File merging

How may I merge several PDF files into one continuous file? (e.g. several image files into one continuous file).

Or use the CreatePDF online service.

  • Could I have some help with making these two files merge?

    Copyright - Trademarking - Prohibiting further use of these files (Unless you are helping me) - Etc..
    Hello, I'm back with another problem and if you read the last post you would have realized that I shortened the code. My goal is to replace my spacer and header with a single header that I based my design around. I just can not get this too work with the rest of the document I have had too many attempts. I will post my header files in 'RED' to begin with and the files I need to combine in 'BLUE'
    Preview of Header:
    Link to the Header HTML Coding:

    Link to CSS Coding of the Header:

    Example of one of the Html pages that I need to merge:
    /* This Html file is part of the ExpertComputerGuides.com Website Copyright - Trademarked etc.*/

    Thanks for the help in advance.

    You're not getting any help because your HTML & CSS code is pretty messy.  It's like asking an interior designer to make over a very untidy bedroom.  It's not going to happen until you clean things up.
    I would start with just the basic HTML code like this.  Avoid those redundant style10, style19, style108 tags.    You really don't need them.  HTML selectors provide you with all the hooks you need for most things.  Also, you should run a spell check.  I saw errors but I didn't fix them.

  • Is there a way to create a file merge that updates from the original source file if changes are made?

    I have thousands of PDF documents that are merged with other files. I'll give an example so it's easier to understand.
    File #1 may be merged (or in a portfolio) with Files #2 and #3 but also in another merge (or portfolio) with Files #3 and #4.
    If I update File #1, is there a way for it to automatically update both of the merge or portfolio files with the updated File #1? (File#1 would be replaced, same name and location).
    I'm using windows and Adobe Acrobat Pro

    You would need to add favorites to the WebHelp output prior to creating a CHM. You would need something along the lines of: http://www.wvanweelden.eu/product/favorites-widget-webhelp
    But since it's in a CHM, I'm not sure whether you will be able to save anything from the webhelp output between sessions.
    Kind regards,

    Hi guys,
    is there any way of merging different Pdf files together in Apex 4.0? It seems the BI Publisher can generate PDF files but how about merging them together to form 1 single file? Is it possible with any particular plugin?

    If you have a version of the database that has java loaded, then You can run the java commands with a pl/sql wrapper....
    Get your mind out of the gutter! Grab mine while you're there, please.

    I need to take binary files on a file system and a perform a MERGE in a destination table that has a blob column. This is a periodic task.
    My Version
    The following is a proof of concept that I've put together. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to critique this implementation or provide a better implementation to accomplish the same task.
    In reality the SOURCE table would be an external table that parses a control file that has a list of IDs and file names.
    DROP VIEW source_vw;
    DROP TABLE destination;
    DROP TABLE source;
    DROP FUNCTION get_blob;
    DROP PROCEDURE update_blobs;
    CREATE TABLE source
    ( id    NUMBER
    , fname VARCHAR2(255)
    INSERT INTO source
    ( id
    , fname
    SELECT rownum
         , 'Untitled.png'
    FROM   dual
    CONNECT BY level <= 5;
    CREATE TABLE destination
    ( id        NUMBER
    , file_data BLOB
    INSERT INTO destination(id, file_data) VALUES (1, EMPTY_BLOB());
    INSERT INTO destination(id, file_data) VALUES (3, EMPTY_BLOB());
    INSERT INTO destination(id, file_data) VALUES (5, EMPTY_BLOB());
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION get_blob

         , cache   => FALSE
         bf := BFILENAME(p_dirname,p_fname);
         DBMS_LOB.FILEOPEN(bf,DBMS_LOB.FILE_READONLY);
         DBMS_LOB.LOADBLOBFROMFILE(b,bf,DBMS_LOB.LOBMAXSIZE,bfile_offset,blob_offset);
         DBMS_LOB.FILECLOSE(bf);
         RETURN b;
    END get_blob;
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW source_vw

    SELECT id
         , GET_BLOB('SOME_DIR',fname) AS file_data
    FROM   source
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE update_blobs
    AS
    BEGIN
         MERGE INTO destination
         USING source_vw
         ON    ( destination.id = source_vw.id )

             UPDATE SET destination.file_data = source_vw.file_data

    Because you are on 11.2, I would suggest switching to securefiles.

  • PDF files merging on print command from windows desktop

    Hello,
    I have an application  from which I want to genarate PDF documents. The application is installed on my personal desktop. To test the process, I downloaded the Adobe PDF converter driver (free download version) and installed the same on my PC. I used control panel to change my deafult printer settings on my PC as this new PDF converter driver.
    Now I logged to my application , where I can select the list of documents to be printed. The application always uses default printer of the PC on which its installed. Hence all the documnets got created as individual PDF files on my desktop. This was great.
    However my ultimate requirement is when I select a list of documents using my application and give it for print at one shot, all the documents should come as a single PDf file rather individual files. Or else you can define my requirement as any no of dcouments given for print at one go (or one session) must be generated as 1 single PDF file. Is it possible to adjust the PDF converter driver in some way to accomplish this
    I made further investigation into this and found Adobe Acrobat pro 9 is a good software to generate PDF. Will purchasing this and installing this s/w solve my current problem. Please advise.

    Hi Leonard,
    Thank you very much for your prompt reply. The answer has not solved the problem yet. My users don't want to manually merge the files. They want it to happen automatically.
    The application which prints documents is a simple MS access database. This is available on users personal desktop. As soon as the user opens the MS access, it is programmed in such a way that, the access database runs as a program. It uses DSN to connect to the sybase database and get the details of documents that are pending for print.
    At this point MS accesses database starts an itretive process, fetches the data from sybase , calls the correct report template in MS Access , populates it and prints the report using the default printer on which the database resides. Thus it prints the document one by one. By setting the default printer to Adobe PDF converter, we were successful in creating PDF documents rather than printing to paper , but the disadvantage was each document got printed to one file each.
    The whole process is coded as VBA module of MS access. my question is by using an API from Adobe SDK, will I be able to make changes in the VBA code of MS access database so that all files requestd for print comes out as a single PDF file.

  • Text created by Typewriter in a PDF file merging into the original file

    When I use typewriter tool to add text onto a PDF file, is there any way to make the text boxes NOT selectable. Basically I want to know if there's a way to merge the text boxes to the original PDF file.

    Flatten the PDF (Acrobat supports form field flattening and annotation (comment / markup) flattening.
    Discussed in the application Help.
    Be well...

  • My files merge when I save, is there a way to revert?

    I've found several previous topics on this from all the way back to 2012, and there does not seem to be answer on here.
    When a file gets saved as a PDF, it will automatically (for some foolish reason) merge all the layers of the original PSD file, unless you choose to save as a copy.
    Is there a way to get the original PSD file to un-merge?  (this would be the following day, after the system has been shut down and restarted)
    Why in the world would there be such a thing even written into the software?  I, for one, have to send off proofs of my work and if there are changes, will have to make changes days and even weeks later.
    This is a problem in the interface that needs to be corrected in that if I want to merge layers, I can do so by clicking a simple button, but when the glitch occurs (and yes, to me, it's a glitch), the file is merged without my interaction and cannot be un-merged.
    Are there any solutions to this?

    This is a problem in the interface that needs to be corrected
    No, it is a problem of Photoshop users doing their job badly.
    If you do not save the layered file you have no one to blame but yourself for that.
    When a file gets saved as a PDF, it will automatically (for some foolish reason) merge all the layers of the original PSD file, unless you choose to save as a copy.
    And that is as it should be as pdf is a format that does not support Photoshop Layers as such in itself (pdf Layers are something different).
    But there is the option "Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilites" in the General pdf settings (which of course would violate pdf/x standards).
    Once again it is your own choices that cause the perceived problem.

  • Two Files merging using File adapter in Bpel 2.0

    Hi All,
    I have two different files (File 1 and 2) of same format(Two columns each)  , now i want to merge these two files using their data and form a consolidated file (File 3 with four columns).
    Please advise on how to make it possible using file adapter.
    Example:
    File 1 Format: A1 and A2 - are two columns of number and sring type
    File 2 Format : B1 and B2 - are two columns of number and string type
    Consolidated File 3 Format : A1 B1 A2 B2 - forming a single row if A1=B1 and also populating A2 and B2.
    Thanks
    Karthick.

    Hi Karthick,
    I would say read both files completely. Then create a transform and select both messages as an input creating one output. With XSLT it should not be too hard to combine the two inputs. You could loop on one file and then select each row from the other file. That output can be written to file.
    I don't know what triggers the process, but you could either let bpel be triggered by the polling on one file and read the other synchronously. Or read both files synchronously.

    Martien

  • CS4 file merging problem

    Hi Everyone,
    I hope somebody can help me with this one.
    I have 2 sites each with it's own root folder, each was started as it's own site using it's own the selected root folder.
    The 2 sites share the same template, with the same spry assets, menu bar etc...
    2 problems,
    First, Somehow the files are "merging" in DW on me, so that when I make a change on one template it changes the template in the other root folder for the other separately designated site.
    Both sets of files were stored on my desktop, so I copied one set of files to my documents and in doing so it changed some things around, which leads to my second problem(s)
    One template lost the banner, footer, and side bar images that I had inserted (not a big deal to restore)
    The other template in the other root folder lost the code for the spry tabbed panel that I had inserted and I'm not sure how to get that back in.
    Can somebody please help me with this?
    Thanks
    Mike

    Mike
    As a guess, it could be that you are working in both sites at the same time, and DW has a hard time with that.  If you are going to work on site A, then in your Files Panel, it must be Site A listed in the drop down box.  Other wise you may be saving a file for Site A in Site B, and from there the calamity just exculates.
    But that is just a guess.

  • File Merging --- Need Help

    Greetings,
    I am pretty new at this program, and I am trying to understand how to do my homework assignment. So I do not need the full code, just some help on how to get started.
    I am trying to write a program that merges all files together whose names match a certain pattern, and writes the result to an output file. The input-file pattern will consist of a combination of "normal" filename characters and question marks (?). A question mark in the input-file pattern denotes a single-character "wild card". Thus, the pattern ab?c?.txt would denote all file names that consist of 9 characters such that:
    the first two characters are ab
    the fourth character is c
    the last four characters are .txt
    For example, this would include filenames such as abxc7.txt and abqcc.txt.
    So if there are files in a folder, for example, called abc.txt, adc.txt, cat.txt, and the contents of each has two similar lines of "This is File ZZZ" Where ZZZ represents the name of the file. Then running the program with the pattern a??.txt and the output file finished.txt will result in the file finished.txt having the contents
    This is file abc.txt.
    This is file abc.txt.
    This is file abd.txt.
    This is file abd.txt.
    I don't really know where to begin here. Could you help me out? Thanks

    Check out the API docs for java.io.File. It has methods to list all the files in a particular directory.
    For the name matching, you can create a class that implements FileFilter or FileNameFilter that you then pass to these methods.
    The filter's accept method would test the file name against your criteria.
    (You wouldn't have to use the filter. You could just iterate over the files and compare each one yourself.)
    To do the actual comparison, you could use the String.matches() method or you could just do the character by character comparison yourself.
    If you google for java io tutorial you should find something that will help you with the File class, and java regex tutorial for String.match()
    Break the problem into small pieces, and get each one working before moving onto the next.
    First write a method that takes in a pattern "a?bc?.txt" and a String (that represents a filename) and returns true or false depending on whether it mathes.
    Then write a method that takes the patten and an array or List of Strings or Files and uses the first method to return an array or List of Strings or Files that represents the subset of the original list that matched.
    Post again if you have specific questions about specific parts that you don't understand or cant' get to work.

  • Need Guidance on s/w Architecture for Server PDF Creation & File Merge App

    Please send me your recommendation on how to tackle this design requirement with the correct adobe software products.  Let me know the s/w architecture you recommend too.
    My client has a microsoft office 2010 application customized via VBA which is on a windows server.  Users remote desktop connect to the server and run the application - multiple users running the application at once on the same server.
    A new software enhancement is being requested to allow users to create PDF files.  The PDF will need a customized coversheet (and if possible, a table of contents) as well as include entire existing PDFs all merged into one document.  They would like to have a pop-up file selector interface then push a button to generate the PDF.
    I understand the Acrobat library cannot be used in the server environment.  What is the Adobe solution for this; is there a way to create a custom library (dll or such) perhaps using visual studio (c#?) that references the "Adobe PDF Library" (which I understand we'd have to license)  which in turn the Office application VBA environment can add as a reference to get to the functionality needed?
    Or - what do you receommend?
    Thanks!

    @Dan_Korn, I'll take a look at FusionPro. Thanks!
    For the Adobe solution, I think its possible to have acrobat on the server when it's hosting users in their own remote desktop. I see Adobe has a citrix-based licensing solution so this or something similar could work for us.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/Citrix_Policy_AX_AXI_11-12-2012.pdf
    We only have a couple users of our custom ERP application that need the PDF merge/edit "button" to do their job.  LiveCycle sounds wonderful but from what I've heard it costs in the tens of thousands. (I am not able to find a price list on the Adobe site.) For a couple of users LiveCycle is overkill.
    Buying an acrobat license for all the company employees that use our custom application in the server hosted environment is out of the question. (I see the acrobat costs $450 for one seat as of today.)
    You might say why not split our custom application into two - one version that uses acrobat (for the couple of users) and one that doesn't?  But, this will burden us with the  increased costs of maintaining two custom applications and require users  to switch between applications just to push one button.
    It's never easy!

  • File Merging Application?

    What would you recommend to merge files (replace older files with new ones of the same name and type)?  Any freeware out there?
    Thanks!

    It applies to all types of files.  I'm looking for something that can duplicate the way Windows will "merge files" from two working folders.  So that you can only replace modified files without replacing the entire folders contents.

  • Two files - 'merge'

    I caused myself a problem a couple of years ago when a disc failed and in relation to iPhoto I did a sloppy job of restoring everything from backups. It is so long ago that I cannot remember what, how and why I did it but basically I restored all the pictures but not the albums. As a result I have not updated/synchd my iPod or my AppleTV since as they both still have the entire list of albums which is essential for viewing and organization.
    Yesterday I went back to the backup and restored the whole lot. Well that sounds pretentious! I copied the iPhoto file into my MacPro Laptop Pictures folder. Now I have the 2008 version of the iPhoto running on my laptop with the 2010 version running on my desktop system.
    The 2010 version of the file has of course implemented Faces and that took some time - I don't want to lose that - but I do want the 2008 structure.
    iPhoto '09 runs on both systems.
    Anyone got any ideas about how I can with minimum hassle 'merge' the best of both onto my desktop? ie get the album structure onto the desktop iPhoto file whilst retaining the Faces info. All the 2008 photos are in the 2010 file.

    The only way to merge two Libraries is with iPhoto Library Manager. This will also move files/events/albums from plus +all associated metadata and versions+ from one Library to another.
    However, you appear to contradict yourself:
    Now I have the 2008 version of the iPhoto running on my laptop with the 2010 version running on my desktop system.
    and
    iPhoto '09 runs on both systems.
    You need to have the same version of iPhoto on both systems
    Regards
