Filter ViewObject using bindings in ADF

Hi All,
Jdeveloper Version : Oracle Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
We are Creating 2 View Objects 1) DeptVO and 2) EmpVO . Dept VO : Select Depno,Dname From Dept, and we created Deptno as LOV  and Emp  VO : Select Empno From EMP Where Deptno = :P_Deptno
When we Drag and Drop Dept VO(Deptno) From Data Control to JSP Page we Created as ADF Select One Choice.
and for Emp VO(Empno) from DC to JSP Page as ADF Select One Choice.
Our requirement is Emp VO  contains list of Empno associated to Deptno we selected.
for example : Deptno 10 :   7782,7839 AND 7934.
                    Deptno 20 :   7369,7566,7788 etc..
this is we achieved through Backing Bean. but is there any other option we filter EmpVO through Bindings without writing Backing Bean.
Thanks,
kmr.

Hi
Excuse me,My English isn't very good.
you can set bind variable through EL, you should add Depno from Dept VO to the page binding and then set it to the bind variable
but After you choose Deptno you should run the second View Obj(Emp VO) through bean.

  • Binding ADF UI components to managed beans instead of using bindings

    Hi All,
    We are working on a ADF based development project and we have complex data input forms.
    We have close to 200 input forms for different products and each form has different details.
    Requirement is to store the data captured in the input forms as XML in database instead of storing the information in relational tables to avoid creating tables for each of the 200 products.
    We are planning to capture user input in page flow scoped managed beans and when user save the data, generate the XML from managed bean data and store the XML string in DB using ADF BC.
    So we would develop the UI more like a normal J2ee application using JSF where managed beans are used to collect data, and then use ADF BC for database persistence.
    Is it a good practice to bind the managed beans to UI bypassing the bindings? (We can't use bindings as we store data in XML format).

    Hi Alex,
    That is not the right way to get the component, #{it1} is not valid.
    Here is the sample code to get the component by id, but is not recommended as you should know the parent component ids as well and it would be difficult to maintain in long run:
            FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            context.getViewRoot().findComponent("<id>")What is your exact usecase?
    Any specific reason for not using binding property?

  • Problem while using clientAttribute inside adf tree

    Hi,
    I have created a adf multi level tree menu from a VO using bindings.The code snippet is as follows:
    <af:tree value="#{bindings.ParentVO2.treeModel}" var="node"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.ParentVO2.treeModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:commandLink text="#{node}" clientComponent="true" id="gl1">
    *<af:clientAttribute name="formName" value="#{node}"/>*
    <af:clientListener method="openForm" type="click"/>
    </af:commandLink>
    </f:facet>
    </af:tree>
    When I use the clientAttribute component, I get an error "+The content of this page failed to load because data transmission was interrupted....+" and the menu doesn't load.
    If I remove the clientAttribute code(marked in bold above) then the page loads successfully with the menu.
    But I need a way to capture the value of each node in the Javascript function.How can I achieve this?Is there a workaround?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    not sure if coincidence or the same question, but the same question got asked internally. The seeded option is required to get the OJSP filter installed. Here's the internal response
    ADF View integration with MDS not configured
    In web.xml, you need to have mds-ojsp intg enabled to load jspx base + customizations from MDS. In your web project in Jdev, go to ADFv project properties and select “Seeded customization” property. It would enable mds-jsp engine configuration in web.xml. If you want to use user personalization feature at runtime, you would need to select “User customization” property as well which would enable ADFv change persistence config in web.xml.
    Warning: Some of the metadata under ... is packaged as part of both WAR and MAR. This metadata cannot be accessed from WAR using MDS.
    For these two packages, you are including the files in both WAR & MAR. This warning conveys that since these base files are being put in MAR, at runtime they would be read from mds repository & not from WAR.

    It seems that problem is caused by af:query or quickquery component(or underlying view object or view criteria).
    Maybe you can drop BTF as static region directly to your page and see if this will run correctly?
    YES i have try stll does not work
    So then this is not related with "npe when using popup inside adf table column"

  • Anyone using facelets with ADF Faces and myfaces implementation?

    There is a Howto document for using facelets with ADF Faces, but it assumes you're using Sun's RI. I'd like to use the Apache myfaces implementation of JSF with ADF and facelets, but I keep getting a NoSuchElementException thrown when the pages are accessed.

    It doesn't seem to matter whether I use <jsp:root xmlns..> tags or <html xmlns ..> tags or whether I use the facelet ui tags or not. I've tried it with several of the ADF components. I always get the pretty facelets exception at the bottom of the page after the ADF component displays.
    Am I missing something? Has anyone gotten these three (ADF w/ myfaces impl and facelets) to work together properly?

    Hi,
    It is supposed to work fine and is working okay, in general, for me. I was setting up a test app yesterday and logged the steps in my blog (http://www.jroller.com/page/mjdenham). I think I logged everything.

  • How do I find out where the missing filter is used?

    After upgrade, Premiere CS4 is complaining missing filter upon opening a CS3 project.  How do I find out where the filter is used?
    Thanks!

    When I have opened older Projects in later versions, I have gotten a very useful dialog screen, telling me of missing Transitions (exact name and TimeCode), and of missing Effects. Do you not get such?
    When you Open the CS3 Project, is any Clip flagged?
    Considering how well PrPro has picked up on missing 3rd party stuff, I would be surprised, that it did not give you all of the necessary info.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Do I need to use Bindings?

    Hi All
    I wonder if you can help
    I have a class (driver.m) that takes an input from a USB device (the callback function is embedded into the class and passes data back to the instance of the class).
    There are a number of instance variables that change depending on the incoming data.
    say
    int analog1;
    How do I monitor the data coming into that class in a cocoa window.
    For instance analog1 has constantly changing data as a int value 0-255 which I wish to view in a NSLevelindicator.
    Should I be using bindings for this type of thing as most of the bindings demos seem to be on cocoa elements changing cocoa elements.
    If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it
    Cheers
    Steve

    So if you take the following:
    @interface Driver : NSObject
        int driverValue;
    @property (readwrite, assign) int driverValue;
    @end
    @implementation Driver
    @synthesize driverValue;
    @end
    Then elseware
        Driver *instance1 = [[Driver alloc] init];
        Driver *instance2 = [[Driver alloc] init];
    I should be able to set up a slider for the driverValue of instance1 and a separate slider for driverValue of instance2?
    Beacuse in interface builder when I create an object (blue qube) I can set the class to Driver and I can set the bind to driverValue. But I can't see were I tell IB which instance this is belonging to. So even if I do a second object (blue qube) I can only duplicate what I have already done I can't see were I assign one (blue qube) to instance1 and the other to instance2.

    It is still not clear if your have to use SSO - the scripts loadsdk.sql and regapp.sql specifically are for Oracle Single Sign ON (OSSO) - the authentication schemes referred to on page 20 of the same doc do not require SSO. So, is SSO a requirement in your scenario ? If not, you should be following the steps in the section titled "Confuguring Custom Authentication" (beginning of page 20).Ouch..Sorry Srini, I have completely misinterpreted by the page no.'s in Adobe pdf reader.I was telling you about page 18 of the document.
    Anyway i'll start with configuring Custom Authentication as by your suggestion.
    But i'll move forward with no understandings about SSO and its implementations.
    All I could get is this links
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_security_sso.htm
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15523_01/install.1111/e12002/sso_das.htm
    Is this link correct to start learning about SSO or do I need to learn anything (LDAP,OAM,etc..) before that ?
