  • Problem modifying the connection details in a Report when using Weblogic 12

    Hi
    I have a j2ee application that uses the Java Reporting Component (JRC). At runtime, the code programmatically changes the connection type and schema name of a crystal report before running it. The connection that was used when designing the report is replaced with new JNDI parameters pointing to a Weblogic/Oracle datasource.
    The application works perfectly when using Weblogic 11, but the same code and report fails when deployed to Weblogic 12.
    I used Version 12.2.207.916 of the JRC, and updating  to the most current version I could find (12.2.217) did not solve the problem.
    The code snippet below shows how the connection and schema name is replaced for each of the tables in the report (not all the code is shown here)...
            PropertyBag propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
            propertyBag.put("Database DLL", "crdb_jdbc.dll");
            propertyBag.put("JNDI Datasource Name", jndiName);
            propertyBag.put("Initial Context", "");
                while (tableList.hasNext()) {
                    ITable table = tableList.next();
                    ITable tableNew = (ITable) table.clone(true);
                    IConnectionInfo connectionInfo = table.getConnectionInfo();
                    connectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
                    connectionInfo.setKind(ConnectionInfoKind.SQL);
                    tableNew.setQualifiedName(newQualifier + "." + table.getName());
                    tableNew.setConnectionInfo(connectionInfo);
                    dbController.setTableLocation(table, tableNew);
    The setTableLocation() function throws the following exception ...

    Any idea what I can do to fix this ?
    Thanks in advance!

    Last reference in any documentation re. version of supported weblogic is 10.3.x. And it may very well be that things worked in weblogic 11, but as versions go by the differences get bigger and eventually the app stops working.
    I'll ping the Program Manager for definitive info and future support. Once I have the info, I'll update this Discussion.

  • Not able to read/write Clobdomain when using weblogic server.

    Hi,
    We have a view and one of its attribute is ClobDomain. Earliar we were using OC4J and had no problems in reading/writing this attribute using the entity object. Now we have migrated to Weblogic and the same clobdoamin is written empty. Also two records are inserted in the database. I thought it might be jdbc driver problem and tried to use ojdbc6 driver instead of default driver which is used by Weblogic. But still the same problem
    We are using,
    Jdev version- 10.1.3.4
    Weblogic 10.3
    I did lots of google but not find any solution.
    Below is the error we are getting.

  • Error when using weblogic portal 10.3.5

    Hi, everyone.
    - I'm using weblogic portal 10.3.2 to develop a portal. Now, i deploy my project for customer but they want to deploy it in Centos OS.
    - I down load weblogic portal form oracle site but it don't have 10.3.2 version. I use the latest version oracle weblogic portal 10.3.5 but when run my project it has error:
    com.bea.content.AuthenticationException: Error authenticating to repository: WLP. Possible cause could include, but is not limited to a bad repository configuration or the repository is unknown. Error message: java.lang.IllegalMonitorStateException
    - Can anyone help me the link down load oracle weblogic portal 10.3.2 for linux or help me resolve this error.
    Thank a lot!

    Hi..
    They changed a few things in 10.3.. see http://edocs.bea.com/common/docs103/install/silent.html#wp1044118
    looks like the Server sub category has changed to Core Application Server..
    If you checkout the log.txt file in the logs directory of the root where you've installed a copy using the gui, it generally lists all the installation options available.
    ..Mark.

  • Continous HTTP access error logged when using Weblogic Cluster

    I am not sure if this is the right forum for this discussion, but here we go anyways.
    We have created a Weblogic Cluster with one Administration Server and up to 12 Managed Servers. Our Weblogic version is 9.2.
    SSL has been enabled for all Servers and the HTTP Listen Ports are all turned off. The cluster and all applications are working fine and communicating over HTTP as expected, however the logs grow 3MB+ per hour due to an error that repeatedly logged. This error appears to be an attempt by an internal Weblogic process to access some resource over HTTP.
    Here are the various messages received in the logs. There are 3 messages logged per error occurred.
    This first log message is from the domain log (I replaced the hostname/IP info with <PEER>):
    ####<Aug 11, 2008 12:08:46 PM GMT+00:00> <Warning> <Security> <PEER> <ManagedServer7> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1218456526962> <BEA-090475> <Plaintext data for protocol HTTP was received from peer <PEER> instead of an SSL handshake.>
    This second log message is from the ".out" log from the Administration Server:

    This last message is from the access.log for the Admin Server:
    <PEER> - - [11/Aug/2008:12:08:58 +0000] "GET /bea_wls_internal/HTTPClntLogin/a.tun?wl-login=https+dummy+WLREQS+9.2.2.0+dummy+%0A&rand=8038349418070109915&AS=2048&HL=19 HTTP/1.1" 200 1337
    I have searched all over trying to find a solution but with no luck thus far. I have seen some posts about turning on HTTPTunneling and this does seem to prevent the error from occurring, but this is not a solution for us.
    I could really use some help in understanding whats going on and trying to resolve this issue. Our client will make a big deal out of this and will want a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    We had this problem with WebLogic Platform 9.2 MP2, running on Solaris. The patch CR344429 worked fine. The corresponding patch for 9.2 MP3 is CR370091. You can get these patches through Oracle Support.
    A couple of points:
    1. We did not have to set StartScriptEnabled=true for the patch to work. We use the SSL Niode manager.
    2. Using the t3: protocol (-Dweblogic.management.server=t3://<admin server listen address>:<admin server listen port) does stop these exceptions, but causes these warning messages to appear in the administration server log file:
    <Warning> <[STANDBY] ExecuteThread: '5' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <...> <BEA-002637> <Failed to register a disconnect listener because of weblogic.rmi.extensions.DisconnectMonitorUnavailableException: Could not register a DisconnectListener for [weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicRemoteRef ......>
    Hope these comments help.

  • Read-mostly pattern & EJB-QL question when using Weblogic 8.1

    I want to use the same implementation of an CMP entity bean for the
    read-mostly pattern in BEA Weblogic 8.1 (means for the reader and the
    writer class).
    Therefore my ejb-jar.xml contains the following statements:
    <ejb-name>MyBeanReadOnly</ejb-name>
    <local-home>mypackage.MyBeanLocalHome</local-home>
    <ejb-name>MyBean</ejb-name>
    <local-home>mypackage.MyBeanLocalHome</local-home>
    The weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml have the proper
    changes.
    I can deploy this bean & for the corresponding session bean binding
    and calling methods works for the (virtual) read-only and read-write
    entity beans.
    When we are using Xdoclet and ejb.finder methods e.g.
    @ejb.finder
    signature="java.util.Collection findAllValid(java.util.Date date)"
    result-type-mapping="Local"
    query="SELECT DISTINCT OBJECT(u) FROM MYTABLE AS u
    WHERE (?1 >= u.validFrom) AND ((u.validUntil IS NULL)
    OR (?1 <= u.validUntil))"
    the compilation and packaging runs well (as usual).
    During the deploy to Weblogic 8.1 we get errors, because the
    implementation of MyBeanReadOnly's findAllValid(...) should return
    objects of type MyBeanReadOnly instead of MyBean.
    Is there a way to solve this problem
    - and not write seperate reader and writer classes like
    the Weblogic 5.1 sample implementation?
    - and not use the CMP optimistic locking?
    Thanks for any further information.

    I created user ID 'testa' in the database which owns all the objects.
    I created another userID 'testb' which has privileges to read, modify and delete data from tables owned by testa.
    I created public synonyms for all the objects owned by testa.
    I set the userid 'testb' and password in weblogic administrator window and set the same in reg.xml file also.
    Now when I tried to install the application, I got the following errors:

    My question is :
    does weblogic 8.1 works when I use public synonyms and user id other than the schema owner ID?
    I would appreciate if somebody could help me with this.
    Thank YouHi. I wish I could help you more, but so far, from what symptoms you've shown us,
    this is a purely internal Oracle issue to do with what your second user sees or
    can access. The fact that the user is logging in via JDBC or through WebLogic is
    irrelevant.

  • Problem in retriving varray when using weblogic connection pool

    Hi,
         I had similar problem when we I am using the weblogic connection pool. I had similar setup i.e weblogic 5.1 servicepack9 and oracle 8.1.7.
    I cofigarud the weblogic connection pool using Oracle thin driver.
    But if I am using with oracle thin driver directly I am able to retrive.
    If any one know how to retrive varray from procedure using weblogic connection pool please send me it.
    Thanx.

  • DB Connections not being released when using Weblogic Datasource

    I am using Kodo-JDO 2.5.3 and Weblogic 8.1.
    I have JDO running as a JCA connector and I have a simple stateless session
    bean persisting a simple object. My problem is that every time I call my
    session bean to persist an object it grabs a connection from the Weblogic
    connection pool and never returns it. So if I have configured a maximum of
    50 connections in the pool, on my 51st call to the session bean I will get
    an error saying it cannot acquire a connection from the pool. (error pasted
    below)
    I have configured my JDO parameters as follows:
    ConnectionRetainMode=persistence-manager (also tried 'transaction')
    TransactionMode=xa
    ConnectionFactoryName=ERDataSource
    ConnectionFactory2Name=NonXADataSource
    At the end of every call to the SessionBean I perform a
    persistenceManager.close(); and a persistenceManager=null;
    Any ideas why connections are not getting re-used?
    Exception I am receiving:
    java.sql.SQLException: Internal error: Cannot obtain XAConnection
    weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently
    available in pool MyJDBC Connection Pool-1 to allocate to applications,
    please increase the size of the pool and retry..

    A couple of suggestions that might do the trick:
    1. Upgrade to 2.5.4
    2. Leave the ConnectionRetainMode to its default value (on-demand).
    3. Make sure you always close your Query results and Extent iterators.

    If I remove the tags above, everything works correctly. I cannot understand what is the problem.
    I am adding Weblogic Http PubSub to an existent application (so I do not know why tags have been inserted).
    Does anyone can help me understand this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    We do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1. In version 6.0,we
    do offer a type 4 driver for Linux.
    In version 5.1, I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver
    available for free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver)
    with WebLogic Server. To download it:
    Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
    From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
    select Oracle JDBC drivers
    From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
    the top).
    Or, to go directly there:
    http://technet.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/software_index.htm

  • Problem when using weblogic.jspc from an IDE

    I am trying to call JSPC from an IDE (as part of an Eclipse Builder). To optimize performance I want to avoid to spwan a new process. So I am trying to call weblogic.jspc's main method directly from the IDE. Everything works fine for simple simple pages.
              But when the page refers to a tag library with a tag providing a TagExtraInfo class, weblogic.jspc complains about the class not extending the TagExtraInfo base class although it does:
              Errors encountered while compiling 'D:\vrp-localdeploy\applications\wot\WOT' :
              Translation of /rentalcar/tiles/i18n/CarCapacityView.jsp failed: (line 17): Error in using tag library uri='/tags/i18n' prefix='i18n': For tag 'bundle', extra info class 'org.apache.taglibs.i18n.BundleTEI' does not extend javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo
              I could not figure out what exactly causes the problem. Using exactly the same settings workes just fine.
              Any suggestions?

    The full stack trace reads as follows:

              <p>
              Unfortunately it doesn't really give any real reason - it is a general piece of code in jspc to report problems.
              <p>
              But I dug a lot bit deeper into the code and realized that the original problem is a ClassCastException in line 1290 of class StandardTagLib, which reads as follows:
              <p>
                   tagextrainfo = (TagExtraInfo)Beans.instantiate(classloader, s3);
              <p>
              This looks quite obvious that the class named by s3 simply is no extension of TagExtraInfo, but unfortunately the only class with that name being referenced by the class path does extend this class. I wondered what the problem might be and came up with the following answer:
              <p>
              The class of the bean instantiated by Beans.instantiate extends a class with the name "javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo" which is cast to another class with exactly <b>the same name, but a different class loader</b>. Since neither of the class loaders is parent of the other one, both classes are not considered being the same class although they have the same name. Sounds weird, but exactly this is the problem!
              <p>
              Where does it come from and why it works fine when the tool is executed in a separate thread or on the console?
              <p>
              From my understanding the problem is caused in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc:
              <p>
                   GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder);
              <p>
              This line of code creates a class loader not knowing a parent class loader by which the class weblogic.jspc was loaded. All classes weblogic.jspc is using or calling will be loader by either the same or a parent class loader - this is important to understand. Since TagExtraInfo is directly referenced by StandardTagLib one instance of the class object (the object of type class) will be generated and linked when the class StandardTagLib is instantiated for the first time by the class loader which loaded weblogic.jspc (or by its parent). This is consequence which can not be avoided.
              <p>
              But now look at line 1290 of class StandardTagLib: It explicitly requests the class to be loaded by the GenericClassLoader instantiated in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc. This class loader, off course, is not aware of the same class just being loaded by another class loader since it has no knowledge of it. It simply creates a fresh copy of the class object, which only differs in the reference to the class loader which created this class object.
              <p>
              Actually, I figured that the following line of code replacing the upper one, would resolve the problem:
              <p>
              GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder, this.getClass().getClassLoader());
              <p>
              Doing this, the GenericClassLoader would know its logical parent by reference and would implicitly - thanks to the implementation of java.lang.ClassLoader - try to find the class using its parent first, would find a valid class, and hence use the same instance of the class object instantiated by the parent class loader. The problem would be solved.
              <p>
              It works fine in the console or under a running application server, because they will always have the weblogic jar in their system class path. ClassLoaders not having a parent are implied to have the system class loader as their parent - the piece of code does work in this case.
              <p>
              Under Eclipse this is no option, off course. We would restrain us to exactly this version of the APIs used by the weblogic version in the system class path.
              <p>
              I was trying to patch this myself by extending weblogic.jspc by my own class to pass on a proper class loader knowing its parent, and I was sort of successful: The problem disappeared. But I can't gain exactly what I am looking for, because the method runJspc with four parameters (around line 447) of weblogic.jspc is private to the class and its public brother always passes true to this method as the fourth parameter - causing jspc to recompile all JSPs instead of just the requested ones.
              <p>
              Everything refers to WL81SP3.
              <p>
              That's were I got stuck currently. I have read some postings about this problem in the internet - some dating far back into the history. So, I have the impression that there have been some folks around with the same problem. I think the patch I suggested does not any harm and I could simply use jspc in my builder without any problems.

  • Data error when using Weblogic DataSource

    I have set up a Datasource in Weblogic 10.3 using the JDBC Driver - Oracle's Driver (thin) Versions:9.0.1,9.2.0,10,11.
    - provided with Weblogic Server.
    When I execute a Servlet call - a certain line rs.getString () returns a wrong value.
    For example we have a join Query that returns multiple records which have the same field returned in 5 records.
    This feilds value is " 0000000" and it is of type "varchar" . Out of the 5 times rs.getString() is executed , 3 times it returns the following values: "0^H11508^H" "1501^H115" "0^H10000^H" .
    Twice it returns the correct value.
    This does not occur if the Servlet uses a direct Database connection and not the datasource pool.
    So I think it is a Driver issue. What JDBC Driver should I be using when I create the pool.Also should I be setting Character Set or any other property,.
    Our Database version is Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production.
    Weblogic version 10.3 . Operating System - Linux Red Hat.
    Appreciate your help. This is urgent since its in production now and users will start using this from Monday.

    Hi. This indicates a bug in the driver, to do with
    re-use of prepared statements (because the
    statement cache will transparently dish up
    the same statement for repeated prepareStatement()
    calls.)
    So, first upgrade the ojdbc14.jar in your server\lib directory
    to the latest one you can download, and let us know if
    the problem goes away or remains. Can we assume that you set
    the statement parameters with exactly the same calls each time?

  • How to catch password expiry/password reset when using weblogic Form authen

    Hi
    I am using a custom login screen (login.jsp) to authenticate against weblogic using FORM

    Thanks Bikash, 755633.1 will not help me as I have multiple password policy and user can belong to any of password policy.
    I now have ldap command to find passwordPolicy assigned to user
    1. ldapsearch -p 3060 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w "welcome1" -b "cn=users,dc=com" -s sub "pwdPolicysubentry=*" dn pwdpolicysubentry pwdChangedTime
    Above command will give me password policy applicable to user and date on which password was last updated.
    I then need to search for pwdMaxAge from value received by attribute pwdpolicysubentry like
    2. ldapsearch -p 3060 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w "welcome1" -b "[value_from_pwdpolicysubentry_in_1]" -s sub "objectclass=*" dn pwdMaxage
    I can then say password will expire for user on
    pwdChangedTime (output from 1) + pwdMaxage (output from 2 in seconds)
    and if pwdMaxage is set to value =< 0 then password never expires.
    What is best way to write program around this , is pl/sql (with DBMS_LDAP) or shell scripts ?
    Any help or suggestion to do it in better way ?
    Regards
