FAS2240-4 with controllers in standalone mode

Hello all. We have a dual controller FAS2240-4 running ONTAP 8.3, with 1 controller (intentionnally) left unplugged. We cannot use both controllers in a cluster configuration, because doing so requires a 10GbE interconnect, which on a FAS2240 can only be provided by the mezzanine card, and the mezzanine slot is already used by an FC card, for tape backups and more. Anyway, since cluster mode won't work, is it possible to have both controllers running in standalone mode ?Will I be able to make use of the ADP root space left on the internal drives ?Or will I be able to totally disconnect the secondary controller from internal storage, and use some DS14 shelves that I have hanging around ? The ultimate goal would be to have the secondary controller running 7-Mode for OSSV backups until NetApp comes with an OSSV alternative for Cluster Mode.Does it sound totally crazy, or can this be achieved in a safe way ?

With the HA interconnect (internal in the shelf chassis), I don't think it would ever be supported to have both 7-Mode and cDOT.. but might be worth asking the account team to file a request (engineering PVR) to see if supported...but again, don't think it would be approved.  I would run cDOT on the single node and get another chassis to run the other controller in 7-Mode on 8.2 since there is no 7-Mode in 8.3. I don't see anything in the documentation that says you can't use ADP root partitioning on a single node.  If you're not running ADP currently, you need to unassign all the disks, then run special boot option 4 to zero the disks out. Before connecting DS14s, check the hardware universe hwu.netapp.com to confirm support for both the shelf, esh/at-fcx modules and drives.  Only ESH4 and AT-FCX are supported but confirm for disk type as well.

  • Using multiple SSID with AP 1100 (standalone mode).

Hi, need to configure 2 SSID on the same 1100 AP: open authentication and WPA2. It's possible to configure these 2 SSID without configuring VLAN's ?
On CCO I've read the following:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_qanda_item09186a008009483e.shtml
    Q. How many service set identifiers (SSIDs) can you have per VLAN?
    A. You can have only one SSID per VLAN. The use of multiple SSIDs over a single VLAN is not supported with Aironet APs.
It's also true with the latest IOS release ?

    Hi Roberto,
Hopefully the attached docs will answer your question:

Deprecated versions of Cisco Aironet software permit binding multiple SSIDs to one VLAN. Current versions do not.

  • Issue with opening Deski in standalone mode through command line

    Hi,
I am using the below command to open deski in the background, in standalone mode. I keep getting the login prompt. Please suggest the correction that needs to be done
"...\busobj.exe" -user "" -pass "" -nologo -auth "standalone" -system ""

Looks like it might be bug 15982024 where the target is already part of a cluster.   Can you check your unpromoted targets (Setup -> Add Target -> Auto Discovery Results -> tab Agent Based Targets) and see if a cluster on either of those hosts is already discovered but not yet promoted.  If so, you can try to delete that discovered cluster, and retry the cmd.
    Log File Locations
The following examples show possible log file locations:
Example 2-3 No Configuration Directory Specified with Setup Verb (default location)
    user.home/.emcli/.emcli.log user.home/.emcli/.emcli.log.1
If you do not specify a configuration directory when you run the setup verb (-dir option is omitted), EM CLI assumes the .emcli configuration directory is located within your local home directory. The log files are placed at the root level of the .emcli directory. The .emcli directory must be local (not mounted remotely).

  • How to interface AXI BRAM Controller with Block Memory generator in Single Port ROM(standalone mode)

    Hi,
I initialized the block memory with coe file to use it as single port ROM in standalone mode. So, the data width of ROM is 32 bits and depth of 62000(this would need 16 bit address for reading).  AXI BRAM controller was instantiated in Block design and data width was set to 32.
But upon synthesis, I get following error
[BD 41-1228] Width mismatch when connecting input pin '/blk_mem_gen_0/addra'(16) to net 'axi_bram_ctrl_0_bram_addr_a'(14) - Only lower order bits will be connected, and other input bits of this pin will be left unconnected.
So, the problem is BRAM controller 's interface which has bram_addr_a of only 14 bits. This is strange. I don't know how bram_addr_a width is determined?

    ,
Are you sure you have 62000 x 32-bits in your coe and not just 62000 bytes? That could explain the 2-bit difference. 8-bit bytes versus 32-bit words.
I tried this with Block Memory Generator 8.2 (Vivado 2015.1) and looks ok. Setting up a Single-Port ROM with 32 width and 62000 depth shows addres Width A: 16 in the Summary and the generated files show 16 bit address as well:
    -bisector

Using the OTN2 tech preview build 4684 now available on OTN, I used the JDEVHOME/jdev/bin/start_oc4j script to startup the embedded server in standalone mode and cannot reproduce these errors.
Can you try with build 4684 from OTN and see if the same issue still reproduces?
If so, does it occur even before ever deploying any applications of your own to the instance?

  • Can I configure Cisco 1602i (AIR-CAP1602I-T-K9) in Standalone mode ?

Hi everybody, please, i need some help here.
    I bought 3 Cisco 1602i (AIR-CAP1602I-T-K9) but I didn't bought a Controller. How can I configure then in Standalone mode ?
I Saw in other forums, i need to change the IOS Software to an Autonomous Software. They suggested the ap1g2-k9w7-tar.152-4.JA1.tar. I would like to know if it is the right software and if there is any problem with licensing if i download and use it.

    Hi,
Yes you must need to change to autonomous mode.Yes it is the right software and you will not face any problem regarding license.
But for download the autonomous AP image from cisco you need a CCO (Cisco login) and valid service contract .
Here is the latest image:Can download from here

    hi,
How to minimize a browser window or force the window to lost
    the focus in standalone mode?
The window is open with the getURL command

It's only a guess but I don't think Flash can do that. So
many things in Flash aren't made for security purposes. Too bad :/.
But this is only a guess. I'm not sure if it can actually
change focus and force on it. If there is something to control the
SAPlayer, it would be in fscommand but there's nothing to control
    this. Sorry.

  • Starting the opmn managed OC4J in standalone mode ?

    Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 10.1.3 production version of the applicartion server.
i use opmn to start the server "opmnctl startall"
by starting oc4j in this manner i am unable to get thread dumps, so i tried to start the server in standalone mode by using " java -jar oc4j.jar" but it fails to start throwing an error "unable to start HTTP Server" default website configuration may not be valid: Fatal error: server exiting
    Please help
    Thanks

    Deepak,
    Thanks for replying
i am basically into performance engineering. in our team we basically put the application on a production environment and test for Performace scalability reliability etc now i need thread dumps at one particular load which can only be simulated in a large production environment.
Today i googled a lot and found some methods
    1. A tool called Stacktrace.exe which allows to get thread dumps from java processes started as windows service
-----but this is not working for me since intenet is blocked on my app server and this tool can only be run online
    2. their are a couple of free ware utilities which allow to get stack trace by giving input as PID ---here also i could not get, bcos of some of issue with user rights
    3. unixtool utility which runs on window--basically has unix commands simulated on windows--this allows to send kill -3 signal
    4. Last method--use JRockit JVM and get thread dumps from the JRockit Management console
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have a stack of 8 3750x switches connected via Stackwise.  In addition, I have these switches configured as two Powerstacks. When I look at the Powerstacks, they are showing as being in power-sharing mode.  When I look at the individual switches, they show as standalone.   Right now, I have 1 switch in each powerstack that has two power supplies, and then the other three have a single power supply. Switch(config-switch-stackpower)#sta
    Switch(config-switch-stackpower)#no stan
    Switch(config-switch-stackpower)#no standalone
You will see that in the running configuration it shows up as standalone mode
    stack-power switch 1
    switch mode: standalone
    stack-power switch 2
    switch mode: standalone
    Conditions:
3750X stacks with any license level
    Workaround:

  • OCMS & Communicator connection in Standalone mode

I have problems in connecting OCMS to Communicator. Here is what I did:
    1. Installed OCMS in standalone mode, with SIP container, Presence Server and Presence Webservices ONLY (I am only interested in presence server)
    2. Installed Communicator
    3. Started OCMS, it comes up successfully
    4. Started Communicator
Everything is on my local PC. But when I start Communicator, it just sits there, with the message "Trying to connect to <my domain>"
    Can someone please help ?
    Thanks
    -G

If your OCMS instance is on the same machine as your Communicator, you may be experiencing known loopback problems. To fix the issue, first
    1. Close all your Communicator clients.
    2. go to your Communicator account settings, typically in C:\Documents and Settings\<windows-user>\Application Data\Oracle Communicator\Accounts\<communicator-user>.xml
    3. Set <NetDetectionEnabled>0</NetDetectionEnabled>
    4. Save the file and restart Communicator.
    Hope this helps,

  • Enable neon in standalone mode of zynq board

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to develop a simple applicaiton to process some float matrix data on a zynq board in standalone mode, and I want to use neon to speed up the float data processing, below is my operation:
    1. add compiler flag "-mcpu=cortex-a9 -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=neon" in my application compiler, an error occured when build:
error: ./src/helloworld.o uses VFP register arguments, arm0_app.elf does not
    2. I think this error is because of my bsp don't support hardware float (my application is managed to running on arm0 and based on the fsbl bsp), so I tried to enable hard float in my bsp by adding the above complier flag to the "extra_compiler_flag" of the bsp, and I met a new error:
        "Compiling standalone"
arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc: error: -mfloat-abi=soft and -mfloat-abi=hard may not be used together
I found that the default setting of build platform library standalone is as below
    (in file: $\ps7_cortexa9_0\libsrc\standalone_v3_10_a\src\Makefile):
    ECC_FLAGS    += -march=armv7-a \
                   -mfloat-abi=soft \
                   -mfpu=neon
seems the default setting of standalone is soft float, and this Makefile is produced automatically, I could not modify it directly, can somebody help me to fix the issue, or you can just tell me how to modify the Makefile to support hard float?
    Thank you very much!

    Leo,
There was a glimmer of hope that was quickly dashed.
Switch 1 (now disconnected from stack with cable between stack port 1 and 2) booted, ran for 30 -120 seconds then got the same %Software-forced reload.
I had something going on in there so I have formatted the flash: file system from the bootloader prompt. I'm sending xmodem xfer again to see if there might have been some random 'ghost' due to numerous power outages / crashes etc..
    I'll keep trying for now.

  • I can't get volume on Main Output to work correctly with controllers on my keyboard. It's either all on or all off. Works fine for individual instruments (thought it lumps them all together) but not for main volume output on concert. Thanks for any help.

All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Some are typically "preallocated" to 'standard functions: CC1= Modulation, CC7=Volume, CC10+Pan, CC11= 'Expression'. Some act as switches such as 'Sustain' CC64.

Everything appears to be scaled from -63 to +64 if that's what you mean by scaling?  What do you mean by MIDI CC7?
Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.
This mapping can be done basically two ways (with MS 2.2):
    a) Make a Screen Control in Layout mode, and assign it to a particular incoming MIDI CC message. Then, you can map this Screeen Control to a variety of parameters such as the volume of a particular channel strip.
    b) With MS 2.2, you can do the above Assign and Mapping directly, without the need for Screen Controls as an 'intermediary'.

    Yes.
It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).
