File Browser/Library window wont appear

My file browser/ library window won't appear, it's gone? I tried checking and unchecking them under the window pull down menu.No Luck. I have all the latest updates
Anyone have any ideas?

JDeveloper Log Window wont appear

We are working with JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 and recently we have detected that the Log Window is missing, we cant get it pressing the View Menu and the Log option.
The window wont just appear and it really looks a bug because when we press the Log option the whole application looses focus. Do you know a workaround to get this to work.

Search for a file named windowinglayout.xml and see if the Logwindow coordinates are out of range ( less than 0 ) .

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Can't Locate Files in Library although names appear in "Open Library Screen

I have scoured this forum but can't find a solution to this problem. I engaged in the forbidden act of moving files within the iPhoto library and now when I launch iPhoto several photos are missing. What is more troubling, however, is that I cannot locate the files in my iPhoto library.
The strange part is that whn I launch iPhoto and hold down the option key to select a library, I can see all of the files in the library on this screen. When I go back to the actual library, folders that appear in the "open library" screen are not physically present in my library??
I reallly would appreciate any suggestions, advice. Most of these pictures are of my 2 year old daughter. It would be beyond devastating to lose these.

Can you give me a little more info? Did you move photos around in the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder? How many did you move? Did you change their name?
Can you put them back to where they originally were?

Cannot get File Browser, Inspector or Library to show up in Motion 3

Hi I open motion and can see the main window but when I try to access my File Browser, Library or Inspector it will not show up or do anything If I click on the Project or Timing Icons that works but nothing else?? Add Behavior, Add Filter, Make Particles and Replicate is all greyed out too!
Where do I find the preference file to trash it??

Thanks to you Patrick, it works for me now. What i did i went to my start up drive (Macintosh HD)>Users>Users name>Library>Preferences>com.apple.motion.plist then trash the file. I hope this helps to other users...

LR2.3 - library window is jumpy?

Since upgrading to LR2.3, I've had a bit of an annoying problem with the library window.
I'll have the Grid up in my second monitor and I'll select a photo off the grid. It appears in my primary monitor (in the Library module) and then the picture 'jumps'. By 'jumps', I mean it moves slightly down and to the right several times. It only moves a few pixels but it's enough to be noticeable and annoying when I'm looking at pictures.
It doesn't stop just when I select, either. If I move the picture around or zoom in and out, it seems to do it again on occassion.
It doesn't do it as much in the Develop module.
Any ideas? I'm running the WinXP version of Lightroom 2.3.

Just happened to me.
A few seconds ago, I was trying to run Flow Motion (or whatever it's called) on a group to change the timing. Motion crashed. Relaunched the app but now none of my managed layouts will open up the File Browser, Library, or Inspector windows.
Off to trash those freakin' fragile prefs.
Standby.
Motion is still running.
Interesting challenge. Where the heck is this file? Found a "com.apple.motion.plist" in my user account library under preferences.
Trash file.
Motion immediately created another one before I could quit the application.
Relaunch Motion (I do not restart the Mac).
All windows reappear. Cool.
Motion immediately crashes. Not good.
Send report to Apple (resist temptation to include lots of epithets)
Trash motion.plist file again.
Decide to go ahead and restart the Macintosh. Nothing odd about the restart.
Relaunch Motion.
Windows are back, imported new images, saved project. Hasn't crashed yet.
Reset all of my prefs, trash all of my old layouts and create two new ones.
Opened and closed the project, started and restarted the app. Opened a few old projects.
Seems to work.

Motion Windows Not Appearing

So I was recently working on a 2d project, nothing too system heavy. Until all of a sudden my system started bogging down. So I saved and quit Motion. When I re-opened the project, half of the windows were gone like File Browser, Library, Inspector. I tried opening them manually from the window menu and nothing worked.
Moreover, when I try to open a new project nothing happens.
Anyone have an idea to what the problem is?

Inspector and Library Windows Disappearing?

Hey everyone- hopefully someone can help me.
I have started working on a project that I am using lower thirds that I created in Motion. I haven't opened Motion in about a month or two but now a dead line is approaching and i need to get them done. I opened motion and I noticed that my library, inspector and file browser windows are not there. I clicked on the icon in the top right of my screen that should bring them up but nothing happens. I have searched every short cut to find how to bring them up but nothing. The time line button works fine- however why aren't the other windows coming up when i call for them? Is it possible that I have locked my window layout and if so is there a way to unlock it? Or is it an internal problem where i am going to have to reload Motion?

Photoshop Elements5 - is there a File Browser?

Photoshop Elements3 has a wonderful slide sorter with nice features for batch re-naming files - the File Browser.
I can not find a similar set of features in Elements5. I can sort pictures in a collection, but I can't see the file name and I can't re-name files.
What am I missing, is there a way to get set up in "File Browser" like window?

The File Browser (as it existed in PSE 3) does not exist in PS Elements 4 or 5.
Seeing the file name when viewing the thumbnails in the Organizer is simple -
In the Organizer, Edit > Preferences > General and check Show File Name in Details
What criteria do you want to use to rename the files? How will you use these renamed files?
Either Process Multiple Files in the Editor - or - File > Export in the Organizer can rename files. The Organizer Export creates a copy of the chosen photo files. Which one is better may depend on more details about what your objectives are.

Disable autoplay in file browser

I there a way to turn this off.
I have about 55 clips that all need the same thing done to them. I'm dragging clips from the file browser to the appropriate spots on the layer tab, but everytime I go to grab a clip, the **** thumbnail at the top of the file browser starts playing the clip and giving my system a hiccup. Very annoying and it's really slowing down my work flow.
I'm having to drop each clip onto 3 different layers, which takes system resources and I don't have the best GPU on this particular machine. Turning this off means one less drag and click I have to perform to pause the thumbnail and less load time into the layer tab.
Any suggestions?

Open the preferences (Cmd+,) look in the General tab for the 'File Browser & Library' section, and uncheck the 'Play items automatically on a single click' checkbox.

This issue can be caused by a problem with the file c:\windows\system32\dwmapi.dll
The file dwmapi.dll is a Vista file and should not be present in Windows XP.

File Browser, properties, library window will not show up

I'm using an old version of Motion 3 and my File Browser, properties, library window will not show up even when I click on the icons and/or press command+2,3, or 4 . Seems to be some kind of settings glitch as Motion works fine when logged in under another user. Any thoughts.

No, it can be trashed.
Plist files contain instructions for recording and executing tasks associated with the the application or function that owns them. They can and do become corrupted. If you look in the username/Library/Preferences Folder you can usually guess what application or function the .plist serves by analyzing the file name. In this case it was the com.apple.iCal.plist file.
Proper identification of the appropriate .plist file is not always so obvious. When an application malfunctions, removing the associated .plist file from the preferences folder to the Desktop is often the easiest first troubleshooting step. Then log out/in or restart and re-evaluate the performance of the application.
A new default .plist file is automatically created in your Preferences Folder after you remove the recalcitrant .plist and initiate the log out/in restart sequence. You can expect default application behavior and you will have to reset some preferences. If the application or function returns to normal after removing the .plist file, it will prove that the original file was corrupt, and you can now safely trash the .plist file which you placed on the Desktop.
If the application or function is unsatisfactory with the new plist file, the original plist file which was placed on the Desktop can be safely returned to the preferences folder. Just allow the system to replace the newer plist.
If you are having problems with any aspect of OS X, experiment with deleting the appropriate .plist file. Plist corruption is not uncommon and .plist file deletion often cures many problems. Too many users try intricate solutions first and end up complicating their minor problem.

A window keeps appearing on my PC advising as follows "The iTunes library file cannot be saved.you do not have enough access privilages for this operation." resulting in recently purchased items not being saved to PC.

A window keeps appearing stating " The iTunes Library cannot be saved. You do not have enough privilages for this operation". New purchases and CD down loads are able to be saved to my iPod but not to my PC?

Motion problem with File Browser Window

For some reason I lost the File Browser Inspector and Library window and can't get it back
I have tried under the window tab and It will not let me check them to show it again. What can I do?
They appear in my toolbox at the top but also will not let me click on them.

An mp3 file on my computer will not import to itunes by either the drag-and-drop or the Add File to Library method. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My OS is Windows 7.

I purchased an mp3 from a private website on my laptop. The itunes library i sync ipod to is on my desktop, so i copied the mp3 onto a flash drive and then into my desktop in the Downloads folder and Desktop folder as well as the itunes music folder, 3 places. I opened itunes on the desktop and read the instructions for importing music that's already in my computer. Neither the drag-and-drop or the Add File to Library method works. I've tried both ways over and over. Cannot figure out what the problem is. I do note that the name of the mp3 file doesn't show the .mp3 extension, it appears as simply it's title, Eating Healthy, without any extension at all. Could the filename be the problem, or do you have any other idea what I'm doing wrong? My OS is Windows 7, using IE9. Thanks.
ADDENDUM AFTER READING ANOTHER DISCUSSION HERE: I have now tried right clicking the song in Windows Explorer and choosing Open With, clicking itunes. The mp3 plays in itunes but does not add to the library.

I don't have a Recently Added playlist. However, I discovered that the file I had named Eating Healthy was given the name You Can Enjoy Eating Healthy when it copied to iTunes. I'm guessing iTunes pulled the full name of the piece from the internet. Upshot--the mp3 did transfer to iTunes on all 3 tries, but I was looking in my alphabetized list under E, not Y, so I didn't see it there. Thanks for your help.
