Fex fields length, align right

In file receiver with content conversion and fixed field length is there a way to align the data to he right of the fields?
Default the values are being aligned left so that if a field has length 10 and input is "1234" it becomes "1234______", i want to align left so it becomes" ______1234"

You need to handle this in the mapping itself, if the length is less than required length then append space in the beginning

Need Number fields to be right aligned in ADF table.

Hi All,
I have af:outputtext in the column of ADF read only table and view attribute which is associated to this field is fetching numbers (type is Number). But by default in my page data (numbers) is displaying with left aligned.
But my requirement is to display numbers to be right aligned. I tried by setting Horizontal property to 'right' (text-align = right), also tried by seeting Styledclass property to AFFieldNumberMarker / AFFieldNumber css properties. But still numbers are displaying with left aligned.
Please tell me how to fix this issue?

Use desformat=spreadsheet output excel,number fields can not right align

overview and PDF right align,it's ok.but excel all field left align.

Be sure you put the heading the same size as your column because otherwise it will not insert the diffent columns in seperate columns in excell

and one more that kff field working is fine for ex display any text pled displayed properly and only problem is not set the value and HrSitKeyFlex6 and HrSitKeyFlex7 fields are perfectly get the values but not pront HrSitKeyFlex8 that only my issue....

Table field length problem

We r tring to create table with field length 250 and 'CHAR' type and one more field 'STRING 'for unlimited length.While creating table entries ,it is tsking only 130 length for all fields.it is not taking 250 characters for 250 length field.and it is not taking unlimited length for String field.Plz let me know.

Idoc segment field length changes

Hi friends,,
I am new to idoc.
My requirement is in my segment
i am having 5 fields and also this segment is already realeased one.
i wnat to change the field length from 10 to 20 . how to do this ?
actually what i did is
1. i cancel the release for that segment.
2. in that field inside the dataelement i changed the field length from 10 to 20.
3. data elemnt get chaged from 10 to 20 but Export length for that field in Idoc segment still retain the 10 only

Hi,
The way you used is right. ( cancel release or create a new segment )
After you cancel release, try delete that field, and insert a new one.
If it isn't valid still, create a new segment instead.

Numeric fields not aligned correctly in report preview

Hi
I have the next problem:
On my report, I aligned the numeric fields to the right of a column, but when i run the preview on ASP, the numeric fields are aligned to the left.
But when I export the report to PDF, the numbers align correctly.
I figured out a workaround to this, introducing the numeric fields into text fields, since they do align correctly. The problem is that I have too many reports to apply this workaround to all of them.
Could it be a known issue of Crystal Reports XI?
Is there any other workaround?

Maybe I wasn't quite explicit before,
In preview mode my report displays correctly as well. The problem comes when I run it through an ASP, which is needed for my application.
I'm running the CR version 11.5.0.313. I was asking if it could be a known issue of XI version because when I had version 9 I didn't have this problem.
It could also be that through the time, I changed something in the way the report is displayed, and didn't realize about that before, but I haven't been lucky to notice any change related.

TCURR field TCURR_UKURS - field length is too short

Has ECC6 addressed the field length issue of 9 characters (5 decimals) in table TCURR field UKURS to cater for weak currencies, to avoid using ratios of 1000:1

I don't see any issue. UKURS field has 9 characters, that's right; but, as you rightly mentioned, it should not pose any problem considering the ratio. Why ratio of 1000:1 is posing a problem for you?

Field Lengths in Smartforms

Hi All,
How can we make the field lengths of all the fields to be displayed in smartforms of the same length so that they are aligned properly.
Eg: V_field1 is of length 8,
V_field2 is of length 2.
Both are of the type Z table.
How can this be done in smartforms to display both of same length.

String Fields Length

Length of string fields in my crystal report are locked to 20 by default, but my data source's query's field length is 50. How can I fix the crystal report to show all 50 characters in the report?

I check marked "Can Grow" option and it didn't work.
Database is SQL Server 2005 and my connection is OLE DB (ADO). The database field is VARCHAR(50).
I noticed, under the Field Explorer --> Database Fields, the type of the field is showing as "String [20]". But the field in the datasource (SQL Server 2005) is Varchar(50). Also, when I right-clicked Browse Data on the field on Field Explorer, the data that was returned are all trimmed to 20 characters.

Risks of changing the field length of data structure of a Cluster Table

We are on ECC 604 and had implemented HR & Travel Management. Reporting on these applications is done in BI. We use ESS and & Mobile Travel for time, travel expenses, etc and use PCLn clusters.
There is business need to change the length of a field from 20 to 40 for the data structure PTK** of cluster table PCL1.
We are exploring various options to avoid core modifications.
We are also assessing the risks associated with changing the field length.
I am asking you for your opinion about the risks associated with changing the field length of a data structure of cluster table.

Recently, we came across the same situation where we had to change the length of a field. Let me explain you what precautions we had taken during that time.
1. Apply the where use list of that table/ Field and check whether it has been used in some program and FM or not. If yes then check one more thing that check the TYPE of another variables on which system has populating data (move, write or in FM parameters). if you will not consider this then you can land you in big trouble. (Conversion dump)
2. Ask the basis to take a dump of the production, quality and data for the safer side if something does not go right.
Now, you can do the changes in your development system and then adjust the database and see the impact of it.
Hopefully, you will not come across any difficult situation in this changes.

Htmleditformat & Database Field Lengths

I happened across an article about SQL injection, a topic I frequently look back into to see what new threats have been discovered, and this particular author was pushing for the use of htmleditformat on all form data being inserted into a database. Now I have coded and secured several different websites against SQL injection, each using simlar to slightly-varied techniques at blocking those pesky hackers, so my question is not how to prevent SQL injections, but instead my question is more about htmleditformat and database field lengths.
htmleditformat on user-inserted data is part of my SQL injection prevention scheme, but on rare occasion I have this problem:
Let's say I have a field in my database for the user's first name, with a generous length of 20 characters.
The user's name, just as an example, is 18 characters long. No problem, right?
But let's say that user's name has a symbol, or foreign language character, that then gets converted by htmleditformat behind the scenes? Suddenly that 18 characters balloons up to 23 characters, generating an error because my CFQUERYPARAM maxlength is 20, not to mention the field in the database.
So, for those who do scrub user data with htmleditformat, how do you handle this, if at all?

I agree with mack. HtmlEditFormat is intended for displaying strings, not making them safe. You might try using the StripHtml or SafeText user defined functions from cflib.org to remove undesired HTML from your input.

How do I use align="right" for text in a dl environment?

I use a <dl> environment to control vertical line spacing extensively (thousands of pages). Here is the objective:

How can I right-align the numbers in a <dl> environment? It has to be in the <dt> line, not the <dd>. Using the <dd> line indents the left margin, which is not acceptable.

Field length change in Web Dynpro Components iView

We are using SAP MDM Web Dynpro Components - Configuration Manager (NW7.3) to develop the UI. One of the issue while disply field is, Though field maintained in MDM has only 2 charaters UI that displays a full-screen-width field.
I would like to display actual field length maintained in reposiroy for each field. Is it possible??

How can I have multiple fields on the left and one large field on the right?

I'm trying to conserve space on a form. I have five "pass/fail" fields on the left and would like a large free text field to the right. This will be an area to comment on the "pass/fail" section. When I add the multi-line text box, it moves all my "pass/fail" mulitple selection boxes.
Any advice?
