Find/change colour tint in table cell

Hi everyone,
I have a document containing a heap of tables. The tables currently have a tint of 15% black in some of the rows and I need to change this to 5% black. I also need to change the stroke weight from 0.5pt to 0.3pt.
Since there are so many of them, I wondered if there was a way to do this with find and change. The tables aren't objects - they're just regular tables inserted into the text frames.

Sorry to come back to this post but I'm still trying to figure out how to adapt the script suggested at this link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/681944
I'm assuming I need to swap out some values but how would I adapt it so that it looks for table cells coloured with 20% black and changes them to 10% black.
As mentioned previously, my javascript knowledge is limited so I'd need some guidance.
Any further advice appreciated.

I have just changed from Dreamweaver MX t CS5 and cannot find how to add a colour to the borders of a table and table cells. In the old MX it was easy just selected the colour for border in properties but in CS5 this option is not availble. If you are using release NW04 and have a TextView as table cell editor, you can do this:
Add a calculated attribute "Color" of DDIC type "com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.TextViewSemanticColor" under the data source node of the table.
Bind the "semanticColor" of the cell editor to this context attribute.
Implement the get-method for the calc. attribute like this
WDTextViewSemanticColor get<DataSourceNode>Color(I<DataSourceNode>Element element)
return element.getValue() < 0 ? WDTextViewSemanticColor.NEGATIVE : WDTextViewSemanticColor.STANDARD;

Theme Editor: where to change backgroundcolor of editable table cells?

Hi all,
I need to change the color of an editable table cell.
I navigated to the theme editor --> tables.There is a section "Editable Tables". The preview shows an example with three columns and tree rows. I want to change the backgroundcolor of the cell in the first row, third column (in SAP standard it is lightgrey).
The backgroundcolor of the rows beneath can be changed in section "Selected Cells", the backgroundcolor of the first two columns in the first row can be changed by "Background Color of Standard Table Cell" but I can't find the field where I can change the color of the last cell.

The blue color come from your definitions on "Labels and Fields" to read-only color of input field.

Multi-coloured text in table cell

I have a table where individual cells can have multi-coloured text. To do this I use html when I set the text in a cell renderer. It works fine. However, when the column width is too narrow for the text then the text is wrapped. If the text is not html then the text is not wrapped.
How can I keep the different colours but make sure the text is not wrapped?

I never want the text to wrap even if the column width is too small for the text.
If the text of the renderer was set to abcdefghijklmnand the column is only large enough to show the first 10 chars then the user (obviously) would only see the first 10 chars.
If I now set the text to <html>ab<font color="#ff0000">cde</font>fghijklmn</html> then, assuming the column is wide enough, the user will see all the text but cde is shown in red.
However, if the column width is now changed so there is only room to show the first 10 chars then the user will only see abcde not as I would hope abcdefghij

How Do I Change the Padding in Table Cells

Hi, I am trying to set up a table that will allow text to fill the entire cell. I know that if I double click an individual cell, the left and right boundaries of the cell will be displayed on the ruler. However, I can't select multiple cells (even in a column) to adjust the boundaries. By default, all cells are created with no padding on the left, but half an inch on the right. I want no padding on the right as well. I know I can change the the tab for the table with the text inspector, after the fact.
So, #1. How can I change the default right cell wrap for all cells in a table?
Additionally, I know how to get rid of the padding above the text (via text property "instant margins"), but I also need to eliminate the padding at the bottom of the text. When I adjust the instant margin, it just moves the text the upper-left corner of the cell, but does not change the vertical size of the cell. I can change the individual row height by grabbing the border and dragging it up, but, again, this is a pain for large table. I know I can also change the overall cell height by dragging the lower table boundary.
#2. How do I change the default cell height so the cell is tight against the text, regardless of the font size, for all cells in a table?
Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, those options will not do what I need.
If I turn off "Wrap text", the text overflows the cell and the text in the adjacent cell to the right will hidden. I still want the text to wrap, just not half an inch from the right border.
And the "Resize to fit" changes the cell width, which I want to keep the cell at a static width.
One workaround I found, was to modify the table as needed, using text properties, and then save the table as the table default. Unfortunately, that overwrites the factory default, and new table's tabs in other templates (all other properties seem to be retained)
The second option that seems to work, is to save my entire document as a template. That seems to hold all the properties for graphics, tables, etc.
A bit kludgy, but those methods seem to do the trick.
Now, how do I get the default table properties back?

Changing Colour of only selected cells in MS excel..??

I read in SAP Help that it is possible to change formatting (colour, border etc) for few cells using style sheets, so after doing the required changes and storing it under new style name when I press SAVE on screen 3 of layout builder it changes the colour for all the other cells in my layout sheet..and if i rerun the layout if all the cells come in the changed color..plzz give me any suggestion how to go about doing it..??
and is there any way to insert subheadings/rows in my layout..?..I am only able to do it by making the row as comparison column which requires me to assign some values in all my lead columns for that specific row..which looks just same like any other row but I just want it as subheading.

Hi Rohit,
When you change the style it will change all other cells with the same style. The only way I know of to change specific cells is to use the VB exits provided. This will only work if you are not using the web.
As for your row. If you have defined the layout as one with specific row definitions you can create blank lines in the layout by giving a row number with no selections. You can then put your sub-heading directly in the excel.

How to find changes done for a table

Hi All,
We have a customized trasparent table , for which table log is not maintained. There is a change in data for this table and we want to find out who has done the changes and when .
We are using SAP R/3 4.6c with Oracle 8.1.7
Please let us know if there is any way to sort this out .

as you told us that it is a customizing table .. there should not be many changes.
If you don't activate the table log ... then you can only go over the logminer of oracle (it is much easier, if you know a timeframe in which the data maybe changed):

You will not see which user has done the change but you will find the abap program and with that information you can go to ST03n and have a look which user called this program.

Can't change the background of table cells on a page with CSS

New CSS guy here, so excuse me if I sound stupid! I built up
a site with DW8 using CSS for basic page formatting. The site is a
new version of an old one I did in GoLive. I copied/pasted a fairly
large table onto the new site in DW, and the table came in fine,
the text was now the font and style of the main style sheet. But, I
can't format the table itself now. The header rows were filled blue
with white text, as an example.
I can change the bg color down in the toolbar like old times,
but nothing actually changes on the screen. I'm assuming it's being
overridden somehow by my CSS style sheet?
What would I have to do to get back this formatting
functionality?

if log the table , it records the changes made to the data in the
table , where it stores the data.

Problem updating table Cell display

Hi, any ideas about this problem would be very much appreciated Ive had it for 6 months but have been unable to get to the bottom of it.
I have an application which contains a JSplitPane with two tables , when the application starts both tables contain the same data. The 1st table is a read view, the bottom display is an edit view. When I make a change to a table cell in the bottom view it changes colour and the corresponding cell in the top view also changes it colour (bit not value) to indicate that the cell has been edited.
The problem is that the top cell only changes colour if the top cell as displayed is large enough to show the complete value. If i then click on the cell in the top view it will correctly change colour. If I move the columns in the top pane about a bit, all subsequent modifications in the bottom pane will correctly change the cell colour in the top pane !
(My renderer extends JPanel rather than JLabel.)

Make sure you fire the appropriate fireTableCellUpdated() method from both TableModel's so that the view knows to redraw that cell. Ideally, both of your tables would share the same table model, but only one would allow editing. You could accomplish that by putting a facade table model over top the real table model that just overrode the isEditable method to reutrn false always, and all other methods would pass through to the real model. That way as changes were made to the table model (no matter who made the change), the views would stay in sync because they were based on the same model, getting all the same events, etc.

How to find out the page number a cell is on

Hi folks,
after importing a XML table into an InDesign document and autofilling it, I need a way to find the page a specific table cell is on.
I tried to iterate over all cells but it seems that there is no property or so, which tells me which page the current cell is on.
I really would appreciate any hints how I could tackle this problem...

myPageNumberStartingWithZero = myCell.texts[0].insertionPoints[0].parentTextFrames[0].parentPage.documentOffset;
Instead of a number, you could also ask for the "name" property of the parentPage. But this might not be unique…

Locked table cell?

Our studio inherited an ID3 document. A portion of the table cells are locked. When you mouse over with any of the arrow tools it seems fine. As soon as you try to select the text the lock icon shows up. We're not able to unlock the cell (no unlock item shows up in the menu).
We did try copying the table to a brand new document, which unlocked the cells in question. However, when we edit the text, it also applies the changes to yet another table cell (almost like it was cloning the text).
I've never seen anything like this. We're wondering if this was repurposed from a Quark doc or something.
Any insight is appreciated. TIA

But here's a different solution that works a lot better than the goofy white box. Suppress the header in the first frame. To do this, create the entire header, such as "Header 2 (Continued)" and then choose Table > Table Options > Headers and Footers and select Skip First. Then, in the first frame, type the header text, such as "Header 2" in the first line of body text, and apply the same formatting you use in the header.

Could you please let me know how to change the coluor of the cell at table.
here i m having a column called "STATUS". i m getting data from backend and filling this column with two values(success/failed).
when i get success, the cell should be in green color, when it is failed cell color should be red.
i followd below:
created a context attribute "color" of type
com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.TableCellDesign
i binded this with the column proerty "cellDesign".
when i executed bapi i sohlud get different colors according to output.
here is my execute function

Hi,
For your scenario, you need to have two cellVariant as TableStandardCell (say successTSC & failTSC). Add tableCellEditors to these 2 TableStandardCell as you like. Mark there variantKey property as var1 & var2 respectively.
Do change the cellDesign as you like the color for the TableStandardCell.
Bind an attribute selectedVariant to your column selectedCellVariant property.
Now in wdDoModify you can write:

Then you have your code set up incorrectly because the css
that you have
provided should work.
Can you provide a link to the page in question or supply the
full
code/css of the table in which these links are inserted.
