FI- AP Open Items - historic postings.
Hi ,
I need a Bex report which can be reconcilled with FBL1N (Open items) for any 'Key date".
The report has to calculate open items for any past historic key date. (eg: 31.12.2009).
I am currently calculating FI - AP , open items as part of aging report.
The below calculation (RKF) was tested for any date this year and it worked.
but when checked across any historic date it doesnt give
Open Items - Amount,
Posting Date < Date Entered by user,
Clearing Date = #,
Key due date > Date Entered
Can I achieve it with requires adjustment in the above RKF.?
Regards
vasanth.R
HI Vasanth.
Since you want open items till the key date:-
We can use only these conditions, I guess:-
Posting Date <= Date Entered by user,
Clearing Date = #.
that should work for all data..

Sakthi.

Difference between cleared items, open items and all postings (FI).
Hi experts,
Can anybody tell me the difference between cleared items, open items and all postings for an account.
While running corresponding bapis and transaction FAGLL03 (for GL) or FBL1N (for accounts payable) i found that in some cases all postings is less than cleared items or open items for a time period. How could it happen.According to my knowledge all postings should contain cleared items and open items.
Please correct me..
Thanks and Regards
ArjunHi Arjun,
For every Billing Documnet created(VBRK/VBRP-VBELN) there will be an accounting document created in BSID/BSAD tables.
OPEN ITEMS means the Billed/Invoice Amounts that are pending from Customers, i.e which we have to receive from Customers.
CLOSED ITEMS means the AMOUNTS received from that customer.
OPEN ITEMS : fetch data from BSID table Only
CLOSED ITEMS : fetch data from BSAD only.
ALL POSTINGS : fetch data from both BSID and BSAD.
Hope this will help.

Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
Diagnosis
You use G/L account 200100 in company code RLIF with open item
management. However, postings are not permitted to G/L accounts in
individual ledgers with open item management.
Procedure
If you have not yet made any postings to this account and if the
account is to be used for closing processes in non-leading ledgers,
deactivate the Open Item Management indicator in the company code data
for the G/L account.
Thanks,

FB50L error: Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
Dear All
I need your help.
I am trying to do some adjustment to GR/IR clearing account in Non-leading ledger. Since for this account open item management is ticked, I am getting an error message 'Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted'.
Now I have checked the forum to find some solution...but does not fit my requirement.
I cannot create a new account. I cannot change the existing account. I tried OBA5, but the message persists.
I also checked the notes.
Appreciate a response on how the post to open item managed accounts in non-leading ledger.
Regards
KunaalHi Kunaal
Usually, OIM accounts are not allowed for Non Leading Ledger postings... With EhP4 or 5, i guess, a new feature is added in GL Master whereby you can specify that a GL will be OIM for Leading Ledger and Not OIM for a Non Leading Ledger

Error- Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
Hi,
Can't we post to a GL, which is open item managed, in a non-leading ledger (statutory ledger)? We get this error when we try to post an entry, in the statutory ledger, to a GL that is open item managed.
Can anybody explain this, please?
Regards,
MikeThis is due to a design with the new GL.
In the new G/L accounting, when you use a particular ledger or ledger group, you can no longer make a direct ledger specific posting to accounts managed on an open item basis or to accounts with an account type not equal to 'S'.
You need to do posting with ledger group blank, which updates all the ledgers. The idea is, for open item accounts, all the ledgers should be in sync. for open item accounts IFRS and Local GAAP values are never different.
If you are doing this to do some correction posting while doing year end posting or migration for example. (A typical example is when an account is made open item managed at a later date). You need to change temporarily message control using transaction SE91 to force ledger specific postings to OI accounts -

Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted in ASKB
Hi Gurus,
I have the error FAGL_POST_SERVICE012 'Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted' when i run the transaction ASKB. The very strange thing is that in table APERB_ITEMS for this company code there isn't any record. My questions are:
1. The ASKB posts only if the APERB_ITEMS is populated?
2. If yes, Why the ASKB wants to create postings on this company code?
3. If no, which are the logic conditions that include a asset in the ASKB execution?
4. If the logic is correct, how i can to run the ASKB on OI accounts?
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
EmanueleHi ,
I believe you know why do you run transaction code ASKB if not please see below
The report evaluates all asset transactions since the last run. Unlike the periodic depreciation posting program, the APC posting run is not tied to a certain accounting period. It generates one document per posting period and depreciation area. That means that asset values are summarized for various account groups in one document. Document number assignment is external. You have to enter the document type in Customizing for Asset Accounting.
There are various possible ways of posting APC values:
To an account set within the original company code
To an account set of an alternative company code
To an account set directly in a special ledger
The account set can be determined from a different depreciation area.
Derived depreciation areas can be treated as real depreciation areas. This means that the system posts APC differences rather than special reserves, as was the case up to now.
During a test run, the system completes all accounting checks (for example, budgetary control of objects belonging to Funds Management).
While doing above system reads and update table APERB_ITEMS . If you look to Program for ASKB is RAPERB2000 and if you take your ABAper help to under the coding he will tell you that is program use APERB_ITEMS to update and read.
MANY THANKS

MM/FI - Inventory postings (BSX) Open Item management
Hello - The accounts used for inventory postings (BSX); should they be marked for open item management
or not? Is there an adverse effect if the postings on this accounts are cleared?jaym wrote:
> You need two entries to be able to clear the account, how do you plan to pass the second entry? I would not recommend you to have open item management for BSX accounts.
I don't need an offset account since there are postings on this BSX accounts where it is in balance. But can you please explain why I shouldn't clear these accounts? What is the reason? -

GL Open Item Managed Flag Changed Historically - Orphan items left on acct
Back in 2000 for some of our GLs the Open Item Managed flag was changed. Initially it was not checked but now it is. We know that SAP doesn't really let you do it anymore but apparently back then whoever did it didn't follow what was then the suggested procedure. As a result we have an account balance of say 500,000 which I can see in FS10N however if I run it for all open items in FBL3N I get 450,000 because 50,000 are not open or cleared. I can't go in and clear these off against anything because they are not open item managed. Is there a program that can be ran to make them open?
I thought RFSEPA01 would do the trick and after running it in our QA environment the log states:
Line Items Year Remark
1 2000 Document selected
1 2000 Document changed
However when I go to F-03 it still won't bring the documents in as it says they are not open item managed.
Sure enough if I go look in table BSIS at the document the Open Item Managed flag is not set.
What's the best procedure to resolve these? Do I have to create a Z program that will flag the Open Item Managed field (XOPVW) and then clear these documents off against something?
TIAHello,
Please check the SAP note 175960.
As explained in the note 175960, is not possible to subsequently
activate the open item management under some conditions.
With NewGL, the split information on open items is stored in
FAGL_SPLINFO and FAGL_SPLINFO_VAL which are only updated when the
document is being posted through active document split. Also RFSEPA02
does not update these tables.
If you are NOT using NEW/GL with doc split (inactive), you may create
add-on report by copying RFSEPA02 and adding modification on the report
per note 175960.
As the note states, if you decide to take RFSEPA02 approach,
please do so at your own risk. Possible problems (such as data
inconsistency) can only be handled by SAP within chargeable remote
consulting.
All important information is written on note 175960.

How to clear vendor open items if vendor invoice currency and payment currency different
Hi All.
How to clear vendor open items through f-44 if vendor invoice currency is EUR , payment currency is USD but local currency is INR
while clearing through f-44 system showing error as "to large for clearing clearing is not possible"
I checked all configuration, configuration wise no problem
BR.
ChandraHi Chandra,
You chose any one of the currency i.e. EUR/INR/USD for clearing in F-44. After selecting line items for clearing, system will show a difference. Click on over view button and manually write off the difference by selecting any one account i.e. dummy or small diff.account, after that click on process open items then system will show the difference 0 and simulate the document, here system will post gain/loss exchange GL postings along with other line items. After save the document, manually pass journal entry to dummy account and gain/loss account. I have explained clearly in the below example.
Invoice is in USD - 1000 & INR - 60000
Payment is in INR - 60000
Now I am going to clear these in INR currency in F-44 on 31.03.2015. On this date the exchange rate for USD is 60.10. At the time of clearing system will post the below entry
Vendor A/c Dr 60000 (invoice)
Vendor A/c Cr 60000 (Payment)
Gain from exchange rate A/c Cr 100 (60000 - 60100)
Small diff.write off A/c (or) Dummy A/c Dr 100
After done the above posting, we have to pass below manual JV in FB01
Gain from exchange rate A/c Dr 100
Small diff.write off A/c (or) Dummy A/c Cr 100

Open items are not displaying in FBL3N
This is with regard to "FBL3N" report. When we have executed this the result is as mentioned below by item wise:-
1) Open Items :- Report is showing all items (including open & closed)
2) Closed Items :- Showing no items
3) All Items :- Showing all items (including open & closed)
I am attaching the screen shots for your reference.
It is working fine for "FBL1N" & "FBL5N".
Hence request you to provide a solution in such a way that if we execute open items in FBL3N, report should show open items alone and similarly for closed & all items.

Diagnosis
This account does not have a balance of zero.
System Response
You cannot switch the open item management specification on or off with
this transaction.
Procedure
If you want to switch this function on retroactively for a certain
account, you should create a new account with the correct setting and
use this to make a transfer posting of existing items.
If you want to switch off the open item management function
retroactively for an account, you must first clear all the postings
currently on this account. You cannot make any changes to the account
management method until this is done.

Hi Gurus,
Can anyone explain me regarding what is opening item management and what is use and to which type of accounts we will give opening item management check box. Please give me an example.
Thanks and Regards
BaluHere is the SAP help text on the field 'Open Item Management'. Should answer your query!
Indicator: Open item management?
Determines that open items are managed for this account.
Use
Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
Procedure
Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
Example:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
Examples
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
Clearing accounts:
Bank clearing account
Payroll clearing account
Cash discount clearing account
GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:
Bank accounts
Tax accounts
Raw material accounts
Reconciliation accounts
These are managed implicitly using the subledger open item function.
Profit and loss accounts
Materials Management (MM) accounts posted with a posting key that has account type 'M' -
Double booking when clear open item on G/L account
HI!
I use bank account 193200 as a clearing account to clear open items. I have made two postings on this account in different currencies. Now I wan't t o clear this items in f-03, and the difference of apprix 10 EUR is to be posted on an exchange rate difference account, 796201. I have allocated this account to account 193300 in transaction OBY9 (account for echange rate difference) and I have also allocated this account in transaction OBXZ (create accounts for clearing differences)
When I try to clear my twi items on account 193200 in transaction f-03 I get a posting looking like this:
796201 Credit 10 EUR
193200 Debet 10 EUR
796201 Credit 10 EUR
796201 Debet 10 EUR
Why do I get this double posting on account 796201? It would be enough with a posting of the first two lines.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks in advance!Hi!
Thanks for ypur reply! I checked the postings on profit centers now as you asked about it. All of the three P/L bookings (all the postings on account 796201) are on the same profit center and no bookings on profit center on account 193300.
How can I go on? What did you mean by profit center posting in balance?
