  • Field that is not visible in my editing screen but showing in web preview. How to remove it?

    Hi Support,
    When I preview my form in web preview, I am seeing a field that is not visible in my editing screen. It starts at the left margin of the web preview and runs off the edge of the right side of the page.
    The form is also crashing when I attempt 'page view' or 'save as pdf' and I believe this phantom field is the culprit. I have spent considerable time on the form and do not want to recreate from scratch.
    Can you please advise how I can make this field visible in the editing section so that I can permanently delete it?
    Further information:
    I do not have any rules set for any of my fields
    I have tried to remove it in Chrome, IE and Firefox
    My cache has been cleared today
    My plug-ins and flash player are all current versions (updated today and performed a restart)
    Thanks,
    Kate

  • How to make OWB ignore a field that is not mapped.

    Hi,
    We're using OWB 10.1.
    I'm just doing a simple load from a flat file to a regular table.
    I discovered that the data file is missing an entire field or column of data.
    The field is not necessary so I'm continuing the load.
    I just remapped the OWB map so it doesn't not pull data from the last field in the data file.
    When it created the control file to do the load, the last field that was unmapped in the OWB map was re-designated as 'DECIMAL EXTERNAL'.
    Then when the map runs to load the data, I get an error message of
    Record 1: Rejected - Error on table "STAGING"."TCMBBX", column "PAID_AMOUNT".
    Column not found before end of logical record (use TRAILING NULLCOLS)So it looks like OWB is still trying to include the last field in the load for some reason when I had unmapped the field in OWB.
    My question is how can one un-map a field or not map a field in OWB and then have OWB ignore the field when running the load?
    This is regarding removing the map line drawn from a field in the data file to a field in the staging table.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
       Declare a range as :
    ranges : r_hkont for bseg-hkont.
    fill in the values
    r_hkont-sign = 'I'.
    r_hkont-option = 'BT'.
    r_hkont-low = '26000000'.
    r_hkont--high = '2999999'.

  • Fields that are not displayed are still submitted

    Is there any way to prevent fields from being submitted? I have fields that are only conditionally displayed on the screen, but the values are submitted every time.
    ie, user enters some field values, submits the page. we branch to the same page and do not clear the values so the user can see what he/she put in last time.
    the user now selects from a select list which causes some of the fields that previously had values to no longer be displayed.
    the user fills out some of the other fields, then submits the page, and all the old values and the new values are submitted. i would like only the new values to be submitted, and the old values not to be submitted.
    is this possible? (and reasonable to implement)

    Original Question:
    Is there any way to prevent fields from being submitted? I have fields that are only conditionally displayed on the screen, but the values are submitted every time.
    Hi Becky,
    Yes Modify your submit procedure to only submit the records that are displayed on the screen.
    I'm not too clear on why or what your trying to do.
    When you submit the page and then branch to the same page.
    Why don't you just make the user edit the record they just entered or create a new record?
    Maybe I've misunderstood something but something your doing in the steps you've described, doesn't seem to be too clear to me...

  • "is not a known entity" error from EclipseLink

    Hi,
    I'm seeing a strange behavior in Weblogic (10.3.3) when using EclipseLink (2.0.2).
    Here is what I do. I use Maven to compile a project in which I use JPA (1.0.2). In this project, module *"A"* depends on module *"B"*. "B" contains a bunch of Entities ( javax.persistence.Entity_ ). But *"persistence.xml"* is in "A" in which all entities of "B" are registered. "B" is deployed as an Optional Package and "A" refers to it via its MANIFEST.
    Deployment is successful but when I run the application and try to persist an entity I get the above error in "A".
    One of the following actions will solve it:
    - Restart the weblogic server
    - Update module A's POM file and explicitly add a dependency to module B. Originally this dependency is not there because classes in module A accept "Object" and pass that through to EntityManager (not explicitly the entity class type). Adding this dependency doesn't change the JAR file's manifest in anyway. It only update the "maven" directory in JAR file's META-INF folder. I don't think weblogic even care about this folder.
    Why should this be the case?
    I downloaded EclipseLinks' source and debugged the application. It seems that the problem occurs because "*+descriptors+*" collection field in "*+org.eclipse.persistence.internal.sessions.AbstractSession+*" class doesn't have the entity's descriptor and thus it doesn't recognize it as an Entity. I reckon restarting the server updates that cache. But what about the second solution? Why is that working? Is "maven" directory in JAR file's META-INF directory known to weblogic?

  • Finding Fields that have validation... HELP I'm Stuck!

    I have a very complex form with 15 views which is status driven (draft, submit, complete, return, UAT, cancel)
    I can run the form through all statuses except RETURN, when I set status=return, all of the sudden some validation comes up that says required fields are not filled out, look for the asterisk or dashed border to find them. The thing is, they are not on the
    canvas... I have checked EVERYTHING. I went through every field within myFields, I even restructured everything, checked ALL rules with the rule inspector, checked everything to do with the status, I cannot find it at all...
    Is there a way for infopath to TELL ME what field it thinks needs data to validate? I am at wits end and have spent over two full days on this.
    Sadly I don't know exactly when this stopped working, so I cannot restore to a previous form version.
    I am looking for something to show me the field that is required. I don't even have access to run any code (I don't have Visual Studio Tools for Applications, nor can I install it).

    So I found the validation error.
    To anyone that finds this from a search: I have several "hidden fields" that are not on the canvas, but get populated from other values and or set by rules or button presses.
    This specific issue was because I had a button press setting: "isReturned" to "TRUE" when status=return but apparently only True is accepted for boolean. I changed my fields to string instead to get rid of that complication. Rather an annoyance as InfoPath
    shows TRUE/FALSE in the available dropdown values, but if you set the value to that (in caps) from something else, it doesn't work properly.
    Another note: The reason I was able to find this was I added the  "Go To Next Error" button to the ribbon, which is not there by default. (I am using infopath filler)
    To do that: File>Options>Customize Ribbon>"Choose commands from" Commands not in ribbon>Go To Next Error> Add
    Then when I had the error, I could click it and it would actually show me the field and error instead of the generic "validation error check for asterisk".
    I really wish I had found this months ago, but probably one of those hard learned lessons for people beginning with infopath.

  • Create a foreign key from a field that is part of a mulitple primary key

    Hi,
    i had a table named T_A, with a double primary key : (A,B)
    Then i created a table named T_B with a field : C.
    I want this field T_B.C to take only values that already exist in field T_A.A.
    So i tried to create a foreign key on my field T_B.C, pointing on the field T_A.A : an error message appeared "not possible to create a foreign key on a field that is not a primary key".
    How can i solve this....? If U have any idea, please mail me !!
    THANX very much.

    Add column A as foreign key into the table T_BHow?
    (was the question from the original poster. Adding a column to table T_B that happen to have same name as the corresponding column in table T_A would not allow you to add the foreign key).
    SQL> create table t_a (a number, b number, primary key(a, b)) ;
    Table created.
    SQL> create table t_b(a number, c number, constraint foreign key references t_a(a)) ;
    create table t_b(a number, c number, constraint foreign key references t_a(a))

  • Field that dosen't permit Copy&paste.

    Hi everybody,
         I need to create an input field in a screen that doesn’t and won’t permit coping from it. In other words an input field that is visible but not selectable. Another way to solve my need would be to restrict the paste of this field.
    I’ve thought of creating an image from it and posting it but it’s too complicated and would consume a lot of resources. If anybody has a better idea or knows how to do this please answer.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Jorge,
    To have a field that does not allow copying from it is difficult to handle. In fact almost impossible, if there is NO other activity on the screen.
    You would have to write your own event handler in ABAP objects and build a trigger mechanism that listens to the activation or déactivation of a field.
    However, in order to give you some help, there is a way to cleanup the CLIPBOARD (so any entries in it are removed, thus preventing a CTRL+V (paste) operation.
    Simply place this in the first PAI module of your screen:
    DATA: myrc TYPE i.
    CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>clipboard_export
      CHANGING
        rc = myrc
      EXCEPTIONS
        CNTL_ERROR   = 1
        ERROR_NO_GUI = 2
        others       = 3.
    Of course you need to handle possible errors (clean up SY-SUBRC). Also keep in mind, that this does NOT prevent COPY & PASTE operation, as long as the screen has NOT passed the PAI event in your program.
    Hope this gives you a clue,
    Regards,
    Rob.

  • Detail subform fields repeat if not un-set ; preamble ?

    Hi,<br /><br />I have a detail subform <detailform1> with Qty - Desc - Price - Extended.<br /><br />When I pass in the following XML, it seems to repeat fields that were not provided.<br /><br />first line has<br /><qty>2</qty><br /><Desc>Cartons of Beer</Desc><br /><Price>$10</Price><br /><Extended>$20</Extended><br /><br />second line<br /><Qty>1</Qty><br /><Extended>$30</Extended><br /><br />But it appears as <br />2|Cartons of Beer|$10|$20<br />1|Cartons of Beer|$10|$30<br /><br />I was hoping for<br />2|Cartons of Beer|$10|$20<br />1|||$30<br /><br />I am guessing I have to reset the values each line, if they are not passed in the XML.<br /><br />I don't understand the logic of preamble yet, but I am thinking that I need to define an event for the "Entry" of <detailform1>  to reset/clear the values of all other fields?<br /><br />If you can help me with the syntax for the preamble, I will send you those 2 cartons of beer. We drink Tooheys-New or XXXX here in Australia.<br /><br />Cheers,<br />Jarrod

    I seemed to have got it working.<br />I had a lot of trouble because my XML Group tag was the same as my subform name.  Now I have changed my subform to be called "Detail" and my XML Group tag to be "DetailData"<br /><DetailData><br /><qty>2</qty> <br /><Desc>Cartons of Beer</Desc> <br /><Price>$10</Price> <br /><Extended>$20</Extended><br /></DetailData><br /><br />Central Pro turns this <DetailData> XML  into this ;<br /><br />^group G_DetailData<br />^global qty<br />2<br />^global Desc<br />Cartons of Beer<br />^global Price<br />$10<br />^global Extended<br />$20<br />^group G_END_DetailData<br /><br />In my Preamble, I put these 2 lines<br /><br />^define group:G_DetailData @group:D_Detail.\groupResetFields.<br />^define group:ResetFields \defineresolveglobal:qty.\defineresolveglobal:Desc.\defineresolveglobal:Price.\definereso lveglobal:Extended.<br /><br />From my limited understanding , the first line says, when the line group G_DetailData appears in the datafile, do the following<br />1. @group:D_Detail  : which views the Detail subform (D_ is for dictionary) <br />2. then run the group ResetFields<br /><br />second line, defines Group (subprocedure) ResetFields, which sets the global value of each the fields to blank.<br /><br />Looks like I get to keep my beers.<br />haha<br />Cheers,<br />Jarrod
