FI Document created during WBS settlement

Hi Everyone,
I have an issue regarding the FI document generated while running CJ88 for WBS settlement. We settle a WBS to a Cost Center, after it, three documents are created, an FI document, a CO document and a Profit center Document.
Logic tells me there shouldnt be an FI document  in this situation since im settleing between two cost objects. For example when we settle internal orders no FI document is generated.
I've checked many threads in SCN about said FI document and i cant find a definitive reason as for why is this document is generated during the settlemet, many threads about it are not answered and some others are not very conclusive.
Nevertheless! I can live with the FI document but i'd like to change it from the standard "SA" document to "ZA" for analysis purposes. We created de document type and i've changed the settlement profile to use ZA but still after we settle a WBS an SA document is created.
Can anyone shine any light on this issue? either pointing me in the right direction to modify the document type or by explaining why is it generated?
Thank you in advance for your time.
Pelayo.

Hello Chauhan,
My settlement profile is enabeled for Cost Center, Order and Fixed Assets all as optional, however the settlement rule in this specific scenario is from WBS to Ctr. (both elements have a Profit ctr. assigned.
Under Other parameters i've set Document type as "ZL".
The system creates an FI document like this.

  • Want to reduce the number of material documents created during Confirmation

When confirming each phase on the process order, backflush of components happens and a material document is created .So if we have multiple phases, multiple material documents are created. This way we are having large number of material documents created for each process order .
We do not want a material document to created for each phase but rather create one document while confirming the last phase of the process order. How can we achieve this? Is there a configuration or a user exit that can be used?
Our goal is to reduce the number of material documents created.

IF you assigned all the component  to final phase then You can get only one  material document for all the component
    or
Remove  all the backflush setting   and do the Picking in COIK, The system will Post all the  261 movement component in one document

    Hi,
Another way of mapping your requirement.
Create a new payment term as Z900 in t.code:OME2 and keep B (Blocked for payment) in Block key field in Pmnt block/pmnt method default segment and then assign the new payment term  Z900 to vendor master in t.code:XK02 and save.
Create new purchase order for that vendor code and do all ERS process(MIGO,MRRL and MR90) where your all ERS invoices posted with auto-payment block.
Now go for releasing blocked invoice with t.code: MRBR and then pay to your vendor.

  • Error message KD625 during WBS settlement.

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to settle WBS element to AUC with investment measure in the current year, which has a balance from 2006 and getting the Error Message KD625.
    Kindly suggest me the solution.
I found the below OSS notes but not sure how relevant are these for my issue.
    1) 425601
    2) 819197
Could anyone suggest me the solution?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Akash Patil

    Hello Gordon,
    Thanks for your reply.
You have read my requirement correctly. Is every thing fine if I Implement note 819197?
I am not sure what impact will be after implementing it.
since we are settling it to the AuC investment measure.
And I found one more note 425601. Is this note also relevant for us? I am not sure about this note. Whether we need to implement along with the note 819197.
    Please suggest me.

  • Documents created during revaluation

Hi guys: I was wondering how the standard config for revaluation was set up.
In our company, revaluation creates several documents based on whether the account is line item & open item managed. Then we have revaluation post one document post for those accounts that are only line item managed and not open item managed, therefore it revalues based on balance and not on each line item.
My question is, how do I make the system create one document per account for the month i am running revals in regardless of whether its line item or both line & open item managed.
    thanks much
    Brian

Take a look at your valuation methods in tcode OB59. There is a setting that allows for either line item  or summarized postings. If you have no check you get summarized postings.
pls assign points if helpful as a way to say thanks.

  • No accounting document created for distributed cost center and asset

    Hi experts,
Why there is no accounting document created during GR for distibuted cost center and asset?
    Thanks

Sorry guys, there's nothing to do with the config of the account assignment. The postings are ok for single cost center or single asset. SAP system message (info messsage) " Goods receipt for distributed cost center will be non valuated" are given when you are trying to unticked the GR non valuated.
If someone could explain what is the logic behind that behavior.
    Thanks again.

  • Wbs in customer/vendor and gl document lines during initial balance upload

    Hi gurus,
Can we enter wbs in customer/vendor and gl documents lines during upload of opening balance upload?
What is the impact of this?? Do we need to run project settlement on 1st day after go live to get data in cost center from ar, ap and gl????
    Thanks

    Hi Mohit,
Why do you want to udpate WBS element for vendor and customer line items. Basic concept of said cost object (WBS element) is transfer values to Fixed assets or GL accounts or any other cost objects like cost center ,Internal order, sales order like that.
You can update WBS element for all fixed expenses based on settlement rule and allocation types, which you created in customization and assigned cost elements or cost elment group over there. You can update WBS elements for said line items settle after opening balance update.  Please note ,it may not possible to update WBS element for vendor and customer line items.
Basic cocnept of WBS element is cost collector ( You may use to collect revenue also as per nusiness processes) ,collects the cost from various resources and settle to said above objects. Vendor and customer balances are balance sheet accounts, which can settle through payments.

  • Cost Object in FI document with WBS Settlement

    Hi,
I'm testing WBS settlement to G/L account which is cost element. I made some substitution rules because I met an error message saying that "Cost Object is needed"
As a result I can settle WBS to cost elements such as COGS etc. I got a FI document, CO document and PCA document. Everything looked so nice.
Suddenly I noticed, however, that there is no such a thing like cost object on FI document. When I look up the FI document using FB03, I found that the PS-POSID was empty. Of course, CO documents have Cost Object.
What I wonder is as follows
    1. Is this standard? Is it natural that FI document with CO doc has no cost object on it?
    2. If I need to use FI document to determine WBS element, what is the best to way? Is it possible to enter Cost Object such as wbs element in FI document during settlement?
Thank you for your kind advice in advance.

    Kang,
In the message which you got, the word 'Cost Object' refered to a cost center, or order, or any other cost object.
However, there is another account assignment object with the name 'Cost Object', which was not filled in the FI document. That is normal.
Right now I don't have much information in the a/c assignment object 'Cost Object'.

Adobe Acrobate XI and SecCommerce SecSigner have a problem during signing of a document, creating/verification of the signature is not possible - solutions? SecSigner is not responding.

Well, I contacted SecCommerce about the issue, the response was, that I should sign the file later (afterwards). This is a solution, but not the best in my opinion.
When I sign the document the SecSigner window/Java window appears and freezes. Adobe is not responding. I have to terminate Adobe because the program is not responding.
I only found this support website, so I have realized that this is a User 2 User site, but it was a try to get some help.

Do you mean FI postings/entry during PO creation? If yes, then, no FI postings/entry occur during PO creation. PO creation originates in MM. Not linked with FI at that stage.

U can use the user exit
COPCP005 and its function exit EXIT_SAPLCKAZ_001. Try this out....
Or choose any one options from the below list which suits ur requirement:
    Develop Enhancements for Material Costing
The following SAP enhancements are available for the area Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure:
    o Costing Reports (SAPLXCKA)
o Costing Production Resources and Tools (COPCP003)
    o Material Valuation with Cross-Company Costing (COPCP001)
    o Costing Bulk Materials (COPCP004)
o Valuation Price for Materials from User Exit (COPCP005)
    1. Costing Reports: SAPLXCKA
Here you can create your own reports for displaying cost estimates with quantity structure or activate the example reports in the standard system.
This enhancement contains the following components:
    · EXIT_SAPLCKAZ_001 Display/print itemization
This enhancement contains example program code from SAP that you can modify and use for your own enhancement, or activate directly as a report for the itemization.
    · EXIT_SAPLCKAZ_002 Display/print cost components
This enhancement contains example program code from SAP that you can either modify and use for your own enhancement, or activate as a report for the cost components.
    · EXIT_SAPLCKAZ_003 Display/print cost components and itemization
This enhancement does not contain example program code.
In the cost estimate with quantity structure you access the reports with Costs -> Display user exit. The report refers to the first cost component view listed. If you want to see the costs with reference to another cost component view, choose Settings -> Cost display and choose the desired report under Select view.
You can display your own reports in the information system by adding them to the report list for product costing.
    See also:
Check report list for material cost estimate
    2. Costing production resources/tools: COPCP003
This enhancement contains the component EXIT_SAPLCK01_001.
The costs for production resources and tools are calculated as a flat rate within production overhead.
This enhancement enables you to plan the costs for production resources in costing with quantity structure in different ways. Here you can specify how the production resources are to be costed.
In the cost component structure, the production resources can be shown in separate cost components.
This enhancement contains example program code from SAP that you can modify or use as is.
    3. Material valuation with cross-company costing: COPCP001
This enhancement contains the component EXIT_SAPLCK21_001.
Here you can enter the prices for valuation of a material that is transferred between company codes.
You have the following options for the valuation of materials that are transferred between company codes:
o You are using the standard system without cross-company costing. In this case the system uses a price in the material master record in accordance with the valuation strategy. The material is treated as if it were externally procured.
o You activate cross-company costing. In this case the material is recosted in the other company code or transferred according to the transfer control ID.
If you have not activated cross-company costing, you can use this enhancement to define alternative prices for valuation of a material that is transferred between company codes. That is, this enhancement allows you to specify which price should be used instead of the price from the material master record.
In include LXCKAF)) you can find an example program code. However, this code example can not be directly copied and used
    4. Costing Bulk Materials: COPCP004
This enhancement contains the component EXIT_SAPLKKEX_001.
You can use this enhancement to plan the costs for bulk materials and show in the cost element itemization.
If the indicator Bulk material is set in the material master, the indicator Relevant to costing in in the BOM does not accept input for the item. The enhancement allows you to determine the costing relevancy. The items with the bulk materials indicator at item level of BOM are also included as relevant to costing.
This enhancement contains example program code from SAP that you can modify or use as is.
    5. Valuation Price with Valuation Strategy U: COPCP005
This enhancement contains the component EXIT_SAPLCK21_002.
You can use this enhancement to specify prices for valuation of materials if you want to use valuation strategy U (valuation with USER EXIT) for material valuation to find a price for the materials.
This enhancement does not contain any example program code from SAP.
    Activities
To activate the SAP example reports (the procedure is similar forthe other enhancements):
    1. Create a new project or use an existing one.
    2. Set the indicator SAP enhancements and choose Change.
    3. Enter SAPLXCKA as the SAP enhancement and choose Save.
    4. Set the indicator Enhancement components and choose Change.
    5. Position the cursor on the enhancement component EXIT_SAPLCKAZ_001 and choose Edit -> Use SAP source code.
    6. The system asks whether you want to create ZXCKAU01. Answer Yes.
    7. Maintain the attributes.
    8. Save the program and choose Back.
    9. Position the cursor on the enhancement component EXIT_SAPLCKAZ_002 and choose Edit -> Use SAP source code.
    10. The system asks whether you want to create ZXCKAU02. Answer Yes.
    11. Maintain the attributes.
    12. Save the program and choose Back.
    13. Activate the project.
    14. To display the reports, you must perform costing again.
    Further notes
Unlike modifications, enhancements are always upgrade-compatible because they are implemented in a name range reserved for the customer rather than in the SAP original.
The general procedures for creating enhancements can be found in the enhancement transaction CMOD under Goto -> Online Manual. This takes you to the SAP library where you can find detailed information on customer exits. For more information on the above enhancements, see the associated function module documentation.
    Reward if useful...

  • Quantity in Account Based COPA upon WBS Settlement

    Hi All
I am facing an issue with the quantity flow into Account Based COPA.
We have activated account based COPA and we use sales orders/billing and also Projects.
When I am creating sales order (no reference to WBS), delivery against sales order and billing from delivery, I see that
quantity posted in Delivery document and quantity from billing document are transferred to account based COPA along with GL postings.
But when I am creating sales orders with account assignment of WBS, then all the delivered quantity and billed quantity
are posted to WBS elements along with the FI postings. Receiver on my WBS is COPA segment.
When I settle the WBS that carry both revenues and costs (COGS to be sepcific), I see that amounts are settled correctly with
right GL accounts into account based COPA, but I do not see that quantities getting transferred.
I know how we can transfer quantities using costing based COPA during settlement (using PA Transfer structure with Qty setting), but
not sure how it works in account based COPA for settlements.
Any thoughts on how to transfer quantities from WBS settlement to account based COPA.
    Your help is much appreciated
    Thanks
    Rama

    Hello Rama,
First of all, I want to give you with note 352610 some general
information about the update of quantities in CO. For further
analyses I would recommand you report RKACSHOW where you can
find the relevant tables you can take a look, f.e. table COKA,
COSS(A) and COSS(A). Probabely in table COKA the field 'MEINH'
    is not filled.
Furthermore I want to provide you note 27922 which explains in detail
the system behaviour for settlements in this case.

  • Generation of WBS Settlement Rule

    Hi Folks!
I was wondering if there is any function module that allow me to generate a WBS Settlement Rule for a specific project and for elements on level 3.
If there is no FM for this, is there any workaround to do this.
    Thx for any advise.
    Regards,
    Gilberto Li

    Hi Gilberto,
Hm, not a question that has a simple answer. Settlement rules are first of all defined in customizing how the should be behave and secondly lies the question how to update a CO cost object with this settlement rule.
Let us first assume that customizing is done with a settlement profile named ZZ_PROF for instance. This is defined in customizing like path (from R/3 4.7): Trans SPRO -> Project System -> Costs -> Automatic and Periodic Allocations -> Settlement -> Settlement Profile -> Create Settlement Profile.
My first advice would be to use the "automatic settlement derivation feature" that can be setup in customizing alike. Trans SPRO -> Project System -> Costs -> Automatic and Periodic Allocations -> Settlement -> Settlement Rule for Work Breakdown Structure Element. Read the docu for this node (right click and choose Display documentation) to understand what possibilities and limitations this functionality has. Below this node you have the possibility to define a "settlement strategy" and allocate this to a project profile. There is also an option to define a BADi whereby you you can somewhat influence the automatic generation of settlement rules. You must "obey" the rules in the "settlement strategy" but can do some filtering of SD orders influence and derive a "settlement strategy" baseed on some coding logic of your choice.
To execute these settings on operative projects you run trans CJB1 (collective processing) or CJB2 (indicidual processing).
All in all: This is good functionality but maybe not what you are looking for due to the built in "restrictions" in the "settlement strategy" profile.
My second advice would be: What I did in the past was to write a batch input program that was run just before period end closing (that is before settlement - of course) that did read all relevant WBS elements without a settlement rule and derived a new settlement rule. Finally, updated the setttlement coding block with this info. Processing of the BDC is then done via trans SM35 the normal way.
I also did a check for trans CJB2: In include LKAZBF15 there is the "magic" call to the update FM with name KSRG_GENERATE_RULE. One option could be to set a break point here and run the trans to see what parameters has to be filled. This implies that the customizing is done before, of course. I have a feeling that this is NOT the easist solution to use - to fill the parameters correctly may be difficult
I hope this helps you in deciding what action to take.
Sometimes a simple BDC will do the trick although it may not be a "good" solution.
Disclaimer: There might be some other relevant FM to solve your problem as I am not aware of. If you find one for WBS elements then I would certainly be interested in any findings.
    Regards, Johan
