File transport on business service

We have a messaging flow in OSB 10gR3 that read a message from a JMS queue and puts the file in an directory on an IBM AIX platform.
There have been some problems with the OSB not able to rename the files from example.xml.a to example.xml due to the fact that the destination application already is reading the example.xml.a file.
I think that the xml.a is a temporary file used by the OSB to produce the target file in the directory on the file system and then renaming it to example.xml
Now I have two questions on this subject:
Is there any way to influence this behaviour of the file transport in OSB?
Is there any documentation available on the file transport protocol that goes deeper on the subject than the Oracle documentation on this protocol.
Thanks
Henk Westra

The problem is that the consumer application is picking up all files that appear in the directory. It doesn't matter what you put in.
We suggested that they use a file mask on the types of files that need to be picked up, but that seems to be a problem.
So all I want to know is, what is the behaviour of the file transport protocol as a business server and if there is any way to influence this.
And if my assumption is correct that the .a suffix is usd by the OSB while processing files.
Any extra documentation about the file transport protocol is welcome.
Thanks
Henk

  • Problem configuring Email transport for business service

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure an email transport for an outgoing business service and the General Configuration page is showing the error:
[WliSbTransports:381030]Neither SMTP nor mail session exists
and consequently the Email Transport configuration page has both the SMTP Server and Maill Session pull downs greyed out.
I presume there is some external configuration required so that OSB can discover the SMTP service but I can't find any reference to this. Can someone help?

Blog at http://blogs.oracle.com/christomkins/2007/12/sending_an_email_from_oracle_s.html by Chris Tomkins should help. Did you configure SMTP server in OSB?

    Hi,

  • Creating a "Business Service" from a WSDL: Can't initialize WsdlEntryHelper

I'm working through a "HelloWorld" setup of Weblogic (10.0.3.5) and OSB (11.1.1.5.0) using OEPE 11.1.1.7.2.
I have a OSB Project with a Weblogic Web Service. I've generated a WSDL and when I try to copy/paste or drag-and-drop or load the WSDL file through the Business Service Configuration I always get the following error:
    Description     Resource     Path     Location     Type
Could not initialize class com.bea.wli.sb.resources.wsdl.helpers.WsdlEntryHelper     HelloWorldService.wsdl     /HelloWorld_SB     line 1     ALSB Synchronization Error
If it helps, the WSDL is linked below. Any ideas? Thanks.
    http://pastie.org/3438419

I was able to recreate the test WS project and get to the same error as before. The difference is I didn't create an EAR project nor endpoint interfaces. It published fine with this bare-bones setup.
Can someone please take a look at my steps and see if I'm doing anything wrong and if you know how to get around it? Trying to get just the most simple local WS on OSB has taken days and I really need to get to work on something productive!
I'm pasting my notes below, but since the forum doesn't cooperate with my spacing, I've pasted a more readable version at pastie:

  • OSB best practices to run business service on two different environments

    Hi.
I am using Service Bus 11gR1
Oracle Service Bus Version: [Oracle Service Bus L10N Dependencies 11.1 Fri Dec 4 17:43:22 EST 2009 ]
Oracle Weblogic Server Version: [WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0 Fri Apr 1 20:20:06 PDT 2011 1398638 ]
I deploy my OSB services on two different environments (development, production).
How to setup business service to run on two different environments without changing source (business service transport Endpoint URI)?
    Thanks in advance.

I am not sure of any tutorial.
For your case if you just have one URI and you want to change the URI for the business service you can simply use the OSB Customization file. This is straight forward.
If you have complex routing logic based on inputs fields ,you can follow the below steps,
Create a simple table with Business Service Name,Env and URI as columns.
Create a select DBAdapter to return the URI
Create a business svc out the DBAdapter files
Use the business service to fetch the URI and finally
Use the URI override( ref - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/service-bus/learnmore/index.html)

  • OSB10gR3:High-availbility of file protocol based proxy service

    Hi All,
I just want to know the options available for creating two proxy services polling on the same location using File transport/ making a file based proxy service independent of managed servers.
Actually in OSB doc's File Transport Configuration page, it is mentioned that
Managed Server This field is available only in a clustered domain. Select the Managed Server to act as the polling server. All of the Managed Servers can process the message, but only one can poll for the message. ( [Click here|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/consolehelp/proxyservices.html#wp1272642] to check)
So what if the server on which proxy is deployed for polling, goes down? How can we handle such situation?
    Your opinion?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anuj

File like FTP and Email transports are singleton services. That is, the processing can take place in any node of the cluster, but the polling only takes place in one. The reason for this is simple, duplicate invocations. If you have 4 nodes in your cluster and they are all polling, when a new file is created, your proxy could be invoked 4 times for the same file.
You could make two proxy services and have them poll the same directory but on different nodes. If the nodes share the same file system, your business service would have to be able to deal with duplicate messages. If it's not the same file system, the application that creates the files would need to keep track of the status of the servers in the cluster to decide where to put the files.
I think the best option would be to look into weblogic's cluster features: leasing and server migration. You could configure weblogic to automatically migrate the failed server to another machine (there's also service migration, but I don't think weblogic is aware of osb level services). Of course you would need to use a file system that's available to both the "primary" and the "backup" servers. Have a look here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/cluster/migration.html
You could also create a WLST script to modify your proxy service (change the managed server) in case of failure. There should be a way, maybe through JMX or using the WLDF, to get a notification when the server goes down so you can execute your script. Again, you need a shared file system.
Hope that helps. And if you come up with a good solution let us know!

Sorry Forgot to mention eclipse version...

    Ok,
bcoz of this issue, i had to code the entire interface in OSB console. It runs fine in OSB console (i was able to test it successfully).
Is this a bug in eclipse or only i am facing this issue? Has anybody tried to create a business service from JCA FTP Get Synchronous jca file?

One more doubt? The PhysicalArchiveDirectory path can be on the FTP server something like: /MOMFiles/archive. Or do i have to use the Put operation to move it to /MOMFiles/archive directory. Currently OSB console and eclipse do not accept FTP path for this parameter and want me to specify a local directory on server. Thanks

  • Business service NOT getting configured from jca file in Windows 7

I am faced with a problem in Windows 7.
In one machine with Win XP as OS, when I create a business service from a JCA(.jca) file, the Endpoint URI gets configured automatically with jca://<jndi name>/... and having protocol as jca.
But, when I do the same in Windows 7, the endpoint URI is not getting configured neither do I find a jca option in protocol so that I can configure it manually.
The probable reason I sense, is that some files(may be jar or others) are not getting the acccess required by OEPE.
Any suggestions, which jars or files are required for the configuration to be correct??? I mean for the JCA protocol to come up ??

I could create a JCA business service on windows 7 64bit without any issues. Can you follow below points and let us know the result -
    1. Make sure that you are running eclipse as administrator. right click on "eclipse.exe" and select "Run as administrator"
    2. Make sure that file $OEPE_Installation_Dir\dropins\oracle.osb.ide.link has a valid OSB home entry like below -
path=E:/ofmw11g/mw/Oracle_OSB13. Make sure that below directory exists -
    $OSB_home\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.alsb.transports.jca_1.1.0
    For e.g. - my setup have E:\ofmw11g\mw\Oracle_OSB1\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.alsb.transports.jca_1.1.0

Only the business service would rely on the JMS queues, which in turn would trigger an MDB. I have tested the business service and it works fine.
