Failed to update table name (location): Failed to open connection.

Folks,
ENV : SQL Server 2005, CR 2008 SP3, Windows Server 2003
All the reports are working fine except for 4 of them. All of them demonstrate the same symptoms.
Failed to print/preview report with the error 'A Crystal Reports job failed: Failed to update table name (location): Failed to open connection. Failed to open connection. COA.rpt
All the reports use OLE DB connection. I have verified the the DB Connection Information. It's the same across all the rpt files.
Please help.
Regards,
Balaji K

Hi,
Additional Info:
CR 2008 SP3 is called by an application using .net. The Application passes a couple of parameters to the CR report. I'm able to preview the report. All the reports use the same set of parameters.

  • Update table name.

    Hi,
    I created a new form UD_NEWFORM in form designer and by mistake I clicked save in form designer table and the form with table name UD_ADGRP got renamed to UD_NEWFORM.
    How can I change this to UD_ADGRP again ?

    Well I dont think you would ever be able to update the table name, even if you open some other form, click new and then save for that newly created form. It will just create another entry for this new form. Do a wild search for all the forms and you should be able to see your form UD_ADGRP over there. So nothing is over-written.
    Thanks

  • Table name variable failes in OLE DB connection

    I'm getting odd behavior from an OLE DB Destination. I need to make the destination dynamic so I chose "Table name or view name variable" as the data access mode. When I put in what I know is a valid table name as the default value of the variable
    and click view existing data, I get the following,
    File not found (it's a DB2 db that calls tables files).
    The curious thing is when I choose SQL command and put in a query using the EXACT same table and click view existing data, it works. What am I missing here?

    Hi falcon00,
    I am unable to reproduce the error message, however, you can follow the steps below to create the variable properly:
    Remove the existing related variable(s).
    Add a new Package scope variable named PRMSDestinationTable, set its data type to String, its value to TableName (without database schema).
    Press F4 to highlight the variable properties pane, set its EvaluateAsExpression property to True, and set its expression to @[User:: PRMSDestinationTable]. Evaluate the expression to make sure the result is correct.

    I get the following error messages:-

    So can expdp not handle this kind of table names.
    Will appreciate any comments/responses.

    It's not expdp can't handle the tablename, it's your OS interprete $xxx as variables.
    Try to use " to quote the tablename, or use parameter file PARFILE

    Hi,
    You can check all the material master tables and
    other material related tables from t-code SE11.
    There in the table name area you have to write
    MA* and press F4,it will fetch you all the material

    hope you can find the sloution that will slove this problem
    thanyou

    Sorry to hear that the software update failed. Unfortunately, it sounds like you need to perform a software repair on your phone via Bridge for Mac.
    Wait to connect the phone via USB cable to your Mac > In Bridge for Mac, click at Xperia > Repair Xperia device > Continue > Select your device.
    Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to reinstall the software and complete the repair. Do not connect your phone until this guide tells you when and how to connect it.
    Note that the phone should be powered off while doing this repair. Disconnect the phone from any kind of power source and hold down the ON/OFF + volume up(+) button for 5-10 seconds and you should force a shutdown.

  • How to update users' Trusted Locations settings on open?

    I am looking for a function that will trigger on opening of Access 2010 that will automatically update users' Trusted Locations to include the local network.  Only authenticated users have access to the drive, so there should be no security
    issues in making it a trusted location for anyone who opens the application.
    It would be too time consuming to explain to 100+ how to add the network to their trusted locations, so I am looking for something to bypass this.

    I put the function into the AutoExec macro, but when the database is not in a trusted location yet, I get a macro error number 2001.  After pressing Stop All Macros, then pressing Enable All Content, the function runs and properly adds the location.
    Obviously the error occurs because the location is not trusted yet, so how do I get it to trust a macro beforehand?

  • Updated Table Name Changes Applescript Operation in Numbers 3.5

    I've been using Applescript in Numbers for some time to copy/paste data (set cell values) from one sheet table to another sheet table.
    My original script was heavily cribbed from something Yvan Koenig had posted 2-3 years ago.
    I recently updated to Yosemite and Numbers 3.5 after testing to ensure my original script remained functional (and it did).
    I subsequently updated my source data table by duplicating my old table and editing this new source.
    I then updated my Applescript to to reference the new source table.
    Testing yielded a good functional result, but Numbers changed its behavior by displaying its work while setting values in the target sheet table.
    This obviously slows the script down and adds measurable processing time given the amount of data being moved.
    Does anyone know how I can prevent this behavior from occurring?
    I don't believe I changed anything material in my original script so I'm really not sure why Numbers changed its behavior.
    I have included my script below.  Thanks very much for any help!

    Here is a simple example that copies values from a source row 3 in Table 1 to a target row 5 in Table 2.
    On my aging MBA it was very fast (about a second) with 150 columns.
    In addition to speed, an advantage of this approach is that you don't have to code table dimensions;  the target table will expand automatically if needed.
    Save the script in a script folder (in my case ~/Library/Scripts/Applications/Numbers) and run it from there by choosing it from the script menu. (Running it from Script Editor will paste the values into Script Editor instead of into Numbers as you want).
    If keeping the original number format is important, substitute 'formatted value'  for 'value' in the script.

  • Prefixing the schema owner to the table name

    I have entity objects in my JClient app that were created from tables owned by USER1. When I connect to my JClient app as USER2 the DML fails because the table names are not prefixed by the table owner (USER1). I don't want to use public synonyms and I don't want to customize my view objects just to prefix the table names with the table owner. How could I prefix all of the table names with the table/schema owner by default?

    We have been using another approach. We change the "current schema" at the db session level. This avoids having to define public synonyms and having to fully qualify names. It also allows us to have the same application schema defined multiple times in a db instance, which is useful for testing.
    While our real code is bit more complicated, basically we implement the afterConnect() and prepareSession() methods on an appication module with a call to our utility method:
    protected void afterConnect() {
    super.afterConnect();
    setupSession('hr');
    protected void setupSession(String currentSchema) {
    try {
    log.debug("Setting current schema to: " + currentSchema +
    " via: call alter session set current schema " + currentSchema);
    Statement stmt =
    getDBTransaction().createStatement(DBTransaction.DEFAULT);
    stmt.execute("alter session set current_schema=" + currentSchema);
    stmt.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    if (e.getErrorCode() == 1435) {
    log.info("Couldn't set the current_schema to " + currentSchema +
    " because it doesn't exist in the target db.");
    } else {
    log.error("Error setting current_schema in DB context!", e);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    log.error("Error setting current_schema in DB context!", e);
    }

    DAC, ETL we are using user as XXOBI
    For OBIEE RPD we have to use user with read only access such as XXOBI_APP
    How can i make the changed to BI server / RPD to use full qualified names.
    I have tried to select the Full Qualified table name property in Oracle Datawarehouse connection pool setting.
    If i enable that all my sql query is showing tables as catalog.dbo.w_party_d ( my tables in physical layer showing under catalaog -> dbo -> all tables and joins)

    KrisAre you saying you just need to access the database using different accounts? If that is the case, why dont you just update the connection pool settings like username and password with XXOBI_APP account which you are supposed to be using for OBIEE?

  • MD04 table name for stock statistics

    hi, all
    i'm wondering how can i find out the table name for MD04- stock statistics - Fixed receipts, the structure's name MDSTA-SUM02.
    I tried use ST05 to trace the update table name, i created a Production order, this "fixed receipts" field is updated. but i counldn't find out the right updated table for this particular field.
    does anyone know how to find it or if anyone knows the right table name for it! thanks

    Depending what you're trying to do, you can do a test run on MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API.  The only information you need to enter is the plant and material.  You'll want the results in E_MDSTA.  That will only be reasonable if you're trying to find the value for a single plant and material, though (or a handful).  If you need this information for all materials at all plants and need it frequently, which would seem more likely, your ABAPers can use this function in their report.  Again, the only info they'll need to pass to it are the plant and material.  Hope that works out for you.

  • Table name which stoers Opening Stock posting of Inventory

    Hi all,
    I wanted to know what is the table name which stores the Opening Stock of Inventory. and also How can i know the price that i had given while posting the Opening Balance for a particular Item.
    Expecting you early response.
    Thank you
    regards,
    Shreyas

    Hi Shreyas,
    You can query the table OINM with transtype of '-2' which stand for "Opening Balance" for inventory items.
    The query looks like:
    Select * from oinm t0 where t0.TransType = '-2' and t0.ItemCode = '[%0]'
    Any items' opening transaction can be found there.
    Thanks,

  • Polling for database updates fails to update sequence file/table

    I have a small system to poll for changes to a database table of student details. It consists of:
    Database adapter, which polls the database for changes, retreives a changed row, and passes the generated XML to -
    "receive" router service, which simply passes the retrieved database XML data to -
    "execute" router service, which transforms the XML and passes the new message to -
    File Adapter, which writes the transformed XML to a file.
    The problem is that the database polling is not updating the sequence recorder - I have tried using a sequence file which stores the personnumber, a sequence table which stores the personnumber and a sequence table which stores the last-updated timestamp. In all cases the database adapter successfully reads the sequence file/table and retreives the correct row, based on the sequence value ( I have tested this by manually changing the sequence value), the data is transformed and a correct xml file is created, but the system then fails to update the sequence file/table so that when the next polling time comes around the very same database row is extracted again and again and again.
    In the ESB control panel I have one error: "Response payload for operation "receive" is invalid!"

    Richard

    You need to be careful. Submit and committing to the database are two different things.
    Submit on a page (and autoSubmit the property) are only posting the changes you typed into the field, back down to the application server. NOTHING is happening with the database at this point. So the applications's internal "cache" of records (using something like ADF BC) is holding the changes but the database doesn't know anything. So if you quit now, no changes will go to the database.
    These changes onlyget submitted down to the app server when you do some sort of action like press a button. Simply navigating fields will be doing nothing back to the app server. If you add autoSubmit then you will automatically submit the changes on that field down to the app server when you leave the field (but again, this is not touching the database)
    You have to explicitly add a COMMIT operation to save those changes to the database.
    Maybe if you try in a simple EMP example and send us your findings we can help direct you further.

  • Failed to update comments table structure of ( AppSet - AppName)

    Happy New Year Experts,
    Version:  BPC Netweaver SP6
    I am having an issue with adding a dimension to an application.  I am recieving the following error message:
    Failed to update comments table structure of ( AppSet - AppName)
    Here is the order of events that led me to this issue:
    1.  I created a "U" dimension
    2.  I created all associated properties for this dimension
    3.  I added the dimension to the application
    4.  I deleted the dimension
    5.  I re-created the dimension with the exact same name (this worked just fine)
    6.  When I add the dimension back to the application, I recieve that error message
    I am not certain why this is happening, I can add a dim with a different name just fine, but I need\want to use the name that it is rejecting.
    Any assistance that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mark J. Glowczewski

    I figured out that the issue with this error messaged related to the dimension name being a reserved word in BPC Netweaver.
    The Dim name I was using was "Part".
    Once I changed the dimension name, I was able to to successfully add the dim to my applicaiton.
    Thank you,
    Mark J. Glowczewski
