File association error with office 2007 documents

I recently upgraded from office 2003 to office 2007 and now Bridge CS3 will not open my office documents with office 2007. I looked in the file associations preferences and did not see doc, docx, xls, xlsx, etc. in there at all. I have also looked at re-installing just Bridge CS3 but there is not an option for that when I put in the installation discs.
Please help...

This is not a Bridge problem! You would need to get it working from explorer first, you need to setup the file associations! after you have done that you should be able to open your documents from Explorer and Bridge.

  • Protect Word document with Office 2007

    Hi!!!
With Office 2003 and Office 1997 we create an object "WORD.BASIC" and use the method "TOOLSPROTECTSECTION" to protect sections of a word document. With Office 2007 this method does not work and it protect all the document and not the selected sections.
Do you know which methods we can use with Office 2007???? Or how we can solve the problem???
    Thanks a lot!!

  • Web Location URLs for Office 2007 documents (pptx, xlsx, docx) not working

In our current Content Server solution implemented, each content has a Web Location URL and a Native File associated with it. The Web Location URL(for a content in Public security group) is of the following format:
    http://ucmurl/groups/public/intranetcontent/CONTENT_ID.doc
So far when a user clicks on this link, they are just presented with an 'Open' 'Save' dialog box, which clearly shows that UCM identifies this file format. So for a Word 2003 document called test.doc, the Open-Save dialog box says:
    Name: test.doc
    Type: Microsoft Word document..etc.
The behaviour is the same for all Office 2003 documents, pdfs and images. However, it seems like UCM does not identify Office 2007 documents. When I check-in a content - test.pptx, and click on the Web Location URL, it prompts me to Open/Save a 'ZIP' file, which is what UCM does for any unidentified file formats.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
The file formats under configuration manager have been updated to include the following formats with PASSTHRU conversion (since we dont need any conversion on these):
    pptx: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation
    docx: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
    xlsx: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet
The desired functionality is that when the user clicks on web location url, UCM should identify these file formats, and NOT consider them as ZIP files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try these - if you're using IIS. If not, them something similar should fix.
Update IIS to include additional MIME types
Also, if you want to add all of the Microsoft Office 2007 mime-types to IIS in one step you can do this:
    1. Stop IIS
    2. Edit the metabase XML file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.xml) using a text editor.
    3. Search for the <IIsMimeMap Location="/LM/MimeMap" …> element and append the lines below to the MimeMap attribute
    .docm,application/vnd.ms-word.document.macroEnabled.12
    .docx,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document

  • Does Oracle 11g index Office 2007 documents?

I recently upgraded to 11g, because 10g didn't seem to index Office 2007 documents (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or PDFs v1.5 or higher. I need to be able to search on text in those documents. Everything works fine for PDFs and files generated using earlier versions of Microsoft products, but not for Office 2007 documents. The Oracle documentation for 11g says that it supports Office 2007, but I haven't had any luck. Any thoughts?

All download versions of Oracle software are the full versions. The 11.1.0.7 patchset will work with your downloaded 11.1.0.6, but you will need an Oracle Support account before you can download the patchset.
I believe you can download 11.1.0.7 directly for certain platforms - like Windows Server 2008 64 bit. If you don't have access to Oracle Support this might be an option for testing - you can get a 60 day evaluation copy of Windows Server 2008 [from Microsoft|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=13c7300e-935c-415a-a79c-538e933d5424].

  • OneDrive for Business sync client with Office 2007

We have 700 people organisation using Sharepoint 2013. One of the key features for us is the OneDrive for business that allows us to sync document libraries. BUT there seems to be a big problem with Office 2007 clients, after installing the separate client
opening and creating documents get's broken. Same thing is described here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2014/02/06/you-cannot-open-or-create-office-documents-in-sharepoint-2013-with-office-2010-and-office-2013-products-installed.aspx
Office customization tool cannot be used with standalone client and there is no way to disable Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation support. Technet states that Office 2007 is supported but it surely doesn't feel like it. SP2 fixes this for Office 2010, but that
doesn't help with Office 2007. Is there any solution for this?
    Regards,
    Sampsa

    Hi,
It’s a known issue with Office 2007 or 2010 (without the latest Service Pack) along with SharePoint 2013.
To resolve the issue, you can install Service Pack 2 for Office
2010 and Service Pack 3 for Office 2007.
Or disable the IE Add On - "SharePoint OpenDocuments Class" .
    Thanks,

  • Outlook connector crashes with Office 2007 SP2

Hello. Microsoft has started pushing out Office 2007 SP2, resulting in Outlook crashes for Connector users who apply the patch. The only workaround we've found is to restore the users's system with Windows Restore, and then hide SP2 with Windows Update. A Connector uninstall restores normal Outlook operation. A reinstall of the Connector does not fix the problem.
    We're running Outlook Connector 7.2.402.1.
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-8.04 (built Feb 28 2007)

"the store was x is being reconciled with the indexer for the following reason: the store was last opened on a different machine."
"the store x is being re-pushed to the indexer for the following reason: index reset, re-push entire store"
Is there a solution? Will a patch will be issued for Connector 7.2? I haven't tried Connector 7.3 because our messaging and calendar servers don't meet its version requirements.
    David.

We're seeing the same issue with Office 2007 SP2 and Connector 7.3 Update1. We're running JCS 5 (roughly Update 1 patches on top of it).
Here's the MS error each time. I can click on Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks. As soon as I click on any email folder, crash.

I also tried this with the Office 2007 Outlook Feature pack (also contained within SP2) that was released early for various performance fixes. Same error issue. I resolved by uninstalling the Feature Pack. I tried uninstalling SP2, no luck. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the SJ Connector, no luck.
I will check desktop search, see if I can turn it off for Outlook and see what occurs.

  • SRM interaction with Office 2007

    Hello Gurus,
We need to do some research on how SRM interacts with Office 2007- users are having problems with attached files.
The issue is buyers can't read requisitioners' attachments in SRM.Our requisitioners get upgraded to Office 2007. Default file extension is .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc. SRM does not recognize 4-character extensions, but the file is still good.So file is not readable.
can you guys help me in this?
    Regards,
    Khushbu.

Thanks. My concern is to have compatibility with common features and files in Word, Excel & Powerpoint. Can those be shared back and forth between PC and Mac, assuming both versions of Office are using a common feature set? Probably it will be more about opening files from the PC on Mac than the other way around.

  • Installatn of LO SP3 build with office 2007 gives office 2003 kb907417 err

    Hi.
    Xcelsius and Office 2010
This is further to the above link.
We have our desktop machines wherein we have tried to install Xcelsius 2008 SP3 build and also Live Office SP3 build - with Office 2007 and it works fine. Though the operating system on desktop is Windows 7
However we are testing on moving our desktop machines to the cloud computing.
While we tried installing xcelsius 2008 sp3 build with office 2007 installed locally on thin client of vmware, xcelsius 2008 got installed. on Windows 7
However Live office sp3 build is not getting installed.
Installatn of LO SP3 build with office 2007 gives office 2003 kb907417 error - on windows 7 machine.
    Which is ridiculous.
This was an old error of 3.1 which was required for .net 2 framework and the microsoft patch related to office 2003. Which cannot be run on windows 7 ???
But still that error comes up ? Error says :
Update for office 2003(KB 907417) not detected on this machine. Please install the update and re-run the setup.
Can anyone advise what is the way to have this error not crop up on LO installation of SP3 build with office 2007.
So that we could complete this installations.
I do not know what exactly is the related patch to be installed on windows 7, so that we do not get this error, on a vm client.
Thanks for the help in advance.

    JUST FOR INFO :
    We sorted the problem finally.
Deleting the entries in registry of office 14.0
HKLM\SW\MS\Office\14.0 - we deleted this entire entry.
Thereafter re-installed office 2007 and installed xcelsius and LO again.
This seems to work on the VM ware clients.

  • Can Contribute Keys be sent with Office 2007 installed?

Maybe Contribute 4 does not work with Office 2007 beta TR? I
have Outlook set as my emailer. Clicking on send key just hangs
Contribute. So is the workaround just to save the key to disk and
send via email attachement? Is that all that function does anyway:
    mailto: with attachement?

    Hi Tatiana,
This is the know issue. I have experienced this issue with one of our client. The cause of issue as below -
    Scenario
You have 2007 Microsoft Office installed on a computer.
On the same computer, you also have a Microsoft Office 2013 application installed, such as Microsoft Lync 2013 or Microsoft Word 2013.
    SOLUTION
To work around this issue, remove the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Support program component from the Office 2013
installation on the affected computer or computers. To do this, follow the “Install or remove individual Office program components” section of the following Microsoft Office website:
    Install or remove individual Office
    programs and components
    (http://office.microsoft.com/redir/HA010354261.aspx)
After you complete these steps, repair 2007 Office. For more information about how to repair the installation, click
the following article number to go to the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
    924611
    (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924611/ )
How to install the individual 2007 Office features or to repair the installed 2007 Office programs
    Note When
you follow these steps, set the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Support
component within Office Tools to Not Available.
This solution doesn't apply to scenarios in which SharePoint Designer 2013 is installed on the affected computer.
You can find further details here at Microsoft support site -
