FB 4.5 BlazeDS Bug ?

I deleted and re-added some BlazeDS services to my Flex project which was started with Flex 4 and migrated to Flex 4.5.
BlazeDS generates this line of code: _serviceControl.convertResultHandler = mx.data.TypeUtility.convertResultHandler;
...which throws this error in the IDE:
Description    Resource    Path    Location    Type
1119: Access of possibly undefined property convertResultHandler through a reference with static type Class.
The error goes away when I manually replace the offensive line of code with this:
_serviceControl.convertResultHandler = com.adobe.serializers.utility.TypeUtility.convertResultHandler;
Some other people seem to be having this problem as well:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/860130?tstart=0
Is there a fix available for this so I don't have to manually hack my generated BlazeDS classes ?
Thanks!

Hi,
I am experiencing the same issue with Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 but unable to revert.
I get the same error message "No repository found containing: ....."
I added the 2 unzipped folders from http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-31218 to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\eclipse\features\".
I do NOT have the following files in my file system:
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.rds.core_4.5.304901.v20110217.jar"
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.rds.dataview_4.5.304901.v20110217.jar"
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.model.core_4.5.304901.v20110217.jar"
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Charlie

  • More FB 4.5 BlazeDS bugs

For FB 4.5 Plugin Mac Cocoa 32 bit:
    1. I am having trouble deleting and adding BlazeDS services from the Flash Builder perspective.
    2. Re-adding a service now forces me to create an additional valueObject instead of re-using the
one I already created with another service. This is the first time I've seen this behavior since
until now the tool was smart enough to reuse the existing VO.
    3. BlazeDS pops open a dialog box 'The following data types are already present or have
conflicting properties on your project. Please rename the types or '<serviceName> will be
prefixed to the existing name". The only option on the dialog box is an 'OK' button. When I
click on the OK button, the service is created (versus giving me the ability to rename the
service...which is not something I want to do nor should I have to)

This problem went away after I shut down my computer completely then restarted it.
Shutting down and restarting the IDE did not cure it.
UPDATE: I couldn't find a way to delete this post:
Restarting my machine does not fix the problem. I now have corrupted ValueObjects.

  • [svn] 4291: Merge SDK fix to BlazeDS

    Log Message:
    Merge SDK fix to BlazeDS
Bug: BLZ-288 - Consumer is only receiving first pushed message when Consumer and RemoteObject that is used to push the messages use different channel sets but same channel.
    QA: Yes
    Doc: No
    Checkintests Pass: Yes
    Details:
    * The bug app was arguably generating bogus test data (messages with duplicate ids), and 99.9% of applications won't be configured this way (using multiple ChannelSets with overlapping Channels, pointing at the same server) but it's still worth making this work just right anyways.

  • BlazeDS "Configure return type" not working with Hibernate lazy fetching

I am using the new BlazeDS 4 with Flash Builder 4.
    Backend configuration: Spring 3.0 + Spring-BlazeDS 1.0.3 + Hibernate 3.5
I have successfully configured my Spring-BlazeDS project based on this excellent video tutorial by James Ward.
    The problem:
While trying to use the "Configure return type" option for one of my service calls, or the "Test operation" option, I get the following exception thrown:
InvocationTargetException:There was an error while  invoking the operation. Check your server settings and try invoking the  operation again.
Reason: Server error failed to lazily initialize a  collection of role:  com.xyz.product.domain.MyEntityClass.myLazyCollection, no  session or session was closed null
I am well aware of lazy loading issues and configured Gilead to handle this, hopefully with success although I cannot indicate this for sure yet.
However - in this case, i'm not certain it's even related to Gilead, because this is happening on server side and not on client as far as I understand so Gilead isn't playing its role in removing the proxy associations. BlazeDS however is trying to fully inspect whatever object graph it gets, and appearantly does that outside of a persistence session scope, hence the LazyInitializationException.
Is this a BlazeDS bug? Can BlazeDS do the objects inspection within a provided open persistence context session to avoid this?
    See also stacktrace from server:

does anyone have an idea of what could it be?
notice that this doesn't bother me because if i use the glibc from the repositories everything works fine, this is just for curiosity of why it doesn't work
    thanks in advance
You have stripped glibc too much.  See the Arch PKGBUILD and make sure your makepkg.conf has STRIP_BINARY etc defined.

The source of the problem is here: flex.messaging.config.MessagingConfiguration.reportUnusedProperties(MessagingConfiguratio n.java:750)
Your code is fine, it is BlazeDS bugs, that they don't want to fix, have a look at this bug: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/BLZ-143
I still can't understand a rationale behind this, but this is the way it is.
To get pass this error you HAVE to call
    properties.getPropertyAsString("fooBar", null);
    in
public void initialize(String id, ConfigMap properties)
    method.
Have a look at my adapter for example:
    http://code.google.com/p/flexserverlib/wiki/EJBAdapter

I'm trying to build the 3.0.0.544 source. My 'ant main' works fine until it gets to the testdrive-remoteobject directory where it hangs forever building target compile-swf. I did a 'ant clean' before main.
Any ideas what might be going on?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Can you mention the eclipse version you are using? And the platform in which you are trying to build?
I feel its always better to be platform specific when you go in for headless build. I can see that the configs value in your properties file is "configs=*,*,*". Try changing it to appropriate value and build your product. For example, I use "configs=win32, win32, x86" for building my product in 32-bit windows machine.
