Filtering in the Report

Hai Pals
I have a situation here i have to filter the values for one
characteristis value .i want to display all the values othre than
that for that characteristic value .
     Here is my scenario i have stock types A B C D E F and i want
to filter the values for C(i dont want values for C).
One solution can be that i can restrict the query for the
values A B D E F but  here there is a possibility the stock types
will increase so i can not restrict because by resticting i wont
get the desired results .
other idea i am thinking i know this is the hard way of doing
things ceate a variable for stock type with processing type as
customer exit and write the exit.
is there any other way of doing it easy?
Guide me how i can go about this scenario .
      Any ideas will be rewarded.
Cheers..........
Rgds,
Ravindra.

Hai Mike and Shasi
Thanks for your quick replies. first i want to try what Shasi had suggested because it seems to be easier.
u said restrict and right click the value and exclude from selection but i dont find any exclude in the context window .
here r the steps i followed
    1. keep the stock type in the filter and retricted with the type C
    2. and right click on the value but it not showing
pls tell me what r the steps to follow.
i think i am missing some
       thanks in advance.

  • Error while generating the report in BI using CRM

    dear experts...   .  / friends  ...
i have created a query long back called SERVICE REQUEST using Query designer
using that particular query i have generating the reports from MAY 1 to till date
in my report i have a characteristics called USER STATUS , for this user status i can restrict the below values i.e
    open
    reopen
    waiting
    in - transfer
    resolved
    new
    completed
in the above values , i want to get the transaction numbers which are not completed i.e. i need to exclude complete
and i need to include all the above values
but after generating the report , am getting completed records too...
and in the report  i saw for that completed record i have OPEN DOCUMENTS(key figures)  and NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS(key figures) is 0
actually if we see any updated record for the particular report the key figure NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS should be 1 right?
so in my scenario if NO.OF DOCUMENT HEADERS getting 0 so the filter condition for COMPLETED , is not working
so that the reason  even though i have filtered the COMPLETED value for the USER STATUS field , am getting those
    fields....
so friends kindly help me in this regard to avoid completed value for the filed USER STATUS..

    dear experts,
for the above issue i have raised the OSS message and i got the below reply as well..
they told me to create a pre queris can any one help me in this regard?
    =>
=> If you want to ensure that all completed transactions are filtered
from the report even when keyfigure "open documents" <> 0 then
you have to adjust your query definitions, e.g. by means of
pre-queries to create a list of records for which a "completed"
    state-entry exists.

  • Dynamics CRM usage of CRMAF_ filters in sub reports

Have a main SSRS report which uses CRM pre filtering via the "CRMAF_" prefix, this report calls a sub report which needs to use the same pre filtering as selected and applied via the main report.
The sub report is a summary total presenting the information in a different order than the main report but needs to run over the same dataset that the main report did.
Would like to see a worked example of how this can be achieved ?

I'm thinking I may just have to go with two seperate reports that both use the same CRMAF pre filtering.
The advantage of using the automatic pre-filtering is when the report is deployed I assign the related record type and can then run it over 'selected records' from the list screen.
With the explicit pre-filtering when the report is deployed I can assign the related record type but then it can only be run over 'all records' from the list screen.
So with explicit pre filtering I loose the ability to run the report over a selected subset of the related records.
Looks easier to create two seperate reports (rather than a main and a subreport), the user can choose the records to report on from the related list and then just run the two reports after each other.
    Thanks for your help guys.

  • How to add prompt before running the report in ssrs such that it generates a report bases on the input having different parameters as filters ?

    Hi,
I would like to give a prompt in SSSRS report so that report is generated based on the prompt (no default
value is taken)and the generated report should have different parameters as filters (except the initial prompt parameter).
    Thanks & Regards,

    Thank Santosh for responding.
I was looking for similar thing but I want to navigate to another report when view report is clicked on the report and pass my parameters from initial report.

  • Analytics report filtered on the current record id in a Siebel view

Is it possible to have an analytics report integrated in a siebel view and for which the data would be filtered on the current record of this view, eg the current Account Id ?
    How to do that ?

I found out the answer :

"how to embed OBI requests in Siebel Business Application views, so that navigating among the records in the parent applet updates the child Analytics applet with context-appropriate content"

  • Validity of the filters in open reports

I have a report in which I implemented a filter, in order to show only records where the "expiration_Date" (which is a datetime column in the data object) is before than the current system date (using the "now()" function).
So far so good, the filter works perfectly. But if I keep the report opened in Active Viewer, and meanwhile the current system date becomes greater than the expiration date, the report doesnt' get updated, I have to manually click the "refresh" button in order to reflect the change. But in my opinion the report should have refreshed itself.
Does Oracle BAM periodically check for the validity of the filters in a open report, like it does with updates on data objects?

No, all filters are static except 3 with these comparison conditions "is with in a time interval", "is with in a time period", "is with in the current time period" used with "Active Now" option. These filter conditions provide sliding time window based updating itself automatically and periodically based on the interval given in Active Now Interval text box.
So, for your case, using "is with in a time interval" condition should work like this:
"expiration_date" "is with in a time interval" "previous" "4" weeks. Check Active Now box and you could leave the default of 60 seconds for Active Now Interval.
You can change "4" and "weeks" to reflect the range of your data. So, what this condition will do is show you all records in the last 4 weeks whose expiration_date is less than "now"; every 60 seconds, "now" will get updated automatically to the current time, there by making your previous 4 weeks to start from then on, thus removing those older records which don't satisfy this condition.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can DrillFilters() show "None" when no filters are applied to the report?

    Hi everyone,
On top of my report I've got a pre-defined Drill Filter cell (in case the report is printed and the filter bar and the filters applied are not visible anymore). I modified the cell a bit and it looks liek this now: ="Applied filters: " + DrillFilters()
Can I somehow make it show "Applied filters: None" if the report is now filtered?
Using latest Webi with all patches.
    Thanks,
    Galin

Perfect! Thank you very much, Thangaraj!
I modified it a bit so I don't have to enter every single Drill Object (=Dimension)
=If Length(DrillFilters())=0 Then "Applied Filters: None" Else "Applied Filters: " + DrillFilters()

  • "Failed to open the connection" problem related to multiple tables in the report?

    Post Author: Gadow
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    System specifics:
Web environment using ASP.Net 2.0 (from Visual Studio 2005 Professional)
    Crystal Reports 2008, v. 12.0.0.549, Full
We have set up the following method for displaying reports via our website:
User is sent to a report-specific page. The user is given some filtering options specific to the report that will be viewed. When the user has specified the data filters, the user clicks a button.
The page wraps up the report parameters -- selection query, formula values, report location, the name to be displayed, etc. -- into a class which gets put into the Session object.
The page redirects to DisplayReport.aspx. ALL reports redirect to this page.
DisplayReport.aspx retrieves the report parameters from Session. A ReportDocument object is created and loaded, then set with the data from the parameters class.
A ConnectionInfo object is created and set with the relevant log on credentials. All of the reports draw from the same database, so the connection information is hard-coded as the same for all reports. The page then iterates through all of the tables in the Database.Tables collection of the ReportDocument and calls ApplyLogOnInfo to each table using the ConnectionInfo object.
The page is rendered and the user gets the filtered report.
We currently have seven reports. Five reports work fine and display the correctly filtered data with no error messages. Two reports generate a Failed to open the connection error and do not display. I have verified that the queries being sent to DisplayReport.aspx are valid, and as I said the connection information itself is hard-coded in the one page that displays the reports and this is identical to all reports.
The five reports that do work all have a single data table, either an actual database table or a single view. The two reports that do not work all have multiple tables. As far as I can tell, this is the only difference between the sets; all seven reports are based on the same DSN and I have verified the database on all of the reports. All of the reports were written using Crystal Reports 8, and all of the reports display fine in a Windows app I wrote some years ago using Crystal Reports 8. Again, the only difference between those reports that do work and those that do not is the number of tables used in the report: one table or view in the reports that display, more than one table (tables only, none use views) in the reports that do not display.
As for the code I am using, below are the relevant methods. The function MakeConnectionInfo simply parses out the components of a standard SQL connection string into a ConnectionInfo object. DisplayedReport is the ID of the CrystalReportViewer on the page.Protected Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
            Dim o As Object = Session("ReportParams")
Dim ReportURL As String = ""
'Verify that there is a ReportParameters object
If o Is Nothing OrElse o.GetType IsNot GetType(ReportParameters) Then 'Redirect to the error page
                Response.Redirect("/errors/MissingReport.aspx")
            End If
            ReportParams = CType(o, ReportParameters)
            'Verify that the report exists
            ReportURL = "/Reports/ReportFiles/" + ReportParams.ReportName
            ReportPath = Server.MapPath(ReportURL)
            If Not File.Exists(ReportPath) Then
                Response.Redirect("/errors/MissingReport.aspx?Report=" + ReportParams.ReportTitle)

                    Select Case FFD.ValueType

                            End If
                        Case FieldValueType.StringField
                            FFD.Text = String.Format("""""", kvp.Value)
                        Case Else
'For now, treat these as if they were strings. If things blow up here,
'we will need to add the appropriate formatting for the field type.
                            FFD.Text = String.Format("""""", kvp.Value)
                    End Select
                End If
            Next
            For Each T As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table In RD.Database.Tables
Dim TLI As TableLogOnInfo = T.LogOnInfo
                TLI.ConnectionInfo = CI
                T.ApplyLogOnInfo(TLI)
            Next
            DisplayedReport.ReportSource = RD
        End Sub
Does this approach not work with reports containing multiple tables, or is there something I'm missing? Any meaningful suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Unable to see data in the report or workbook

    Hello All,
We are struggling to display data in the report level or workbook, however the data is available in Multiprovider.
Error Message: "No Applicable Data Found"
    Steps Carried Out:
    1. Dropped the BIA Indexes for relevant cubes and Reactivated the Multiprovider, still did not work.
    2. When we checked for previous years like 2013, we are able to see data in the report.  To elaborate an issue, we loaded budget data for year 2015 as requested by user.  Restricted the same filters from the Query in the Multiprovider and able to see the data in the backend, however not data can be seen in the Report.
    3. Three Hierarchies are restricted in the Filters of the Query.
It would be great, if any of you can help us to fix the issue.
    Best Regards,
    Sudhakar

    Hi,
    Have you used any exists?
in exists is there any system date kind?
Can you try to run your report thru RSRT and use debug option there.
before reporting please check your all connected targets have data for reporting.
mean at targets-->request tab, reporting symbol was there or not.
Any master data objects included in multi provider?
if yes then please check those, if any ACR was running then it may cause you.
if possible try to develop simple query with as per needs(mean to see 2015 data only).
As my guess selections/filters migth be hidden, please check those.
    Thanks

  • Displaying the list of values in the Report

    Hi All,
Is there any possibility to include the scrollable list on the face of report(Not in the left side i.e as input control)
For example If I have a country with different counties.
Based on the country selection in the block it should display the list of counties as scrollable list.
    Would it be possible.
    Please help
    thanks

Not sure if you are looking for the same..
Have you tried applying the filter at the filter pane..i.e.
Click on the the show\hide filter pane (filter icon is present nearby the drill icon)
Now drag the required object on this pane.
It will create the dropdown filters on top of the report.

  • Performance problem with Filters of Crystal Report

    Hi,
I have been facing this problem for a month now.
Whenever I try to run a Crystal Report from Infoview it takes 5min or more to get the prompts screen
but sometimes(mostly when i restart all servers) the filter screen appears real quick say 5 to 10 secs(is this quick?)
I have no idea why this is happening! Is there an issue with the servers? or is this problem related to Crystal report?
Please help. I tried googling for this problem but could not find anything that would help.
    Thanks
    Nilesh

I am using a universe which uses a DSN to connect to the sql2k5 database. One thing I forgot to mention is that this is a clustered environment(with 2 servers) and the input/output file repository is set to a folder on a third server.
Note: Even though the report filters take time to pop up, but the report runs very fast; doesnt take more than 5 seconds for a fairly complex report.
Yesterday I did a trial install on a seperate server and the reports filters come up pretty fast.

  • Hiding Filters in a Report

    Hi,
How to hide the filters and those restriction which are within the RKFs from the report. I see the option to display text elements General, Filters and Variables. But I do not know how to hide it. By default the reports are showing the filters. Is there a setting to be made on front-end or something I need to define in query definition.
    Thanks,
    Ace

    Ace,
I don't think that there is a setting whereby it can be removed from the initial run of a query in a new workbook.
Best option would be to try out the user exit in BEx Analyzer.
