Files not compiling

Hello,
RH 8 and outputting a CHM.
When I generate CHM, I get an output message (in the Pod) that tells me 'the following files were not compiled.'
I've checked the files and they seem fine to me. In essence, they are no different than the myriad files that compiled successfully.
I know the ultimate solution will be to recreate the offenders...
But, are there any ideas about the cause?
An observation...things were generating fine until I output the same project as WebHelp. Post WebHelp, compilation has been wonky.
Thanks.

Hi all
Not intending to tread on Colums toes here, but I think deeper investigation is warranted. Was this project inherited from another author or have you always been the sole author?
Perhaps the .HTC files have a purpose you aren't currently aware of.
I'd say make a backup copy of the .HTC files before you do anything. You may be destroying something that took eons for someone else to create.
Just my $.02 worth. (Which means I think I owe you $250.00 given today's economy!)
Cheers... Rick

• Java files not compiling

i have 3 java files that im trying to compile for my CS class:
IntCalc.java
IntCalcPanel.java
IntCalcGUI.java
the panel uses IntCalc for an object and the GUI uses the panel as an object.
i cannot compile the panel or the GUI in the command prompt because it says
IntegerCalculatorPanel.java:17: cannot find symbol
symbol : class IntegerCalculator
location: class IntegerCalculatorPanel
IntegerCalculator calc = new IntegerCalculator();
^
IntegerCalculatorPanel.java:17: cannot find symbol
symbol : class IntegerCalculator
location: class IntegerCalculatorPanel
IntegerCalculator calc = new IntegerCalculator();
^
2 errors
even though all three files are in the same directory
these files WILL compile if i use an IDE. i tried jGRASP and they compile and run fine.
what do i do to fix this?
(xp pro)

For classpath, you can shorten the word to "-cp", I
believe (it doesn't work on our Java at work, becauseNo, that will not work in this case!
-cp only works on the java command (to execute Java programs), not on javac (the compiler). Stupid, isn't it?
Make sure that your CLASSPATH environment variable is not set - that will make Java use the current directory as the default, and you won't have to type "-classpath ." every time.
If you're starting a serious project with lots of source files, I suggest you have a look at Ant to manage your build process.

• Fpga compile worker error (file not found)

Hi
I try to get started with the FPGA functionality of cRIO and got stuck. This seems to be no issue of the cRIO(9014) but of the Xilinx software together with NI.
I am running an English LV 2011 ( many previuos versions installed as well) on a German Windows XP prof. 32 bit.
I was setting up a little project and when it came to compiling ran into errors. First I asked a colleague than I checked the NI support web site. Next time I'll contact the NI local support, but maybe some of you guys hast a faster answer before.
1. I want to run a local compile server. I can start it from start> programs>NI> FPGA. Up pops a question whether I want to allow others to connect remotly. The answer seems to make no difference.
I do not see any icon in the task bar or elsewhere. SHOULD I see a process running in the task manager ?
2. The NI Service locator seems to be running http:/localhost:3580/dump shows a table like attached. SHOULD I see the server running here ?
3. If I start the Compile Worker after some seconds I get a message saying something like file not found. I think, compile server error is only a followup.
I have already re-installed the Xilinx-Tools from the down loaded iso. (that having started yesterday night ......) .
I attach as well the log file. (would have liked, but three is the max)
That whole system of compilation seems to be not very stable when I see all the posts, but I have not found these specific errors.
So I still hope someone has an idea.
Thanks in advance

Second thoughts:
Is it really worth using that so highly promoted FPGA on cRIO ???? We'll see.
This Question is technically wrong!
Whenever you are using the C-Series IO-Modules of the cRIO you are using the FPGA, even in ScanMode where NI RIO loads pre-defined bitfiles onto the FPGA.
The FPGA provides you ns Timing, it gives you nativly true parallelism, you are directly programming the bahaviour of FlipFlops, LUTs, Registers and so on.
It gives you the ability to programm hardware without the need to understand complex HDL languages.
The cRIO is besides PXI the most flexible and powerful (908x) platform NI offers. The decision to use an FPGA or to use a cRIO should not be "because it's there".
The decision to use an FPGA-based Platform depends on the complexity of the application, just think about custome beahviour of IOs or custom triggering.

P.s.: Great that you solved your compiler issue.

• [weblogic-9.1] JSP 2.0 tag file gets compiled but not reloaded

I am trying to use a JSP 2.0 tag file on weblogic 9.1. Everything works as expected until I reload the page after changing the tag file. Consider the following files, simple.jsp and simple.tag:
h5. /simple.jsp
<%@ page language="java" %>
<%@ taglib prefix="sandbox" tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags" %>
<html>
<body>
This output comes from the jsp.
<sandbox:simple>
</sandbox:simple>
</body>
</html>h5. /WEB-INF/tags/simple.tag
<%@ tag language="java" %>

This output comes from a tag file

The output of a call to simple.jsp is:

This output comes from the JSP.

This output comes from a tag file

So far, so good. Now I change the content of simple.tag to
<%@ tag language="java" %>

This output comes from *simple.tag*
On a new call to simple.jsp,
1. Weblogic notices that the file has been changed,
2. generates the TagHandler .java file
3. compiles the .java file
But the new class file seems not to be loaded by weblogic; the resulting HTML does not change. It is not a browser cache issue, as I can see Javelin compilation errors. E.g., changing the tag file content to
<%@ tag language="j" %>

This output comes from simple.tag
leads to the following (expected) error:
Compilation of JSP File '/sandbox/simple.jsp' failed:
simple.tag:1:18: "j" is not a valid setting for the language attribute.
<%@ tag language="j" %>
^-^
Changes to the .jsp file are reflected in the HTML output.
Am I missing something? Is there any flag I have to set in my weblogic configuration?

You are right in saying that decoding has nothing to
do with rendering per se.I will go even further than Erik did, and dispute this statement.
Consider that you are generating an tag for a text field. Among other things, you have to generate a "name" attribute. Who decides what to put there? The renderer that actually created the markup.
The "renderer" really does
two completely different things. But both should
nevertheless be separate from the component
implementation itself. You could still have the
renderer doing the decoding part, which arguably would
rarely change, and somehow delegate the actual
rendering to an implementation in a tag file.Whether you implement decoding in a separate class or inside the component, what request parameter name do you look for? It is not reasonable to assume that ALL possible renderers will choose the same parameter name ... hence, decoding and encoding are inextricably linked (the code doing the decoding has to know what kind of markup the code doing the encoding actually created). In JavaServer Faces, the current APIs create that linkage by requiring that the decode and encode be done by the same class (either the component, if you are not delegating, or the renderer if you are).

Hi all
Something else that may be at play here is the file format involved. Generally speaking, "web friendly" image formats are .GIF, .JPG and .PNG. .BMP isn't really considered to be a "web friendly" image format.

• Files were not compiled message

Whenever I compile my HTML Help project, I get the following
message:
"The following files were not compiled:
http:\www.aldon.com"
I have searched the entire project folder for this string of
characters with both the RH Multi-file Search tool and with Windows
search. Neither tool found such a string. The string also does not
appear in the list of URLs.
Any suggestions?
Bob Boller

Hi, Bob,
Is that URL the target of a "Jump" button that you added to
the toolbar of a help window? If so, the error message is nothing
to worry about. It just signifies that the compiler, which normally
only pulls local source files into the help file, was incapable of
fetching a remotely-held one.

• Why am I getting File not Found alert when I type into my browser?

Why do I keep getting a File not Found alert when I type into my browser?
I have been using firefox for about 4 yrs now with very few problems. The problem I am having is that when ever I go to type in anything into my browser I keep receiving this message:
(Scroll down to see the rest)
File not found
Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/omni.jar!/chrome/en-US/locale/browser-region/region.propertieschronic+fatigue+syndrome.
I recently installed Firefox 5.0 and this keeps happening. It happened with the 4.0 version a couple of days ago but mostly it is the 5.0 version that I am having problems with. When ever I want to do a search I have to manually type in google.com. Is there a solution to fix this?

The NuGet is a dll that was built with 4.0.0.0. The easiest thing to fix problem is target you VS project to use Net 4.0. You could get a new version of NuGet, but if you do make sure you rebuild your entire project. The dependencies in
the VS compiler doesn't always recognize updated libraries. So I normally rename the bin folder in the project and then delete the bin folder. VS will create a new bin folder and then rebuild all the source files. If your project contains
multiple projects then remember to delete the bin from all projects.

• Removing warning for "Default CSS file not found."

I am getting this warning in Flash Builder:
"Default CSS file not found."
I can not for the life of me figure out how to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Default css file can be specified as a compiler option (per SWC, I think).
See http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=compilers_14.html
For example, flex framework has a default CSS file: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\3.5.0\frameworks\projects\framework\default.css
Do you have some library project or a swc with default css file option turned on, but the css file is missing?

Hi,
please explicitly "make" the project. One reason for this problem could be that the model.cpx isn't created properly. Select the model project and compile the complete project before deploying it. Sometimes it helps to clear the "class" directory of the project on teh file system before re-compiling

• File not found when trying to call a dll on LabVIEW Real Time machine

I have a dll called "DLLRTTEST" that I've written, and have succesfully called on my host machine. I'm now attempting to call this dll from a vi that is located on my real time computer. Currently I get an "Error 7 occurred at Call Library Function Node in DLLRTTEST.vi." message upon execution
In the attached screenshot I'm trying to ensure that the vi I'm running is in fact located on the real time system. I then use a "Check if File or Folder Exists.vi" to confirm that the dll that I'm about to call does exist on the real time system as well. However, I still receive an "error 7 file not found" error from the Call Library Function Node.
Any help is appreciated.

As nathand already mentioned, depending on your C toolchain your DLL will depend on other DLLs. Usually the according msvcrtXX.dll that matches your Visual C version, if you use Visual C, other runtime DLLs if you use a different C environment. These runtime DLLs are even necessary if you do not call anything in any of your functions, since the DLL makes various initialization steps when it gets loaded and that references some C runtime functions nevertheless. Compiling and linking the DLL with static C runtime is usually also not a clean solution since the linked in C runtime will then reference Windows APIs that are not available on LabVIEW RT.
Depending on your version of LabVIEW RT you will have some mscvrtxx.dll files in your system directory but it will be an older one than from the latest Visual Studio version. If you can compile your DLL with that Visual Studio version then you should be fine, but could possibly run into new problems if you later upgrade to a newer LabVIEW RT version. Installing the C runtime distributables from newer Visual Studio versions is unfortunately also not a solution, since it references many (undocumented) Windows API functions that are not available in LabVIEW RT.

• Error : file not found in SharePoint 2010

I have a problem of error "file not found" in a site collection SharePoint 2010.
I cannot access to home page, the page of list/library/permission,etc. All pages will appear an error "file not found"
I can access to the page of "all content"
I can access to the site setting page, but I cannot open the link on this page. For example, I select "quick launch" in "Look and feel" section, it will show an error "file not found".
I think I must reset my master page, but I cannot use SharePoint Designer (forbidden in my application), I cannot open the link on site setting page, and I cannot open library page to check the master page
I can access to mobile view, and all pages work well in mobile view, but I did not find site setting page
How could I check the master page? Or this problem has other solution?
Thank you in advance.

You might have referred an image or style sheet or some file from an invalid path. Check the error in detail, where you might be able to know which file or file path is not correct. Then recorrect it in the master page and then refresh the site.
UPDATE - Can you configure the web.config to display the detailed error? Make -
<CustomErrors Mode="Off">, CallStack="true" and
<compilation debug="true" />
Do an IISReset and then refresh the site.
