Financial management module is very slow for consolidation/posting executed
Hi all,
we are using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financial Managemenet module; our process of consolidation/posting is very slow at the day-end ? We have about 300-400 entries/invoices and it takes about 3-4 hours to get it done.
Please suggest what can be hotspot areas to look into?
If some step-by-step document then do share with me on [email protected]
If possible then do let me know some changes to be made for faster processing of said consolidation/posting;
Best Regards
Talok Khatri
My suggestion is that you contact Oracle Support for assistance on this. I wonder if you might need to upgrade your computer hardware. It should not be taking that long to process that volume of activity. Are there perhaps other activity going on at the same time that could be slowing down the posting process? You probably need to monitor the system to see what is happening when this is running. Maybe it is running against a data backup at the same time? Support would need to help you work through the possible causes.

Why my Illustrator CC is now very slow for opening a 2MB AI file (about 5 minutes), at the beginning (1 month ago) it was very fast (10 seconds).
Assuming that you system meets minimal requirements for CC, make sure you have enough space on your hard drive. By saying enough, I try not to cross 3/4 of its capacity but trivially saying, the more free space the better and the faster the drive the better (I've been considering an SSD drive but still running a regular HDD).
If you are on Windows, clean up the %TEMP% folder regularly and keep the disk neat using the defragmentation tool.
Click Start>Run>enter %temp% , wait for the files to load and select all, hit Shift+DEL to remove them permanently.
For the defrag tool, you can use either the defrag /? command from the command line or right-click the drive, click Properties > Tools > Defragmentation>Defragment Now
Other than that it requires deeper analysis to find performance bottleneck. -
MMy iPad Air has been VERY slow, for 6-8 weeks. Update to iOS 8.1 did not help. Screen just sits and buffers. Rebooting sometimes helps, sometimes not.what's wrong???
Hi go to ICloud & backup. Go to Seetings Restore to Factory Settings This will get rid of any bugs and make ipad like new. Just use Same Apple ID & password then you will get all your Apps & Data Back. Cheers Brian

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

PS CS3 Smart Sharpen very slow for LCE
PS CS3 Smart Sharpen is very slow to create a preview and then be applied to the image, at least when using a low amount and high radius, eg 20, 50, for local contrast enhancement (LCE). I'm now running Vista 64, but I think it happened even under XP 32.
Is this a common issue or is there some way of speeding things up with Smart Sharpen?
Cheers, JohnA solution!
It turns out the problem in my case was in fact Suitcase. Previously, I'd tried turning it off, but that didn't fix the problem, so this time, I uninstalled it completely and the problem disappeared. I then began re-adding it (installed 15.0.1, upgraded it, etc.) and the problem resurfaced with the addition of the Photoshop-specific plugin. Deleting that plugin solved the problem. So it seems that "disabling" Suitcase by stopping the TypeCore doesn't seem to actually disable all of the tentacles it sticks into your system.
You can find the plugin here: Applications / Adobe Photoshop CS6 / Plug-ins / Automate / ExtensisFontManagementPSCS6.plugin
(After a restart, I also had to delete the font cache, as described here http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop-cs5.html but your mileage may vary.)
Alternately, if you don't want to delete the plugin, disabling it from within Photoshop seems to work as well. To do that, go to File > Automate > Extensis, click Preferences..., then deselect Enable Suitcase Fusion 4 Auto-Activation.
Fortunately, the plugin doesn't seem necessary at all to use the the core functionality of Suitcase (enabling and disabling fonts) in Photoshop. I didn't even know what these app-specific plugins did until researching this problem, and I still don't quite understand the point of them. I guess they allow you to let the apps for which they're installed do a little bit more of their own management (enable a font via Suitcase that isn't enabled system-wide), but that seems like more control than I need--if I'm enabling a font, I want all my software to be able to use it.
Anyway, the problem seems to be completely solved on my system now, though I just did all this, so more testing over the next few days is required. I'll post here if any issues crop up. I'm interested in hearing if this solves it for anyone else as well. -
M speed is usually 1.5mb been down to about 300 the last few days and dipped now at 121 and just a measly 97 this morning....
done all the usual checks, and i noticed on a local internet forum last night that other is my area are suffering the same too with no explanation from BT
(my daling code is 01595)
phoned BT...he said there were no faults it must be my end, repeated all the checks including the microfilter, he then said there WAS a problem with outtage and it would be 8 days before my speed was returned to normal....when i questioned this he explained it was cos of a powercut somewhere in the UK for 4 hours?????eh?
he then went on to quiz me if i had selected 1 when i phoned to leave feedback, when i said i had he seemed quite aggitated, quized me more about selecting to leave feedback and told me this effected his performance.
he then told me not to phone BT again for the next 10 days as this would confuse people and it would be an extra week on top of the 8 days i would have to wait for my normal broadband speed.
i am obviously totally disatisfied...i just want to know why my speed is slow and when it will return to normal
anyone help.???
my dailing code is not on any of the service status pagesis this what you mean

i phoned BT again, spent 2 hours on the phone!!! we went through the usual checks etc, this time they
tested the line properly and confirmed they could see i had very slow speed, but couldn't tell me why?
they said they would reset the line and i should see an improvement in 24 to 48 hours and it should return to usual in 8 day?? i still dont understand.....
and its still as slow as 112kbps..as me and partner both rely on internet for our work and training its just painful waiting for this to be solved!!
i just want a clear explantion what is happening/why its happening and when will it be fixed? -
Broadband VERY slow for weeks now
Hi. We've been suffering very slow (almost dial-up like) speeds on our broadband for abot 3 weeks now, and I'm reaching the end of my tether! Any help on offer would be much appreciated. Quick summary:
- A week or so ago a first engineer came out, as we had slow broadband and our landline wasn't working. He discovered and fixed a physical line fault up the road. The landline returned, but the broadband remained slow. He said the speed probably locked at the exchange but would sort itself out in a few days.
- After a few days, the speed hadn't changed and (after another call and wait) another engineer came out. He called the exchange and got them to make some changes which seemed to have changed the "DSL Connection Rate" returned on the BT speedtester, but the actual speed we're receiving hasn't improved. He claimed the speed would return to normal a couple of hours after he left. It didn't. This was 3 days ago.

The "IP Profile" line there makes me wonder if our IP has been locked at a low speed at the exchange somehow?
I really can't face calling up and going through the same script a 3rd time if it can be avoided! Does anyone have any suggestions to fix the speed? Can I change the external-facing IP of the homehub? Thanks. Is this what you mean?

Search very slow for one Mailbox
I am running GW 7.03 on NetWare 6.5 SP7 server. I have one mailbox that is about 1 GB in size and when I search the text in the message, it takes very long time (sometime longer than 5 minutes and still no result return). This only happen since last week.
I ran the GW mailbox maintenance and reindex the mailbox but the search speed does not improve.
I noticed the line saying "BOX COUNT VIOLATORS- count > 500, what does that mean?
Below is the GWCHECK result, can anyone suggest what could be the cause of the delay.

CheI have a test GW8 test running on NW6.5 SP7. I got to the web console port 7181, Configuration tab, QUickfinder indexing page and enter the FID i.e. m9k in the Beginning & user user FID fields and pressed <Submit>.
On the NetWare POA console, I press Ctrl+Shift+Q and I saw the message:
Connection refused [8925] see GWDCA.log
QuickFinder indexing thread finished
QuickFinder index Rebuild
QuickFinder index update
Question 1:
Is the process same on GW7 & GW8?
Question 2:
How can I tell the indexing is complete?
Question 3:
If I do it via the Web Console, do I need to restart POA?
Question 4:
Would the steps above be similar to what TID 3105742 will do.
Thanks again.

JDeveloper IDE suddenly very slow for past two days
Hi All,
I have Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 for more than a month now. Suddenly the JDeveloper IDE has become very slow. It is very annoying having to wait for the code changes to show across and windows take long to get in sync. I have 3.25 GB RAM running on XP service pack 3. Also, I scanned my machine for likely virus, but has come clean. It is only with Jdeveloper I am having problems. All other applications are running fine. I even tried just running JDeveloper alone. No luck.
ThanksSuddenly the JDeveloper IDE has become very slowSeems like something changed.
Did you install any new extensions? When is it "slow?" Is it when doing a specific activity, or just overall "slow?" What does your OS show (is JDev using lots of CPU, for example)? Have you tried making a backup of your "system11.1.1.4.37.59.23" folder (numbers may be different depending on version) and then deleting it so that JDev recreates it for you (you'll lose all of your preferences/settings)?

Macbook Pro 2011 Very Slow for Yosemite 10.10.1
Good night,
My macbook is very slow when I power supply to retreat, even 100% loaded this causes problems.
Applications are slow to open, the mouse is slow, loses performance.
The battery was recently replaced. I've had this problem in OS mavericks and was Kernel_task problem, but now do not know what to do to stop this slow using only the battery charged.
I'm using the Yosemite 10.10.1
System Specification: MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz DDR3
When I remove the charger, the system rises to 90% usage ...
memory:
Physical Memory: 4.00 GB
Memory Used: 3.95 GB1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be a series of messages in the Terminal window like this:
Part 1 of 8 done at ... sec
Part 8 of 8 done at ... sec
The messages won't be spaced equally apart in time, but they give a rough indication of progress. Wait for the final message

to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the last message you saw. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

after installing ios7 on my ipad the keyboard is very slow, delayed. text, email and passcode.
Hi Knackerman, I was racking my brain trying to think how I did this and then I remembered that at the time because of other problems I was having with my iPad and it was under extended warranty, they offered to replace it for me.
When I went to collect new one they asked if I wanted the to download iOS7 and they replied, NO, I did not, well that was enough for me and I told them to please leave it as is.
I just ignore all the reminders I receive to download iOS7 on my phone and iPad.
I am very happy with my 6 version.
I am very sorry I am unable to help, I know how you feel, I hated it, it caused so many glitches to my otherwise perfect iPad before instalment.
Overall though, I think Apple has to shake itself up, they are getting left behind in the Samsung wake. -
Time Capsule external drive very slow for backup
I am experiencing very, very slow backup times using an external drive attached to my Time Capsule. When I recently added a 3 TB Rocstor external drive to my mid-2011 iMac using FireWire, I included it in the drives to be backed up. The internal 2 TB of storage in my Time Capsule was no longer enough, so I plugged a 4 TB WD My Book Studio drive into the Time Capsule's USB 2.0 port and specified this WD drive as the only backup storage. The first backup took almost 48 hours. Now the Time Machine keeps trying to back up about 400 GB - 500 GB (though there haven't been any changes) and is transferring about 400 KB/sec over Ethernet from my iMac to the Time Capsule's external drive. What am I doing wrong? (I recently upgraded the iMac to OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite.)
Frankly, I have no way to gauge your network setup, so I can't really tell you what you should expect. I can tell you from my own experiences using a local network based on a 3rd Gen. Gigabit Ethernet AEBS that using Ethernet the average throughput (not interface) was in the neighborhood of 16-20 MBs/sec. The average throughput for a USB 2.0 drive connected directly was about the same.
This works out to an average throughput of around 60 GBs/hour. Depending upon file sizes and number of files being transferred a USB 2.0 drive might reach 100 GBs/hour, but that is a rare outcome. The USB 2.0 drive interface speed is about the same as FireWire 400 - 400 Mb/s or roughly 50 MBs/sec. This is what I know from measurement. Do not expect Ethernet to be any faster for throughput. -
My iPod 4G has been going very slow! I want to restart it but my power button is broken. Please help it's been going slow for the past month. It's even slow as o type this message.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
To reset the iPod without the hardware buttons,
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. All your wifi and bluetooth preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will have to rejoin wifi networks and repair BT devices
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

try disabling your ESET NOD32 Antivirus. If that improves performance, then uninstall it.
