File download from the server

I have this page(in a distributive application) that checks the status of files on the server. These are hyperlinked and I am trying to allow the users to download the files. I can see the files, and the links but can't download a file or "save target as.." option.
I have added an .xml file in the configuration directory of my application server(JBoss). I can download the files on the same computer, but if I can't do that from other computer. I got this .xml file from online search, someone suggested to use this in order to allow for download option.
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<Context debug="99" docBase="/home/jboss-4.0.5.GA/bin/Fastran" path="/Fastran" reloadable="true">
</Context>Can I get some help in this regard ? The files are created in the application server folder, should I change the destination for resultant files outside of the server folder ?
Thanks.

  • Mail 'not downloaded from the server'

Recently, I have been getting the message
"The message from Xxxxxxx (this is my account name) concerning “Xxxxxxxx (subject of the message)” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
This happens whenever I try to open old mesages, sent or received. But usually only happens after the program has been working fine for a few hours!
If I quit Mail and restart it, all is OK for a while. But it usually happens again.
Can anyone offer a solution, please?
    Very many thanks!

    Mike,
In addition, the followup if you are using Mail 1.3, and the statement that this message is almost certain to be caused by an Overstuffed Mailbox, typically caused by size and large numbers of messages of diverse types is to see:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=121837
and the important link it contains of:

There are a few conditions caused by files that might not be needed, if any were leftover from Jaguar's mailbox structure, but somewhat rare. After you read these, let me know what you find, and any questions you may have.

  • A Twist on (this e-mail) has not been downloaded from the server.

So I've read the discussions on the following message in MAIL
The message from [email protected] concerning “Re: blah has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
But here's my issue - the ONLY e-mails in my POP account that have this message are between myself and one other person. All other e-mails from the same time period, and in fact everything in my POP account is normal except for messages I sent to and received from this person. I don't want to get into the specifics, but I have several good reasons PRIOR to discovering this to believe that my communication with this person was being monitored. If I didn't have these doubts from before as well as the fact that ONLY this correspondence is tainted, I wouldn't be so curious.
Is it possible that this "download from server" message indicates that some other party was reading these messages? I was not in the US during this exchange - but rather in a country which does poke around quite a bit. I don't mean to sound dramatic or paranoid - but it is awfully strange and suspect.
    thanks.
(i don't think this is a problem with Tiger or OS X or whatever - as it only applies to this correspondence)

    What does "being monitored" mean?
In Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), that error message means there is some mismatch between what Envelope Index says there is in a mailbox and what there really is.
The only way I can currently think of those messages being monitored could have a bearing on this is that someone had access to the *.emlx files stored locally on your disk.

  • Sent Mail says "_____ has not been downloaded from the server."

One of my users tells me that her sent mail witch she refers to often says, "The message from user name <email address> concerning “Kalimba Co.” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it." (The account is online, sending and recieving is not a problem)
I have read some other related issues and found that mail usually only holds 1GB in the sent folder and she had 6k emails (1.74GB) in this folder which I deleted and the problem is still not solved. I saw where a third party script was used in the related issue but that is not the route I want to go. Yor're help is greatly appreciated.

This might be a Tiger issue. You probably have upgraded tot 10.4 recently or installed firmware.
Before doing anything else... (like removing account, or shuffling messagefiles and the like) you might want to try this..
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303803
This article describes how to reindex Mail by removing Envelopindex file from your home/library/mail/ folder.
    It worked great for me.
Eventhough gmail is pop account, removing indexfile "Envelopeindex" (moved to desktop) was good enough. A dialoguebox will tell you that new Tiger functions need this reindexing.
I hope this works for you as well.
    Regards

  • "mail has not been downloaded from the server" messages......

About 2 weeks ago I started seeing "mail has not been downloaded from the server" messages popping up when I attempt to both new mail and e-mails that I have already read. I usually don't have any problems when I first launch the program, but after a few minutes running I get this message when I try to open any e-mail.
The message from "---" <[email protected]> concerning “RE: S8-04 pps sample package” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
I know that the program is running online because it continues to show me new e-mails that come in.
    What should I do?

Your OS detail provided indicates you are running 10.4.7 and Sasso's OS detail provided is 10.3.9.
The MBOX Breaker script does not work with Tiger mailboxes which are different from the mailbox structure used with previous Mail.app versions and the link you provided includes instructions for Jaguar or Panther Mail, not Tiger Mail. And depending on the size of the mailbox with Jaguar or Panther Mail, the MBOX Breaker Script may not be required.
If you are getting this message with Tiger Mail, this indicates you upgraded to Tiger from Jaguar or Panther on this Mac.
If so and if this Sent mailbox is for a POP type account, using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Sent Messages.mbox.
List all file and folder names available within the Sent Messages.mbox folder.

  • After "restore," how do I get the messages "downloaded from the server?"

I restored my entire mail folder, after I accidentally deleted it. It has restored the message headings, but every message (when I click on the heading) gives me a message that says "The message from "name of person" has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it." I have no idea what this means, as I am connected to the internet all the time. Can someone help? This is an important file for me.
    Sylvia

My Mail program is a .Mac account, so it is an IMAP, I believe.
O.k, this is what happened: In Mail 2.1.3, I tried to rename a file, and it didn't like that and did some funny things, so I deleted what I thought was a duplicate file by the same name. Then everything was gone. I restored it using Backup 3.1.2, but it wouldn't finish restoring to the original places, as it said that the "archive was busy...etc." I then went online to this site: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1158 and followed the directions for an incremental "restore."The backup was now in a folder on my desktop. The article did not tell me what to do with these restored items after I had them on the desktop so I tried to drag and drop one of the smaller folders into Mail on the Hard Drive, but that didn't work to put them in the mail program on my desktop. I then followed a similar story line (from you, actually) on April 3 in which you gave directions to "Nanbirder." I followed those directions, and then the message headings were imported by Mail, but not the messages, and here we are with this mess.
I hope you can help me with this; it's a nightmare!!

  • "This message has not been downloaded from the server" - Multiple devices all using Exchange Active Sync

We are having this issue across multiple IOS devices ranging from IOS version 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2. Many (not all) emails sent to the devices are unreadable and simply state: "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Microsoft believes this to be some sort of bug with the IOS devices in the way they are handling the SSL encryption.
    Facts:
    - Devices are connected to an Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 6 via Active Sync (No POP3, IMAP or SMTP)
    - issue occurs on multiple IOS devices within the organization ranging from IOS 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2
    - Issue occurs on both external cellular data and internal wireless networks
    - Not all emails sent to the devices result in the error, but issue does tend to occur more frequently from certain senders/domains
    - Using the same user account on an android phone does not result in an issue (even when receiving the exactly same email that has been sent to the IOS devices)
    - Closing mail app / rebooting device does not resolve the issue
    - Doesn't appear to matter what the mesage format is (can be html, plaintext, etc)
    - Spent nearly 7 hours with Microsoft going through the Exchange server configuration and looking for possible causes. None have been found and all testing indicates things are setup correctly.
    - This is not a case of Issue 2.3 listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324 (verified by Microsoft Support)
    - If we disable SSL on the IOS device and connect via plain HTTP the messages are displayed correctly!
    - If we use a different SSL certificate, the issue still occurs - so not a problem with the original cert.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what would cause this? Does the ISO devices have any sort of log that would indicate why it's reporting this error? The current error is pretty unhelpful.

GFI Have a solution for this problem. It is to do with iOS implementation of reading the message headers when SPF compliance modifications are made by GFI.

  • I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now my e-mails say, "This message has not been downloaded from the server".  We have an Exchange server at work.  ??

I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now I cannot retreive or send my e-mails.  We have an Exchange server at work.  I still receive the e-mails on all my devices just fine and I can see the subject headings & a small portion of the body of the e-mail, but when I open the e-mails there is no body and it reads, "This message has not been downloaded from the server".  Very aggrevating and is not helping my business at ALL!!  Same has happened with both iPads we own now.

Delete then add back the exchange acct on each device.

  • "This message has not been downloaded from the server"

Hello, Ever since ive had an iPhone and have used Edge to open a resaonably sized email i usually get "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Im sure this has to do with the slow Edge network timing out. How do you correct this if there is no "Download Now" button. The only solution I have found was to force quit the Mail App (Hold Home button for 6 seconds) and go back in and pray that it downloads without timing out.

There was a thread on this yesterday that stated that if there is more message it may take four to five minutes to download the entire message and/or attachments.
One poster even said that it has taken him over 30 minutes in some cases.
I have this same problem on some email and on others the entire email is downloaded, including any attachments. Since there is no communication put out by Apple regarding this anomaly, it is hard to say whether this a an Apple or provider, i.e., Google or Yahoo.

  • When I ran the bootcamp assistance for software update I get an error that it can't download from the server

Install Mac OS X lion fine without any issue
I'm trying to dual boot Lion and Wind 7 on different HD but when I ran the bootcamp assistance for software update I get an error that it can't download from the server.
I also try without downloading the software and do the installation but it fail. It seem that this bootcamp is giving problem so I revert back to SN leopard and it does the same. Why can't the bootcamp assistance update the software, is it something that I did wrong or my system is not supporting dual booting.
    Here is my spec
Apple Mac Pro "Quad Core" 2.66
    Identifiers: Mac Pro - MA356LL/A - MacPro1,1* - A1186

MacPro1,1 has EFI32 and does not support Windows 7 very well, can't boot 64-bit, can't use all your RAM.
There have always been trouble and issues, ways around those, but a big PITA too.
    Select CD-ROM Boot
    Select CD-ROM Boot Error Apple
Nothing to do with Lion actually. Other than downloading drivers from Apple servers has been mostly hit or miss, with miss being 90%.
I have rebuned the DVD (make a new ISO image using Imgburn etc) but now I just install Windows on PC then move the drive to the Mac. A lot easier.
Without 64-bit you can't use more than 1.9GB RAM. And you need Windows 7 Pro to use both processors.

  • Error message: The message from - has not been downloaded from the server.

"The message from Doug Peets <[email protected]> concerning “Fires” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
I get this error message several times per day, even on my Sent mail box, and Drafts, which clearly does not need to be downloaded (does it?). It usually happens when I switch mailboxes, from In to Sent, to Drafts and so on.
I have 100 Gigs of hard drive with 90 Gigs free. I have about 6,700 saved incoming e-mails and 4,700 sent e-mails.
TRhis has only started happening in the last couple months. How do i get rid of it? Is it because i have too many saved e-mails?
When I shut down Mail and re-open it, the messages display properly, but this is a nuisance several times per day.
    Thanks,
    Doug.

Thanks. I moved half of the messages to a new mailbox "old e-mails", then copied that to a new folder on my desk top, which saved it with a .mbox suffix, then emptied the Old e-mails mailbox in Mail. I will repeat this every three months.
    So far, so good.
    thanks for your help.
    Doug Peets

  • A possible fix to messages not being downloaded from the server?

there is a previous post about this that has been archived with no solution. i googled this problem and found only a bunch of people saying "yeah, i have this problem too". so i'm posting this to see if my theory helps anyone.
the error on my new 3g iphone read "the message has now been downloaded from the server" after i set my exchange account to push emails to my phone. so i checked my calendar to see if that synced up. i noticed that my date was all wrong. so i went in to general settings and fixed the date. once i did that i was able to read all my emails from my phone.
to test that i set the date to be a year from now and i got the same error. i changed the date back to the correct day, restarted my phone and i could download all my messages once again.
my theory is that typically servers do not like a dissonance like that between it and the device it syncs to. could anyone out there with the same issue confirm or deny this possible fix?

Why can't I read my emails from my iPad mailbox on my iPad today? Each message is replaced by the comment "This message has not been downloaded from the server."thank you

In which case, clearly communicating the intent would have been a better solution.  The steps do apply.  A more appropriate response would have been "tried that, no change".
Regardless of whether they fixed the problem or not, they do apply.
If English is not your native language, I would strongly encourage you to post in your native language going forward.
If basic troubleshooting has not resolved the issue, the next step is to take the device to Apple for evaluation.

  • Searched email showing "The message has not been downloading from the server."

I have Exchange email setup on my iPad. When I search for an email that has a large attachment (15mb PDF) the results show two identical emails. If I click on the first one it says "This message has not been downloaded from the server." The second email seems to open correctly. Closing the Mail app and opening back up doesn't fix the issue. Neither does rebooting iPad. Anyone have any idea why the search is showing multiple emails and why they won't download correctly?
    --Brian

I am the IT department. Seems to be an issue with the search showing the email locally and server side, so it shows up twice. If I open the email that is server side, it has an issue opening the email again unless I try several times. I'm working with Apple now so hopefully they can help.
