    Process management at the OS level should prevent execution continuing in the calling code until the command has completed (either successfully or with error).
    If the low level java code were to spawn child process threads then execution could continue, but I'm guessing the Java function your talking about doesn't do that and just calls the operating system to execute the command and waits for the returning code to come back.

  • How to download a file version from office 365 using csom

    I need to download an older file version from office 365 and get the data into a byte array. I have no trouble downloading the latest version with File.OpenBinaryStream() and I have no trouble loading the previous file versions with File.Versions. But now
    I need to actually download an older version of the file and it seems the only way is to use File.OpenBinaryDirect. So I am creating a client context using my oAuth access token and providing the correct path, but I am getting a (401) Unauthorized
    error. Looking with Fiddler I can see that the call to OpenBinaryDirect is somehow trying to post to my file URL and the server is responding with 401.
    context = TokenHelper.GetClientContextWithAccessToken(SPHostUrl, AccessToken);
    FileInformation info = File.OpenBinaryDirect(context, "/" + _fileVersion.Url);  //throws 401
    //leading slash required otherwise ArgumentOutOfRangeException
    I have to be able to access the older file versions with my c# code -- I don't have a viable app without that ability -- any help urgently needed and greatly appreciated!

    Thank you SO much (Can't wait for the next release)!
    For anyone else who lands here, here's the code I ended up using:
    // VersionAccessUser and VersionAccessPassword are stored in web.config
    // web.Url is loaded via the clientContext
    // myVersion is the FileVersion I got from the file's Versions.GetById() method
    // probably a lot of ways to get hostUrl, it just needs to be https://yourdomain.sharepoint.com/

  • Using MapViewer from PL/SQL vs Java

    Hi group!
    The MapViewer User's Guide has this to say about using MapViewer from PL/SQL:
    "The usage model for the SDO_MVCLIENT package is almost identical to that of
    MapViewer JavaBean-based API" etc etc .. "For usage and reference information about specific functions or procedures, see the description of the associated JavaBean-Based API. methods and interfaces in Chapter 4"
    If I don't misunderstand the basic concept, in a Java Web App (using the MapViewer Bean) you create a MapViewer object for each HTTP-user-session, like so:
    MapViewer mv = new MapViewer("http://my_corp.com:8888/mapviewer/omserver");
    ... which you would then store in the user's session object, so that the MapViewer Bean conveniently holds the map's state on the user's behalf.
    To do the equivalent in PL/SQL, the User's Guide suggests:
    "connect scott/tiger
    call sdo_mvclient.createmapviewerclient(
    'http://www.mycorp.com:8888/mapviewer/omserver') ;
    The preceding example creates, in the current session, a unique MapViewer client
    handle to the MapViewer service URL"
    Does "current session" refer to the HTTP-user-session? While I've used PL/SQL before, I've not used the PL/SQL Web Toolkit. Is the session handling implicit here (and invisible?) or should the sdo_mvclient be subsequently stored in the PL/SQL equivalent of a (J2EE) HttpSession object?
    YT

    Part of the answer will depend on how you plan to deploy the application. If you have a few, local clients you could go with the traditional client/server model. If you have a lot of clients and/or they are spread out over a relatively large area (like a campus setting), a web front-end will save you a lot of hassels down the road when it comes time to upgrade.
    Regardless of the the front end, I can tell you that I have been greatly impressed with the throughput you can get by moving most of the code to PL/SQL packages. A few years ago we reworked a VB/Oracle app by moving a lot of the code out of VB and into packages, leaving the client to essentially call procedures and format the output. We had more than a 3x performance increase on the same hardware and our network utilization decreased noticably.
    I am now in the process of replacing the client code with Java servlets/JSP, primarily because of the maintenance hassles I mentioned earlier. There are some limitations with an HTML page but most of these have been cosmetic so far.
    We are still relying heavily on PL/SQL packages. The servlet code basically gets a request, calls a package to get the data, then hands the results to a JSP page. The JSP then formats the output and sends it to the client. We are little more than halfway through the re-write, but it appears performance will increase again. Not as noticably as before, but I will take what I can get. As you have seen, once something is rolled out it always ends up getting used more than you anticipated. Better to over-engineer now than have to patch it once it is live.

  • From PL/SQL call java class present in Application server

    I need to call a java class file which is present on the application server. the call has to be made from pl/sql.

    New idea. DDL isn`t working but if i would make some DQL ? Like select??
    I`m trying to deploy java class like this:
    public class test {
         public static String say()
              throws SQLException{
                   Connection conn = new OracleDriver().defaultConnection();
                   String sql = "Select names from pdb_proteins where numbers=61";
                   try {
                        // Load the Oracle JDBC driver
                        Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver") ;
                        System.out.println("Oracle JDBC driver loaded ok.");
                        } catch (Exception e) {
                        System.err.println("Exception: "+e.getMessage());
                   try {
                        ResultSet rset = null;
                        PreparedStatement pstmt = conn.prepareStatement(sql);
                        rset=pstmt.executeQuery(sql);
                        String wynik = null;
                        wynik = rset.getString(1);
                        return wynik;
              } catch (SQLException e) {
                   System.out.println("Connection Failed! Check output console");
                   e.printStackTrace();
                   return "nope";
    Then invoke with PL/SQL function
    and i`m getting error ORA-29534: object SYSTEM.oracle/jdbc/OracleDriver
    Could someone help me with this? How i could register jdbc driver inside Oracle db??

    how will i create physical directory in oracle pl/sql using java

    This is, I suspect, related to Re: how will i overcome from this error java.io.IOException. Quite why you felt the need to have two partial threads instead of one thread with a complete set of information is beyond me. Perhaps this muddled thinking is indicative....
    Anyway, if I was looking to do this particular task in Java I would look to using the specific command File.mkdir() rather than trying to use a generic exec approach.

    I have a java method that accepts an argument of type byte[].
    I want to define a call specification so that it can invoked from a sql statement.
    The Java Developer's Guide show how to map SQL data types to java types and classes, but it is unclear if I can map a SQL data type to an array.
    Does anyone know which SQL type to use to map to a byte array?
    I'm using Oracle 10.2, thus jvm 1.4.2.

    As soon as I posted this question, I saw the RAW to byte[] mapping listed in the documentation. How did I overlook it? Anyway, that what I needed.

  • Is it possible to lock the keyboard of a client from a server using java

    please explain wheterit is possible to lock the keyboard of a client from a server using java

    You want to process code on one machine, and thereby lock the keyboard on another machine? No, that's not possible. It is extremely far from possible.
    Of course, if the client is running software with security holes in it you might hack into it and crash the thing. This will lock up the keyboard pretty good. I hope that's not what you want ...
    Or are you talking about a setup where you already have code running on the client, and some sort of communication between client and server? In that case what you need to know is whether it is possible to lock the keyboard at all. Once you have figured that out, it is trivial to add the communication code to have the server software tell the client software to lock the keyboard.
    So what do you mean with "lock the keyboard"? It's pretty easy to remove/disable all keyboard related listeners in your own application. It's a lot harder (and AFAIK impossible with pure java) to disable alt-tabbing out of the application. And impossible, except from exploiting security holes, to lock the ctrl-alt-delete-combination on windows machine.

  • Files "Deleted from Disk" not deleted

    I was under the impression that this problem related to the appearance of "Ghost" drives (duplicate drives appearing in the LR after I edited a file. The folder duplications are no longer a problem in LR 2.1
    HOWEVER, when I use the option "delete from disk" (vs. remove)these files are not getting deleted from my hard drive. They reappear on the next folder synchronization I run.
    I am either asking for input on how to make deletions stick and/or requesting that Adobe look into this before releasing the release version of 2.1
    Thanks - Kevin
    System info:
    LR 2.1
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Quad Core PC with 4GB RAM
    1 TB "RAID 5" system drives (4 of them make up the 1 TB)

    Thanks for the suggestions but they didn't work:
    1- Cleared preferences by hitting the various reset to factory buttons. Then closed and restarted LR. Is there another way to do this?
    2- The foloder quantity goes down when I delete and goes back up when I synchronize
    3- File manager shows the same number of files as LR BEFORE I delete and then shows more AFTER I delete. Then, after synchronizing they are back to equal.
    Finally, I tried deleting a file in windows explorer to see its effect. It immediately showed as missing in LR. I synchronized and that file was deleted.
    Any other ideas?

  • Calling WS from PL/SQL using WS-security

    Hi All,
    Has anyone experience with calling a Webservice from PL/SQL and use WS-security to encrypt the contents? If not; maybe with java stored procedures in 9i? (in other words: using WS-security without JDeveloper).
    with regards,
    Michiel Kuperus

    Right now what you can do is use SSL via the Java stack calling Web services ... the "call out" examples at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/database.html
    show how under a PL/SQL wrapper the same java web services runtime from the middle tier running in the DB can invoke Web services. That stack supports SSL. It does not currently support WS-Security which is an emerging spec from the OASIS standards body.
    Oracle, however, is currently working on building WS-Security into its Web services stack. This is however,a post-9.0.4 (the upcoming release of Oracle9iAS) project. Bear in mind that WS-Security is still an evolving standard and while there are some early implementations they will evolve over time as the spec itself solidifies.
    Mike.

  • How to execute a Window program from Unix box using Java

    I am trying to execut a program running on a Window box from Shell Script on a Unix box. Does anybody knows how to do that using Java. Thanks. Any feedback appreciated.
    kevin

    You need to use
    String fileNane = "setup.exe";
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(fileName);that is if you are writing code
    if you are just calling if from a terminal just write
    java then the file name ( well I think that is right :)
    I do know that the code above work as I have it working on a windoze box
