File Upload App

I have created an upload file portlet in .NET (4.5 ws using Plumtree .NET web controls for VS.NET) and I am using the htmlfileinput control which proiveds a 'browse' button to the local drive. you select the file and click a plumtree submit button to upload the file.If the file is less than 4 megs, all is well. If it greater than 4 megs, I get an ugly, red 'error accessing gatewayed content' message.I have set my httpRuntime maxRequestLength to allow for 20 megs in the web.config of my .NET app. This has no effect.Am I missing something in Plumtree 4.5??
I can upload a file larger than 4 megs thru the default Documents Directory, but since I have no check-in, check-out there, I am writing my own doc management system based on plumtree users and groups.

Unfortunately file uploads will never be possible with an in-page refresh. The refresh uses javascript to post the content and javascript cannot retrieve the file data from the client.
Moreover, the web controls will tryto perform an in-page refresh but as you've seen, you won't get the file data. There are a few workarounds though. You could do the file upload section in another web app which does NOT use the web controls - then pass control back to the main app. Another thing you could try is to use a submit button/imagebutton WITHOUT ptrender=true on it - this should perform a standard submit & leave the file data intact.
[In the upcoming 2.2 release this is addressed such that in-page refresh will be disabled for file upload forms.]

  • BI-Integrated Planning: File Upload

Hi, I have implemented the "BI-Integrated Planning: File Upload" paper and it seems to work fine.
Whatever "Version" is in the delimitied file gets loaded just fine. (New Version gets created in master data)  So if version 999 is in the file the new version 999 get created with no master data issues.  But, when I try to load a file with a material that doesn't exist in Master Data, I get errors about the material not existing.  We need to have the upload allow new materials..
I am wondering if it Is the InfoObject Conversion Routine that causes the error, but if that was the case we wouldn't be able to load new materials in our regular loads.
Why does the file upload app allow you to create a new version, but not a new material?
    Any ideas?

I found out that a new characteristic value can be created for characteristics with no Master Data Table.
    I.E. 0VERSION can have a new value
    I.E. 0MATERIAL cannot have a new value

  • File Upload in WebSphere App Server (3.5.4)

    Hi
I am trying to upload a file from the client to the server. I am using oReilley's MultipartRequest to do this. This works fine in my Test Environment in Visual Age. But does not work in Websphere App Server.
I get a "Error during native read operation". This happens mostly for big files more than 2 MB and sometimes for small files as well.
Is this is a server issue? ('cos i tried using from jspsmart File Uplaod class and the result was the same).
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Strange issue.  User can upload the file using IE9, but cannot do the same using Safari, Chrome, or FireFox.  The library resides in a Site Collection that was migrated from a 2010 Site Collection.  The timeout on IIS is 120 seconds.Very strange

try using rest api for this much file upload if you are using custom solution.

  • Problem in downloading file from app server using CG3Y in to .XLS fomat

    hi All,
I have uploaded file in to application server through a program using open data set with the separater as "|" ( pipe ) . Now the user should be able to download the file from apps server to presenataion server in .XLS format using txn CG3Y. but when we download, the format appears wierd and the data is not consistent across columns in excel. i.e the data which is supposed to be in one column in the excel is in the other column. what precautaions should i take  before moving data to apps server so that it will be downloaded in a good format.
    Appreciate your help...
    Regards,
    Sreekanth.

Separate each values with TAB space present in the application server .
Currently u r using | pipe character. Instead of that use CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB as delimiter.
Each value will displayed in separate cells in excel sheet when u download it frm app.server

  • Downloading a file from App Server to User's Desktop

    Hi All,
I know that there are many threads on file upload and download :-)
I have tried to browse through most of them and could not find my solution.
The requirement is to place a file in the unix app server directory and allow the user to download it using a link, to the user's desktop. In case you think that this has already been answered in an old thread, kindly give me the pointer. Any sample code for doing this, would be great.
I know how to upload a file from desktop to table/app server. I know how to download a file from a BLOB column in database.
    Thanks,
    Amit

You would not be able to use file upload or download beans, as they interact with the database and not the filesystem.
You would need to write a simple file reader routing in plain java.

  • Download PDF file from APP server!

    Hi!
Has anyone tried uplaoding and downloding a PDF table from app server as I tried from a normal method by Open dataset, Transfer but it wont work.
    Please provide any inputs.
    Thanks.

    Hi park,
    1. Using open data set, transfer , close etc,
       also it will work.
( it will download / upload any kind of file from app server)
    2. Just make sure the
       FULL PATHNAME and the FILENAME
       are mentioned in EXACT CASE
      (small/CAPITAL).
    3. U can check thru transaction AL11, to see the file and path.

  • How to add a field for multiple file upload in WebApps ?

I am creating a WebApp for user to save some information with multiple pitcures. I can only see a single uploader.
How can I add multiple image uploader and How can I create a custom file upload field rather than image upload ?

    Hi,
There's no other upload field type for web apps.  You'll need to use the "image file type" to apply multiple file upload fields within the web app form in this case.
    Kind regards,

  • Problem using File upload in portlets

    hello there
I'm trying to use file upload component in one of my portlets. I searched a lot about a working component to be used in portlets since the standard one that comes with JSC doesn't work in portlets. I managed to get commons file upload and tomahawk to run in my portlet, but when I choose a file and try to get selected file's details it throughs a NullPointerException reporting that the file object is null.
so please can anyone guide me to a working portlet example, I tried to find one but I couldn't. if that's hard to find, what should I do ?
    thank you in advance

  • File Upload in the Front End

I believe what I am about to ask isn't possible, however, I thought I should ask.before I say it cannot be done.
With open admin you can create file uploads that upload to a specified directory. Is there anyway to expose this on the front end of the site to allow for customers to upload files?
I ask because I would like to replicate a file upload feature that uploads to a specific directory of the site. Once that is done I display the image on the front end of the website.
I know I can upload files using a webform, however, this doesn't work for what I would like to do.
Any ideas or thoughts on this?

    Hi Lynda,
That would be a security risk with bad files, viruses and open to abusive use.
You can submit files to a folder via a web app submission where you have to be logged in. This is that option for those reasons and a normal form submission goes into a case to keep it off your site so someone cant store and hotlink as a free storage space etc.

  • Possible to show file upload progress for web form submission?

I just made a simple form as a test. There are 3 files being submitted here via a "web form".
Files being uploaded in this case are of these sizes:
    110MB
    9MB
    24MB
I'm testing functionality that will let a print shop's clients upload their files. For larger files they'll use FTP but this "order form" does a lot of business for them so we're trying to replicate in BC.
My problem is that I am wondering if there is a way to show the "upload progress" as a total %. Such as a visual status bar, etc.
As of now the only way it's showing is in the default browser status bar (chrome in this case):
    http://cl.ly/image/1d3U0S1h2521
I read somewhere that the limit is 150MB for an upload. Wondering if that means 150MB TOTAL as in 3 files combined in my case. Or If I chose to allow 3 files to be attached would it allow for 450MB?
Also, if you do a user submitted web app instead and allow people to attach files that way, does the same file limit apply?
My second issue is that the upload speed seems to be SLOW. I know it's not my connection because on my non BC site as well as another with the same form, the files upload fairly fast. But on BC it just crawls and on a few tests I get this:
    http://cl.ly/image/2T2q160M1R1n
Any help or suggestions with the file upload progress as well as file upload speed would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

So if i have 3 files to be uploaded, the max allowed is 750MB correct? (just wondering if when uploading its 250mb total or per file).
Guess i'll do something fake to make it appear its working with a loading graphic or something.
My web browser (chrome in this case) shows the % uploaded. I wonder if all web browsers do the same. I havent tested yet.
If only there were a way to have javascript or something grab that same #% from the web browser itself and just format it to appear where I want on the form along with the % uploading.
    Anyone know if that's possible?
Here's where Chrome for mac shows it:
    http://cl.ly/image/1c3i3x25262j
If I could grab that (uploading 19%) from the browser and format it into css/html i'd be gold.
Then find if similar browsers do the same and write some js for each browser specifically to grab it.
In a perfect world at least....
