Failure chain in xml report is missing

The failure chain within the xml report is longer coming up in the report. Where is this option set or how to insure it is functioning properly.

XML report missing style sheet location

Hi all
I am having a issue regarding XML report generated by TestStand. I am using a custom style based heavy off NI example style sheet horizontal.xsl. The report generation works correctly on my development system however when the sequence is deployed onto runtime machine the header to the XML report is missing the style sheet location. i.e:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
Rather than:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?><?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="G:\Test\ATE4000_Production_Test_Results\T6MK6\Style_Sheets\T6MK6_PAS_Test_Sheet.xsl"?>
If anyone has any idea what might be causing this issues i would be very greatful for any advice.

Thanks for the reply.
I found the issue. I was determining the location of the style sheet using a registery key. The registry key contained double slashes which resulted in the style sheet not being found. I.e.. C:\\Test\\T6MK6_PAS_Test_Sheet.xsl. With single slashes the program worked as excepted.

How to remove the Failure Chain from report header?

I want to remove the Failure Chain from the report header. Failure chain displays only the 1st test which is failed rather than displaying all failed teststeps. so i want to remove this failure chain section from the report header.
Please can anyone suggest me how to remove that. ?

I am an Application Engineer at National Instruments and will try and help you with your enquiry.
Am I right in thinking you want to be able to display all the failed steps displayed in the failure chain and you are using a Test Stand version 2 or later?
As default Test Stand only reports the first test that failed in the failure chain. However, it is possible to expand the failure chain to show all failed steps. Below is included a KnowledgeBase article that will highlight the process for doing this:

I am using the Teststand 2013 5.1.0.226 and I want to add all the failure steps to my html report. After test the following examples, I it doesn´t work yet:

Report Failure chain loops

After looking at the development zone for adding the failure chain I modifed the reportgen_html.seq file, also copied the folders from NI to User directory and made the Station options to reflect the same; set up the breakpoint in that sequence file.
Once the main sequence comes to an end (which has 3 failuers) it hits the breakpoint and kind of loop in that.
Any suggestion?

In the attached document there is a Sequence "PutOneResultInReport" where below the "Update Failure Stack" I added the steps mentioned in developer zone article http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4563.
Using the example of Computer Motherboard Test Sequence.seq
Setup the breakpoint at "Add All Failed Step"
Selected RAM, ROM and Keyboard Test to fail
After the execution of Computer Motherboard Test Sequence.seq file the execution hits the breakpoint at
Add All Failed Step -> Selected Step into -> The Status for that step is now Skipped -> Clicked Resume many time -> execution loops back at same step Initally Locals.NumElements stays 0 for some time then increases by one everytime I click Resume -> the value of Locals.NumElements is now 79-> Disabled the break point -> Clicked Resume once again -> now the step Add All Failed Step is Done and Generating Report.... = 44% and eveything is stuck

ITunes install failure on Windows desktop report missing MSVCR80.dll

I need iTunes in order to manage my iPad and iPhone4. After download en installing iTunes 11.1.14 on my Windows 7 Ultimate desktop I got a message iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126) and report of missing MSVCR80.dll. I tried several times but got same fallure report. Could anybody help me to solve this problem?

XML Reporting Help

I am trying to setup XML reporting for Sybase on ZFD version 6.5sp2
running on NW 6.5 sp6. I followed the documentation on the setup. I did
notice when I tried to connect to http://ip add:8080/zfdamrServlet/run it
didn't work, if I remove the :8080 I get a page to load with the following
"zfdamrServlet is running". If am correct I should she a table showing
the results from application's that have xml reporting enabled.
I feel I have everything setup correctly. I would appreciate any
assistance on this matter.

The servlet passes the Application Success and Failures launched on the
workstations to the database, that is all. It does not have a page for
viewing the information, this can only be run in consoleone.

XML Report Publisher - Blank Report Request Parameter

I have a custom template and custom data definition in Purchasing application. I ran PO Output For Communication and it generated the PDF. Now I want to do Bursting.
So, I assigned XML Report Publisher and XML Bursting (both out-of-box programs) to Purchasing responsibility. But when I try to run them, I don't see any values in Request ID LOV.
Please suggest what am I missing in there.

NewBiePlease confirm that you have added those concurrent programs to the correct Request Group which is attached to the same responsibility.
From (System Administrator responsibility > Security > Responsibility > Define) query the responsibility name and get the Request Group. Then from (System Administrator responsibility > Security > Responsibility > Request), query the Request Group and add those concurrent programs.

Creating an XML Report from OAF page

Hi All,
I have a requirement to create a PDF report from an OAF page. From the below code , I was able to print the XML with the values.
I know i should map this XML to RTF by creating the Data defiition through XML publisher responsibility.
My understanding :
1. Generate the XML from Conttroller
2. Load the XML to RTF and map the fields
3. Register as Data Definition and RTF
4. Output seen
MY QUESTION IS : If i load the values from the below XML to the RTF and register in the data definition , i will get the same values every time it is right . From my understanding, if the data has to change in the report, ,there should be a way which will directly send the generated xml from the controller to the RTF (Without step2)

Thanks for your reply. I have gone through the link you provided . It gave me excellent information. But just one clarification , when we create the data definition, dont we have to add any of the files like 'XML Schema','Data Template','Preview Data','Bursting Control File'.
The reason, i am asking this question is, when i proviously worked with XML reports in 11.10.2, we used to attach a .xml file to the Data Template of the data definition ,which would populate the RTF.
Now here, if i dont attach that file in the data definition, will the XML data direclty mapped from contrlloer ?. I assume ,The only thing i need to do is to MAP the XML tags to RTF before registering ..
Please let me know if i am missing some thing

XML Report output contains no report column name in it...

I am trying to generate service contract report in XML report. I have done report builder part and registered concurrent program with the .rdf file.
Now when I run the concurrent program for XML output for template load purpose, I get the below output.

Issue with XML report printing on R12 instance

Hi,
I'm facing issue with printing xml reports on R12 instance and followed the note (How To Print XML Publisher PDF Reports Via The Concurrent Manager:metalink id:338990.1) and configured the pasta printer,still printer output is showing the junk charcters.
Please let me know how to resolve the issue?.

We are on 12.1.1 / 11g with AL32UTF8 character set, we have custom reports developed in BI publisher and some some migrated reported from earlier version.
Both BI publisher based custom like PO/Invoice/Cheque Print & seeded reports like "Active users/responsibilites" are being generated successfuly in pdf output. when copied to desktop and printed it prints properly. But when trying to direct output to printer from concurrent request it is printng junk.
I checked pasta configuration, all required ghostscripts tools are on the AIX box, am I missing anything in R12?

XML report display in TestStand 4.0

I've just migrated from TS 3.5 to 4.0. 4.0 is more user friendly than 3.5. But I can't display my XML report after running sequences. If I choose other report format, everything is fine; if XML is set, the report file would be generated but I can't see it at sequence editor. I forgot what I did because at the very beginning, the XML report was OK. I posted my report configuration below and plz take a look.

Hey ADahl,
NI doesn't really support customizing style sheets. There is a great tutorial here: http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/default.asp
It's really not that hard to figure out what to change once you get digging through the style sheets. I found this site helpful when I customized mine: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052H-01/tssuppref/infotopics/report_stylesheets_details/
It lays out the sections so you can read the stylesheet better.
Failures should automatically be included in the report if that step is set to include results. Here is a doc on including other data in a report: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/8289 You should get your globals into the report by using one of the methods in there.
Honestly though when it comes to customizing the style sheet... there are a million and 1 ways to go about it. What I did was comb through the xsl file until I found the header information. Then I just added my own stuff in there and kind of copied off the format they had for the other stuff. Now it's looking great. I had to tweak some things here and there to get it exactly right.

Test report must filter test failures to top of report.

Hello All,
I currently run lots of small labview tests and generate a long HTML report with the results. Engineers are requesting the failures filter to the top of the report as they want to quickly see the fails. I am hoping this functionality can be set from testand without having to rejig each test in the test suite.
Advice appreciated.

Another way is to modify the "Failure chain" list in the UUT header so that it displays all failed steps.
