File name of current document

Hello friends,
Now that I have managed to find citations (special strings) in paragraphs, footnotes, tables and table footnotes - all with your generous help - I need to find out the file name (path) of the current document (or book).
All that i have found is how to get the file name of a book component (well, that i'll need also, but later).
How can I find the file name of the current document (that is not part of a book) and
How can I find the file name of the current book?
Thanks again for Your help
Klaus

Friends,
Suddenly I have found the answer (searching in the oject reference for "filename" rather than "file name" - "pathname" in the FDK reference):
alert ("Now processing book\n"+ app.ActiveBook.Name);
alert ("Now processing document\n"+ app.ActiveDoc.Name);

  • Is it possible to change the default PDF file name from 'LabVIEW Document.pdf'?

    My application uses the 'Automatically print front panel every time VI completes execution' functionality to print front panels.  When I have my printer set to 'Adobe PDF', a dialog pops up and the default file name is 'LabVIEW Document.pdf'.  Is there a way to programatically set the name to something other than 'LabVIEW Document.pdf'?
    I've already found a solution that manipulates the Windows registry, and I'm looking for another option.

    Do a search, as this question has come up before. The solution centered on not using the Adobe PDF printer driver but one that is intelligent.

  • [CS3][JS] How to get the file type of current document

    Hi,
    How to get the file type of current opening document (e.g., tif, jpeg, png) using JavaScript with Photoshop CS3.
    I am using file object the open the files one by one in the folder (the files sometimes don't have the extensions).
    If the current document is in tiff format then I need to convert to 8-bit, if its an Jpg image then needs to ignore the file.
    Regards,
    Karthik

    Do you really need to know the file type? What about just checking the bit depth?
    var doc = activeDocument;
    if (doc.bitsPerChannel != BitsPerChannelType.EIGHT) {//Not 8 bit
    doc.bitsPerChannel = BitsPerChannelType.EIGHT;
    //do your save etc
    }else{
        //Ignore

  • How to get the trace file name for current running application?

    Hi, I want to know if it is possible to get the file name directly for current running application instance which is launched by javaws.
    There is a property "deployment.user.logdir" tells the log directory, it would be great if a file name property
    is available. something like "instance.trace.file".
    Our application wants it because we would like our client send use the application log by clicking a "send error"
    button, the codes finds the trace file and compress it and send it by using a smtp server.
    In 1.5, we can do it by using a shell program.

    I found other asked it before, but I tried to set both properties, but neither works. my sun JRE version :java version "1.6.0_04"
    <property
    name="deployment.javaws.traceFileName"
    value="abcfefsfdsf"/>
    <property
    name="deployment.javapi.trace.filename"
    value="235235235"/>
    But it always write to one trace file with name lik javaws63645.trace

  • Specify file name of the document returned on the HTTP post

    Hello,
    we are submitting a PDF form by calling submitForm function:
    doc.submitForm
            cURL: "http://localhost/script",
            cSubmitAs: "XML"
    The server returnes data of type "Content-type: application/pdf" and as a result this aplication/pdf data is displayed in a new window in Acrobat Reader.
    The document in new window has name e.g. A9R3347.tmp, is it possible to force some concrete name ?
    We tried to send from server the http header:
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"custom_name.pdf\"
    or
    Content-Type: application/pdf;         filename=custom_name.pdf
    but non of this works.
    1/ is it possible to set some custom name of the document, which is returned from a server in response of HTTP Post submit ?
    2/ is it possible to return other kind of data then application/pdf ? ( my tests with AR 9.3 with other formats failed).
    Thanks for any advice.

    Here is list of operations for file element, and you can save it in library column:

  • File name structure for picking up X12/EDIFACT documents from an FTP Server

    According to some documents, and posts in this forum, the file name for a document retreived from an FTP server by B2B has to be in the following format: %TPName%_%X12 Doc Type%_%X12 Version_1_12345.dat
    Why is this format required? Is it possible to obtain all this information for the Header Envelopes of each X12 or even EDIFACT EDI Document?

    Thanks Ramesh.
    I did specify the propery oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.edi.identifyFromTP=Group, but I was still not getting the expected results. Now I played around for a while and now I identified the problem . When I specify the property oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.edi.identifyFromTP=Group, I should use the Group ID when I create the agreement so that the agreement would be identified by using group id. I think I got that working now.
    I have one question on the trading partner end point URL in FILE/FTP. When I specify the endpoint URL for a trading partner would that be used to pull the document from the trading partner or push the documents to trading partner?
    In my testing even though I specified the end point URL for the trading partner using FILE protocol, when I put the message in that URL ( folder), it did not pull the message from that URL ( this trading partner is the initiator for that EDI 204 message). But when I put the messages into the host partner's end point URL, it got pulled and processed successfully. I am little confused on the usage of trading partner end point URL for the FILE/FTP protocols . Could you explain me little bit or point me to a documnet where it is expalined in detail?

  • How to get the active document file name using illustrator CS2 plugin code?

    I wanna take file name from active document using illustrator plugin CS2. Plz anybody help me..
    Thanks in advance..

    AIDocumentSuite::GetDocumentFileSpecification() should get you that information. Note that it will only work properly if you've already saved the document (or opened it from a file). I'm not sure what the result looks like if you're calling that on a new, unsaved file.

  • Printing file name on document.

    I want to print the name of the file when I print out a document. Instead of writing out the file name on each document, can't I just choose some preferance to do this for me?

    In the Print dialog box, select "Marks and Bleed" in the left column, then select "Page Information"
    This will print the document title, date and time of printout at the top of the document but if your document is 8.5x11 and you print it on an 8.5x11 piece of paper, then this information will not make it on your printed page.

  • HELP!!!!  File name / document title metadata question

    Is there any way to have the file name and the document title carry over to one another?
    I am doing a huge selection of images for our stock agency and have figured out how to add a simple bit of information to our in-house file names for example 11130-005.08D_IOTW (the _IOTW is what I have had to add for a submission) in lightroom in the file name local on the right of the screen when doing metadata....
    HOWEVER, we also need the document title/title and I don't want to have to open each seperate image and apply the simple _IOTW to each title.
    Is there anyway to instantaneously add the _IOTW to the title just like one can with the file name?
    HELP!!!???
    Erica

    Check out LR/Transporter by Timothy Armes. It has the capability of modifying metadata fields, including Title. If I understand your needs correctly, it should do what you want.

  • Finding File Name And Using It To Place The Graphic Using VBscript

    I'm trying to find a file name (example, <place:E:\logo.tif>) in each text frame if it's there, then remove the text from the frame and then place the file in the frame. This is to get around the feature missing from InDesign that is in PageMaker that allowed you to import inline graphics using tagged text. Below is what I have come up with so far. The file name is currently hard coded in the example below.
    Thanks,
    Archie

  • Original application file name

    hello,
    is it possible to view original application file name while searching document (attached file name not document name)?
    is it possible.currently i am not using EasyDMS.
    points will be awarded,be sure.
    thx in advance..

    Hi,
    maybe it is possible to create a special classification characteristic which includes the original file name. This file name is normally stored in table DMS_PHIO2FILE. Here you will find the original file path and name.
    You can also use report DMS_KPRO_READ. Here you can also enter document data and you will receive all necessary data on the attached originals as PHIO ID, LOIO ID and filenames.
    Hope this information is usefull and don't forget to reward points
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Script to Save Path/File Name/login user information

    Hi all,
    Could anyone tell me how to solve this below problem.
    ·        Here i  Need to write a script which does the following
                In Adobe Illustrator CS2, when i run script then the path information of the current open file, Filename of the file and the Login person name has to be recorded in a text file and saved onto the server. (Ex \\10.99.0.60\filehistory\ [today].txt).
    ·        All these activity should take place simultaneously by executing the script once.
    ·        Collect path/File name/Login information and write it to a file. After writing save it to a location in the server. All these should occur in one shot.
    ·        For different opened files of the same day work, different information (path/File name/Login) will be collected and appended to the same text file and locations.
    ·        Different files will be created for information about on each date.
    Regards,
    Sanat

    Try This. (BTW, i am a newbie, learning Applescript now)
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
    set filePath to get file path of current document
    set filePath1 to POSIX path of filePath
    set userName to get short user name of (system info)
    tell application "Finder"
    set theFilePath to (path to desktop as string) & "test.txt" as string
    set theFileReference to open for access theFilePath with write permission
    set theResult to get eof of theFileReference
    write filePath1 & " User Name: " & userName & return & return starting at theResult to theFileReference as string
    set theResult to theResult + 1
    close access theFileReference
    end tell
    end tell
