File adapter can I avoid that the file is deleted when there's an error

Hello,
my bpel process reads files with records and deletes them from the source directory after successful retrieval (using file polling) and then updates the status of that records in a database.
The problem is that it seems like the file is deleted as soon as it is picked up by the BPEL process so if there's an error with the database connection the file was already deleted from the source directory.
How can I avoid this? The file should only be deleted at the end of the bpel process.

Hi Lara Fernandes,
In this case of database being not available after you have picked up the file by polling, rather than allowing the process to fault and close, you can put the process into manual recovery and then the process can be retried from there, without any loss of data.
This would ensure that it would not matter that the file was deleted from the polling directory as soon as the process was initiated.

We configured the File Adapter as Sender, Transport Protocol =NSF and message protocol as FCC.
In OS we have folder to read the file, but SAP XI unable to read the file.

Hi,
Check the file path & file name , Check the processing mode parameter which you have set?
Check the folder properties & provide all the permission ...
Finally check the communication channel status in RWB, If the problem persist try to stop & start the communication channel again..

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

How to stop the posting of documents when there is an error in record

Hi,
I have one issue with respect to posting of documents.
In my Exl sheet there are 1900 records which would split into 950 records during run time.
For each 950 records a document to be created. Here the issue, during test run thers is no error where all the validations are done and records in xl sheet are correct.
However when posting, i am submitting to to standard program rfbibl01, where it is creating the session and output of the program is not showing any errors - report.
During execution of session, it is creating document for 1 set of 950 records and for 2 set it is finding some error and not creating any document.
Now my requirment is as follows: since there is an error in second set, i don't want to post any record starting from the begining. No document should be created.
In my program once i have submitted to standard document i don't have any control over the progam in stopping the creation of session or document creation.
Any solutions are most welcome.

File Adapter - In wich order reads the files ?

Hi, I need to know in which order a File Adapter Reads several files from a directory.
For example if my communication channel read files with this pattern: TestFile*.txt
And in the directory I have...
TestFile_1.txt
TestFile_20082312.txt
etc...
Wich file it will read first, second, third.....?
It is by date of creation? it is by name? ascending? descending? Does Anyone knows?

Is there a setting such that the application closes (quits) when the (last) file is closed? Why does the application remain active when there are no files for it open?

I honestly did try to find my own answer, but cannot. Not sure why a simple question would have its answer so difficult to find. I'd just like the application to simply close after the last file is closed. It seems strange to have the application remain active. Thanks for your help.

How can i know that the material already deleted ?

I'm new in SAP and need a help. In PP if an material is deleted or changed, it is marked as X in the xloek field of the RESB table. And when the order is TECO'd all the materials X'ed as weel. So how can i distinguish a deleted material in the order from the others? Please help.

Hi,
I think I've found the answer and i want to share.
First i take the object number of the material from the RESB table with the objnr field.
Then look the JCDS table with that value. If an object exist with I0013 status and inact field
is not X, it is really deleted.
My query is
select single * from JCDS where objnr = resb-objnr
and stat = 'I0013'
and inact <> 'X'.
The statues can be seen the transaction bs22.

File Adapter: Is it possible to track files?

Hello XI community,
I've a scenario where the sender and receiver is the file adapter using NFS. When XI picks up the inbound file from a certain directory with a wildcard name like "T_xxx*" is there any chance to see the original name? In addition I'd like to know how to find out the relationship between the inbound filename and the outbound name which is actually created from the file adapter like "xxxxx_timestamp.xxx". The files I'm using are binaries so I don't use the file content in anyway. They are just passed through XI. But I'd like to track the files to be able to know which input file belongs to which output file. Maybe some of you know where to see this.

Sender file adapter - Can I use *.xml for the file name

Hi Gurus,
I have some interfaces where I need to pick the file from a directory. The name of the file will have Data<i>time stamp</i> as the naming convention. Can I use *.xml to pick up my files from this directory?
The help.sap.com documentation says that we can use this naming convention.

I tried using *.xml for my file name in the communication channel, XI is not picking up this file.

I am using GuildFTP tool as my FTP server. In this tool, all the permissions were given for the file to pick up.
The status of the file is good.
Where in the file adapter configuration I have to select 'Read-only'?
The file adapter is working perfect with the exact name of the file.

I have an SD card that my husband uses for a trail camera. The camera does not have a delete function for the pics, so I put the SD card in our MAC and we can view the pics but when I go to delete them it says that the files cant be deleted. What can i do

My husband has an SD card he uses for his trail camera. We put it in our mac book pro and can look at the pictures but when I go to move them to the trash it tells me that the files can't be moved to the trash because they cant be deleted. I have Nikon camera software on my mac and it pics up and asks if you want to import the pics and if you want them deleted from the devices afterwards. I tried that but I get a message afterwards that says that some files were not able to be deleted. When I go to check, none of them were deleted. How can I clean of the SD Card? I do have a camera I could stick it in, it would just be nice to know how to do it from my mac. Also, the files are jpg. if that matters.

AFAIK cameras offer their own built-in format utility for inserted SD cards. You should use that. Otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your camera to determine precisely how your SD cards need to be formatted to work properly. Personally, I'd suggest Partition Scheme: MBR, and Filesystem: FAT32.
Try to limit the number of formats you perform on the SD cards, though, as you're reducing their lifespan. I believe formatting causes re-writes to a portion of the SD card that has fewer read/write cycles than the rest of the card as a whole.

I have installed Firefox 4 twice, and each time I get a message that the file is corrupt and can't be opened.

I ordered a download of PagePlus X5 from Serif in the UK. The program is 706 MB. Several times, only 300+ MBs downloaded. The program had .exe but the partial download had .msi. The message that came up was "Setup was unable to find the msi package or patch . . ." Serif suggested I install Firefox as a web browser to see if the program would download. That is what I tried to do, and that is when I got the message that the file was corrupt. Serif is sending me a disk. Is there a disk for Firefox?

How large is your iPhone's storage? 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB? You can go to Settings > General > Usage, and that will tell you how much storage you have used and how much you have left. If the storage is truly almost full, then you would need to either delete files from your iPhone, or sync less files from iTunes to your iPhone.

Well you can sync your iPod/iPhone to yur computer or laptop then take the photos off of your iPod like taking photos of of a SD card (from a normal camera) or off of a USB..! Good Luck. plz tick this saying This solved my question if it helps you.

1. Basically I am taking photos with a monochrome setting with my 5D and the screen shows monochrome.
2. when i import this onto my computer and open with PS, it opens in colour.

i don't know what version of ps you have so i can't say if it can be updated to use that, but update anyway.
