FIM Object Visualizer

Name
Latest Version
FIM Object Visualizer
6.0
Description:
The FIM Object Visualizer is a community script to display and document configurable objects such as Synchronization Rules, Workflows and Management Policy Rules:
Display – because the script has a UI to render your configuration
Document – because you can copy a displayed configuration to the clipboard and save it to a file.
The script is based on the HTA (HTML Application) framework – a framework that enables you to develop scripts that look like Windows applications without the need of writing code in Visual Studio.
Important
To run the script, you need a FIM server with PowerShell installed.
Please read the FIM ScriptBox Read Me First prior to running this script
The FIM Object Visualizer is a customizable community script to display and document configurable objects such as Synchronization Rules, Workflows and Management Policy Rules.
You can use this script to document your current FIM deployment or to provide configuration information in case of a troubleshooting scenario.
The script consist of two main components:
Data Request
Data Display
The script assumes that all PowerShell scripts that are located in the Collection folder are scripts to request object information from your FIM server.
When you start the script, the script code locates all these scripts and adds them to the left list box in the toolbar:
To request new or update existing object information for a specific object type, select the object type you are interested in from the list box, and then click Get Objects.
You can extend the number of supported object types by adding additional PowerShell scripts to the Collection folder.
The second list box lists the object types for which you have already requested object information.
To list the display names for an object type, select the object type from the list box, and then click Get Names:
To display the configuration of an object, click the object's display name:
As mentioned eelier in this post, the FIM Object Visualizer is a community tool.
This means, the objective of this download is to get you started with the process of documenting your deployment; however, I expect that you will modify the components of this script.
For example, if you don't like the "look & feel" of how an object type is rendered, you can easily customize it by modifying the related XSLT file.
If you have questions, comments or even extensions for this script, please respond to this post.
To download this script, use this link.

  • FIM Object Visualizer for Synchronization Service

Does this tool work if all we are running is the Synchronization Service?  It appears that it looks for the FIM Portal:
    $uri = "http://" + $args[0] + ":5725/resourcemanagementservice"
I need to be able to extract my IAF and EAF settings.  There used to be a set of utilities for MIIS/ILM, but I can't find them on the web now and lost my copy of them when I migrated to FIM.
    Thanks.

That might help except that none of the download links work:
"The Archive Gallery has been retired."
When did MS start getting so sloppy about this stuff?  They use to have one of the best support sites in the business, but it is really falling apart...
    I posted a comment (
Powershell MA (Microsoft) missing documentation) in July that the documentation for the PowerShell MA (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/23647.windows-powershell-connector-for-fim-2010-r2-sample-connector-collection.aspx)
was incomplete; it is like no one cares.

  • Object visualization to open attachment link in UWL decision task workitems

We are using Object Visualization (in t-code SWFVISU) to open an I-view when you click the attachment link in decision task workitems.  I sort of have this working.  My issue is that I need to pass parameters to the I-view.  I'm not sure how to do that.  I've seen some documentation on dynamic parms in SWFVISU (DYNPARM) but I don't see that option (maybe we are on an older version).  Maybe we can via XML files?  I've done Task visualization and edited xml files but I'm not sure if we can do similar code for object visualization.  Does anyone know how to do this?   Have any samples/documentation?
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Object Visualization and accessing the object's attributes

    Hi all,
I am trying to configure SWFVISU to allow us to call an ABAP Web Dynpro which displays an adhoc object attached to a workflow in the UWL.
I've had success with a business object of a task which is not an adhoc object by binding an attribute to the task container and creating a custom attribute in the UWL.  However this is not possible with Adhoc Objects as there could be 0..n objects at runtime.
I've seen plenty of threads that refer to using ${item.externalObjectId} as part of the visualization parameters, ie in Visualization Parameters:
    APPLICATION     FMCA_WDY_FPF
    DYNPARAM                          WDCONFIGURATIONID=FMCA_WDY_FPF_CONF&RETURN_ID=${item.externalObjectId}
    NAMESPACE                          sap
    SYSTEM_ALIAS     SAP_ERP_Public_Sector
however in this case the attribute we need access to is an attribute to the Object Class, not the Work Item.
Is there any other variable substitution we can use in the Object Visualization to reference an attribute of the Object Class itself?
    Thanks in advance
    Alex

  • Is it possible to archive FIM admin objects (sync rules, email templates, MPRs etc..) as XML files.

    Hellos.
We are wondering if we can extract/dump FIM objects as .xml files for Archive/Version control purposes.
The objects we are interested in archiving are basically all the FIM Administration stuff.
Is there some documentation about how individual FIM Administration objects can be archived via Portal or FIMcmdlet

you can even visualize this using visio

  • Is it possible to BULK clear an attribute value in FIM

    Hello Everybody,
Due to a new company policy I must clear the jobtitle value in FIM for all users. I used ADModify.net to set Null for the attribute and this works in Active directory for all users. So I set the AD management agent to have the highest
precedence and performed a full import, followed by a full sync, and finally and export on the FIM management agent however it did not clear the value for all the fim objects. I have tested changing one of the objects value to "test" and doing
the same and it does change in FIM so I'm at a loss why it wont take the Null.
I'm under a strict deadline and seem to be stuck so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
I've descibed something similar in my blog post, ist about clearing up membership from groups, but you can adapt this to your needs for person objects.
    http://justidm.wordpress.com/2013/10/14/correct-group-objects-with-waring-dynamic-group-has-static-member/
Just use the Replace operation instead of Delete and Define the ArrtibuteName (jobtitle in your case) but do not set the AttributeValue (don't set it to empty string instead just omit the property)

  • Disable attachment in preview of UWL : possible ?

    Hi,
Is it possible to make a configuration for the UWL that for the tasks (not for the notifications) in the "preview" the attachments are not available (not shown) In the preview the attachement refers to the R/3 application.
We prefer to keep the preview in the UWL but not to show the attachment in the preview section.
    Kind regards

could you give me a detailled description of what to enter in the fields under Object-Visualization? What's the name of the "attachment object"?

  • Calling all SWFVMD1 gurus

    Hi,
I am trying to configure object visualization for workflow attachments in NWBC (Netweaver Business Client). Apparently this is done via SWFVMD1 instead of SWFVISU.
It just won't work for me however.. the documentation is patchy and I can't find any _working_ examples. No, that's a lie, I can't find any examples at all.
Has anyone successfully configured SWFVMD1 for object visualization, and if so could they please share some screenshots?
    FYI
I am trying to activate a link to a TRM formbundle. The OBN method TRM_NAVI.DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE
just has two undocumented parameters called PARA1 and PARA2. No, I'm not kidding!
What values are we supposed to pass to these parameters? All help/hints greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Paul Bakker
PS When I finally sort this out I promise to put it all in a big fat blog

    Neil,
OK, I don't have access to a system at the moment, but I can outline what I did to enable clickable links for my custom object ZCL_REG_FORM_BUNDLE in workitems. Hopefully it's useful.
Note that I was using a custom class (while your Purch Req is a standard BOR), so please take that into account.
    (1)
    transaction SWFVMD1
    object/method tab
    CL ZCL_REG_FORM_BUNDLE OBN
    the parameters are:
    OBJECT_TYPE 0 TRM_NAVI
    OPERATION 0 DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE
    PARA1 1 &_OBJECT_KEY&
    PARA2 1
What this means is that when you want to display (click) the object ZCL_REG_FORM_BUNDLE,
it will use the OBN construct TRM_NAVI.DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE to find the appropriate role (of yours) that contains this OBN construct, and from there determine the REAL transaction or webdynpro application to execute.
    The only parameter that it needs in this case is &_OBJECT_KEY&;
I found this by using F4.
    (2)
The basic flow of logic for OBN is this:
someone clicks on a formbundle link in a workitem; we know it is an object of type ZCL_REG_FORM_BUNDLE, so
SWFVMD1 is consulted; it seems we want display this guy using TRM_NAVI.DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE
which, by the way, is a method with no code.
SAP looks through all your security roles to see which have TRM_NAVI.DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE in their menu list
it picks one (any?) role and then reads what the real display method is; in this case, webdynpro application FMCA_WDY_FPF.
In other words, TRM_NAVI.DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE is a dummy method that needs to be resolved via your security roles, to find the real display method! Ingenious.
    (3) Security Role example: Y.SCC.SPECIALIST
    transaction PFCG, menu tab
look down the hierarchy for 'Display Formbundle'
click on it; the right-hand-side window shows that it maps to:
      - Web Dynpro Application
      - FMCA_WDY_FPF
      - Display form bundle
click on 'Other Node Details' & scroll to the bottom
    Object-Based Navigation has this entry:
    - TRM_NAVI.DISPLAY_FORMBUNDLE RETURN_ID={PARA1}&WORKITEM_ID={PARA2}
These parameters match the PARA1 and PARA2 in step (1)
So webdynpro application FMCA_WDY_FPF is the real display method.
(Note: PARA2 is supposed to contain the workitem id, but as far as I can tell, that is not required or necessary for this to work. We just want to display the formbundle, and it doesn't matter which workitem it is in).
Here endeth the lesson. Let me know how you go.
If it proves useful, I might put this content in a blog later.
    cheers
    Paul

    Hello Markus
is it possible to remove the link ONLY for certain tasks? There is a suggestion here: Re: Disable attachment in preview of UWL : possible ?, but it is not working (can't see any task to  choose under "object visualization").
    Do you have an idea?

  • URL Attachment in UWL - Task

    Hi All.
    We're in ECC 5.0 with EP 6.0
My question how to tie specific url i.e.www.sdn.sap.com to particular dialog task.
This dialog task built on ABAP Class
We setup our dialog task as follows:
Our Task TS90000200 have object category "ABAP Class", Object Type "YCL_WF_01" and method "DUMMY". Nothing inside method "DUMMY"
We register this task in SWFVISU
with visualization parameter "APPLICATION" = "CommApp"
    and "PACKAGE" = "company.net/WfComm
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sandy,
Can you plese send me more details on the process. We have a similar requiremetn ot call a URL for display of sales document instead of usual transaction VA03.
I tried both the task visualization as well the Object Visualization - but it is not working.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Travel Expense - Remove Workflow Attachments?

We have enabled standard SAP Travel Workflow WS20000040 - Approve Trip.  Managers will perform approvals through the Universal Worklist within the SAP Portal.  Each work item is generated with an attachment.  When the attachment is launched via the UWL in the portal, it launches transaction PR05 VIA the SAPWEBGUI.  We do not want the attachment.
Is there an easy way to remove the attachment associated with this specific work item?
I have read some posts that detail how to turn off all attachments in the UWL.   However, I would like to remove the attachment for this workflow item only.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

Thanks for all of the responses and helpful suggestions.
After researching further, I found several references that recommended using transaction SWFVISU > Object Visualization to suppress the workflow attachment.
I created an entry based with the following parameters:
Object Type:  BO BOR Object Type
    Object Type:  BUS2089
    Method Name:  Approve
Visualization Type:  NONE Object Not Represented
This did not work. However, we are not on the latest support packs on either the portal or back-end system which I am thinking may be contributing.   We are applying patches in the next week and I will re-test.
Does anyone have any feedback regarding this and whether the entry I have created is correct (and therefore should work)?
    Thanks

  • Launching Quote PDF from UWL

    Greetings,
I have a discount approval workflow in CRM.  The discount approval person wants to see the quote in PDF when he/she gets the quote approval request in his UWL Task tab, but I haven't been able to figure this one out.
    We have the class/method:
    zcl_cust_doc_proc_crm_order=>crm_srvcont_exec_smart_form
which we use in the PCUI to display the quote.
I looked at using SWFVISU and adding an entry for object visualization, but I don't understand how this would link back to approval task.  Can someone please help me with this or point me to some documentation.
    Thanks.

    Hi Raja,
    Thanks for your response.
Actually I had checked regardng UWL XML config details about this task and this parameter appears there..
So that is the reason I was wondering whether this is related to any patch levels?
Have you come across any details e.g. patch level pre-requisites etc for dynamic parameters to work with UWL?
Pls let me know If you have any other suggestions to check for.

  • SWFVISU configuartion steps.......................

    Hi,
I have copied the standard user decision task to TS9000892. Now my requirement is that we should have the workitem both in sap inbox and portal UWL.
I read from the sdn that some config need to be done in SWFVISU and portal side also to make workitems visible in UWL. Can somebody explain step by step procedure how to accomplish my task.I checked many post but they all are mostly handling lauch of dynpro\iview\bsp apllication from task. I want that that the workitem generated from this task should be present in UWL also.
Edited by: sanju on Mar 30, 2009 5:50 PM

    Hi,
Steps on how to Configure SFWVISU to Configure Visualization Types:
           1.      Start transaction SWFVISU. The tables might be empty or contain existing information. There are two levels to choose from
Task Visualization u2013 how you want your visualisation to be when you execute a task
Object Visualization u2013 how you would want your object displayed
           2.      Choose New Entries. Fill out the task id (for Task Visualization) or object type (for Object Visualization) and select the corresponding visualization type. Hit the u2018enteru2019 key to get to another entry.
           3.       Highlight the row and choose Visualization Parameter. Add new parameters here.
           4.      Choose Save.
You can follow the example of page 14 from this link [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20f4843e-314f-2a10-2a88-8c4afa20dda6]

  • Opening application from Tracking tab of UWL

    Hi All,
I am editing XML to open WDA application from "Tracking" tab of UWL .
But when I click the link of tasks on "Tracking" tab , explanation of the task is displayed by popup .
I want to open WDA application which displayed data gotten from SAP by workitem ID .
On task tab , links of "Task" tab work collectly , display the WDA application and passed workitem ID .
My procedure is described below .
    1. I added the entry at SWFVISU to output the WDA application from "Task" tab .
    2. I downloaded uwl.webflow.UWLSETXXX.XML file .
    3. On the XML file , I copied entries made by the first process , and  I modified  the source .
I update just name and defaultview .
    - name
    before :<ItemType name="uwl.request.webflow.TS91000005.UWLSETXXX"
    after:  <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.WS91000001"
I had seen UWL support Information of "Tracking" tab items .
Item type of "Tracking" tab is like "uwl.task.webflow.WS91000001" . It does not contain system ID ".UWLSETXXX" .
It is difference "Task" tab and "Tracking" tab .
    - defaultview
    before : defaultView="DefaultView"
    after : defaultView="WorkItemRequestsView"
    4. I upload the XML file as the new name "uwl.webflow.UWLSETXXX_new" .
    5. Clear cashes .
I notified that there is not "Item type configration name" in UWL support information of "Tracking" tab .
But UWL support information of "Task" tab has the data : uwl.webflow.UWLSETXXX_new in "Item type configration name" .
    Does it matter ?

  • FIM MA Export errors. There is an error executing a web service object creation.

While checking for the permission, we have figured that the Built-In Synchronization account is being deleted by an Expiration Workflow.

Is there a way to restore. Thanks.

I would re-run FIM setup - I think it can re-create this account
