Federated Search Error - Hello World Sample
Hello,
I am trying to setup a Federated Search using the example HelloWorldSearch.war (java version). I am relatively new to the Portal Technology, but have extensive experience in web app development.
I am getting an error when I try to run my Federated Search. "Error - Error executing search on Test Federated Search : Federated search of federated portal object 200 could not be executed. The federated portal may be configured incorrectly." Any Ideas?
I have created 3 Portal Objects:
1) Remote Server - this points to my Tomcat instance - http://msc_tesposito1:8080/
2) Search Web Service - which points to app/service. I have specified "HelloWorldSearch/services/SearchProviderSoapBinding" and linked it to my Remote Server Instance.
3) Federated Search - linked this to my Search Web Service.
I then took the HelloWorldSearch-Java.war file from the samples provided, renamed it to HelloWorldSearch.war and dropped it in my Tomcat webapps directory. I can hit the web service just fine by executing "http://msc_tesposito1:8080/HelloWorldSearch/services/SearchProviderSoapBinding".
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I might be able to do to get this working?

Manheim, Inc.

It works fine on my local tomcat. All this search returns is - "Place holder" string, it's harcoded there.
It seems you have registered exemple by manual. Try use migration tool - ...\plumtree\ptportal\5.0\bin\native\ptmigration.bat
As soon as migration(import) is done all you need to do is change url to your actual remote server

Adobe Drive not connecting to hello world sample launched via Eclipse
I'm trying to get the hello world sample running with Drive SDK 5. I got:
Adobe Drive 5.0.1
AdobeDriveSDK-5.0.0.398770.zip
latest Java JRE 1.6
Eclipes 4.3.1 (Kepler SR 1)
Windows 7 64bit
I configured the hello world project as described in the getting started guide. I double checked that AD4ServiceManager.exe is not running. After starting the project in Eclipse and waiting about 15 seconds, all bundles are active:
osgi> ss
Framework is launched.

Afterwards, I start Adobe Drive (32bit version). The UI hangs with the message "Adobe Drive is starting. Please wait.". From task manager I can see that not just Adobe Drive was started, but also AD4ServiceManager.exe. I guess, this should not happen, because Adobe Drive should discover the one launched via Eclipse.
So what's going wrong here? How does Adobe Drive discover the one launched via Eclipse? What could block discovery?
Here more details in case that helps debugging the problem. MANIFEST.MF:

Here the Eclipse run configuration settings:Wow, this seems to help even though it is still a bit shaky. Here the steps I have to do to get it working:
manually launch 64bit version of AD4ServiceManager.exe with parameter -launchedbydrive
launch Eclipse project and wait till ss shows everything as registered (much faster now)
start 64bit version of Drive -> my adapter doesn't show up
shutdown drive
start 64bit version of Drive again -> my adapter now shows up and works as expected
I find a few things confusing here:
In Eclipse, should I configure the 32bit or 64bit version of AD4ServiceManager as plugin execution environment? Currently, I'm using the 32bit version.
Why isn't the step of manually launching AD4ServiceManager.exe not mentioned in the getting started guide?
I will reboot my machine to see if it is still working or just some special sun radiation making it work currently :-) -
GX Error (GX2GX) for bank or hello world sample applications
Hi,
I installed IAS 6.5 on Win 2000 professional. I tested my installation by accessing the fortune sample application. Yes, it works fine. However, when I deployed the Hello World or Bank sample application, I keep seeing this error:
"GX Error (GX2GX)
socket result code missing!!!".
I have ensure that both the applications were deployed correctly. The deployment tool did not report any error. I am also able to see the 2 applications from the IAS administration tool. I then went to the HTTPAPI subkey in the IAS registry and set the DebugMode to 5. I saw the following message

Any idea what is wrong??? Please help... Thank you in advance for your help.If you're trying to run the Ant scripts, I think I know how you feel. Here's what I do to seed new test users into a new installation:
1. Download the workflow-001-DemoCommunitySeedApp.zip File -> Go to http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/install/installing_obpm11g.htm#s6. -> Click Demo Community Seed Application.
2. Unzip the zip file
Unzip the contents of the workflow-001-DemoCommunitySeedApp.zip file into a directory. (For these instructions, I will assume you unzipped it into a C:\stageFMW\democommunity directory.)
3. Deploy the Associated EAR File Deploy
Deploy the SOATestDemoApp.ear EAR file located in your C:\stageFMW\democommunity\DemoCommunitySeedApp directory to your Managed Server. This is done by:
Loggin into the WebLogic Administration Console (e.g., http://<your machine>:<your port number>/console)
In the upper left corner under Domain Structure click Deployments
Click the "Install" button
Upload the EAR file by clicking the upload your file link.
Select the SOATestDemoApp.ear file and click Next -> Next
Select Install this deployment as an application and click Next
Check the correct checkbox to deploy the application to the Admin (if there is no SOA Managed Server) or the SOA Managed Server (if it exists) - typically this is just "soa_server1"
Once deployed, stop and restart the Admin and Managed Servers
4. Run the Servlet to Seed the Users
Run the servlet by opening your browser to: (if you have a managed server) http://<yourmachinename>:8001/integration/SOADemoCommunity/DemoCommunitySeedServlet or (if you deployed it to the admin server) http://<yourmachinename>:7001/integration/SOADemoCommunity/DemoCommunitySeedServlet
Select Seed Community and then click the Submit button. -
Hi, I have developed a few federated search agents against our document management system. The search agents work great, etc, EXCEPT for one glitch. When the search is invoked, the portal contacts the search agent and the search builds the document result set and sends it back, all basic stuff. So, if i get 150 results the page display would show display 1-20 of 150. The problem arises when i click next to get the next set of data. The portal shows me the same 20 dsocuments i was looking at but says 21-40 of 150. Now if I click next and then previous or previous and then next it shows me the correct 21-40 documents and all others are fine. Upon investigsting the issue, I found that the portal was contacting the search agent once to get the search result, but when the user hit next for the first time the portal contacted the search agent again and reran the federated search, but everyother next or previous click after that it did not. Any ideas? it's almost like it forgot that it contacted the search agent the first time. Has anyone experienced this problem or know of a bug. The search agent was built verbatum from Plumtree documentation and even reviewed by Plumtree to no avail :(
What is the soap request saying for the following values? If the number to return is set to 10, for the second request, it should be:
<NumberToSkip >10</NumberToSkip> <MaximumReturn >10</MaximumReturn>
The only (non-bug) reason that NumberToSkip should not be set is if the TotalNumberOfHits was set to less than 10 (or whatever you have set for the number returned). -
[Sun Federation Manager] Error deploying a sample
Hi all,
I'm currently working on the sun java system federation manager and I simply try to deploy a sample, as written in the readme file. The readme.txt tells that :
1. Update sp1Metadata.xml (available in <sample_xml_dir>)
The following assumptions are made in sp1Metadata.xml.
a. IDP1_PROTO is the protocol for IDP1, eg. http.
b. IDP1_HOST is the hostname for IDP1, eg. www.idp1.com.
c. IDP1_PORT is the port for IDP1, eg. 58080.
d. IDP1_DEPLOY_URI is the deploy URI for IDP1, eg. /federation.
e. SP1_SECURITY_KEY is the certificate alias for SP1.
f. IDP1_SECURITY_KEY is the certificate alias for IDP1.
Update above values in sp1Metadata.xml as per your deployment. SP1_SECURITY_KEY and IDP1_SECURITY_KEY are required only when you want to enable xml digital signature signing. If the keystore has not been configured yet, remove the iplanet-am-certificate-alias attribute value pair from the XML file.
2. Load sp1Metadata.xmlusing following command.
<begin_dir>/bin/amadmin -i <war_dir> -u amadmin -w <amadmin password> -t <sample_xml_dir>/sp1Metadata.xml
First step : no problem :)
Second step : I get this error :
Error 9: Operation failed: Can't find ressource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key invalidconfigfile
java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find ressource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key invalidconfigfile
and I didn't find why this error is thrown :( I'm working on a Windows XP SP2 station with NetBeans 5.5 RC2 + Enterprise Pack 5.5 Beta.
Thanks for the help
Best regards !
@++I am now working on deployment of sun one access manager. I have deployed as a single war in application server. But i am not able to see the access manager console as it shows file not found exception, Can anyone help me to resolve?

I tried suggestions at other trhead but nothing worked. Even undeployed manually everything and doesnt help. Why it cant find the file since it is there?

Setting up TomCat on Vista for simple hello world sampl (usingxWire maybe)
Re-entering Java after many years working with c#/vb.net only.
Does anyone have any links for a newbie setting up/configuring a machine to get me started.
Thank you!
hazzThank you Martin!
I was about ready to download Eclipse.
I see 3 versions; With TomCat being a J2EE web server do I get 2 below?
1. Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
2. Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers
3. Eclipse Classic 3.3.2

Anybody can suggest quick sample 'Hello World' with ADF/JSF to deploy on WC
We are using JDeveloper 11g, and Web Center 10.1.3.2.
We have Oracle Portals 10.1.2.0.2
We want to develop a portlet and deploy it to WC 10.1.3.2 to use it in Portals 10.1.2.0.2.
Could anybody suggest any working "Hello World' sample with ADF/JSF to deploy on WC 10.1.3.2 WSRP.
TIAJust to clarify. Oracle Portal 10.12.0.2 did not support WSRP based portlets (this was introduced in 10.1.4 or Portal) as such you would need to develop a JPDK based portlet in order to use it in both Portal 10.1.2.0.2 and WebCenter. If you upgrade the portal to 10.1.4 you will be able to use a WSRP 1.0 based portlet in both products (WebCenter also supports the draft WSRP2.0 extensions so make sure that you register the correct WSDL file)
If you are trying to use JSF components within the Portlet itself you will need to use the JSF Portlet Bridge which accounts for the differences in lifecycle between JSF and WSRP. -
I am a newbie to Flash Media Development Server 3, on Vista,
trying to get the Hello World sample to work.
When I follow the instructions and place the Hello World

a "read only" error. I have used the publish settings to make sure
the default paths are used. I read about MS file folder permissions
using cmd prompt ATTRIB, but discovered if I place the Hello World
folder on my desktop I don't get the "read only" error.
I'm seeing the connect button, when I publish to html, but
when I hit the button I just get the disconnect button, and no
"Hello World".
I have the .as, .fla, .swf files on my desktop Hello World
folder, and the .asc in the applications/Hello World folder.
Could someone give me some advice on how to get Hello World
working?
Thank You.I'm new at this myself so this may or may not help but I think you have a syntax error...
You have:
System.out.printIn("Hello World!");
I think it should be:
System.out.println("Hello World!");
You have the letter "I" ("I"ndia) where a "l" ("l"etter) should be used in the term "println"
Hope that does it... -

1) Check your using the correct version of Jdev with your instance.
Metalink note 416708.1 - How to find the correct version of JDeveloper to use with eBusiness Suite 11i or Release 12
Will give the mappings.
And check the Jdev setting

I am having trouble with the Hello World program in JDeveloper RUP7 setup.
And I have searched these forums, but no threads describe this exact issue.
When I run the Hello World, the first page appears fine, with all the links showing.
However, when I click on any of the links in the page, then I get an error,
and the page dumps me to our main Applications Login screen.
The error I get (after clicking on a link) is:
Unexpected URL parameters have been detected and will be ignored
And the link I click on in Hello World application is:

Any advice is greatly appreciated.Thank you both for your input.
I was already using my Oracle user acct, which had been setup properly.
But when installing JDeveloper, I did not see any mention of:
Tools -> Preferences -> Embedded OC4J -> Default Local IP Address (Recommended)
Selecting that option solved my problem.
Also, I had been investigating the advice in this other thread, but it did not help:

HOW T0: Create a "Hello, World!" sample project.
HOWTO: The "Hello, World!" Sample Project
Follow these steps to create, compile, and run a simple Java program in JDeveloper:
1.Create a project. Choose File | New Empty Project. A new project node, with a name resembling MyProject1.jpr will appear
in the Navigation pane.
2.Create a Java file. Make sure your project node is selected, and choose File | New. The Object Gallery opens. Select the Objects
tab and double-click the Class icon. In the Class Wizard dialog that opens:
1.Replace the default class name with "HelloWorld".
2.Click OK.
A new file node, named HelloWorld.java will appear under your project node.
3.Edit the file. Double-click the file node to open the file. Edit the file, adding this method to the definition of the HelloWorld class.
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("Hello, World!");
4.Build the project. Choose Project | MakeProject. A message will appear, reporting success or failure, in the Status line at the
bottom of the JDeveloper window. If there are errors they will be listed in the Message View pane, under the Compiler tab.
5.Run the project. When the project has been successfully built, Choose Run | Run. Your message will be printed in the Message
View pane, under the HelloWorld tab.

Could you please help me on this.
Thank you,
Keshav ChHi Keshav,
hard to say without seeing your source code. I'd recommend to try it with the Hello World approach that you can find here: http://www.ateam-oracle.com/case-management-in-practice-helloworld/
There you'll find in detail how to create a case mgmt. project and how to test it. If this doesn't work please send some details regarding your environment (Patchset, applied patches, etc.)
Regards, Danilo
