Fetch Blob image from database and save in file

Hi,
I am using the following code to fetch a picture stored in database (blob type)
$sql = "SELECT PICTURE FROM NEW_PICT WHERE SR_NO = 1";
$stid = oci_parse($conn, $sql);
oci_execute($stid);
if(OCIFetch($stid)) //if file exists
$a=OCIResult($stid,"PICTURE");
file_put_contents('pics/test.jpg', $a->load());
The code works fine with no errors and it generate the picture "test.jpg". The image also opens in windows image viewer.
But when I try to open this image with Photoshop or any other image editing tool, the error occur "Invalid JPEG Marker" or "Invalid File Type"
Also the image dose not display in browser.
Please help.

In each row of your table, you need to construct a HREF that submits to a servlet (or JSP) with a GET parameter that references the primary key for that row, e.g.

I have some data from the database around 8 to 10 records .
These records are interrelated and I need to show cascade drop down.
I want to get the records from the database using c#.
And then based on certain events on the page want to use linq over the same data without having to get the data from the data base again.

Now on page load I want product name in drop down.
Based on the productName selected i want to show Product Plan in another drop down and based on prduct plan want to show prduct type in drop down and then the annual and monthly in drop down.
I want to get all the records of prod A and then using linq to object load the drop downs instead of running query to database.
How can I keep the records available across the function calls.

This is my answer:
Session is not a suitable choice, since each user will have a duplicate of the data. Cache is a better option.
You can put something in Cache option and retrieve it from Cache similar to using Session. This is the manual method of caching and management of the cache content is on yourself.

I need to send the attachment file into the mail. I have a header form in which I have implemented Download/Upload functionality using Apex user guide. When ever a user fill all the entries and submit the form then some field information along with attachment I need to send to the user.
I mean when ever user hit the submit button it should take blob data from my custom table tmp_downlod_files and send to the user as an attachment.
I have searched the post and got lot information but not able to get succeed.
I have implemented java stored procedure for sending automatic mail when user is submitting the form but what I need is to take blob content from database and send as an attachment.
1: So I need to write blob content from custom table to unix server in some location and from there I need to attach that file.
2: the java store which I have implemented for sending automatic mail is working and one argument is attachment which I am passing null for now. So mail is working how to write the file from database to unix server and send as an attachment.
What I did for writing file from database to unix server:

Taking images from Photoshop and taking them to Dreamweaver

Why is it that when i take my images from photoshop and save them for the web, that when i open them in my dreamweaver html file they have lost quality and saturation in the image?

There are 2 ways to do it correctly one is better then the other. The best way to bring an image into
DW is to first create a layer based sliced and the copy & paste it direc
tly into DW. When you do that you will get a Image optimize window, this is a built-in Firework image
optimizer it does a much better job a maintaing quality will compressing image size. The second optioin is to use the save to web feature. Tehy work the same DW/FW does it better. If your image quality still is not what you want play around with your optimization settings without seeein the image I can't recommend the best setting but play around in your 2up/4up window.

How to retrieve am image from database

hi ,
i hav a requirement that, i hav to store and retrive an image from database(postgresql)and palce it on JLabel.i successfully stored an image into database .while retrieving an image from database im not getting the image .please any one can help me how to retrieve an image and place it in JLabel.

You basically save a File to the database, so you can just re-write the data from the file back temporarily and load it into the application using the ImageIO class

Display Images from Database

Hi all,
I require to display images stored in database along with textual description of it on a JSP.
The image file should not be stored intermediately on file system (i.e w/o using img HTML tag)
It is a typical shopping cart appln. where images are fetched from database and the associated description is displayed along side.
Please note that it is the case of Mixed content types(text and binary data).

Like "Breakfast" said, you can do this with a servlet that retrieves your images from a database....
if you create a servlet to do this, you would have a generic servlet which retrieves a picture from a database based upon a key which could be a picture name or number.
Lets say the file is out there in the database as a BLOB or Binary Image... you could have this kind of code in the doPost(HttpRequest req, HttpResponse res) or doService(HttpRequest req, HttpResponse res) method.
The table holding the image has at least two columns one called IMAGE which holds the binary image and the other called FILENAME. If the connection to the DB is already open, you do something like this.

This should write your image to the response output of the servlet.
Now, where you want your image, you put.
<img src="/servlet/ImageServlet?FILENAME="thefileIwant">
This should do what you want... Use your favorite pipe copy method to get the input stream to the output stream. If you are worried about overhead and scaling like "breakfast" said (it CAN be a problem in high access sites), then you can add an image caching scheme and get really complex.... But this is a rough idea on what to do.

hello all
i'm working on form 6i...
i have uploded images into the database of customers in my application using READ_IMAGE_FILE.. IT IS FINE...
But when i am trying retrieves records into the form.... i'm getting all the data except image... Image field is showing empty..
How can i get image from database to form
can u plz help me.....

What data type you used for storing image in database. If it is long raw, then you can place an image item within your data block on form and associate it with the column name. This should populate the image by itself.
Below para is from Forms Help.
Image items can be populated in the following ways:
+1. a fetch from a LONG RAW database column+
An image item in a data block is populated automatically when the end user or the application executes a query in the block. When a fetched image is modified or replaced, Form Builder marks that record as Changed, and the next commit operation saves the new image to the corresponding LONG RAW column in the database.
Note: You cannot write a SELECT statement to select a LONG RAW value INTO an image item.
+2. executing the READ_IMAGE_FILE built-in to read an image from the file system+
+(To dynamically write an image from an image item out to a file, use the built-in procedure WRITE_IMAGE_FILE.)+
