hi,
I would say, do you need so many animations? they get a bit anoying. I would consider slowing them down, or maybe cutting them down a bit. Think of other creative ways for you adverts. simple image and text. stuff like that.

Is there a way to set which keychain item is used by default for a site/application?

This question applies primarily to the keychain in Mavericks, but also the iCloud keychain and its use in iOS.
There are several sites and services for which I have multiple logins that serve different purposes. Whether it's because they are business/personal accounts, or accounts that pertain to different functions, I have multiple logins for many sites/services I use daily, however, there is usually one primary account for each that I use for most purposes.
What I would like to be able to do is set which of these logins appears by default. An example scenario might be if I have an "admin" account on a site, and a "dev" account that is used for testing purposes to Q/A the site from the perspective of a user who doesn't have administrative access. Most of my work happens under "admin" but whenever I go to the login page, the "dev" account prepopulates in the login form and I have to start typing admin and select that. It also does this on my iPhone, which is where this issue becomes very cumbersome, because there is no dropdown for me to select which credentials to use to autofill from. It appears to only allow autofill from whatever it sees as the first account to come up, and I can't seem to change that without deleting all the other keychain items that come up ahead of the one that I want. This kind of thing also poses a significant risk of accidents if, say, I have multiple payment methods saved and the one that comes up by default isn't my personal payment method, but a business account that's only meant to be used for business purchases. If that comes up first, if I don't replace it with my personal details, I might accidentally place a personal charge on a business account.
So I really have 2 questions:
1) Is there a way to set the priority order of which account populates a form by default from the keychain?
2) When filling out credentials on iOS, an "autofill" button appears at the top of my keyboard, and I can begin typing in a field and it will show the autocomplete of the username that I am typing, but if I click autofill, it replaces it with the original credentials and not those of whatever I began typing in. If I click on the username it's autocompleting, it just clears the autocomplete. Is there some way to choose which username I'm autocompleting a form with?
Thanks to anyone who has any ideas about a solution to this, and if there isn't, and if anyone at Apple is listening, in an ideal world, it would be like setting the priority order of known wifi networks, where you can drag your first choice to the top of the list.

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)

Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.

Coming from a video background as I do I look at the animation on the home page first. The transitions are fast for the feel you are looking to produce and the Google logo is in need of help. It looks like you grabbed a bitmap version of the text and enlarged it too much. Try this website:

I have found thousands of logos that I use in my day to day work. You will need to register, for free, in order to download the vector based artworks but it is all worth it.
The contact page bothers me from both an aesthetic and technical standpoint. The huge image that carries through all the pages makes browsing difficult since all the pages look exactly alike but on the contact page you have created three listings for departments in your company that have the same phone number as the info in the footer. You have the same number on the page 4 times, this is too many. I understand the repetition thing is great but 4 times.
Also, instead of the list of email addresses that robots can grab for junk mail, I would expect a technology company to use a form for email communications on the contact page. This method is not only more refined and common but also protects your email accounts from spammers.
One thing that I am seeing all over the internet is the over use of stock photography. There was a huge mix-up in the last election cycle with organizations using stock photography in order to make the more extreme ideologies look more mainstream and it backfired in no small way.
I know the allure of stock images, I have and still use them, but nothing will ever take the place of an image of the building the business is in or the people who make up the backbone of a service orientated company. The site has a canned and un-personal feel that is the direct result of stock photo overusage. Get the company leaders into a local portrait studio for some headshots and snap off some good looking images of the facility, it will warm up the site immensely.

Safari user name and password for secure sites

I just sent the following to "Mac OS X Feedback"
Some secure sites like brokers, e.g., Ameritrade, do no allow autofill in Safari for the user name and password. In fact Safari does not even ask if you want to remember the user name and password just entered for such sites.
I would like to suggest that something be done for users in such cases:
1) A dialog box comes up warning that this website does not allow autofill.
2) A suggestion is made as to what network setting needs to be changed to allow autofill to work
3) A fix in Safari to take care of this problem
4) Add something to Safari help
Does anyone have a work around for this problem?

Think about what would happen if someone gained access to your Mac, say while you were briefly away from your desk or whatever. They launch Safari, go to the login web page of (for instance) your bank & discover that autofill has helpfully filled in your user name & password so all they have to do to get access to your accounts is click the login button.
From there, they can transfer all your assets to some other account (theirs!) or invest in FlyByNight.com or whatever -- they can do anything your password lets you do with any password-protected account ... anything!
Take this a step further. Say you have enabled auto-login to your primary account at startup, or have used an easy-to-guess account password for it. Someone steals your computer ... & with it potential access to all your online accounts with autofill entries.
Not a pretty picture, is it?

Create layout for Team Site

I created simple html file. I opened SPD 2013 and put this file into the All Files/_catalog/masterpage folder.
I opened Design Manager and convert it to a SharePoint master page. Conversion was successful.
In the Design Manager I clicked Edit Page Layouts and created new layout.
The Enterprise Wiki Page Content Type was selected.
I have SharePoint 2013 Team Site.
I published master page and page layout from Master pages and page layouts Gallery.
In the Look and Feel I selected Master page then set my created master page as default.
The master page of Team site was changed to my newly created master page.
I edited the page and clicked Text Layout. There was not my layout in the drop down .
How to create layout for Team site?
I would be very grateful for any help.

Input requested: Issues in upgrading search for public site to 2013

We have a fully branded 2010 public site that uses search. In our upgrade to 2013:
We'd would prefer not to perform the visual upgrade because we don't want to update our master pages and page layouts.
Search currently uses a 2010 search scope to limit results to the single site collection - there are other portals on the farm.
We can't use the new 2013 result sources that replace search scopes, so I'm looking for a good way to limit search results. I know I could create a separate search service app for the portal, but I'd prefer not to do that.
Does anyone see a way to do this without performing the 2013 visual upgrade OR using custom development OR creating a new search service application that serves just the 2013. I know I'm asking to have my cake and eat it, too, but I want to exhaust
all easy options before I try something more complex.

As I understand, you are concerning about custom branding and search scope issues when upgrading from SharePoint 2010 to 2013 version.
For custom branding, SharePoint 2013 introduces a new user interface that is lightweight, fast, and fluid. To get this new experience, you must upgrade to the new UI. If your site collection contains custom branding, we recommend that, before you upgrade,
you first create an evaluation site collection where you can test and re-create your custom branding in a SharePoint 2013 environment. For more information:

Recommded DAG for 4 site Exchange Org

Hi,
I'm with client that has 4 Exchange/AD sites: Virgiinia, California, UK and Germany.
All sites are well connected. Each Database has 3 copies total (CA and VA sharing copies, UK and Germany sharing copies). What would be the best solution in this scenario to have one DAG or 2 DAGS (one for europe and one for America)? Please factor in the
scenario where the link between Europe and North America goes down even though there are no databases being share between the two continents.

Calendar view on page for Published site.

I have a subsite, and I create a calendar for meetings, on a new page I added a web part to show the calendar (calendar view). when I logged on the site, each event has their one link to details, (disform.aspx?id= something) but as soon I publish the
page, and go and use the browser as anonymous (not logged), I can see the calendar but I don't have links to see the details of the event.
I know this work because on the same site I have another subsite with another calendar and it is working just fine, i tried and I know I did it in another site, I just don't have links in this one.
the collapse or add links show up and work fine, it is just the link to the events detail. Someone can help me?

I did a test in my environment with anonymous access in the publish site and the event is in the calendar.
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest you do as followings:
1. Check the anonymous access in the site settings-> site permission->Anonymous Access->Entire Web Access.
2. Check if you have deactived the feature “limited-access user permission lock down mode” feature in site collection feature.
3. If the issue still exists, I suggest you recreate a calendar to test whether it works.

Manually editing NetworkConfig.xml for multi-site VPN

I'm designing a network comprised of on-premise, Azure East US VNet and Azure North Central US VNet. East will be my production VNet and North Central will be backup/dev. I want them routed together as well and accessible via on premise-VPN with RRAS and
using point-to-site. I have successfully made all these connections individually in test scenarios but never simultaneously as the portal only has one field for a site-to-site VPN and this scenario requires two.
I understand it's possible to create this design by editing the NetworkConfig.xml file. However, it's confusing to me why even when making small or no edits to the NetworkConfig.xml file the portal tells me my existing networks will be deleted and re-created.
Does that take out my gateway IPs, etc as well? If so, I'll have to re-enter all the new IPs in RRAS and basically start from scratch. I have a few test VMs in each VNet as well to test connectivity between sites. I'm guessing those would have to go too or
the VNets wouldn't be able to be deleted in the first place.
Also, an unrelated static network that I make no changes to in the xml file says it will be updated when I upload even an unchanged NetworkConfig.xml. This is concerning as it's hard to know what downtime and issues I'm going to cause if I save the new file.
Any tips would be appreciated. My sense is you have to have your whole design in your head first, get it into the NetworkConfig.xml and then move forward with creating the gateways and entering your IPs into RRAS or whatever your VPN tool my be. Being able
to edit existing VNets, specifically adding additional site-to-site VPNs after they are in use would really be helpful. Perhaps this is possible and I'm missing something.

Firstly, you need to delete the gateway and all resources in the virtual network before you delete it.
In addition, based on my experience, you just need to add the local network sites parts into the network configuration file for a multi-site VPN connection. If you are afraid that the virtual
network configuration would be wrong after importing, I recommend you to keep the previous network configuration file as a backup. In addition, I am glad to help you with the network configuration file, you can also share me the whole network configuration
file and tell me some more detailed information about your requirement. (Please hide the Public IP addresses for your VPN gateways and VPN device.)

Using SPSiteDataQuery for multiple Site Collections

Hi All,
I would like to query five contact lists on multiple site collections. I can query the lists using SPSiteDataQuery if they are within the same site collection, but I can not query the lists over multiple site collections.
Is there a method like SPSiteDataQuery that I can use to query lists over multiple Site Collections?

Hi,
As you have mentioned that: SPSiteDataQuery which can query multiple webs within the same site collection, but not across multiple site collections. You can't accomplish that easily.
The solution evolves from first using the SPSiteDataQuery class to run a query upon each site collection and then aggregating the results.

As I understand, the site web analytics reports cannot work in SharePoint 2010.
1. You could check the details about the error in the ULS log.
2. Install the hotfix that is dated June 29, 2010 to check if it can work.

Creating Master page for publishing site

Hi,
I am trying to create a master page for publishing site. I have downloaded the "StarterBranding - V1.3" from codeplex, and used the "Starter Publishing". Currently it is not showing logo, search box, top navigation, breadcrumbs.
I have an existing master page which has lot of tags, and I am not sure what they represent. The below code is after the script manager tag in the body section:

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know about the each tags useful in master page.
In SharePoint 2013 master page, there are some common tags like body tag, head tag and meta tag and some style CSS div tags. For the useful of these tags, I suggest you can refer the articles below:
Understanding HTML master pages in SharePoint 2013
In your custom master page, it will have some custom css tags depend on the display style but it is no required for master pages, if you want to know about what tags is required in master page, you can compare the custom master page with the OOTB master
page.
