Fetching data in R/3 via portal application(JSPDYNPage)

Hello Everyone,
I want to fetch data in R/3 server via portal application(JSPDYNPAGE) & display that data as an output of the portal application in TABLEVIEW format. Can anyone guide me on this (I:e-How to connect to R/3 server via portal component & fetch data & display the same). any similar application developed for a reference will be of great help.
Thanks,
Chetan

Hi Chetan,
I hope you know how to create a JSP Dyn Page, anyway I will explain it briefly.
Open NWDS->File->New->Create a portal application project->Specify the project name
right click on the project->New->Create a new portal application object->Portal component->Select JSP dyn page-(By default it creates class and all)->this is available under description on the right column-
Now goto the Java page->see the functions->attach zip and jar files(HTMLB plugin)
->Right click on the project->goto properties->Java build path->Add external jars->Select com.sap.portal.htmlbbridge.zip and htmlb.jar
This is how JSP page is created.
Now we want to do establish connection with R/3. That I will discuss in the next session.
Award points if this was helpful......
All the best for you
Regards,
Arun Jacob.

  • Howto deploy content via portal application

    Hi all,
currently i'm integrating some external web apps into my EP6.0 SP2. Therefore I use the application integrator plus some iview und system templates.
I've developed the templates as components in a portal application in the portalapp.xml.
But now I'm searching for a way to deploy not only the templates but also real content, e.g. instances of my templates with a portalapp.xml.
At this time I must make the concrete iviews based on my templates by hand.
Is there any doc outside the targets this approach? What I've found is the Portal Runtime Guide, whith an overview of portalapp.xml structure, but nothing concrete.

        Steffen...

Thanks for the reply ... here is the answer to your questions along with an update to some more information after trying something different
Did you deploy the WebCenter Managed server from Jdeveloper
I am deploying the application to the WebCenter Managed server from JDeveloper.
What managed server did you deploy it to - a custom server that you created?
Yes this is a custom Managed Server (called MindFlow). At the time of your response the only two servers up and running on WebCenter was the AdminServer and MindFlow.
    Did the deployment go through?
    Yes
Are there any errors in the managed server log when you access the page?
Yes these where the errors showing that it could not connect with the metadata via the repositories.
    Now for the update:
I went ahead and started up the WLS_Portlet managed server that comes with WebCenter. When I did this I got the following error:
WSM-04509: cannot initialize the connection to the data store
I then deployed the Portlet Producer Application to the WLS_Portlet from JDeveloper. I then grabbed the url for the newly created portlet producer and updated the connection on the Portal application. After doing this and updating the portal.jspx file, I then deployed the Portal application to the MindFlow managed web server. I then brought up the portal.jspx page via a browser and was able to bring back results. The only issue now is that while doing this I got multiple MDS errors (including the initialize error above) and not sure if I can ignore these or not. One of the errors received was as follows:
oracle.mds.exception.MDSException: MDS-01258: The value @MDS_CLASS for property class-name is invalid.

  • Fetching Data from Multiple Services or End Applications in BPEL

    Hi,
We do have a requirement of fetching the data from multiple services exposed by the end applications. And there are no inter dependencies among these.
Mostly 6 to 10 partner links have to be used to fetch this data. So planning to use the flow N activity to achieve this.
But i did come across a best practice to avoid the use o Flow N activity with number of lines. So i wanted to know pros and cons of this approach and i there is any better way of doing the same in BPEL.
We are using SOA Suite 11.1.1.4.0.
    Thanks

  • How to fetch data from a SAP BW Cube via Perl/PHP on a Linux machine?

    Hi all,
    here's the scenario:
I need to fetch data from a cube of a remote SAP NetWeaver 7.  The data will later be used in a web application based on  Linux and  Perl/PHP. (I'd prefer using perl for the backend and doing the business logic of the web application.)
    I have:
A Linux system with all its on-board tools and scripting languages.
A user for the SAP BW which allows me to logon (very, very limited user rights, no se37,no se80,no rsaX and so on)
Access to http://<SAP BW Server>:<Port>/sap/bw/xml/soap/xmla with the above mentioned user.
    My questions:
    - Could you please push me into the right direction how I can realize this? E.g. by pointing to tutorials / HowTos / sample code / CPAN modules etc..  (Most information I found so far referred to software based on a different operating system and on remote function calls using custom functions.)
    - I'm aware of the  SAPNW::RFC CPAN module, but do I necessarily have to perform a remote function call? ( If so, is there a "standard" function I could call for accessing a cube?)
    Thanks a lot in advance!

You can take through the RFCS .check for some system function modules...but why do you need to route it through XI?How huge z the files?

    Hi Mahesh,
You need to setup a Single Sign On between SAP Portal and ECC system where yoy are doing the development.
Ask basis team to setup the single sign on and usually this is the job done by Basis teams. Refer the below link to get some idea on SSO setup:
    http://scn.sap.com/community/enterprise-portal/blog/2013/12/15/sso-configuration-between-sap-portal-73-and-ecc-60-ehp-6

  • Sharepoint 2013 Reporting services not fetching data via linked server

We have a functional SharePoint 2013 farm in production with WFE (Server 1 , windows server 2012) and WFE ( Server 2 , windows server 2012) and SharePoint databases including report server databases on  (Server 3, which SQL Server 2012 on windows
    server 2012)
Kerberos Authentication is enabled and Windows Authentication happens. Claims to Windows Service seems to work correctly too. No double hop issue. The SharePoint Reporting Services seem to be configured correctly and Reports get generated as expected
    in the following cases.
     1. If data is being pulled from Server A (SQL Server 2008 R2 Server on Windows Server 2008), Report gets generated no issues.
     2. If data is being pulled from Server B (SQL Server 2008 R2 Server on Windows Server 2008), Report gets generated no issues.
    The problem:-
We have a view on Server A, which is fetching data from Server B. This report does not get generated. Gives an NT/Authority logon failure. Server B is created as a linked Server on Server A. The setting to run under users security context is checked.
If I execute Query Builder from Report Builder 3.0, the query on the view gets the data and data is displayed in the report for next 10-15 min but after that the connections gets lost or if the user logs out and logs back in, the connection is lost
    again.
Has some one experienced a issue like this? Can a report not work on a view getting data from linked server? Or I have missed  some thing really important.
    Any help is highly appreciated?
    cheers!

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you clicked System settings after configuring Reporting Services service application.
What size did you use for the memory? Please make sure the server has enough memory to run SharePoint and all services.
    In addition, please open
http://localhost:xxxxx/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc to check if there is something about this issue.
Here is a similar post about this issue, please take a look at:
    http://whitepages.unlimitedviz.com/2012/07/setting-up-reporting-services-2012-with-sharepoint-2013/
As this issue is about Reporting Services, I suggest you create a new thread on SSRS forum, more experts will assist you with SSRS.

  • Fetching data is very slow in workspace for planning application

    Hello Everyone,
I am working in the web environment of a planning application and recently I have seen some issue's like Fetching data is very slow through webform's and the system will locking automatically and which kick me off from workspace when I refresh. So could you suggest me like what would be the reason's for this issue's.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Sounds like your form is very large or there are maybe a lot of dynamic calcs on the retrieval. How many rows and columns have you on the form ? Have you dense or sparse dimensions as rows or columns?

  • SmartSync Application:Passing Input Field parameters& Fetching Data.

    Hello SDNers
I have created a sample Smart Sync Application from Custom Syncbo (Search Functionality).
Also Created a Custom Jsp with One button for "GetList" and 3 Input Fields namely Name(mandatory), Email, Address and 1 Table.
Overall fuctionality (also of sysncbo ) such that after filling the fields, wenever person will press Getlist, these three parameters shud get passed to backend and then fetch data to fill the table..
" I dont have ne clue regarding how to pass parameters and fetch details.."
Can anyone give me a code for the same or tell me how to access DB parameters mentioned in Bapiwrapper/syncbo.
    Kindly Help..
    Thanks n Regards....

    Hi Chetan,
First I have some queries on your post.
When you say Smart Sync Application, you created it from NWDS using MDK plugin right..?
when you say access table etc u mean tables related to Sync BOs in Mobile deivice database Db2e right.?
When you say on click of getlist button it should pass parameters to backend in the sense MO bile device backend i.e., db2e not MI or R/3.
but any how, when you create a Smart Sync Application in NWDS using MDK plugin for meRepMeta.xml MDK plug in will generate all the APIs interfacing to your data on device.
using these APIs you can set,get data from the local database but it all depends on the properties of the fields in SyncBO.
    Regards,
    Sai.

  • Calling portal application via it 's url from R/3 (with authentication)?

    Hello,
how to call portal application by its url from R/3 (using ABAP)? How to avoid authentication screen?
    Best regards,
    Josef Motl

<i>What I want is to call portal application on background (not to call browser).</i>
you can use CL_HTTP_CLIENT class or HTTP_GET or HTTP_POST function modules for the same. (but you need to pass the user id /pwd in the program) (ITS doesnt fit your case)
    check out the demo programs.
    for CL_HTTP_CLIENT
    RSHTTP01
    HTTP_GET/POST
    RSHTTP20
    RSHTTP70

  • HR Renewal 1.0 FP4 navigation fails via Portal

    Hi All,
We have installed HR Renewal 1.0 FP4. We are trying to use the ESS HR Launch Page (UI5) via the SAP Portal 7.3.1 SP9. The Launch page appears correctly but when
clicking the on Leave Request the Web Gui opens and the SAP Easy Access Menu
appears instead of the relevant UI5 Screen.
We have implemented the following notes:
1864001 - Resolving of system alias for launchpad service
1956146 - Shell API support for navigation with system alias in Enterprise Portal
Using HTTP Watch we have noticed that the link is resolved to the following:
    http://<host_name>:<host_port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/HRESS_LEAVREQ_G/index.html
    instead of
    http://<host_name>:<host_port>/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/HRESS_LEAVREQ_G/index.html
It seems that this is related to the Web AS Setup for the
relevant System Connector in the Portal, which is maintained as follows:
    ICM Host Name: <host_name>:<host_port>
    ICM Protocol: http
    ICM URL Prefix: /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
Is there any recommendation on how to set up the Web AS or any idea of how to overcome this issue?
    Thank
    you in advance,
    Michael

Let me explain the usage of reverse proxy, web dispatcher needs to be setup as reverse proxy if you choose gateway to be setup in different system. With HCM Renewal 1.0, we introduced HTML5 landing pages. We call it the lanes landing pages. The lanes landing pages has two facets two it - the User Interface (UI) - the Data The UI requires the UI5 add-on. This is something which you have already installed. The data for the UI is served up from the Backend system as a OData service via the Gateway system. The landing page needs a reverse proxy to direct the browser requests to either the back-end system where the JavaScript sources are stored, o or to the SAP Gateway system where the OData services are located " Like any Web Application, the HTML5 artifacts (html, js, css) are loaded on to your browser the very first time the landing page application is launched. For this, the browser makes a http requests to the backend system where the artifacts are stored. Once the artifacts are loaded, subsequent calls will be to fetch data from the HCM backend. HCM backend data is exposed as OData services via the Gateway. NW Gateway provides the infrastructure required to convert HCM (ERP in general) data to application/device friendly OData services.Hence Gateway is an intergral part of the whole product. In short: The Reverse proxy talks to the backend HCM system once in a session to load the html5 artifacts. But it communicates with the gateway system whenever data is requested.

  • Portal application connecting backend SAP R/3 system

    Hi All,
I am developing one portal application through NWDS. It's JSPDYNPage component. The applications functionality is basicaly is to connect it to backend SAP R/3 system & fetch some data in aparticular table & display that data in a tableview format on one JSP& also when i click any row of the tableview then details of that row should get displayed on the next JSP. So i reached till develpoing a code that connnects to Backend SAP R/3.(Basicaly coding of connection part is done). Now i need to test this code, to check whether it is fine or not? NWDS doesnt give nay error, not compile also or not runtime error also. It simply shows the output as a blank page, where it is supposed to display one line of text in textview(i coded this in my JSP).But as i said it displays a blank page. i tried to debug the application , but debugging also not worked.I performed the debugging twice in right way. The code was not debugged, it run the same way as it normally runs when debugging is off & shown the blank page. I also have done all the the settings or prerequisites for debugging properly. I am stuck at this point now.search many documents , but no relevant help has been received. • ORA-01403 NO DATA FOUND ERROR AFTER SELECTING PORTAL LINK TO CALL FORM

I have a portal application link that I use to call a form. The field on this
form gets populated based on a bind variable that is passed in by the link.
This was working 2 weeks ago but now when I click on the link to call the form
I am receiving the following error "AN UNEXPECTED ERROR OCCURRED ORA-01403 - NO
DATA FOUND". This happens in more than one application where I set this type
of link to call a form. Anyone have any ideas?!!

    Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for your time!
The fields in the form are all right. The fields get filled in perfectly in most of the cases, only those few rows don't :(
However, now that you wrote of the process of row fetching, I think that maybe I have an idea of what is happening. My table has two primary keys (two fields together make the primary key, I don't know how it's called in English), one of them is a date. (I know that this is quite a bad practice, but, much to my regret, I cannot change it.) Now, this date is in YY-MON-DD format, which is used by my language.
One of this dates is from 1800's. As my report shows it, the year gets truncated to the last two character. APEX passes this value into the field of the form using varchar2, and when it tries to cast it back to YY-MON-DD format, then it supposes it's from 1900's instead of 1800's. With 19xx however it doesn't find my field.
Does this sound logical? It seems logical to me, but I am a beginner... :(
Still, if this is the core of the problem, it's most possibly not the only problem, because I have dates from 19xx which can't identify their rows... But I am suspicious because of these date things. If you have any idea then please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Eszter

  • Portal application connecting to backend R/3 system

    Hi All,
i am developing one portal application through NDS(Netweaver Developer Studio) that connects to backend SAP R/3 system & fetches some data in R/3 system. I started working on it & developed some code, which i want to test whether it is working fine or not.I:e- code to connect to SAP R/3, but when i run the application it doesnt give any error but also it doesnt show any output which it should display(value of output parameter of RFC). Below is the code for component, code for JSP & code for bean. Can any one tell me what is the error in this? or why i am not getting the output i desired. All the connection parameters supplied in the coding are correct. Now below i mentioned these parameters as *, bt in actual i have mentioned them correct. I checked them twice, they are fine.

    Hi Chetan,
Connection to R/3 systems through Portal can be done in many ways. Since you have mentioned that you are using jspdynpage then its better that you use JCo for connecting to R/3 system.
U can write the JCo code using the jspdynpage component. I hope you have pdfs related to JCO. Incase u dont have then give me you mail id. OK
Another approach could be developing a web dynpro java application that access a r/3 table using a BAPI. You can a dynpro model to easily connect to R/3 system.
Just develop an iview based on this web dynpro application. And finally navigate to this iview through your jspdynpage.
I hope this helps you in some way

  • How to make Portal Application for connecting to SAP R/3(backend system)

    Hello  Experts,
I need to create a portal application that should connect to SAP R/3 & fetch some data in some table according to some input parameters provided at runtime & display the data in TABLEVIEW control.
Anyone can guide me on this i:e- how to go about it. What things i should know or should be aware of before creating this application. Any PDF documents , any help material, any guidance about the same will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Chetan

    Chetan,
Webdynpro & Visual Composer ars EP Development Tools.
If you only display BAPI data then go for Visual Composer with requires no coding So I suggest you to go for Visual Composer.
You can also use Webdynpro Java or ABAP to display BAPI data by creating
      Adaptive RFC model.
You will integrate Webdynpro applications into EP by creating SAP Webdynpro iView.
