FI report with example !!!

Can anyone of you please give me few examples of FI ALV reports, I have asked this question before also but nobody replied. I have an interview tommorow, so any help will really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rajeev !!!

Try transaction FBL5N (report RFITEMAR) for example, which is customer items..or FBL1N (report RFITEMAP) for vendors...  but it's probably more important understanding how the FI database tables fit together (BKPF, BSEG, BSIK, BSID and all their friends), and how ALV works in general (plenty of examples on SDN already).

  • Open report with "Save as" and "Open with" dialogue

    Hi,
    I'm using jasper reports within my application. I manage to open them in a new window but in that case the url containing JasperServer username and password is shown. I would like to open the report without showing the url.
    I tryed using a database procedure (http://sqlcur.blogspot.com/2009/02/jasperreports-in-apex.html) but all I get is a alert window saying "file does not begin with ' pdf-'". Couldn't see what is the problem (I used the same procedure as Ino has in his example) so I thought of another way. Is it possible, when someone clicks a button to open a report, to open that report with a "Save as" and "Open with" pop up window?
    The javascript function that I use:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function openLAPopUpJasper(url){
    w = open(url,"winLov","toolbar=false,menubar=false,location=false,resizable=yes, //scrollbars=yes,status=yes,fullscreen=true");
    if (w.opener == null)
    w.opener = self;
    w.focus();
    </script>
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Chinasammy,
    Report Painter allows you to create reports using data from SAP application components, which you can adapt to meet your individual requirements.
    Many of your reporting requirements can already be met by using the standard reports provided by various SAP application components. If these SAP standard reports do not meet your reporting needs, Report Painter enables you to define your specific reports quickly and easily.
    When executing a Report Painter report, it is displayed by the system in Report Writer format. You thus have access to the same functions as for Report Writer reports defined in the same way, and can combine Report Painter and Report Writer reports together in a report group.
    Report Painter uses a graphical report structure, which forms the basis for your report definition and displays the rows and columns as they appear in the final report output.
    To facilitate report definition, you can use many of the standard reporting objects provided by SAP (such as libraries, row/column models, and standard layouts) in your own specific reports. When you define a Report Painter report you can use groups (sets). You can also enter characteristic values directly.
    Advantages of Report Painter include:
    Flexible and simple report definition
    Report definition without using sets
    Direct layout control: The rows and columns are displayed in the report definition as they appear in the final report output, making test runs unnecessary.
    =============================================
    Below mentioned is the process for creating reports using Report Painter as a tool.
    Selecting and maintaining a library for your report: As the transfer structure to Report Painter you use a report table, which is defaulted by SAP and can not be maintained. This table contains characteristics, key figures and predefined columns. In a library, you collect the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns from the report table, which you need for your Report Painter reports.
    When you define a Report Painter report, you assign it to a library. Reports assigned to one library can only use the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for that library.
    When you create or maintain a library, the Position field determines the sequence in which the characteristics, key figures or (predefined) key figures appear in the Report Painter selection lists when you define a report. This allows you to position the objects that you use regularly in your reports at the beginning of the selection lists. If you do not make an entry in the Position field, you will not be able to use this object in Report Painter reports.
    You can use either the standard SAP libraries for your reports or define your own.
    (ii) Selecting or maintaining a standard layout for your report: Standard layouts determine report layout features and the format of your report data.If the SAP standard layouts do not meet your reporting requirements, you can create a new  standard layout or change an existing one.
    (iii) Defining row and column models: A model is a one-dimensional, predefined reporting structure that you can insert in either the rows or columns of your report.If you often use the same or similar row or column definitions in your reports, it is recommended that you create row or column models.
    You must define the row and/or column models that you want to include in your report definition before you define the report.
    You can also use the standard column models supplied by SAP.
    (iv) Defining the report: Defining a Report Painter report involves the following steps.
    (a) Define the report columns: You define the report columns using the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for the library that the report uses. Alternatively, you can use a column model for column definition. Column models are predefined column structures which you insert into your entire column definition, instead of defining each individual column.
    (b) Define the report rows: You define the report rows using the characteristics selected for the library selected for the report.
    Alternatively, you can use a row model for your row definition. Row models serve the same purpose as column models, but are used to define a report row.
    Edit and format the report rows and columns in line with your requirements. (For example, you can hide rows or columns, define the column width or define colors for your report rows).
    (iii)Define general data selection criteria for the selection of your report data: Selection criteria are the characteristics used to select data for the entire report. You cannot enter characteristics as data selection criteria if they are already being used in the report rows or columns.
    (iv) Assigning the report to a report group: Once you have defined a report, you must assign it to a report group. A report group can contain one or more reports from the same library. However, reports that share the same data will select data more quickly and improve processing time.
    Hopw this helps you. Please let me know if you need anything more and assign points.

  • How to create a report with dynamic columns

    Hi all,
    I am using Apex 4.0 with Oracle 10g
    I am creating a report and I need to display columns dynamically based on the item values.
    example:
    I have a table employee with columns name, designation, sal
    In the report page i have a select list with designations and when I select a designation from the select list,
    I need to display the names of the employees horizontally,
    like each name as a new column in the report with that particular designation. and same has to continue when I select different designations.
    Can some one help me how we can do that.
    I appreciate your answer
    Thanks,
    Rik

    Essentially you want to write a pl/sql function which returns a varchar2 string. The contents of the string must be a valid sql statement.
    Once you have done this, you need to add a report region as type sql report and you will have the option of writing it as a query or as a function returning query. Choose function returning query and enter in the function call.
    Note your function must be valid, and must be executable by your apex parsing schema.
    example:
    create or replace
    function test_report(   p1_tablename       in varchar2)
    return varchar2
    is
    v_query varchar2(4000);
    begin
    v_query  :=
    'SELECT * from '||p_tablename;
    return v_query;
    end test_report;Edited by: Keith Jamieson on Aug 15, 2011 4:50 PM

  • How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

    Hi,
    How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
    I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats.  I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
    ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
    However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file.  Is this possible?  I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
    is there a way to do this through these packages?
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.data
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.definition
    Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?
    Thank you in advance for any insights.

                rcd.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().add(oFieldObject, rcd.getReportDefController().getReportDefinition().getDetailArea().getSections().getSection(0), -1);
    Then I get an error (which is not unexpected)
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportDefControllerException: The field was not found.---- Error code:-2147213283 Error code name:invalidFieldObject
    How do I add one of the table.SetDataFields()  to my report to be displayed?

  • Report with Checkbox

    I am trying to follow the example shown at the below link but it is not working. I am modifying some of the code since I am using version 1.6. Any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong. The checkbox appears and I can select and deselect items but I cannot get P6_HOLDER to hold any of the values of the selected items. Thanks!
    http://apex-smb.blogspot.com/2009/01/apex-report-with-checkboxes-advanced.html
    First I created a page item called P6_HOLDER.
    Next I created a report region (sequence 40) with the below code.
    select htmldb_item.checkbox (1, dev_obj_id, 'onchange="spCheckChange(this);"',
    :P6_HOLDER, ':') checkbox, dev_id, dev_obj_desc from edm_dev_obj where
    dev_id = :P6_TEMP_DEV_ID
    **I then created a html region (sequence 1) with the below code**
    <SCRIPT src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></SCRIPT>
    <SCRIPT>
    // Load jQuery
    google.load("jquery", "1.2.6", {uncompressed:true});
    function spCheckChange(pThis){
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$v('pFlowId'),'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CHECKBOX_CHANGE',$v('pFlowStepId'));
    get.addParam('f01',pThis.value); //Value that was checked
    get.addParam('f02',pThis.checked ? 'Y':'N'); // Checked Flag
    gReturn = get.get();
    $f('checkListDisp').innerHTML=gReturn;
    </SCRIPT>
    CHECKBOX List:
    <DIV id=checkListDisp>&P6_HOLDER.</DIV>
    I then created an application process on Demand called CHECKBOX_CHANGE with the below code
    DECLARE
    v_item_val NUMBER := htmldb_application.g_f01;
    v_checked_flag VARCHAR2 (1) := htmldb_application.g_f02;
    BEGIN
    IF v_checked_flag = 'Y' THEN
    -- Add to the list
    IF :P6_HOLDER IS NULL THEN
    :P6_HOLDER := ':' || v_item_val || ':';
    ELSE
    :P6_HOLDER := :P6_HOLDER || v_item_val || ':';
    END IF;
    ELSE
    -- Remove from the list
    :P6_HOLDER := REPLACE (:P6_HOLDER, ':' || v_item_val || ':', ':');
    END IF;
    -- Just for testing
    HTP.p (:P6_HOLDER);
    END;

    Hi
    Create a page level validation (fucntion returning boolean) and write code similar to following
    DECLARE
    v_count NUMBER := 0;
    BEGIN
    FOR i IN 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
    IF APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i) IS NOT NULL THEN
    v_count := v_count + 1;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    IF v_count = 0 THEN
    RETURN TRUE;
    ELSE
    RETURN FALSE;
    END IF;
    END;I take it your report query is similar to following
    select apex_item.checkbox(1,"PK_CLMN") Tick, col2, col3 FROM tbl_nameCheers,
    Hari

  • Report with updateable checkbox

    Here is what I want to do :
    I have a report with a HTMLDB_ITEM.checkbox on a 'Y', 'N' field. I would like to be able to update that value by simply checking and unchecking my generated checkbox.
    Example : select player_no, player_name, htmldb_item.checkbox(1,active,'N','Y') from players.
    I would like to be able to uncheck the active checkbox and the field value for that player(using the player_no) would be updated to 'N' and vice versa when checking the box.
    I had created a process that looped on my checkbox item like explained in the "how to", but only the check items were processed.
    Then I tried adding the following to my select and looping on the second item, but both items do not follow each other. If I have 2 checkbox checked and 10 players, than the item 1(checkbox) has only 2 records compared to 10 for item 2(hidden player_no):
    htmldb_item.checkbox(1,active,'N','Y')||htmldb_item.hidden(2,player_no)
    Is my request feasible ?

    Sorry, I used HTML tags to bold stuff, didn't realize that didn't work.
    Sorry for the slow response, I have been swamped with work.
    I am assuming everyone is using the htmldb_application.g_fxx(i) variables in PL/SQL processes when trying to process their checkboxes.
    Here's an example that would be similar to Patrick's situation (above). This would be in the SQL for the report region:
    htmldb_item.checkbox(1, player_no, decode(active, 'Y', 'CHECKED', null) || htmldb_item.hidden(2,player_no)
    Let me explain why I'm doing this:
    First: htmldb_item.checkbox(1, player_no, decode(active, 'Y', 'CHECKED', null) will create checkboxes. Rows with active = 'Y' would have a checked checkbox, but the value of the checkbox is the player_no. I would assume (and suggest) that player_no is a unique value for that record.
    Second: htmldb_item.hidden(2,player_no) will be the item you wish to update. (I always make this the primary key or unique value, so I can update any data for that record, and it must be the same value as the checkbox value)
    In the How To documents, they tell you to use this for processing checkboxes:
    for i in 1..htmldb_application.g_f01.count
    loop
    --process here
    end loop; where htmldb_application.g_f01 is your checkbox item.
    I have noticed that it only counts the rows that have a checked checkbox. So if you have a report with 10 rows, and you've checked 2 checkboxes, the count for that item is only 2. Where as, the count for you hidden items is 10.
    There are two ways I have made this process work, but here is probably the easiest way I would process all rows (rows with a checked checkbox and rows without the checkbox checked):
    /*this will loop through every row of the report*/
    for i in 1..htmldb_application.g_f02.count
    loop
    /*this will account for when they don't check any boxes*/
    if htmldb_application.g_f01.count != 0
    then
    /*this will loop through the checked checkboxes*/
    for k in 1..htmldb_application.g_f01.count
    loop
    /*this compares the values of player_no of the checkbox and hidden item*/
    if htmldb_application.g_f01(k) = htmldb_application.g_f02(i)
    then
    --process where checkbox is checked
    update xtable
    set active = 'Y'
    where player_no = htmldb_application.g_f02(i);
    else
    --process where checkbox is not checked
    update xtable
    set active = 'N'
    where player_no = htmldb_application.g_f02(i);
    end if;
    end loop;
    else
    --same process where checkbox is not checked
    update xtable
    set active = 'N'
    where player_no = htmldb_application.g_f02(i);
    end if;
    end loop;
    Now I this is not exactly the same thing I have in my process, but this is extremely similar, so excuse any syntactical errors I have made.
    Let me know if this helps. I realize when I post this, all the spacing I have to make the code easier to read is gone, so I would suggest spacing things in notepad for easier reading.

  • Report with bind variables

    Hi,
    I apologize in advance for the newbie question.
    I would like to create a report report_b with a "vertical report exclude null values" template which will show only one record. This report will be called from another report with a default template or perhaps an interactive report - report_a.
    The order of actions is:
    A user logs in queries report_a and gets a result of a few rows.
    She presses the link column of a specific record with id 123 in the report and report_b is called displaying the relevant information of id 123.
    I haven't been able to figure out how to use bind variables to achieve this.
    The use case is: I have a table with dozens of columns. Both reports are based on the same table but report_a only displays 3-4 columns to allow the user to figure out which row he wants to see and then she gets to see all its columns in report_b.
    Many thanks,
    ~ronen

    At a very high level, this is what needs to happen:
    Let us say report_a is on Page 10 (P10), and report_b is on P11.
    When the user clicks a link on a column in report_a on P10, this should a hidden item on P11 (say P11_ID).
    When P11 is displayed, the SQL would use the value stored in P11_ID. For example, Select col1, col2, col3 from table_a where id = :P11_ID.
    If you need more and specific example, please let us know.

  • Sales order report with order attachments

    Hi All
    I am writing a program for a 2 part report that gives a list of sales orders with attachment flags and a list of invoices that do not have the output processed due to the presence of attachment flag.
    Firstly i need help regarding few queries in the process of writing this program.
    1. How can i distinguish between a sales order with attachement and one without an attachment.
    2. What is the related field for attachment in sales header/sales item table(s) or any other sales related table which will contain information of the attachment in the sales order.
    3. If I have an attachment in sales order, will it have an effect in the output being processed for the invoice for that order.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello Erik,
    is there a sales order report with the complete line-item pricing
    breakdown. For example, In VA05 I'm only able to get the Net
    Price and Net Value as an output. I would also like to view the
    breakdown of the conditions (e.g. disounts, tax, etc.)
    Is there another report in SAP that will show this? Or a backend
    table I can pull this information from to create a query?
    The best way to handle your requirement is to create a Custom report using the standard table for Sales Order i.e. VBAK and you can pick up the Document Condition Number. You can pass this number to table KONV and pull up all the values for the active contion type which was responsible for Sales Order price calculation. Please reach out to a ABAPer to develop this sort of a custom report.
    Just FYI, if you want to check out all the value for a specific condition type, then you can use the standard report i.e. V/LD.
    Please update your post after carrying out this exercise.

  • Showing Duplicate records in a report with the count of their occurrence

    Hi Members,
    I am novice to BI. i need your suggestion to achiever one of the functionality. A report is required to be built with columns Incident ID, Task ID, Task Name. The Original report is below:-
    In the above report I have to display only duplicated records once. Distincat records are not required to be shown. That is, if the same no. of Task Name is associated with the same Incident ID then it should be displayed once with the count of their occurrences in a separate column say , Count. For example, the Task 'TASK_MANUAL_KCI'  got 4 times associated with the same Incident ID INC000000001434. Then the report should display this task one time in a report with count 4. Similarly, for INC000000000943 where task 'IPCG Diagnostic Template' got associated 2 times. The Count is 2 for this task.
    Other records should not be displayed in a report.
    Would highly appreciate quick response. Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Neha Pateria

    I tried this Gill, but result is bit different :-
    Seems some little modifications are needed. Report should be displayed like the below one where it says how many times the same Task is associated with the same incident. Eg. Task 'TASK_CIRCUIT_RESOLVER' is associated with the incident 'INC000000001434' 4 times. 'IPCG Diagnostic Template' is associated with  'INC000000000943' 2 times. Similarly for other records.
    But I really thankful to you for giving me the logic proceed further. I tried  '=RunningCount([Task Name]; Row; ([Task Name]; [Incident ID]))'. It gave me desired results. :-
    But the only thing that needs to be done is to bring the single Task associated with the Incident..
    Thanks,

  • Problem of POP LOV  in a  SQL Report  with pagination

    I am using a pop up lov (along with some other fields), HTMLDB_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_LOV(5, null, 'EMPLOYEE_LIST', '20', '50')), in a sql report. This is a report with pagination. Whenever I select any value from pop up lov on first page of the report it gets populated properly in the corresponding text field. But from second page onwards it doesn’t populate any value.
    For example, my report fetches a total of 50 rows, of which I am displaying 15 at a time. The popup lov comes with a text field for each row. Whenever I do select from popup lov for 1-15 rows which come on page 1, the values come up in the text field properly, but for rows 16-30 on second page, 31-45 on third 46-50 on fourth the values do not get populated. When I changed the pagination settings to display 40 rows..the values were still coming properly on page 1(1-40 rows) and not on the next page. Any clues… how to resolve this problem?

    good find. this is a bug that has already been identified and will be corrected in the upcoming patch release for htmldb. a good work-around for now is to use the equivalent declarative options in the tool. so rather than coding your query like...
    select ename , HTMLDB_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_LOV(2, null, 'DEPARTMENT', '20', '50') as "department" from emp
    ...just code it like this...
    select ename , null as "department" from emp
    ...and then use the column attributes screen for your "department" column to indicate that you'd like that col to be rendered as a "Popup LOV (named LOV)" using your DEPARTMENT list of values.
    hope this helps,
    raj

  • Calling report with no parameters from a form should report be a JSP file?

    Hi,
    I'm completely new to the Oracle environment and am having a few beginner problems all I want to find out is how to call a report from a form. I know this question has been asked before but I can't work it out from the answers because people seem to keep talking about rdf files:
    I am trying to call the report with the following code:
    Declare
         report_id REPORT_OBJECT;
         v_rep varchar2(100);
         rep_status varchar2(20);
    Begin
         report_id:= FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('EmployeeRep');
         v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(report_id);
    END;
    My report is called 'EmployeeRep' but it saves it as a JSP file and there is no option to save as an rdf as is mentioned in other posts. I can understand the environments confusion because there is no directory information with the find_report_object command. Does the report have to be stored in a certain directory.
    All I have done with the report is created it from the emp table of the sample Scott database. Any help is appreciated and nothing is too obvious as I say I'm completely new to this.
    Thanks
    Dan

    Try to pinpoint what is going wrong:
    1. Run the report stand alone (from Reports Builder). If that doesn't work, then it won't work calling it from Forms either.
    2. Check if anything has run at all, or if there are report error messages with:
    http://localhost:port/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?
    For a standalone Report Server use:
    http://localhost:port/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=rep_server_name
    3. If it does work, call it from Forms. Is the report output file created (e.g. in the cache directory if destype=cache)? In your code you have run_report_object, but you won't see any output on your screen. To see the output add web.show_document(...) to your report. There are many examples in this forum if you search for run_report_object.
