Financial Analytics - Source as Oracle Financials 11.5.8 (Older Versions)

We need to know the possibility of load data into Financial Analytics using source as Oracle Financials 11.5.8.
As we know the connector is for EBS 11.10i.

I think it is best to ask this directly to a technical oracle consultant. I think they will say, you have to upgrade anyway...
But I think you can just try it and look how many mappings go wrong so you can see how much you have to customize.

My question where is the document that show the integration between OFSA and OBIE Oracle Financial profitability Analytics
in the old version the document say that there is a PLSQL package to make the integration with OFSA to build the data-mart tables and to get the data from OFSA tables to the data-mart tables

Using Web Service as Data source (Pluggable Data Source) in Oracle Reports

Anyone using Webservice as a pluggable data source in oracle 10g reports.(Report builder version:10.1.2.0.2)? We need to be able to use web service as one of the data source to create reports.Tried the following and ran into issues:
Imported the wspds.jar fle from oracle plugin exchage. When tried using it received the following error in oracle reports trace file.

By troubleshooting issue found out that xmlparserv2.jar in 10g is newer than xmlparserv2.jar in 9i. wspds.jar is using xmlparserv2.jar in 9i as it was developed and tested for 9i only. Believe there is no newer wspds.jar file developed specifically for 10g?
Is there a better/standard solution to use webservice as data source in oracle 10g reports? Does later version of oracle reports supports webservice as a data source without any additional plugins? Any suggestion would be helpful.

Please provide support for the above request.
It appears that Oracle 10g reports doesn't support Web Service as pluggable data source. Is this option is available in Oracle 11g Reports or Oracle Discoverer Or OBIEE?

How to use CDC with source as Oracle 7/8i

Hi Guys,
We are planning to use the Data Integrator 11.7.0 as ETL in one of our new projects.Unfortunately the source databases are Oracle 7 and 8i.
Can anyone suggest if there some sort of workaroud to achieve this.
As we know that Data Integrator manages the CDC environment by accessing Oracle's CDC packages. I was hoping that there would be a way to import the Oracle CDC packages to the older versions to have the CDC work.
Please let me know in case you need to get additional information on this.

CDC technique was introduced in Oracle 9i version onwards. Hence you can't use that native technique in older versions of oracle.
In order to implement CDC technique in older versions of oracle(7.x,8.x) you can follow any of the below listed ways
Alternate ways
1. Timestamp & Status indicator(Flag) based
2. Compare/Differentiate the tables
3. Custom built Triggers
Any thoughts?

Financial Analytics 7.9.6 - Reconciling to EBS 11.5.10 Data Source

Source system: EBS 11.5.10
Question
I have completed the BAW ETL load from my EBS 11.5.10 source system and am trying to reconcile the data in the warehouse with the EBS data to ensure it has loaded successfully. I have started by running Parameterised General Ledger -> Trial Balance OOTB Dashboard reports in BI against similar parametrised Trial Balance Summary reports in EBS, and they have successfully reconciled in my local currency (AUD). However, I need to add the "Local" currency columns to the OOTB request when I run a report against a foreign currency (GBP).
This is all easily done but it is time consuming. Can anyone out there share with us all their techniques for reconciling data volumes and values, specifically for EBS 11.5.10 data source?

I am about to commence an Oracle BI Apps Financial Analytics 7.9.6 install using Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 as a source for the BAW utilising Single Sign-On (SSO). Is there a list of any paticular EBS Interoperability patches, minimum EBS Family Packs for the EBS modules within Financial Analytics (GL, AR, AP) and SSO patches I need to be aware of?

HFM as source for Financial Analytics

Can we feed the HFM data to Financial Analytics? How complex would this be? What would be the approach?

you need to configure those three files to get the data in to BI and report them.
file_group_acct_codes_ora.csv : you need to pull all your natural GL accounts from EBS and feed them to this file. this file specifies each gl account and its behavior like whether it is a Payable entry or Receivable or Cash or PPE etc. so that you can view the data in payable, receivables etc dashboards with appropriate group totals.
the group codes you define here like AP, AR, CASH, etc must be defined in file_group_acct_names.csv, which is master file for Account groups.
file_group_acct_names.csv: This defines master set of group names you are using in your organization like AP, AR, CASH, PPE etc. these groups intern tagged to a financial statement codes like Revenue, TAX etc. so that you can find what is the total revenue or tax or AP etc for a specific period for a business unit.
file_grpact_fsmt.csv: This a master file containing Financial statement item codes like Revenue, Tax.

Financial Analytics on Vision Demo Database(EBS)

Hi,
We are trying to configure Financial Analytics and view Dashboards for the same.
We have EBS 12 with vision database and created a Demo on the same without following Configuration steps, only by giving the credentials for OLAP and OLTP data sources in DAC and OBI. After which we were able to view some portion of Payables and Receivables. I have 2 questions
1. The measures for GL and Profitability dashboard are null. When I checked the RPD there were conditions for the columns like
FILTER(Core."Fact - Fins - GL Balance"."Activity Global1 Amount" USING Core."Dim - GL Account"."Group Account Number" = 'ACC DEPCN')
and for the same when I checked the physical table in OLAP it has only "Others" and when we checked the mappings and identified the source table in Oracle Apps we could not view any data.
The Question is Do we have any data in vision demo database to configure GL.
2. When we ran the execution plan Financials_Oracle R12 through DAC, all the mappings were successful but now when we run a mapping through Informatica it is throwing an error :
*Cannot find specified parameter file [E:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\server\infa_shared\SrcFiles\SILOS.SIL_AgreeFact.txt] for [session [SIL_AgreeFact.SIL_AgreeFact]].*
How can we resolve this issue as we know that these parameter files are provided in installation and we copied the same in Informatica folder.

The location of Parameter Files generated by DAC is defined by InformaticaParameterFileLocation parameter in Setup section in DAC itself.
Copying the source files into Infa_shared is one of the configuration steps and is needed. The thing is that you copy the source files for your mappings (like base for your fiscal calendar, etc.) and not the parameter files for your Workflow Sessions.
So we have 3 different folders here:
1. DAC default parameter folder (when DAC will create the parameter files automatically)
2. Source files for mappings (location configured in Infa)
3. Parameter files for Workflow Sessions run through Informatica (configured in each Workflow Session).
In theory if you run your Workflows only using DAC, you will not be interested in the third folder since it is not going to be used.
If you use Workflow manager, you should place your parameter files in the 3rd folder (\server\infa_shared\SrcFiles by default).
You can also rename parameter files through Workflow Session properties.

OBI 11g is a Platform. For the Financial Analytics you need to look at OBIA (Oracle Business Intelligence Applications). The latest in stable is 7.9.6.3. OBIA is hosted on OBI Platform.

first identify your source system like Oracle ERP or people soft or siebel and its version. then find the suitable container in DAC like Oracle R12 or Oracle R12.1.1 etc. with in that you would be able to find suitable subject areas. Also you would be able to find suitable execution plan. find them. before you run the executable plan, read the BI apps config guide and configure all lookup files properly.

I have already checked table source (HZ_PARTIES,AP_SUPPLIERS,HZ_ORGANIZATION_PROFILES,HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS) and table target (W_PARTY_ORG_DS). All source table and target table are exist. But when I ran execution plan for Financial Analytics, I got failed on task SDE_ORA_PartyOrganizationDimension_Customer_Full
Did anyone ever get this issue?

Have you tried running the sql against your source? I ran this against one of our EBS instances and it runs fine.
If it runs OK I would next check what connection the Informatica workflow is using. Check the full session and workflow logs to make sure its connecting to the correct database.

Pursuing a Certifcation in Oracle Financials!!!

I want to seriously pursue Oracle Financials. I stay in Zimbabwe:
1). Is it possible to get certified on a self study program through correspondence without attending classes, seeing that I can not possibly attend classes this side because there are not any that I know of?
2). If its possible, how do I source the study material for the specific path that I have chosen and how long do I have to study and prepare before I write my exams?
3). On selecting the Oracle Financial Path that I want, do I have to stick to the courses that are reflected in that path or I can do a random selection of the courses that I think are relevant to my professional background. For example, looking at this path R12 Oracle Asset Management Fundamentals, do I stick to it, do all the courses specified and get certified in that path or I have to select the courses that I think are relevant for my background and get certified?

For the duration, it depends on how familiar you are with the exam topics.
