Failing to access iCloud after software installed.

I am trying to link my PC to iCloud. I have followed the procedure and downloaded from Apple. The iCloud icon appears in Control Panel (Network & Internet), but when I click on it and enter my Apple ID and Password it appears to search but doesn't connect (even after a long time). I can access iCloud from my iPad. What am I doing wrongly? Any suggestions please.

Access iCloud where? iCloud.com? When you change the password it should be changed for all Apple services as far as I know.

  • How to change number of retries and delay before retrying after software install failure

I deploy a software to client, but the installation is fail, so it will retry. but How to change the number of retries and delay before retrying after software install failure?
I find "Retry Settings" in "Software Distribution Component Properties". But I think it work for Distribution, not the installation. am I right?

First, are you referring to packages or applications because the behavior is different.
Also, why do you want it to retry a failure? It failed for a reason so you need to fix the cause of the failure first. If it failed the first, it will likely fail the next time for the same reason. In general, ConfigMgr will only retry on transient type
    errors.

  • Epson Photo r200 - won't add, doesn't show up after software install

I can't get an Epson R200 photo printer to work with the IMAC running OSX10
I have used the included cd to install the drivers, as described in the manual.
I have downloaded new drivers from EPSON.com and installed them.
I have downloaded all OS updates.
I have contacted EPSON and perfromed their run around (of telling me to delete the files, download new ones, and reinstall it).
After I install it, the pritner does not show up. So i go to the printer thing and click "Add". When I do this nothign comes up. It should come up with a dialogue box of sorts if I'm not mistaken?
If I search my way through the files to the Epson utility it installed, I can see the ink levels in the printer, and perform cleaning functions from it. I thought it was wierd that would see it, but the OS wouldn't.
    Any ideas?

Hi, I use two epson printers on my IMac and they installed with not problems. I know you have tried this but the only thing that comes to my feeble mind is that when you go to the Printer Setup Utility and click on "add" a windo comes up that allows one to select the type of connection you are using for the printer. In my case it is EPSON USB there are other options and maybe it is not selected to match whatever connection you are using with your printer. Good luck, rj

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • My iPhone will not automatically backup to iCloud after iOS7 install

My iPhone 5 will not automatically backup to icloud anymore now that iOS7 has been installed. Steps I have tried so far...
Installed iOS7 through Software Update - relazed three days later that the phone was not backing up
    Did a manual backup
    Erased the entire phone
    Restored from iCloud backup
    Then reset all phone settings
Signed out of iCloud, deleted all data and then signed back in
Is anyone else having this issue after updating to iOS7?

my dear friend i have like your problem before and when i see alot of solution i find the one it work with me and
    come autmatic again
    take the solution:
Note that a manual backup also factors into the automatic backup schedule, meaning the next automatic backup will not occur until  48 hours later.
Actually the iCloud backup process sounds a bit more complicated than it actually is in practical use. You can’t schedule iCloud backups manually, but you don’t need to do so as iOS takes care of this for you, and it’s designed to be pretty transparent.
Once enabled, iCloud backups will run automatically whenever the following conditions are met:
    Your device is powered on,
Your device is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi,
Your device is connected to a power source,
Your device has the screen locked (i.e. turned off), and
It has been at least 24 hours since the last successful backup occurred.
In other words, your device may not be backed up to iCloud at the same time every day, but once 24 hours has elapsed the iPhone will make a backup as soon as it is plugged in and on Wi-Fi with the screen off. For example, if your iPhone backs up to iCloud at 10:00 pm tonight, but you don’t plug it in while on a Wi-Fi connection until midnight tomorrow night, the next backup will occur at midnight—basically as soon as you plug it in—and future backups will continue to run at midnight on subsequent days as long as the iPhone is plugged in, connected to Wi-Fi, and has the screen off at that time. If you’re working an irregular schedule and coming home at different hours, this may gradually push the backups to later at night, but the backup won’t be skipped if you miss the time window—it will still occur as soon as possible once all of the other conditions are met.
This does of course mean that sometimes backups can get pushed to the point where they may be delayed until the next night; come home at 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning and plug in your iPhone and that’s when your next backup will occur, but if you leave for work on Monday morning at 9:00 am and your phone isn’t plugged in and on Wi-Fi while at work, you won’t get another automatic backup until you get home and plug it in later that night.
You can check the time of the last successful iCloud backup by going into the Settings app on your iPhone and choosing Storage & Backup from the iCloud section.
You can also tap the “Back Up Now” button from this screen to create a manual iCloud backup at any time. To create a manual iCloud backup, your iPhone only needs to be on Wi-Fi, it does not need to be plugged in or have the screen off.
Note that a manual backup also factors into the automatic backup schedule, meaning the next automatic backup will not occur until  48 hours later.
This can be one method for adjusting to a specific backup time if you really feel the need to, but it’s largely unnecessary as iOS should naturally settle into a standard backup routine as long as your iPhone is regularly plugged in and on Wi-Fi for at least a few hours each day, such as while you’re sleeping.
As one last note, it’s also worth keeping in mind that the iPhone only needs to be connected to power with the screen off to start an iCloud backup; once the automatic backup has started, it will continue as long as the iPhone remains on a Wi-Fi connection, even if you unplug the iPhone or begin using it.

  • Lost ALL access privileges after software change

I have a G4 running 10.4.3 Tiger. It began to act unstable--contant freezes, etc--and out frustration I loaded the only software I could find (OS X 10.3) and as a result, solved the freezing but lost user access to everything I have--IPhoto, iTunes, movie files, etc etc. iPhoto won't even launch! How do I regain access to the files? I bought the Mac used, and the original user accounts were set up by the previous owner, so I don't know passwords, user names, etc. Help!

Tough to figure what a 10.3 install might have done with the 10.4 files, Downgrades by a whole point were never figured in.
First, Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when done.
    Then I'd get EasyFind...

Search your whole drive for some personal files, or some extension like .mp3 to see if/where they are.

  • Computer freezes after software install

after i updated to the newest version of snow leapord my computer will freeze/and or restart during use. also, i now cannot access my system prefereces. what does all of this mean?

    Ah, so Genius!.
You'll have to follow this procedure
1: Hold the command and r keys down and boot the machine, you'll enter Recovery HD partition.
2: Use Disk Utility, select your Macintosh HD partition and erase with the middle erase option (important!)
3: Go have a beer and watch TV, it will take some time to finish.
4: Quit and Reinstall OS X, you will need a strong fast Internet connection, preferably a Ethernet connection to the router or modem (reset power on modem) and wait for that to finish.
5: Reboot and all should be well, setup with a different name and password, this will be your emergency Admin user account in case of any future problems you can log into this one instead of the one your going to transfer.
This should be fine at this point unless there is a hardware problem.
    Take it to Apple.
6: Use a Firewire cable to each Mac (FW 800/400 adapter if needed) and hold T to boot the older Mac into Firewire Target Disk Mode.
7: In your Utilities folder is Migration Assistant, use it to transfer the users accounts of the older Mac.
8: Optional: Log into the first Admin you created on the new machine and turn the other users to Standard User, it's more secure for tiny bit more work, you will have to Software Update manually, enter your admin name and password a tiny bit more often than running always as Admin (less secure that way)

  • File error, access denied after software upgrade

We have three users who log on separately to the Mac. After doing a software update in standard mode, that user and administrator can no longer log and capture video, a file error, access denied warning comes up. What I have noticed is that the Final Cut Pro version number for the administrator and the user who done the update has changed to 6.04, where as the other two uses who are still able to capture video is 6.01.

Hmmm... the next step would be to trash the permissions of with FCPRescue. You can easily google for it.
But short of that... are there other system wide issues you've been having with admin vs user?

  • Changed iCloud id...now won't let me log into iCloud after software upgrade

I changed my Apple/iCloud id a few months ago from one email address to another. Now, after I upgraded to iOS 7, it won't let me use my new id and keeps asking for the password for the old one. How do I fix this?

Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

  • Ipad2 stopped working with zeppelin speaker after software install?

I have recently installed the latest software upgrade for my ipad2 and it is now not playing through my zeppelin speaker although my iPhone had the latest upgrade

The inference is that the speaker is working with your iPhone after the same update. • New Ipod Touch 32G not charging in the dock after software installed

For XMAS we gave our boys money to buy Ipods, our older son Ryan added a bit of his own money and bought the 32G touch, the younger boy Mitch the 8G.
We had also given one of them a docking station to go with the ipod they were buying.
After playing with the Ipod on the computer and loading music games and apps Ryan put the ipod in the dock and it reported that
"Charging is not supported on this device"
Though it happily charges the 8G touch and our old 4G mini, and my wifes dock charges it.
We took it all back to the store and they told us to reset the iPod and try again, we did that and it worked, the ipod charged.
Ryan then started loading it up again and after loading it put it in the charger/station and again the failure message.
The apple support information about this is that this message is when trying to charge a new gen Ipod with the now unsupported firewire.
So how come it works before apps are loaded and not after ?
It has not happened with Mitch's 8G touch

Charging is not a problem with the cable and computer or the wall charger
    BUT
we bought a docking station so he can play music for long periods and the ipod will charge and keep going.
The Dock does not charge it and shows the error message.
Though when he does a reset or restore to factory settings it works fine.
It is not till he installs some apps that it stops working, so it must be a software/firmware/configuration based issue.
So is it an Apple problem or the Dock ?

  • Why can't I access iCloud after resetting the password?

For months now I have not been able to access my MAC email thru Mail from our MacBook Air. After not bothering for a while (have other things to do like most of us) I have reset it again and same problem. I can access it from any (!!) other computer including the iPads, iMac and even my shielded Windows based work computer using MS Explorer... If I try to use Safari to log into the Cloud from the MB Air I also can not get in from the MB Air despite being able to from any other computer.
Can anyone help with this? I would be most grateful as this is more than odd...
P.S. I have deleted the account and tried to add it again using the new password.

OK, no responses (normally quite quick and helpful), could mean this is a unique failure or user error. I have just spent half a day trying to fix and searching on the internet for solutions but see nothing that works. I am close to ditching the Mail and Mac related email system if I can not resolve in the next 2 days or so. This is a big change so if anyone out there knows why this MB Air laptop does nto allow us to log in whereas other computers (Macs and otherwsise do) I would greatly appreciate your advice. I am sure this is an authentication issue but the cause is becoming irrelevant.
    Many thanks!

  • Ownership of datafiles after software installed by oracle:oinstall

I know this has been discussed before, but I looked through those postings I did not see my question answered. My apologies if this topic is redundant to some.
In installing 11gR2 on a new AIX 7.1 server I followed the guidelines for operating system user and group, so the Oracle software is owned by oracle:oinstall. I am about to create a database. If I leave things as they are the datafiles will be owned by oracle:oinstall. Using the group oinstall seems wrong to me and I am not sure what to do about it. In previous releases of database server the software was owned by oracle:dba, as were the datafiles. I would prefer that my datafiles still be owned by oracle:dba, not by oracle:oinstall. If I switch the primary group of the oracle user from oinstall to dba will it cause problems later when I install patches, or install the next version of Oracle database server? Would I have to switch the primary group back to oinstall before applying the patch? If I had it to do over again I would not have used oinstall and instead stuck with dba.
Please tell me your experience with this subject.
    Thank you,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
Are your Oracle binaries and your database datafiles all owned by oracle:oinstall?
    Yes!!! without a doubt
You may go through the Oracle documented Installation guide for further reference. One of the main reason why we create oinstall group is to indicate the group as binary owners at OS level.
    Hope this helps!

  • Camera Raw 6.7 fails to update, even after manual install?

Whenever I run the check for updates in Photoshop (CS5), it tells me I need to update Camera Raw to 6.7.  However, when I try, I get this message:
      Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
I am running Mavericks (OSX 10.9.5). I downloaded the files for 6.7 and 6.7.1 and installed them manually. When I look in Photoshop (12.0.4) > About Plug-In > Camera Raw.. it says it is version 6.7.1.  My logs also show that I updated to both 6.7 and 6.7.1. (Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 09-28-2014.log.gz and 6.7.1 09-28-2014.log.gz)
What email address can I send my logs to to help me figure this out??

Thanks for responding! I know ACR is now updated as much as it can be. But whenever I check for updates, the Adobe updater program tells me I need to update ACR, but then gives me errors.  I know I can just disable checking for updates for just ACR, but I'd like to fix it if there's a problem, not just cover it up.
