Files to delete in Premiere Elements

Can someone direct me to a Document that shows what files can be deleted from a Video Project?
There are so many files created, previews, encoded, media cache, prel, etc
I know I need to keep something, especially if I want to reopen the project, just don't know what.
Thanks, Pat

Patrick,
Along with Steve's suggestion, the first thing you need to ask yourself is "what will I likely want to do with this Project in the future?" That can determine what can safely be done and what can safely be eliminated.
Usually, all Render files, all .PEK and Audio conform files, can be safely eliminated. PE will reconstruct these, as needed. The only thing that you will loose is a little time, when opening a "cleanded" Project, as PE will be busy recreating these. Be patient.
What I would look into would be Archiving your old Projects, onto an external HDD (hard drive). You never know when you'll want to go back, and this is usually the best way to do so.
Once you have made the decision of what will likely happen to the Projects in the future, report back, and someone can give you specific instructions on what can be eliminated, and how best to do it.

I cannot play .mov files (from iPhone) in Premiere Elements 10. Is there a solution?
It used to work fine. I wonder if the problem has something to do with the recent iPhone update. Is there any Premiere update I can download?

Well, if it used to work... and then you updated your iphone and now it does not work... that seems to ME like the iphone update changed something in the files
But, exactly what is inside your mov files?

  • Saved files will not load Premiere Elements 8

I have a Sony Vaio laptop I purchased in 2011, running Windows 7. Preinstalled on the computer was Premiere Elements 8 so I have been editing a video I recorded using this software, December 31, 2014 was the last time I edited the video until yesterday. Yesterday I booted up my computer, started Adobe Premiere Elements 8, Opened my project, watched as the loading meter went to 100%, the loading meter went off and nothing...I was looking at the Premiere Elements 8 screen with nothing, just a grey background with all my headings at the top like I had not opened a project, I have tried this many times with the same results

Thanks for the update. Sorry the solution was not found yet.
I do not see an avenue from Adobe for a fresh download since this was a pre-install from a computer manufacturer. You might be able to get the serial number for this pre-install. If this version got registered at Adobe somehow, there might be a listing for it under "My Products" after you sign into Adobe web site (http://www.adobe.com) with your Adobe ID and Password. Type in My Products in the Search field and follow it to your products. If you see Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0 listed, click on that to reveal the serial number.
But still no replacement installation files.
    Let us recap
    1. Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and 8.0 Folder deleted
    2. You have been through my check list in post numbered 3.
    3. You have done general computer maintenance.
    4. Can you get into Elements Organizer 9? If so, please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalzyer Options and disable everything under AutoAnalzyer Options.
Did that impact the issue in anyway?
    5. We cannot uninstall reinstall or create a new User Account with Administrative Privileges since we do not have access to installation files and probably serial number.
Are we at a stage when System Restore to about December 31, 2014 becomes an option? Or rolling back the Windows Updates to December 32, 2014?
You have ruled out that the problem exists with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled. Is that correct?

  • Where do I find the file to install Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7 64 bits?

Hi there. I ran a little search on the forum for that subject but I couldn't find it. So, if it is a double post or something like that, I'm sorry, and please lead me to where it was already talked about.
The thing is: I bought the downloadable bundle with Premiere Elements 10 and Photoshop Elements 10 and I have the links to download them on my account, no problem. I installed them both on my Windows XP last year and that was ok.
Yesterday I upgraded my PC and now I have Windows 7 64 bits on. I could install Photoshop Elements just fine, but when I try to install Premiere Elements 10, the following error message appears.
So, what do I do? I looked for it on my account again and there is no other file there, just the same file I used before on Windows XP and I'm trying to use now, just like with Photoshop Elements 10, but that worked just fine.
And that leads to my question that is the name of this discusssion. Can someone help me? I live in Brazil and I didn't want to call phone support, and since I didn't find any free agent to call me on chat support, I decided to go here.
I hope you guys can help me and thank you in advance.
    My best regards,
    Joao Jose Gois

Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately it didn't work, but I guess that you helped me to really find the issue here.
I really have only one installer available to me, for both Photoshop Elements and for Premiere Elements. However they have a slight difference in the file name.
On Photoshop, when I download the files, their names are just "Photoshoplements_10_LS15" and the extension. However, on Premiere, after the name of the program there is "win32" and only then we get to the extension file.
So, I only have access to Win32 download. Even if I click on the "Alternate Download Method", I can only see two files: One that is the .7z file and the .exe, but both saying "win32" in the name.
I still can't install it in here.
Is there any mail that I can send to adobe support? When I go to Brazilian Adobe Online Store and click on Support, I'm always redirected to the '.com' website and I end up here.
Once again, thank you all in advance for all the help or attention for this thread.
    Regards,
    Joao Jose Gois

  • "This type of file is not supported" - Premiere Elements 9

I've recently begun learning to use Premiere Elements 9, but I've run into a problem. I am trying to import videos that were recorded with a Canon G9 DSLR camera. I can add them to the Orgnizer and view/watch them from there, but when I try to drag them from the organizer to the timeline in a project, it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
I followed the instructions on this page:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
and used Super to convert one of the videos to a DV Digital Video file using the default settings as the instructions explain. It output a file with the extention ".avi.dv" which seems to have the correct attributes. However, I get the same error when trying to drag it into a project timeline - "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
Am I doing something incorrectly? I've tried several different project files settings (including DV 48kHz) but this happens in all of them.
I'd greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong.

    Steve Grisetti wrote:
When you start a new project, click on the Settings button. In the preset panel, open the DSLR options and look for settings that match your specific video.
I tried that, but the videos' resolution is 1024 x 768 at 15fps, which doesn't match any of the DSLR settings. The camera can record in 640x480 30fps, but the only setting with a matching resolution is 60fps, and it gives the same error when I try to drag in a 640x480 30fps video in the 640x480 setting.
In any event, can't you import and use any video file (avi, wmv, mov, etc) in any project regardless of the project's setting? I tried converting the videos to .wmv format with the same resolution (1024 x 768) but at 25fps and was able to import and work with them in that format perfectly. It just won't let me import them in their original .avi form or in the Super©-exported .dv format.
the_wine_snob wrote: Though my wife has a Canon G-10, I cannot recall the exact CODEC that is inside the resultant MOV format files ...If you are getting a "missing CODEC" message, then it is likely that you either do not have the proper CODEC installed, the installation is corrupt or that PrE cannot work with that particular version.
The G9 outputs .avi files rather than .mov. I don't know what codec they use, but the codec is installed and functioning because the videos can be played in any player on this computer (eg Windows Media Player), and can also be played within the Premiere Organizer screen (where you import them and create libraries). I just can't preview/play them in the project window, or drag them to the timeline (it gives the missing codec error in both cases).
Regardless of that, when I convert the video to DV-AVI format in Super© using the default settings as recommended by the link I posted, shouldn't the resulting video be useable regardless of its original format? It exports with the extension .dv.
However, either I was mistaken before or something has changed, because now I can't import the .dv files at all (it isn't even listed as one of the supported file extensions in the import dialog box dropdown menu, and if I chosoe "all files" and try to import it it gives the "not supported/missing codec" error). Windows 7 also is not recognizing the .dv file as videos, and although I can play them in Windows Media Player, I first have to OK the error message that it doesn't recognize the file extension but "may still be able to play it" (which it does). I assume a DV codec must be installed, otherwise it wouldn't be able to play the converted videos at all.
Am I missing something? Is ".dv" the wrong extension? The tutorial says it's "DV-AVI format", but if I change the extension to ".avi" the files won't play at all.
Hopefully this makes sense, as you can tell I'm very new to this and am not yet familiar with all the files types / extensions and resolutions etc.
EDIT: The program MediaInfo reports the .dv files exported by Super© are:
    Format :
    DV
    Format_Commercial_IfAny :
    DVCPRO
at 720x480, 29.970fps with Windows PCM audio.
It says the original .avi files are JPEG format with Windows PCM audio.

  • Can a .prel file be imported to Premiere Elements 9

I have several movies that have been created with past versions of Elements. I do not have the DVDs. Is there a way I can import and edit these .prel files?

    Thank you for your response.
I guess I did not give a good description of my problem.
Yes I have three 1TB hard drives with most of my movies from the past few years. These drives contain the Adobe files along with the video and audio files that were edited to produce the Adobe projects and DVDs.
I must also say that I have registered versions of Adobe software going back to when.......the newest version of Premiere Elements, ver. 9, is installed on my computer at this time.
I had a request from a friend for a DVD of a basketball game from 2007. His grandson was one of the players in that game. Not having a copy of the DVD for that game I thought this is easy. I loaded the hard drive went the Adobe project file and tried to open it. This project was created with an older version of Adobe software. The reply was that code for that file was not available! Now I'm thinking Adobe would not do that to its customers. So I went online to look for an answer. I should have never done that. I get too frustrated because the answers now days is never to the question I asked. I understand the economics of this but I've been working with computers since DOS 1.1. Back in the days when Bill Gates answered the help line with "Hello this is Bill can I help you!" The key that is missing today is real customer service. Sorry I'm off the subject. I could not find any answer about the Premiere Elements being backward compatible. That is when I turned to the forum. Since I do have the video and audio files I can create a new project and create the DVD. I stand is that I should NOT have to re-do this project. I'm going to have to spend time redoing work done. The part that makes me mad is I have to do this because Adobe wants more money on its profit sheet at my expense. I know I don’t have to buy the product but I am a loyal customer or at least was a loyal customer. I've notice other software out there that does what I need. Sorry again I'm off subject!
I thank you for taking the time to reply and trying to help. If you know anything about an add-on or extra code I can use to save me time I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks
    Michael

  • Moving a group of files from Organizer into Premiere Elements 10

I've just spent two hours trying (unsuccessfully) to figure out how to use tags in Organizer to select a subset of files in an album and then send those files into Premiere Elements 10.  I don't want them in the timeline, I just want to import only those files with specific tags in Organizer into a new project in Premiere Elements as media to use to create a project in Elements.  I'm willing to save copies of these files into a new folder on my hard drive if that's what it takes, but I can't figure out how to do that either.  Help??

    In Windows do this:
Have PRE open in your blank project with the Media pane displayed.
    Select your clips in Organizer.
Drag the clips over the PRE icon in the taskbar. Do NOT release the mouse button.
After a second or so PRE will display.
Still holding the mouse button move the mouse drag icon over the media panel.
Now release the mouse button and your clips will be in the project media and your timeline will be empty.
    Cheers,
    Neale

  • Video file help for Adobe Premiere Elements 7

    Hello,
I am not a technical person so I don't really understand all the "big words" per se.
I got my movies converted to a DVD from a company and they sent it to me in an mp4 format which I thought I could just import into Premiere and start to edit.  Well that didn't work.  Trying to figure out how to import it so I could edit it.  I know if I convert it through something the quality will go down.
I don't know anything about codecs but it says the Video Codec is LEAD H264 Decoder (3.0) and the Audio codec is LEAD AAC Decoder.
Hope that helps and someone out there could help me.
    Stacy

    Stacy
Given you have files with .mp4 file extensions on a DVD disc for storage purposes.
And, you want to use these files in a Premiere Elements 7 Windows project. What do you
    mean by
I thought I could just import into Premiere and start to edit.  Well that didn't work.
    How did it not work?
    a. When you opened Premiere Elements 7 and went to Get Media/Files and Folders/ did you
get an error message that prevented you from going further?
    b. If you imported your file into Organize/Media, did you have a problem after you dragged your video to the Timeline view Timeline or the Sceenline view Filmstrip?
    or
    c. Was the issue some place else?
Backing up a little, how did you attempt to import the .mp4 from the DVD disc to Premiere Elements 7?
    a. Copy file from disc and paste to desktop from where you used Premiere Elements Get Media/Files and Folder?
    b. User Premiere Elements 7's Get Media/"DVD(Camcorder or PC DVD Drive)"/Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader?
Once we sort out the above, then I would like to learn more about the properties of your files. Right now we know only that they are .mp4 files that use video compression = LEAD H.264 and audio compression = LEAD AAC. Do you know what we have here...720 x 480 4:3 or 720 x 480 16:9 Widescreen or something else?
Please review the above and do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything written.
At this point, I am not sure if the problem is related to how you imported that video into Premiere Elements 7 or the properties of the video itself (original or some possible modification of the original).
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.

  • Can I use premiere 6.x storyboard files (*.psq) in premiere elements 12

I like to open a project in PREL 12 which was created in Premiere 6. The project file has a psq extention.
Is there a way to import this project in PREL12 or convert this psq files to a format that can be opened or imported in PREL12?

    Siger58
I see no support for a Premiere 6 project file (psq) opening in Premiere Elements (any version).
What computer operating system is involved?
Assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit for now.
What are the properties of the Timeline media that you have in Premiere 6?
There is no changing the format of the Premiere 6 project file. But you can export the Timeline to an appropriate format that we can discuss next and then import that video into Premiere Elements 12 where you will probably need to cut it if you intend to do significant additional edits.
    More later.
That is my take on the situation that you present.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9 project crash, HELP!

This is the first time I am using these forums, so I hope I posted this in the right sektions.
I need help and solutions for a Project which constantly crashes on my Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9. This program has been awesome and helped me create some projects and videos successfully, up until.... well for about 3 days ago when my latest project crashed when I had just antered and checking the storyboard etc, triggering a "Serious Error" message and then it shuts down. I try again and again, but everytime I try to put something (any sound or video etc) on the storyboard and start working etc the same damn "Serious Error" message and then allways shuts down. It's allways this same and only project (which has worked fine before) that crashes like this...
In an attempt to first solve the problem myself I went through the Premiere Elements 9 files and deleted finnished projects and automatic saved process on projects etc, but still won't work even better... The funny thing is that when I open another project (a finnished project I left saved just in case) and go through the storyboard there and messes around a little and such, it won't crash nor trigger the same message as my latest project. And that program even has some effects on every footageclip on it too, but still it works fine. Haven't touched the program or the program until and since yesterday night to give it some rest but it still won't work, the project just keeps crashing like when and since it first started a few days ago.
I have also read through and tried some things from this Help/Troubleshoot page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/troubleshoot-damaged-projects-premiere-element s.html
I have so far been doing 1 and 2 of the "Beginning Troubleshooting", otherwise I have been reading it all and such. I am also kinda afraid to do the 3 of the first quests because I worked so hard on this project and even tough it just keeps crushing, I'm afraid to lose it. Other, I have deleted audios and such from my filegallery on my Adobe Premiere Eements, stuff I don't need anymore because its projects are already done. After I did that I also tried to create a new project just for testing. The amazing this about this is that this the new created project I created works just fine, I could do all kinds of the stuff, effects and advanced editing which I did on the same project before it started crushing. Tough I didn't save that test-project since I didn't find a reason to since it worked so good. And so the thing is that I can start and create a new project and start working and do usual stuff on it with no problem, same when I open up another project and do stuff, it all works just fine! It is just this one and only project that keeps crushing with this "Serious Error" message, all the time... Does anybody else have, or has had the same problem? What could the problem and error be and how to fix it?
This crushing project do has some effects on every footageclip/videoclip on it, to set the right mood for the musicvideo I'm making. I am making a musicvideo, and I haven't even done the half of the project/video. The song I am making this musicvideo with is about 00:07:32 in length, and (tough this detail may have no influence or meaning) the music is Symphonic Metal. The actual file of the song is 6,96 MB in size. This is also not the first time I've done such projects with such long songs on this same program either, one of my last videos I managed to successfully make and create a musicvideo with a song which was about 13 minutes and 30 seconds in length, and I also used effects on pretty much every videoclip on that project too.
The current filesize so far on the actual project.prel-file of my project that keeps crushing is 9.73 MB.
I am also using Adobe Premiere Elements and doing this troubleing, crashing project on a PC, a Fujitsu Windows (I believe Windows 7, or even updated to a newer version?). It has a regular ATI-card. The computer also has 2 modems and there's still some pretty GB amount free on them. The PC's main system also has a RAM in 6.00 GB and the operative system is the 64-bites.
In short, the PC should just fine be able to handle Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9 and all its projects, just as it has handled it all before plus all my PC games at that. So it must be something with my Adobe Premiere Elements and that specific project which is the problem, but what is the problem and the serious error and how to fix it?
Could it help to save and create the actual video in this crashing project, delete that project then start a new project, upload and put in the videofile of the crashing project in that new project and then continue from there?
In either cases, I need help with this. Please, help!

Thanks so much for your reply, Steve!
Even tough I trust you guys enough here on the official Adobe site/forums to answer those questions as best I can, I am at the same time not very fond of giving away too much information because of safety. I understand I have to If I'm to recieve the accurate answers and solution, but as this is the internet you can never know. But again, I trust you guys enough on here and thus I'll try to answer those questions as best I can, even tough I am not very good with such stuff about computers. The PC I am using is also not only mine, it is the family computer also which me and my whole family uses.
The operating system on my computer (according to the computer propotions etc) is a 64-bites operating system and the computer/PC is also a Windows 7 Home Premium.
The processor the computer/PC have is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU and the RAM is 6.00 GB. However, (and I hope I make this understandable because the computer/PC is in swedish)the subscore of RAM in the computer's Performance-Classification/Ranking is 7,5. The processor subscore is 7,3 per second. And the free space? Well, we have two modems, let's say a modem A and a modem B. Adobe Premiere Elements 0.9 is set to save all its stuff etc on modem B, while modem A is the main modem and spaces all main stuff and other things of the computer/PC. Modem A has about 314 GB of free space, while modem B has 207 GB of free space. Modem A's capacity is a total of 489 GB in which 175 GB has been used, the modems filesystem is a NTFS. Modem B is also a NTFS filesystem and its capacity is a total of 439 GB in which 232 GB has been used. And the Disk Cleanup? I believe my that latest ran it for about a few weeks ago. We also have a CCleaner also. But about the Disk Defragmenter, I have no idea. What exactly does a Disk Defragmenter do?
You mean, entering my project that keeps crushing and simply rename it by using "Save As"? If that is what you mean, I dunnow If that actually worked. When I still tried to do stuff and edit the crashing project (tough as said, it hardly took any changes and process before it triggered that message) and then crashed and shut down, and I opened up the program again (trying to open the same project that way), it asked me If I wanted to re-create the missing process from the last crash of the same project. I tried it and it automaticly was renamed to a for example Project.copy. But when I tried to work with that it was to no futher success, the project kept crashing. I haven't renamed the project by "Save As" tough, but I doubt it'll work, I even tried to rename the actual project file in the Adobe Premiere Elements files but nope... the project keeps crashing. But also about the same question, "Save As" under a new name but in its own folder? You mean the actual project folder or Adobe Premiere Elements preview folder of the projects?
My camcorder is pretty old by now, have had it since I turned 15, it has worked pretty good since then. Its model is a Sony Handycam, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar OPTICAL 20x. Even tough the last thing maybe doesn't say anything, this is all I know about my camcorder, except that it is a model no. DCR-HC17E PAL. But in that Project  which keeps crashing, there are only a few actual camcorder clips used as I am making a Game-MusicVideo and most of the footage of the Video-game (actually a PC game) I'm making a musicvideo of is downloaded from Youtube mostly from a guy I asked permission for to download his recorded footage of the game. I used a Youtube downloader called ClipConverter. As I don't have a SD card I cannot make this footage myself. But some footage I recorded on my camcorder, but If I can find high quality clips and get them, I will. The other footages is actual official trailers of the PC games which also was downloaded from the net. But I can give you the stuffs filetypes and hoping that may help. The downloaded footage which was downloaded by this ClipConverter, are MP4 files. The other stuff (which were official trailers) and most of them are also MP4 files, the others are QuickTime-film files. Many of these downloaded footages and trailers are also in HD quality, at least some of them I think.
The actual filetype ofthe footage I myself recorded with my camcorder are, well.... it says Videoclip in the file. Maybe it is AVI?
The project settings? You mean the settings you set at first when starting as a new project? The general settings are, in editingsettings it is AVCHD 270p square pixel. This is kinda hard for me to tell since everything is in swedish in my program. But these settings has worked perfectly before, same with all files, footages and videoclips I have been using, also all the soundfiles etc. Even the actual crashing project worked perfectly before it started crashing... So why does it so suddenly start crashing now?
The audio is a song I copied directly from its album and CD into the computer/PC and it seems to be in WMA format in filetype.
And lastly, no I haven't rendered the timeline of the project ever, not even on my other projects. What does the rendering do and is useful for? I have very little knowledge of it. Other, I keep the Timeline mode open all the time because I can edit my videos much better with it, but perhaps that editing method make little influence of the actual problem.
Other, yesterday when writing the post and topic, I forgot to mention that I restarded my computer right after I created a new project, that testing project. When finnished with the testing I restarted the computer. Since then I haven't touched the crashing project since now tonight, when checking its settings for this post. I am also right now trying to create and save the actual videofile of it, saving it on my computer. I'll soon see If it's successful without any crashing interruptions, plus that the video itself works and is smooth when I'll play it on Windows Media Player like all the rest of my other videos. I do this just in case I must create a new project to be able to continue with my musicvideo, as the first part of it I worked very hard on.
Other and again, I am still puzzled about why this is even happening, that this project which worked perfectly fine before, just suddenly starts triggering that "Serious Error" message and crashes. And in this program which worked so perfect before. Has this happened to anyone else before? Has anyone else experienced the same issue I have? Is this a knowledgable issue which has solutions and ways to fix it?... :/

  • No audio on Timeline Premiere Elements 13 and no longer on 12 after upgrading to 13.

On my Mac with OS X Yosemite I've worked with Premiere Elements 12 for a while and it just worked fine. Now I;ve upgraded to Elements 13 and the clips that were fine the other day have now lost there audio when I put them on the Timeline. However if I double click the clip in project assets and play it on the clip monitor everything is fine, but as soon as I send it to the timeline or storyboard the audio disappears. I'm in a spot now as I can't use 13 and neither return to Elements 12. Any ideas will be very much apprexiated.

    Ted
    Momentary detour.....
Could we go over the path
Just a week ago I created a movie with Elements 12 on this same Mac with OS X Yosemite and ij
just worked fine. On second thoughts the movie was a bit too long, so I
imported the saved project to re-edit it, only to find out that the audio
had gone for the greater part of the clips on the timeline. I closed
elements 13 and reopened 12 and the saved project with the same result.
When you got to second thoughts, what did you do....
    a. rebuild the project anew in Premiere Elements 13?
    b. import the Premiere Elements 12 export in Premiere Elements 13?
    c. open the Premiere Elements 12 project in Premiere Elements 13?
I ask since you cannot import one project file into another and you wrote "imported the saved project".
You wrote after the file was drag from Premiere Elements 13 Project Assets to Timeline
only to find out that the audio had gone for the greater part of the clips on the timeline.
What was gone - the representation of the whole audio clip on the audio track or just the sound
for the whole? Was the duration of the clip listed in Project Assets, the same as observed at
    its Timeline level?
If you took this Premiere Elements 13 Timeline (problem audio there) to export, was there sound in the export?
If you create a project in an earlier version, it is often possible to open it in a later version to work with the project in the later version.
But, you cannot open the later version edited project in the earlier project again. So, I was not sure what you were describing when
    you wrote
I closed elements 13 and reopened 12 and the saved project with the same result.
    What saved project?
    Premiere Elements 13 Audio
Please consider deleting the Media Cache Files Folder where the program saves the automatically generated conformed audio.
To locate that Folder, on Windows I could go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks/Media Cache to find location for the Media Cache Files Folder. Is that the
    same for Mac?
Also, please let us know if the flawed Premiere Elements 13 Timeline audio content exports OK or contains the flaws encountered before export.
Again, please excuse if I have included things that you were already aware of. Because of the nature of your issue, I did not want to take anything for grant.

  • Premiere Elements 11 shut down while starting; without error message

    hello everybody,
pe11 worked well at my Laptop.
Since a week it always shut down while starting it.
    No error message!
I already reinstalled it, tried to start with admin rights, but it doesn't work.
    Thanks for your answers!

Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Before a week ago, how long had you been working with Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 7 64 bit without problems?
Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on that computer with Premiere Elements 11?
Any new programs, 3rd party plug-ins and codecs, installed?
Where are the Scratch Disks directed and how much free space is at those designated locations? Any pile ups
of preview files in the Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files Folder or conformed audio files in the Media Cache
    Files Folder.
Let us get the classic deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file out of the way.

  • Text Save Style in Premiere Elements 13 Mac

I can't save styles for text in Premiere Elements 13 on my Mac. I can make one, only one, but it won't save the name and lately it hasn't even saved the style. What should I do to fix that?

Are you working in the Expert workspace or the Quick workspace of the program?
Adobe has just released the 13.1 Update for version 13. Have you downloaded and installed it? If not, don't right now.
Please do this mini test first in a new project...
    1. Open the Titler with Text Menu/New/Default Text
    2. In the Text Section of the Titler create your text, apply a style to it from the Styles Section of the Titler, and save
the text style in the Style Section of the Titler.
If that is what you have been doing, then update from 13 to 13.1 And, repeat the mini test run. Do you have the same problem
in 13.1 as you did in 13?
If so, go to the Quick workspace, and repeat the mini test run there. Do you have the same problems in the Quick workspace as
you did in the Expert workspace?
If that does not help the situation, then please delete the Premiere Elements 13/13.1 setting file which should be found

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Error 6

I've uninstalled and then reinstalled, and this is the second time it's happened. This pop-up occurs when I try and open any project or attempt to start the program. After I reinstalled the first time last night, it worked fine after opening the program only 4 or 5 times, and then it gave me the error again. I've searched everywhere and can't find an easy fix for this, or maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I don't know if it's even worth it to mess with a customer support, the thought just terrifies me...
    Computer Specs:
    NVIDIA NVS 5200M - version 320.86
    Windows 7
    Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-3720QM CPU @ 2.60 GHZ
    8.00 GB RAM
    64 bit OS
Any help would be much appreciated, I'm no computer wiz but I hope some of you are!

Typically Adobe supports only the current version (which is 12)/purchased/registered. But someone reported just the other day that Adobe was supporting 11 and 12. But you have 10....
How would you class your issue "It worked before but not now" or "it never worked before"?
Typically those Exit 6 or 7 error messages are associated with installations that end with errors. I am assuming the your Error 6 is the Exit 6 Error code.
Is your NVIDIA card = NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M? If so, my first instinct would be to point you in the direction of the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce issue detailed with fix at the top of this forum. The fix being the roll back of the driver version to about May 2013.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver roll back can be found
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2014/02/pe10-nvidia-video-card-roll-back.html
But if your details are correct, driver version 320.86, you are working with an old driver anyway. But, you might want to roll the
driver version back a few dates beyond that one to rule in or out any involvement in the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce issue.
If you rule out the video card driver version, we could look at deleting the Premiere Elements 10 Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and
the whole 10.0 Folder in which it exists.
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    10.0
and in the 10.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 10.0 Folder
in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and
Drives active so that you can see the complete path.
Also, determine if the problem exists with or without the antivirus disabled.
Let us go through the above and determine where we stand after that. Please do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything that I have
written. I will rewrite if necessary.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere elements 9 workspace will not load up after reinstalling the software

i have been using premiere elements 9 on my laptop for a few years.    recently, I took my laptop into the local computer store to have it cleaned up due to virus', they backed up all my data, and left me with nothing but my windows 7 and my backed up files (which is what I expected and asked for).    After re-installing my Adobe Photoshop elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9, I cannot use the premiere elements 9 program.    it only gets so far before closing.    After clicking the premiere elements 9 icon, I am taken to the "Organize, Open project, New Project screen".    upon selecting Open Project or New Project, it goes to the Premiere elements panel....that's it.    I cannot open a workspace, tasks etc.....   .    If I try to open an old project (file>open>.....) nothing happens.   nothing loads.    same with file>new>......     if I keep trying , I get the message 'Premiere Elements has encountered an error and will close'
my Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 works just fine.   came in the same package.
I have uninstalled premiere elements 9 twice now, and reinstalled it, same thing happens.
losing my mind a bit, as creating video is a hobby (youtube etc....) and I'm at a stand still.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 problem set in after the installs of any one of the programs installed, then you should rule that factor in or out for each systematically. Each would be a prime candidate for troubleshooting exploration.
But, before you do that, let us try deleting the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 settings file. In Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, it can be found in the path
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements Folder
    9.0 Folder
and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not correct the problem, then deleted the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
    IMPORTANT
    a. Make sure you are working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so you can see the complete path.
    b. Do not detour or get lured into a Premiere Elements 9.0 Folder instead of the Premiere Elements Folder/then 9.0 Folder.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.
