Field name BPMNG and BAMNG in table EKBE

Hi there
I have a hard time understanding what does BPMNG and BAMNG in table EKBE. This are all related to quantity upon GR.

HI,
Basically you can see the difference in these two fields are used when you have defined a different Order unit in Purchasing view of materials and a separate Base unit of measure. Then there is a conversion ratio defined between these 2 units. SO under field BPMNG you will see the quantity with base unit of measure according to which you have made the payment, and under field BAMNG you will see what have actualy ordered and it will be equal to MENGE.
Let us take the case where one EA is defined as 10 L, where EA is base unit of measure and L is order price unit, then suppose you have ordered 1 EA and your payment will be made on the basis of 10L (Order price unit is L and per 10) then you will get 10 under field BPMNG and 1 under BAMNG.

The ItemType property is available for the Items Object. As far as the ReOrderQty ... this does not seem to be available as a property. If you must use these properties in your add-on, you could go to the Db directly as they are in the appropriate tables HOWEVER, this is not a recommended approach as data corruption could occur as well as SAP will not certify a solution that used direct table access to the Db. You could put in a request via SAP Support for these properties to be added in coming versions of the DI API.

XD01 fields Name 3 and Name4 not visible

Hi,
I have a requirement, in xd01, when i go to Address tab, by default sap shows only Name1 and Name2 fields, but Name3 and Name4 are visible only after clicking on the "More Fields" button, which will expand and Name3 and Name4 fields will then be shown.
My requirement is to keep these fields open all time.
Kindly let me know the solution.

Now let's focus your question, I have tried to test with your code. But failed.
I would suggest that you could export columns "Name" and "ResourceName" to DataTable.
Then use DataTable to compare and filter with its column value.

Company name change and impact on table T882

Hi
We had to change the name of a company. I did this in IMG via "Enterprise structure->Definition->Financial Accounting->Edit,copy,delete,check company code". This created a transport containing also table T882. Our problem is that the field VTRHJ (Balance carried forward to fiscal year) is set to 2006 in DEV and 2008 in production.
My questions are:
Will this transport create a problem?
What can we do to avoid this being transported incorrectly=

I have been made aware of a note (124382) that covers this issue. The note is only listed up to 4.5b, but it gives a small program (ZZ-program) to correct the entry in T882 in production. It is listed as a design error. I don't know why it is not still valid, as it seems like a design error also today. But I will follow the solution given by SAP.

Can anyone help me out to write a vb.net script.
I need to read the column names from excel and based on that column names I need to create a table in database(I have more than one sheet in excel).
For each sheet columns will be changing and should create a table dynamically for each sheet.

Hi Satya,
In the field data section (technical information), you can double click on the field name then the system will take you to SE11 (Data Dictionary). From here, you can check whether the field is available in tranparent table or structure.
In general, as naren mentioned sales order header data stored in table VBAK and line item in table VBAP, VBEP, etc.
For request delivery date, it stores in table VBAK-VDATU.

Try this:
1) Go to SE15 (Repository info system)
2) Expand ABAP Dictionary
3) Expand Fields
4) Click on Table Fields
5) Enter the field name you want to search in field name or use wild cards with keywords in short decription field (like supplier ) and Execute.
OR
If it's a screen field, do a F1 on the field and click on Technical information on the help window popped up from Menu..this will tell you the field name along with structure or table name.

Code to equate table value to work area field name

Hello Experts,
How to match a certain value fetched from table to the internal table field.
For instance: transparent table has a column containing values as
AMOUNT
QUANTITY
there is another work area structure associated with different internal table consisting of amount and quantity fields.
Now depending on whether the record from transparent table has fetched AMOUNT or QUANTITY, i have to read either the amount or quantity value from the work area.
Can any one please suggest a technique to do it?

Try This:
suppose you have zitab table as trans. Table and another table itab1 with work area wa.
First you need to select values from Zitab to an internal table say itab.
sort itab by <field name>
loop at itab.
read table itab1 into wa with key quantity = itab-quantity
amount = itab-amount.
endloop.
This will read table itab1 where quantity and amount from itab table matches.

When we display a meterial by MM03, under plant stock tab, in the last, there is description of 'Plant Stoicks in previous period'. When I see the field ' Unrestricted Use Stock', there is a value. When I press F1, it looks like its from MARD table, field VMLAB. But when I check the table, there is no value.Please suggest me the table & field name.I also tried the tables MBEWH, MARDH, MCHBH, but its no there. PLease suggest.

from kna1 we can get field kunnr and name1

but it can have multiple name1 and adrnr
so how to pick the kunnr ,name 1 and adrnr from table kna1 and map to

as witinn the table kna1 there can be multiple name1 related to one single kunnr

CFUPDATE problem with field name beginning with a number

I have a form (actually several) that is gathering data for a survey. I tried to use cfupdate to update the data elements and got a string index out of range error. I tested again without the form fields that began with numbers and it worked just fine. I then tried to enclose the offending field names in () and []. Both times I got same error. Does anyone have a work around for this? The code and error are below.
Changing the field names is not really an option. This survey has almost 400 data points and most of the fields begin with the question number.

I think you have run one of CFUPDATE's limitations. I am not 100% certain, but I do not think cfupdate provides a way to escape invalid column names like yours. In which case you may need to do a regular UPDATE within a cfquery instead... or rename your columns.
fields that began with numbers
Most databases discourage creating column names that start with a number (or other restricted characters). While many databases will allow you to escape invalid names, it is simpler all around to avoid them altogether. Otherwise, you may have to escape the names in every single query. The recommendations vary, but usually object names that begin with a letter, and contain only letters, numbers and underscores are considered safe.
This survey has almost 400 data points and most of the fields begin with the question number.
Four-hundred (400) is a lot of columns for a single table. The fact that they all them seem to contain the same type of information (ie response to a question) is an indication that data should probably be stored in a separate table, as rows, not columns. For example questions could be stored in one table, possible answers in another, and the results of an individual test/survey stored in a third table. A structure like that is much easier to query, can easily accommodate changes (add/remove questions, responses, etcetera) without having modify the table every time.
