Field Level Authorisation Control

Hi Expert,
i want field level authorisation control for Usage Probablity in Bill of Material. In CS02- Change Material BOM for some user i want to restrict to change the usage probablity of particular component.
how to do this. i already tried through creating & adding authorisation object in Role but it's not working.
Pls suggest solution with detailed steps.

Dev,
You can better try using, transaction variants using transaction SHD0 and assign them to the respective users.
You can do a search in this forum to find topics on how to create transaction variants.

  • Authorisation object for field level

    Hi all,
In support desk ,Is there any authorisation object for controlling field level changes such as category or priority by message processors.

    Hi.
Not that I know of. I was also looking for something like this and could not find anything.
I think there is even no logging if someone makes any changes to those fields.

  • How to provide F4 help for a field in table control

    Hi Friends,
    I have requirement like below.
1.Create one custom transaction code with header and item information.
2.In item level, we will be designed table control to enter/display the data.
3.Table control’s first field will be material number and next DOT number (Material may have many DOT numbers) and so on.
4.First user will enter material number in the table control’s first row’s first field and go to DOT number field.
5.DOT number has drop down option. If user selects drop down box of DOT number, he gets all the DOT numbers available in database. User selects one DOT number and double clicks on it then it will be populated in DOT number field box.
But for point number 5,  business wants like when ever user enters material number in table control first field then select DOT number’s drop down then they want to see the particular material’s DOT numbers only in the drop down list for selection. Not all DOT numbers available in data base. Same thing should happen for all item lines in table control.
    Please see below example.
Assume data base table has 10 DOT numbers. But material number has only 2 DOT numbers. When ever user enters material number in item level table control and selects DOT number’s drop down then it should show only 2 DOT numbers which are related to particular material number. Not all 10 DOT numbers.
Could you please suggest me, how can we achieve this?

    Hello,
    Check this :-
    For POV
    Input Help in Dialog Modules
You can call dialog modules in the POV event using the event keyword PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
    PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
    FIELD <f> MODULE <mod>.
After the PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST statement, you can only use the MODULE statement together with the FIELD statement. When the user chooses F4 for a field <f>, the system calls the module <mod> belonging to the FIELD <f> statement. If there is more than one FIELD statement for the same field <f>, only the first is executed. The module <mod> is defined in the ABAP program like a normal PAI module. However, the contents of the screen field <f> are not available, since it is not transported by the FIELD statement during the PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST event. You can now program your own value lists in the module. However, this procedure is only recommended if it really is not possible to use a search help. Defining search helps is much easier than PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST, since the system takes over some of the standard operations, such as getting field contents from the screen. It also ensures that the F4 help has a uniform look and feel throughout the system. Furthermore, it means that you do not have to reassign input help to fields on each screen.
Despite the introduction of search helps (and search help exits), there are still cases in which you need to use parts of the standard F4 functions directly. In this case, there are some standard function modules that you can use in the POV event. They support search helps, as well as all other kinds of input help, and are responsible for data transport between the screen and the input help. These all have the prefix F4IF_. The most important are:
    F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST
Calls the input help of the ABAP Dictionary dynamically. You can pass the component names of a structure or database table of the ABAP Dictionary to the function module in the import parameters TABNAME and FIELDNAME. The function module starts the ABAP Dictionary input help for this component. All of the relevant screen fields are read. If you specify the import parameters DYNPPROG, DYNPNR, and DYNPROFIELD, the user’s selection is returned to the corresponding field on the screen. If you specify the table parameter RETURN_TAB, the selection is returned into the table instead.
    F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST
This function module displays a value list that you created in an ABAP program. The value list is passed to the function module as the table parameter VALUE_TAB. If you specify the import parameters DYNPPROG, DYNPNR, and DYNPROFIELD, the user’s selection is returned to the corresponding field on the screen. If you specify the table parameter RETURN_TAB, the selection is returned into the table instead.
There are also two function modules - DYNP_VALUES_READ and DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE - that can read the values of screen fields and return values to them during the POV event. For further information, refer to the relevant function module documentation.

    MODULE INIT.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    MODULE CANCEL AT EXIT-COMMAND.
    PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
    FIELD CARRIER MODULE VALUE_CARRIER.
    FIELD CONNECTION MODULE VALUE_CONNECTION.
When the user chooses input help for the individual fields, the following is displayed:
For the Airline field, the POV module VALUE_CARRIER is called. The function module F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST displays the input help for the component CARRIER1 of the structure DEMOF4HELP from the ABAP Dictionary, namely the search help DEMOF4DE. The user’s selection is returned to the screen field CARRIER.
For the Flight number field, the POV module VALUE_CONNECTION is called. The function module DYNP_VALUE_READ transports the value of the screen field CARRIER into the program. The program then reads the corresponding values from the database table SPFLI into the internal table VALUES_TAB using a SELECT statement, and passes the internal table to F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST. This displays the internal table as input help, and places the user’s selection into the screen field CONNECTION.
    For POH------------
    Field Help
There are three ways of displaying field help for screen elements:
    Data Element Documentation
If you place a field on the screen in the Screen Painter by copying a ABAP Dictionary field, the corresponding data element documentation from the ABAP Dictionary is automatically displayed when the user chooses field help (as long as the help has not been overridden in the screen flow logic).
For further information about creating data element documentation, refer to data elements.
    Data Element Supplement Documentation
If the data element documentation is insufficient, you can expand it by writing a data element supplement
Data element supplement documentation contains the heading Definition, as well as the following others:
    Use
    Procedure
    Examples
    Dependencies
To create data element supplement documentation for a screen, choose Goto ® Documentation ® DE supplement doc. from the element list of the screen. A dialog box appears in which the system proposes a number as the identified for the data element supplement. You can then enter help texts for the above headings using the SAPscript editor.
Data element supplement documentation created in this way is program- and screen-specific. Any data element supplement documentation created in the ABAP Dictionary with the same number is overridden by the screen-specific documentation. You can link existing data element supplement documentation created in the ABAP Dictionary with a screen field by using the table THLPF. To do this, crate a new row in THLPF containing the following data: Program name, screen name, field name, and number of the data element supplement documentation.
To display data element supplement documentation, you must code the following screen flow logic in the POH event:
    PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST.
    FIELD <f> [MODULE <mod>] WITH <num>.
After PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST, you can only use FIELD statements. If there is no PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST keyword in the flow logic of the screen, the data element documentation for the current field, or no help at all is displayed when the user chooses F1. Otherwise, the next FIELD statement containing the current field <f> is executed.
If there is screen-specific data element supplement documentation for the field <f>, you can display it by specifying its number <num>. The number <num> can be a literal or a variable. The variable must be declared and filled in the corresponding ABAP program.
You can fill the variables, for example, by calling the module <mod> before the help is displayed. However, the FIELD statement does not transport the contents of the screen field <f> to the ABAP program in the PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST event.
For further information about data element supplement documentation, refer to Data Element Supplements.
Calling Help Texts from Dialog Modules
If data element supplement documentation is insufficient for your requirements, or you want to display help for program fields that you have not copied from the ABAP Dictionary, you can call dialog modules in the POH event:
    PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST.
    FIELD <f> MODULE <mod>.
After the PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST statement, you can only use the MODULE statement together with the FIELD statement. When the user chooses F1 for a field <f>, the system calls the module <mod> belonging to the FIELD <f> statement. If there is more than one FIELD statement for the same field <f>, only the first is executed. However, the contents of the screen field <f> are not available in the module <mod>, since it is not transported by the FIELD statement during the PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST event. The field help should not be dependent on the user input.
The module <mod> is defined in the ABAP program like a normal PAI module. The processing logic of the module must ensure that adequate help is displayed for the field in question. Instead of calling an extra screen with text fields, you should use one of the following function modules to display a suitable SAPscript document:
    HELP_OBJECT_SHOW_FOR_FIELD
This function module displays the data element documentation for components of any structure or database table from the ABAP Dictionary. You pass the name of the component and structure or table to the import parameters FIELD and TABLE.
    HELP_OBJECT_SHOW
Use this function module to display any SAPscript document. You must pass the document class (for example, TX for general texts, DE for data element documentation) and the name of the document to the import parameters DOKCLASS and DOKNAME. For technical reasons, you must also pass an empty internal table with the line type TLINE to the tables parameter of the function module.
For further information about how to create SAPscript documents, refer to the Documentation of System Objects documentation.

The screen flow logic is as follows:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    MODULE CANCEL AT EXIT-COMMAND.

The components FIELD1 and FIELD2 of structure DEMOF1HELP both refer to the data element DEMOF1TYPE. This data element is documented, and also has two supplements with numbers 0100 and 0200.
The following field help is displayed:
When the user chooses F1 on the input field for DEMOF1HELP-FIELD1, the data element documentation for DEMOF1TYPE is displayed, since the field does not occur in the PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST event.
If the user chooses F1 repeatedly for the input field DEMOF1HELP-FIELD2, the data element documentation is displayed, along with the supplement documentation for either 0100 or 0200 alternately. The variable VAR is filled in the dialog module F1_HELP_FIELD2.
When the user chooses F1 on the input field for FIELD3, the data element documentation for DEMOF1TYPE is displayed, since this is called in the dialog module F1_HELP_FIELD3 by the function module HELP_OBJECT_SHOW_FOR_FIELD.
When the user chooses F1 on the input field for FIELD4, the SAPscript documentation DEMO_FOR_F1_HELP is displayed, since this is called in the dialog module F1_HELP_FIELD4 by the function module HELP_OBJECT.

  • OLMRLIST MIRO Chance Sequence of Fields in Table Control

    Hello Guys,
Do you know exactly how I can change the sequence of the fields on the Item-Level-Table-Control in MIRO. I am using a Z* transaction variant which I choose in MIRO, this works fine.
I checked T-Codes OLMRLIST and SHD0, but I dont see there a chance to change the sequence. Can you indicate me the excatly path to follow.
For your help .... best regard.
    BR
    Manuel

    Hi Manuel,
You can do the sequence change in OLMRLIST transaction itself.
first create the variant as Z* then go to the MIRO screen there change the sequence of the columns as per the requirement on the MIRO screen. Then system will ask you the copy the settings with screen name and description enter the details  there you need to select the check box Adopt column sequence and if you want Adopt column width also in the table control TC_MR1M. Then Press Exit and save system will ask the object check with company objects which will be available from technical guys. then save this variant for MIRO transaction.
when ever you select this Z* Variant you will find your changed column sequence as per you settings.
Hope you find the solution.Check & confirm

  • To add a custom field in table control in transaction me21n and me22n

    Hi Guru's,
I have a requirement to add a field in the table control at the time of creation of PO (ME21N). I enhansed the structure MEPO1211, but it is not appearing in the transaction. What should i do in order to bring that field in table control.
I implemented badis ME_GUI_PO_CUST and ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST by seeing some forum results. But i didnt get how to implement...
Please help me in this regard how to follow the steps and if possible please provide a sample code.
    Thanks & Regards,
    R.P.Sastry

    hi,
Suppose in the there are three tabs BADI customer1, BADI customer2 and BADI customer3 at item level.
    Say:
On BADI customer1 there are three fields FIELD1, FIELD2 and FIELD3.
On BADI customer2 there are two fields FIELD4 and FIELD5.
On BADI customer3 there are three fields FIELD6, FIELD7 and FIELD8.
Then the fields have to be added to EKPO (or requisite custom table as the need may be) and also fields are also to be added to custom structures.
Create a Structure ZSTRUCTURE1 which will contain the three fields FIELD1, FIELD2 and FIELD3.
Create another Structure ZSTRUCTURE2 which will contain the two fields FIELD4 and FIELD5.
Create another Structure ZSTRUCTURE2 which will contain the three fields FIELD6, FIELD7 and FIELD8.
The Structure STRUCTURE1 has to be passed for tab BADI customer1, the Structure STRUCTURE2 has to be passed for tab BADI customer2 and the Structure STRUCTURE3 has to be passed for tab BADI customer3.
Each custom tab/screen should have its own structure to handle the screen fields, but the screen field data has to be transfered to and from EKPO (or requisite custom table as the need may be) for database update/retrieve.
    Hope this helps.

  • Setting field level security

I have created a form in LiveCycle in which two fields (Header and an Image block) need to be editable by one user type (e.g. power user), but should not be changeable by the end users.  They will only be able to fill in other fields in the form.  So far I have only been able to set form level security.  Is there a way to apply security to just these two fields, perhaps requiring a password, so that the power user can update these two fields as needed?
Thanks for any ideas you might have!

    Hi Diego,
Thanks for responding.  We aren't using the LC PM module, so that takes one suggestion out of the running.
We tried some Javascript we found on the Acrobat forum (see below for what we used) - using it as an action with a bookmark, but it didn't work.  The guy who wrote the script on that forum looked at our file and thought that the problem was likely because the form was developed in LiveCycle.  We are not Java experts (or even close!), so we have no clue where to start.  And unfortunately if we cannot find a solution for this dilemma, we will have to decline a project from a client.
So again, any thoughts or suggestions on where to go from here are greatly appreciated!
    (function () {
// Get one of the fields in the group
        var f = getField("private.name");
// Determine new readonly state, which
// is the opposite of the current state
        var readonly = !f.readonly;
        var readonly_desc = readonly ? "deactivate" : "activate";
        // Ask user for password
        var resp = app.response({
            cQuestion: "To " + readonly_desc + " the fields, enter the password:",
            cTitle: "Enter password",
            bPassword: true,
            cLabel: "Password"
        switch (resp) {
case "your_password": // Your password goes here
            getField("private").readonly = readonly;
            app.alert("The fields are now " + readonly_desc + "d.", 3);
            break;
case null : // User pressed Cancel button
            break;
        default : // Incorrect password
            app.alert("Incorrect password.", 1);
            break;
In this example, the fields that are controlled by this all have a field name prefix of "private", for example "private.name", "private.address", etc. This makes it easier to control the fields as a group, as I do in the line of code that begins: getField("private").readonly  If you don't use such a field naming convention, you'd have to have a separate such line for each field in the group.
Replace "your_password" above with one of your own. The first and last lines are not necessary, but do prevent the needless creation of document-global variables, which is a good thing.

  • Field level trigger on qualifier field

    Hello,
    Here is my scenario.
I have a qualified field : ACTIVE FLAG  in address qualified table.
What i want to do is if the value of this field changes to N (possible values of this field : Blank,Y and N),i want my workflow to trigger.
I know its possible with field trigger option where you create one time stamp field and will give the field you want to comare
but in case of qualified tables you can not select qualifier as a selected field for timestamp field.you can only select non qualifiers.
is there any other way this can be achieved?
    thanks

SharePoint doesn't provide field level permissions.  Fellow MVP Dan Holme has a good article that recommends some approaches on this here:
    http://sharepointpromag.com/blog/3-approaches-restricting-access-sharepoint-columns-and-metadata
Another approach you could take is to make the form an InfoPath form from in an InfoPath LIBRARY instead.  This way you can control the form fields and prevent users from directly editing fields.  It also plays really well with workflow.
I trust that answers your question...
    Thanks

  • Best way to author field level help for a CHM?

    Hi
I have been asked to create an HTML help (CHM) system for a .Net application which will include context sensitive help at both page and field level.
I have used map ids for page level help before - i.e. assigned a map id to topics and given this list to a developer for implementation, but I have never created field level help.
I've been looking at the 'What's This?' help project wizard but am confused as to whether this is the best approach and how it fits with the project as a whole (or even if it compatible with .Net applications). Does this mean that I need two help projects for the application - one for the main help, and one for the field level help? Is there a way to create field level help without using the 'What's This?' wizard?
    I am using Robohelp 7.
    Any advice gratefully received!
    Chloe

    Hi, Chloe,
As Peter notes, even Microsoft has backed away from using field-level Help in the last few years, so it may be worth trying to determine whether your users will benefit from having it available to them. That's not to say that you can't deliver field-level Help, however, as all the required methods for calling it are still available to .NET developers.
To clarify, what Madcap Software calls "DotNet Help" is just a proprietary Help viewer that the company hopes will be more modern and appealing to writers than the older HTML Help (.chm) viewer. HTML Help remains the recommended format for Windows applications, whether .NET or not, and you can use any authoring tool that is capable of outputting a .chm file to create online Help for a .NET application.
The method that your developers use to call field-level Help determines how it should be authored. If they use the standard .NET method (the SetHelpString method of the HelpProvider class), each text string is embedded in the application code itself, and not retrieved from your .chm file. More information here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.helpprovider.sethelpstring(VS .71).aspx
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821777
    http://helpware.net/mshelp2/demo2/h1xNET.htm
Alternatively, developers can use the old HTML Help API to retrieve the text string from a .chm file. See:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms670082(VS.85).aspx
    http://helpware.net/htmlhelp/how_to_whatsthis.htm
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=317406
The drawback of both methods is that the Help popups are plain text only — no graphics, text formatting, hyperlinks, etc. To work around this, some people use the third-party KeyHelp control to create feature-rich HTML popups. See:
    http://www.keyworks.net/keyhelp.htm
This allows you to deliver the type of Help that you mentioned in your second message ("is there a way to do this so that these topics open in a small popup, without the TOC / tri-pane structure?").

  • Field-level Help possible with WebHelp?

    Hi All,
I'm trying to determine whether WebHelp supports field-level
help, and between reading the online Help and the forums, I'm
confused. The online help states "WebHelp window support is only
available with the context-sensitive Help API." Does that mean that
WebHelp doesn't officially support field-level help? I'm sure we
can implement field-level help with some creative programming, but
I'm not sure of the requirements.
Is the CSH API required for field-level help? Or do we need
only implement the solutions described on
    Peter's
site detailing calling WebHelp? And the RoboHelp Office
    TechNote
    Calling
    Topics with Two Pane View?
I appreciate any assistance that anyone can provide!
    want2bewiser

    want2bewiser -
If you recall, field-level help was implemented by clicking
on a Question mark icon on the top right in the title bar. Your
cursor changed to a Question Mark and pointer, and clicking on a
field, button or other control would evoke a popup.
You can duplicate that functionality, but the lions's share
of the work would be on the developers. You can provide the small
blurbs, but how it is called is up to them.
The API is useful if you might change topic ids often, or if
you need a sort of map file, or if you just want a standard way of
calling Webhelp into a certain window format. But you don't need
the two-pane format instructions for 'What's This' help.
So, your developer will have to add a function to each page
so that, if the user changes the cursor to a 'What's This' curson,
and an object is clicked during this 'What's This' state, an
explanatory popup will, um, pop up.
    ...Otherwise, everything behaves normally.

  • Field level Validation in ADF

    Hi,
We have some forms and we want to implement validation on field level. Means, as soon as i enter a value and move to next field, if the value entered is not as per desired regular expression than it should show the error. What i am trying is applying validator attribute on inputText and setting auto submit to true. It is working but some times page suddenly refresh itself and then the validation don't work.
Also one validation is to match the passwords (new password and confirm password). If i am using above method i am also not able to get the correct value of new password to match eith confirm password.
Can someone please suggest whats the right way to implement this functionality in ADF.
I am using jDev 11.1.1.4 and using Placeholder data control.
    Please suggest
    Thanks

If <af:validateRegExp> meets your requirements then sure, use it. The neat thing about the default validators will do both client side and server side validation. As such bypassing the JavaScript validators by sending raw HTTP requests to your server will still result in the required validation being applied via the server side.
For cross field validation, that's most easily done at the JSF bean level. It will require a round trip to the server to perform the validation though (rather than just validated at the client level). Is that an issue? There's an alternative solution but if you're not worried about round trips, go with the simple solution.

  • ML81N Authorisation control

    Hi All
My reuirement is that I want to authorise a user for transaction ML81N for viewing service entry sheets but he/she should not be able to create a service entry sheet. Is there any way around by which we can have authorisation control in transaction ML81N.
    Regards
    Satish Kumar

    Hi Satish,
When a user tries to perform a service entry the following
    authorization objects are checked:
    M_BEST_EKO  (purchasing organisation)
    M_BEST_EKG  (purchasing group)
    M_BEST_BSA  (document type)
    M_BEST_WRK  (plant).
The authorization check includes a check of the purchase org/group etc
and a check on the activity performed. More technically this means that
the authorization object contains two fields: one field containing the
purchasing org/group etc and another field containing the activity type
For maintaining and accepting entrysheets we have the activity types
'75' and '76'. The activity types for creating and changing purchase
    orders are '01' and '02'.
Thus it is possible to assign a user the authorization for service
entry without having the authorization to maintain purchase orders by
    specifying the activity types accordingly.
This is the description of the two activities.
76 - maintain service entry sheets
75 - accept service entry sheets.
You need this authorizations if you are using service POs and want to
create, change or accept the corresponding service entry sheets.
    I hope this helps!
