FILE ADAPTER NOT READING FILE.

HI, GUYS.
I'M USING A FILE ADAPTER TO READ A FILE THAT HAVE 4 REGISTERS AND EACH REGISTER ONLY HAS ONE FIELD THAT IS NUMBER TYPE.
I CREATE THE FILE ADAPTER, AND I LET BPEL TO CREATE THE SCHEMA. THE IDE CALLS THES FIELD "C1". I ALSO CONFIGURE THAT THE FILE THAT MUST RAD IS THE PATTERN "*.TXT" AND EVERY 5 SECONDS.
THEN A CREATE A RECEIVE ACTIVITY THAT RECEIVES WHAT WAS READ FROM THE FILE ADAPTER IN A VARIABLE.
THEN I CREATE AN ASSIGN ACTIVITY AND I ASSIGN THE VALUE FROM THE RECEIVE ACTIVITY VARIABLE TO A NUMBER VARIABLE THAT IS THE INPUT OF A WEB SERVICE.
THEN I DEPLOY THE BPEL, AND I INITIATE IT, BUT I GOT AN ERROR THAT SAYS THAT THE FIELD "C1" IS EMPTY. SO LOOKS LIKE THE FILE ADAPTER IS NOT READING THE FILE. I WOULD THANK ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN BRING ME.

You're sure the interface of the fileadapter (client partnerlink) is the same as your data-file which needs to be picked up?
can you paste the content of the file and the content of the xsd of the process.

However, I found a problem in my file sender adapter. My file adpater always not picking up the first line from my text even I have set the 'Document Offset' to 0.

There are 2 payslips as for the top payslip node...Header1 tag is missing. It means that during the file sender step....the first line of my record which is :-
"H1|DIZ1                          |A0016507    |10000020|09/2007"
is not read into the xi pipeline. Basically this is the problem i faced.
Has somebody facing the same problem before? Currently I have no choice but moved the First line of the text into Second line and left the first line of the text become null/ empty line. As such both records can be successfully read by the XI.
However what I wondered is sometimes clients will do insert the records into the first line and this might made some data loss.

File adapter not reading file suddenly

Hi,
My File to IDOC scenario was working properly. Suddenly the file adapter is not picking the file from the location. I have not changed any code. I checked all users, are in unlocked mode only. The log file throws error. Let me know any solution to resolve this

2) Activate the scenario.
3) If u r using FTP may be ur credentials wereexpired.check the credentials.

File sender adapter not reading

Hi experts,
We're getting an issue with the File sender channels in our system.
None of the files we place in the source directory is read by our channels.
These channels are NFS. We've already gave all permissions to SO user <sysid>ADM.
The CC monitor don't show us any error, it's working as if there were no files in the directory, when there are.
Does anyone know what could be happening? And is there any other place/log when we can check?

Hi Luis,
Check the permission bits of the file you are trying to read . If the source system is unix all of RWX bits must be set to 1. If you do not have access to change the file access permission in unix folder you can take help of Basis team or another way is to use the option Run Operating System Command Before Message Processing. Here you can mention
chmod 777 *.*
This will make all files available for PI to read, write and execute.
Second reason maybe that your channel might have got locked and is unable to pick up files. Although in CC monitoring you can see polling is going on. Please request your Basis team to look into the communication channel properties.

File Adapter Not Reading Large Files

Jdeveloper:- 11.1.1.6
SOA:-11.1.1.6
Weblogic:-10.3.6
JDK:-SUN
Allocated RAM:-16GB
Currently we are in UAT Phase and now we are facingan issue in reading large file.Below is the Design details of the service
FileAdapter(Read)-->Bpel(Business login,Using FlowN)-->FileAdapter(Write CSV),JMS Adapter(AQ JMS topics)
In this case at the time of read itself we are facing issue. File adapter reading xml file but in receive activity receives input data as
xmlDocKey:1C135990067411E3BFA6B5087B629F9DI
I really couldn;t understand about the error. Even i tried reading as Opaque format and still end up with same error.
In order to make sure i have create mediator and tried reading the file, in case i was able to read file upto 15mb with out any error.Also i tried as "read as Attachment" in Bpel component and able to read the attachment upto 7 mb file, but this is hitting the performance side.
I request some one please let me know why the file adapter is giving XmlDOCKey rather then XMLContent to the inputvariable

Can you check your BPEL Properties in EM?
Go to Soa-infra > right Click > SOA Administration > BPEL properties
increase the Dispatcher Engine Thread = 10, Dispatcher Invoke Threads = 60 and Dispatcher Engine Threads to 90
Click on "More BPEL Configuration Properties"
Increase the DispatcherMaxRequestDepth from 600 to 1000.
Bounce the server and see if works..
Bounce the server and try again.
If this fails, try get a threshold by increasing the file size until it fails again.

File adapter not reading (not starting polling interval)

Hello,
I've got one communication channel trying to read a file each 10 seconds.
The file adapter is configured correctly and the channel is started but sometimes it stops the polling interval process and I don't know why.
For example the channel was working fine until Friday but with no reason it stopped to attempt to read the file on the directory... what can it be?
And another question. What's the difference about communication channel with "Automatic control" or "Started" manually?

Whenever you create new communication channel in Integration directory and activate it,its status in control data is Automatically and whenever you change it in RWB (Stop/Start) its status changes to Mannually.

File-Sender Adapter File not read from folder

Hi everybody,
in CC monitoring I see that the adapter poll successful on a folder. But the file is not read! The mode is "delete"
Any ideas?

is ur CC "green" in Adapter monitoring?
generally wen the file is polled but bot deleted this is the problem with authorization for deletion for that destination n we c "red" in CC monitoring.
but this case doznt ensure that ur scenario hasnt run. the scenario may still be successful and the problem may be only with deleting the file.

File Adapter fixed length Native format Builder schema not reading the data as expected

We are using a File Adapter for reading a fixed length data. Using the schema we are able to read the file but the places are incorrect. Following is the schema that we used and the payload.
At the last you can find our expected read of data how it should be.

at step 8 of 9 of the file adapter wizard, the icon appears as a cog, on the right, with caption "define schema for native format".
I have JDev 11..1.1.3.0
The problem might be with the version of the SOA extensions you have installed....

Sender file adapter not polling the file

hi all,
i have configured a filexifile scenario....
but the file sender adapter is not polling the file at all....
i dont c any message either in RWB or in SXMB_MONI
i checked the adapter framework url at <i>http://<ximachine>;<port>/AdapterFramework</i>....and the status for the file adapter is green...
but the message it gives there is

y is the sender adapter not polling the file..
i am using NFS as my File System....i gave the source directory as <i>d:/test_dir/</i>
is this way of specifying the source directory on a windows machine correct...

There is probably something wrong with the File Adapter. You will need to go to the RunTime Workbench >> Component Monitoring >> Display >> Click on the Adapter Engine >> More information will display and click on the button 'Adapter Monitoring' >> A new window will display and click on the arrow next to your adapter engine. This displays a list of adapters running on your system. Green light means good; Red, you have a configuration problem. Look at the error and try and resolve it.

File Adapter to read from remote file server query

I want a SOA 11g application to read files on remote server using File Adapter. Is it possible to configure the File Adapter to read from remote location instead of locally. Is it possible. Is yes where can I find the associated remote file configuration documentation.

I also changed one more properties the FTP connection factory called serverType=win. I get bits and pieces in each document. Is there any working example to connect to an FTP server running on Windows using Ftp Adapter. Still not working.

Sender file is not read all the records

Hi Experts,
we got file to file scenario in production, sender file adapter did not read whole file, it did pick up some of the records only insted of whole file.
Can anyone please suggest me why sender file adapter pick some of the records only.

Try increasing the value for parameter Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check .Ideally this parameter starts polling once your standard poll is over and checks if file size has changed. Incase its changed it further polls and keeps doing so until file size remains constant(meaning file modification is over).
Did you try out the other alternative? Using a script to place the processed files to a separate folder and pointing your fileadapter to the same.
Or
As fariha suggested you can check the application responsible for putting the file in the server location. Giving it a seperate name as long as its processed like *.tmp or something and you can use exclusion mask in sender file adapter to avoid processing of the *.tmp file.

FtpAdapter not reading files consistently

I'm using Ftp Adapter to read files from ftps server. It is not reading files consistently. All of a sudden it stops reading the files. Once I restart the run time instance, it starts reading again. There are no errors in logs.
The wsdl configurations and oc4j-ra.xml is given below. Is there any configurations to be done for clustered environment? There are 2 run time instances trying to read files from same directory in the same ftps server.

The fact that two instances are reading the same directory doesn't look that good to me. In parallel, the DB Adapter, polling for new records must not have two instances polling for the same table! Another issue could be problems on the FTP server itself. FTP connections are in Passive mode. It could be that the FTP server runs into portnumbers that are blocked in the firewall. This can be read from FTP logging on the FTP server itself.

If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

My PC is not reading my itunes music files, all I get is '!'

Hi, my computer recently crashed and I had to recovery the HDD and lose all my materials, but I still had all my itunes media on a separate drive. Anyway, I redownloaded itunes and now I added a folder of over 4800 songs, all either individual mp3 files or albums in folders. Now that all the albums are up (I lost a lot of the album covers too) I am having trouble playing music on itunes.
Whenever I click on most songs, I get a '!' saying that I have to now search for the file because it cannot be found. I have to search for EVERY song before it can find it. I have over 4800 songs, so I can't realistically search for EVERY ONE. Under 'Preferences' I went into "Advanced" and chose the folder where my songs would be read from. Yet still I have this problem. Funny thing is that it doesn't do it for EVERY song, but I would say about 90% of them. Why is my itunes not reading my files? I have the latest version of itunes on my PC and there is no problem with any of my mp3 files as they are all well and play fine on my ipod. The strange thing here is that all of my movies play just fine, I have 34 digital copy movies on my itunes. I have Windows 7.
Please help, this is a really annoying thing to deal with!

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice.
