.
    I am using eclipse 3 with tomcat 6 and java 5.
    P.S. I started tomcat, and all the jsp and html samples are working fine.

    I am getting the error message below when I compile my hello World Servlet.

  • Cannot deploy "Hello World" application using SAP NW CE 7.1

    Hello,
    I am having problems deploying a simple application to NW CE 7.1 (Welcome application
    from NWDS tutorial).
    I try to deploy from the NWDS. When I am executing "Deploy new archive
    and run" I am asked for user and password.
    According to the documentation I give following credentials:
    SAP NetWeaver Application Server (e.g. for deploying applications)
    username: Administrator
    password: <your master password>
    However after typing that I get immediate error in NWDS.
    ConnectionException,cause=[ERROR CODE DPL.DCAPI.1144] NamingException.Cannot get initial context.Reason: Exception during getInitialContext operation. Cannot establish connection to the remote server.
    Then the browser opens with following URL: http://localhost:50100/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/Welcome/WelcomeAPP?SAPtestId=38 and the following stack trace is shown.
    "Application error occurred during the request procession."
    Details: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.DispatcherException: The requested deployable object 'local/Welcome' is not deployed on the server. Please check the used URL for typos.
