Filters in PHP

Hello
I have a page with an already URL variable, and then the page
shows records with that variable.
How can i create filters for that information??
ex: family products and than show for ascending price, or
descending price, or by Brand, by producer, etc.
Should i use a jump menu, with a recordset apllied to it??
Many thanks
Nuno

Nice work

  • Php mySQL filtering problem...really desperate

    Hi
    I have a live site that is currently causing me some issues
    It is a fashion site that sends the product information that is pulled in from sevaral table to the checkout.. the issue i am having is the incorrect stock id is being sent to the checkout so when it returns from the gateway it is updating the wrong stock levels.
    What is happening currently is the stockID from the first size is being sent.
    what i have is the following tables
    table 1 - beauSS13_products
    ProductID
    CatID
    table 2 - beauSS13_Cat
    catID
    table3 - beauSS13_Stock
    StockID
    ID (this was named like this incorrectly) but this joins with ProductID
    SizeID
    Stock
    beauSS13_SizeList
    SizeID
    Size
    the SQL is
    $var1_rsProduct = "-1";
    if (isset($_GET['ProductID'])) {
      $var1_rsProduct = $_GET['ProductID'];
    mysql_select_db($database_beau, $beau);
    $query_rsProduct = sprintf("SELECT * FROM beauSS13_Cat, beauSS13_products, beauSS13_Stock, beauSS13_SizeList WHERE beauSS13_products.CatID = beauSS13_Cat.catID AND beauSS13_products.ProductID = beauSS13_Stock.ID AND beauSS13_Stock.SizeID = beauSS13_SizeList.SizeID AND beauSS13_products.ProductID = %s AND beauSS13_Stock.Stock != 0 ", GetSQLValueString($var1_rsProduct, "int"));
    i think beauSS13_products.ProductID = beauSS13_Stock.ID shouldnt be there ( but am not sure what it should have )
    I need to identify the Unique Stock ID from table3 - beauSS13_Stock
    basically cant get my head round the logic...
    if i remove beauSS13_products.ProductID = beauSS13_Stock.ID
    then in the
    select list
    <select name="SelectSize" id="SelectSize">
            <option value="Select Size">Select Size</option>
            <?php
    do {
    ?>
            <option value="<?php echo $row_rsProduct['Size']?>"><?php echo $row_rsProduct['Size']?></option>
            <?php
    } while ($row_rsProduct = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsProduct));
      $rows = mysql_num_rows($rsProduct);
      if($rows > 0) {
          mysql_data_seek($rsProduct, 0);
                $row_rsProduct = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsProduct);
    ?>
          </select>
    it outputs all sizes from the ProductID and not just from the selected item
    i have just tried
          <select name="SelectSize" id="SelectSize">
            <option value="Select Size">Select Size</option>
            <?php
    do {
    ?>
            <option value="<?php echo $row_rsProduct['Size']?>"><?php echo $row_rsProduct['Size']?><?php echo $row_rsProduct['StockID']; ?></option>
            <?php
    } while ($row_rsProduct = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsProduct));
      $rows = mysql_num_rows($rsProduct);
      if($rows > 0) {
          mysql_data_seek($rsProduct, 0);
                $row_rsProduct = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsProduct);
    ?>
          </select>
    and adding <?php echo $row_rsProduct['StockID']; ?>
    i can see the correct StockID is showing in the size menu but i just need to get that to send to cart
    this is the code that sends the details to the cart

    because it was looking for the specific record, but having added <?php echo $row_rsProduct['StockID']; ?> to the select list it needs to be there

    yes that is the way the joins are meant to be

  • PHP Form Filtering

    Hey Guys,
    I'm curious as to some of the best solutions to help filter out spamming through a php form.  Should I add captcha?  Is there another way?  I want to be able to filter out the erroneous requests or advertising of selling email lists from the real customers trying to fill out the form.
    Thanks for the help!

    That's what I was more or less looking for; options.  I looked at recaptcha.net and that seems like a viable option.  I don't mind if users have to enter captcha characters.  I'm assuming that filter class is a way to do it without captcha characters.  It sounds like it's mainly coding on the server side that I would have to implement?

  • Advance filtering with Dreamweaver cs4, PHP and mysql

    Here is the problem:
    This is my query which gives me back no data.
    SELECT *
    FROM photos
    WHERE photoTypeID LIKE cat
    ORDER BY photoID DESC
    variable = cat
    Type = integer
    default value= -1
    run time value = $_POST['cat']
    If I change the default value to "%" I get all the data in the Test SQL statement window but then I get a DIVISION BY ZERO on my page.

    When using LIKE, you must set the type to "Text". LIKE matches strings. It cannot be used with numbers.

  • Apache + php blank page (again)

    Hey, i got problems with php and apache, its just that when i have PHP enabled, apache aint serving me anything, i checked permissions, triple checked all my configs and i still cant find the mistake, i also searched this board but nothing helped me, below youll find my php.ini and httpd.conf, thanks in advance
    PS: my dir for files is /data/www
    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; This file controls many aspects of PHP's behavior. In order for PHP to
    ; read it, it must be named 'php.ini'. PHP looks for it in the current
    ; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
    ; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).
    ; The path in which the php.ini file is looked for can be overridden using
    ; the -c argument in command line mode.
    ; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
    ; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
    ; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
    ; they might mean something in the future.
    ; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
    ; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
    ; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), or a quoted string ("foo").
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = none ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "none" ; sets foo to the string 'none'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; This is the recommended, PHP 5-style version of the php.ini-dist file. It
    ; sets some non standard settings, that make PHP more efficient, more secure,
    ; and encourage cleaner coding.
    ; The price is that with these settings, PHP may be incompatible with some
    ; applications, and sometimes, more difficult to develop with. Using this
    ; file is warmly recommended for production sites. As all of the changes from
    ; the standard settings are thoroughly documented, you can go over each one,
    ; and decide whether you want to use it or not.
    ; For general information about the php.ini file, please consult the php.ini-dist
    ; file, included in your PHP distribution.
    ; This file is different from the php.ini-dist file in the fact that it features
    ; different values for several directives, in order to improve performance, while
    ; possibly breaking compatibility with the standard out-of-the-box behavior of
    ; PHP. Please make sure you read what's different, and modify your scripts
    ; accordingly, if you decide to use this file instead.
    ; - register_long_arrays = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the older (and deprecated) long predefined array
    ; variables ($HTTP_*_VARS). Instead, use the superglobals that were
    ; introduced in PHP 4.1.0
    ; - display_errors = Off [Security]
    ; With this directive set to off, errors that occur during the execution of
    ; scripts will no longer be displayed as a part of the script output, and thus,
    ; will no longer be exposed to remote users. With some errors, the error message
    ; content may expose information about your script, web server, or database
    ; server that may be exploitable for hacking. Production sites should have this
    ; directive set to off.
    ; - log_errors = On [Security]
    ; This directive complements the above one. Any errors that occur during the
    ; execution of your script will be logged (typically, to your server's error log,
    ; but can be configured in several ways). Along with setting display_errors to off,
    ; this setup gives you the ability to fully understand what may have gone wrong,
    ; without exposing any sensitive information to remote users.
    ; - output_buffering = 4096 [Performance]
    ; Set a 4KB output buffer. Enabling output buffering typically results in less
    ; writes, and sometimes less packets sent on the wire, which can often lead to
    ; better performance. The gain this directive actually yields greatly depends
    ; on which Web server you're working with, and what kind of scripts you're using.
    ; - register_argc_argv = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the somewhat redundant $argv and $argc global
    ; variables.
    ; - magic_quotes_gpc = Off [Performance]
    ; Input data is no longer escaped with slashes so that it can be sent into
    ; SQL databases without further manipulation. Instead, you should use the
    ; database vendor specific escape string function on each input element you
    ; wish to send to a database.
    ; - variables_order = "GPCS" [Performance]
    ; The environment variables are not hashed into the $_ENV. To access
    ; environment variables, you can use getenv() instead.
    ; - error_reporting = E_ALL [Code Cleanliness, Security(?)]
    ; By default, PHP suppresses errors of type E_NOTICE. These error messages
    ; are emitted for non-critical errors, but that could be a symptom of a bigger
    ; problem. Most notably, this will cause error messages about the use
    ; of uninitialized variables to be displayed.
    ; - allow_call_time_pass_reference = Off [Code cleanliness]
    ; It's not possible to decide to force a variable to be passed by reference
    ; when calling a function. The PHP 4 style to do this is by making the
    ; function require the relevant argument by reference.
    ; - short_open_tag = Off [Portability]
    ; Using short tags is discouraged when developing code meant for redistribution
    ; since short tags may not be supported on the target server.
    ; Language Options ;

    ; libraries that are meant for redistribution, or deployment on PHP
    ; servers which are not under your control, because short tags may not
    ; be supported on the target server. For portable, redistributable code,

    ; Output buffering allows you to send header lines (including cookies) even
    ; after you send body content, at the price of slowing PHP's output layer a
    ; bit. You can enable output buffering during runtime by calling the output
    ; buffering functions. You can also enable output buffering for all files by
    ; setting this directive to On. If you wish to limit the size of the buffer
    ; to a certain size - you can use a maximum number of bytes instead of 'On', as
    ; a value for this directive (e.g., output_buffering=4096).
    output_buffering = 4096
    ; You can redirect all of the output of your scripts to a function. For
    ; example, if you set output_handler to "mb_output_handler", character
    ; encoding will be transparently converted to the specified encoding.
    ; Setting any output handler automatically turns on output buffering.
    ; Note: People who wrote portable scripts should not depend on this ini
    ; directive. Instead, explicitly set the output handler using ob_start().
    ; Using this ini directive may cause problems unless you know what script
    ; is doing.
    ; Note: You cannot use both "mb_output_handler" with "ob_iconv_handler"
    ; and you cannot use both "ob_gzhandler" and "zlib.output_compression".
    ; Note: output_handler must be empty if this is set 'On' !!!!

    ; outputs chunks that are few hundreds bytes each as a result of
    ; compression. If you prefer a larger chunk size for better
    ; performance, enable output_buffering in addition.
    ; Note: You need to use zlib.output_handler instead of the standard
    ; output_handler, or otherwise the output will be corrupted.
    zlib.output_compression = Off
    ;zlib.output_compression_level = -1

  • Configuring PHP on Windows 2012 r2 server - PHP won't work

    Hi
    I was asked to migrate all apps from a win 2003 server to a win 2012 r2.  From a clean install I made sure that all windows updates are done, made sure windows authentication is enabled then went through the web platform installer adding php 5.6.
    In the web platform installer the following are installed:
    php 5.6.0
    Windows Powershell 3.0
    php 5.3.28 (installed automatically with 5.6)
    .net 3.5 for Windows 8
    IIS .net extensibility 4.5
    .net 4.5 for Windows 8
    IIS Application Initialization
    IIS ASP.NET 4.5
    PHP Manager for IIS
    IIS CGI
    IIS ISAPI Filters
    IIS ISAPI Extensons
    IIS ASP
    IIS .NET Extensibility
    IIS ASP.NET
    Under handler mappings,  PHP_vis_FastCGI and PHP53_via_FastCGI with a path of *.php are enabled using the FastCgiModule each with full permissions (read, script, execute).
    My account is an admin on the box.
    I created a simple php file that contains the following code
    <?
    phpinfo();
    ?>
    When I open it in a browser I get
    HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error
    C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\v5.6\php-cgi.exe - The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly
    Most likely causes:
    IIS received the request; however, an internal error occurred during the processing of the request. The root cause of this error depends on which module handles the request and what was happening in the worker process when this error occurred.
    IIS was not able to access the web.config file for the Web site or application. This can occur if the NTFS permissions are set incorrectly.
    IIS was not able to process configuration for the Web site or application.
    The authenticated user does not have permission to use this DLL.
    The request is mapped to a managed handler but the .NET Extensibility Feature is not installed.
    Detailed Error Information:
    Module
       FastCgiModule
    Notification
       ExecuteRequestHandler
    Handler
       PHP_via_FastCGI
    Error Code
       0x000000ff
    The mapping looks right to me.  User rights seem good.   Any help would be appreciated as I can't seem to make any progress.
    Thank you very much.

    I have but it doesn't make any difference.   thanks.

  • PHP works, but CodeIgniter doesn't?

    Community,
    I've followed both the wiki regarding mysql installation, LAMP installation etc. Added http group and user, configured apache and php. When I run a test file with phpinfo() inside, everything works. But when I try to run my previous codeigniter project, i only get a blank screen in return and then this is what I peek into the logs:

    After several hours trying to get my LAMP to work, I'm about to throw my brand new Asus M4A88T-I Deluxe out the window, with that cute quad core processor . Fare well, black box!
    ...But I thought about a little help from my friends. Any logs I've forgotten about will be supplied, if needed.
    Cheers
    Update - I've found out that there's nothing wrong with the server. It's something wrong with CI, thus this would make a CI-specific topic. Please delete the topic.
    Update 2 and solved - A fresh installation of PHP has the mysql module commented out. Uncomment it in php.ini - and it works Cheers!

    Which one is it supposed to be? I have both versions installed side-by-side in /usr/lib, the prefix was /usr. Also, I was thinking about openssl installing header files into /usr/include. Aren't they needed to compile this php extension? openssl098 basically installs just the library:
    $ pacaur -Ql openssl098
    openssl098 /usr/
    openssl098 /usr/bin/
    openssl098 /usr/bin/openssl098
    openssl098 /usr/lib/
    openssl098 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
    openssl098 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8
    openssl098 /usr/share/
    openssl098 /usr/share/licenses/
    openssl098 /usr/share/licenses/openssl098
    Maybe I should go with compiling openssl from sources after all...
    On a side note

    Does it matter? I'm going to use it for development.

  • 10.4.9 Upgrade Seems to Have Broken Sieve Filters in Squirrel Mail

    I upgraded to 10.4.9 (thanks to all of Alex's good advice and excellent help), the upgrade went well after forcing an install of MIME::Base64 and Net::Server.
    However, the Sieve Filters in Squirrel no longer work properly. To be exact, it looks like the filters themselves continue to work, but when you use a browser to go to the filter's page, it's blank.
    My system has some tweaks due to a BuildSmart install and a few other modules, so this problem may only relate to my server.
    Anyway, can someone suggest a place to start in tracking this down?
    From the httpd error log:
    [Fri Mar 16 12:12:57 2007] [error] PHP Notice: Object of class ContentType could not be converted to int in /usr/share/squirrelmail/class/mime/Rfc822Header.class.php on line 61
    [Fri Mar 16 12:51:11 2007] [error] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function sqmb_listencodings() in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/imaputf7local.php on line 27
    [Fri Mar 16 12:51:36 2007] [error] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function sqmb_listencodings() in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/imaputf7local.php on line 27

    OK. I fixed the trouble.
    Before the 10.4.9 update, I was running SquirrelMail 1.4.9a (I had upgraded using Alex's upgrade instructions at http://osx.topicdesk.com/downloads/). I had used Ian Butler's instructions for installing avelsieve at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=660096#660096
    However, after the 10.4.9 upgrade, SquirrelMail was back to running 1.4.5.
    So, I reinstalled version 1.4.9a and copied the old avelsieve directory from a pre-10.4.9 boot clone back-up I had into /usr/share/squirrelmail/plugins.
    After running /etc/squirrelmail/config/conf.pl and re-enabling the avelsieve plugin, all is well.

    My mail forms created by muse 2014.0.1.30 do not work. PHP 5.4 is enabled by my hoster, so they should work. Can anyone help me, for these forms are crucial for my business. The forms confirm delivery, but the mails are not recieved. No spam filters enabled.
    Meanwhile, I was able to narrow the problem down: PHP seems not to accept a re-directed mail address as sender of the mail in some cases. So, it has nothing to do with the mail form itself.

  • Drop down list based on log in username - php mysql

    I have a drop down list of client names on a php page that filters a second drop down list of site names.
    At the moment, any user who logs in can see the entire list of clients, however I want to filter the list based on their username log in.
    This is the entire page code, the section in bold is the drop down list in question:

      $isValid = False;
      // When a visitor has logged into this site, the Session variable MM_Username set equal to their username.
      // Therefore, we know that a user is NOT logged in if that Session variable is blank.

    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM qry_test WHERE username = colname GROUP BY client_name ASC
    Where do I drop the code for the colname info?
    name:colname
    type: text
    default value: -1
    run time value: $_SESSION['MM_Username']
    Thanks!

    I don't do PHP but it would be something like:
    $sql = sprintf (SELECT DISTINCT * FROM qry_test WHERE username = %s GROUP BY client_name ASC, $_SESSION['MM_Username'] );
    or you can just embed the session variable into the sql string.
    But why are you using the GROUP BY clause? If you just need a distinct list of names, use the DISTINCT keyword and reduce your select list to only the needed column.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function odbc_connect() in /var/www/html/waseem.php on line 20
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Is the problem with oci_connect or odbc_connect?
    The phpinfo() output shows '--without-unixODBC' which may be a root cause. There is no 'odbc' section shown in the phpinfo() output so I wouldn't expect odbc calls to work.
    But if the issue is with OCI8, then make sure that Oracle environment variables and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are set BEFORE starting Apache.
    More information on OCI8 and PHP is in http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/underground-php-oracle-manual.html

  • Issue with parameter passing in ie7 to php xml

    Hi
    I wondered if anyone could offer a little advice what the issue is here.
    I have a page with xml generated from php in a separte file and presented by a dataset in spry.
    The xml is OK and in firefox it all works but ie seems to barf on it.
    The situation is this:
    I have a jump menu on a front page that provides a url with anumeric parameter passed like this
    platforms.php?platform_id=1
    This parameter is picked up by php on the platforms.php page using the $_GET Array and is passed into the code in my Spry dataset to the file that runs my query and returns my xml- so basically the page displays a dataset filtered on this parameter id.
    It works perfectly in FF.
    In IE if I link straight to the page without a parameter at all- so platforms.php the page loads OK using the default parameter I have set up in the top of this page to send the default id of 1 to the code page so the spry query says platform_sql.php?platform_id=1 and the xml generator is fine with thisiel. ie I do a
    if(isset($_GET['platform_id'])){
                                                                     $platform=$_GET['platform_id'];
    }else{
    $platform=1;
    The dataset loads Ok in IE but when I pass a parameter in the url from my jump menu IE gives a blank SPRY table i- it momentarily appears with just the placeholders for my dataset elements then vanishes. The source code of the page shows the correct id was set in the spry data going to my query file.
    There is an error in ie saying there is a javascript error but its not any help- in ie fashion- FF shown no such errors.
    I thought this might be a data type thing again in the dataset but its not - I have set the elements returned to simple strings but it still does not work.
    Is there a problem passing in a parameter like this to a spry dataset?

    After about half a day of mucking round I found the problem and a solution to this problem.
    What appeared to have happened was that some of the older content in my database used html originally encoded using a WYSWYG editor called ktml.
    Later data uses Tiny MCE. It looks like the character set of the two formats is slightly different and as a result some characters rendered incorrectly when passed through XML parsing where it specifies the character set as utf-8.
    Firefox on the whole seems to ignore the issue though looking at the raw xml output of my php-xml code- where "-" characters were (dashes) there was a question mark character shown. None the less in actual use on my page the xml was produced and the dataset worked out.
    In IE, it barfed at these same characters and failed to return the xml dataset.
    What confused the issue more was some of my smaller datasets if they by chance never had a "-" character in rendered OK in IE- hence my default dataset (platform_id=1) worked in IE. After much experimenting I noticed other ids worked too if there was never such a character.
    How I got round it was to wrap my server side data in the utf8_encode() function, and now all my xml is clean.
    The javascript error being thrown was a red herring though I could not tell until I managed to run my page in ie7 with Visual Studio Express error console running- I had this on a spare machine at work so could debug with it.
    All sorted now- now just need to find away to wrap all my datasets in collapsible panels that work.

  • Apache 1.3.33 and PHP 4.3.11 compiled in

    The package
    Here are the good stabile versions of both Apache and PHP including the following stuff:
    - support for these databases: mysql, postgresql, firebird
    - gdi support
    - mod_ssl along with a dummy certificate
    - eaccelerator for PHP and the default configuration for it
    - mod_gzip for pages compression
    - mod_security for ids system (see Snort and making its rules compatible with mod_security). Also remember to disable rules if you get problems with PHP developement. mod_security tends to be too aggressive at first with these default rules.
    The files
    PKGBUILD
    httpd
    apache13.install
    http.conf.d
    httpd.conf.mod_gzip
    httpd.conf.regression-v2
    httpd.logrotate
    Done
    02.05.2005
    - fixed apache13.install to properly stop the server before unistall
    - set eaccelerator to be configured more like it is in cactus's package
    01.05.2005
    - backing up etc/php.ini and etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
    - added logrotate support code from Judd's package
    - phpize is now called from startdir instead of /usr/bin/phpize for eaccelerator
    30.04.2005
       - the package depends now on my firebirddb package. It was needed because
    libgds.so is needed when firebird support is compiled in
       - disabled imagick for the time being - got to find out how to make it compile properly by default
       - cleaned up the code that sets up php (the manual file copying doesn't seem to be needed anymore with 4.3.11)
       - made phpize to be called from ${startdir}
       - set mod_security filtering to Off as default
    29.04.2005 - updated php to v. 4.3.11
       - Tested using Gallery 1.4.4-pl5 and my own project (a lot of database activity and file handling)
    28.04.2005
       - fixed eaccelerator and it now works (php.ini had eaccelerator's settings inserted wrong way with "-marks). The execution of some scripts that took before 0.075 - 0.09 seconds now only takes 0.03-0.04
    27.04.2005
       - cleaned up code a bit and old comments and disabled cookie format checking for mod_security that was causing 500 error
    Todo and thoughts
    <i>10.05.2005</i> - found a great guide about securely setting up apache and php
    - it would be really great to implement a curses-based configuration where the PKGBUILD would be edited according to choices the users makes (because there are changes needed in many parts of the file) - this way the package would really be for everyone
    - deleting default apache manual
    - to get imagick to compile- graphicsmagick installation to work properly or to make it optional
    (ignore the text about graphicmagic in PKGBUILD - it was just for my own tests)

    I built it today and tested again and compiling part went just fine. Only apache13.install was missing - it had pre-remove commands (if server is already running to stop it). Then removed the older same package (pacman -R) and replaced it with the new one. Then started up apache and had 500 error - it was caused by mod_security. Turned off cookie filter in httpd.conf.regression-v2 (SecFilterCheckCookieFormat Off) and then it started up fine.
    The eaccelerator did not appear on php info page, so got to fix setting it up... Please let me know what else seems suspicious to you and what might cause errors.
