Find datafile for a table (Urgent)

Is there a way to find a datafile for a non-partitioned table.
For examples
Table 'A' belong to tablespace 'T'
tablespace 'T' has 2 files 'F1' and 'F2' both in different filesystem in unix.
I need to run a huge load on table 'T'
I need to find which file system should have enough space for this load.

Here an example to find the file name and the size taken by the table:
SELECT a.name,sum(nvl(b.bytes/1024,0)) from dba_extents b, v$dbfile a
where b.owner='X'
and b.segment_name='A' and
b.file_id=a.file#
group by a.name

Yes, permissions are very important. I ran into a similar problem because I didn't have the correct permissions. Make sure the user has the following permissions:
CREATE ANY TABLE
ALTER ANY TABLE
DROP ANY TABLE
CREATE ANY PROCEDURE
EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE
DROP ANY PROCEDURE
Also, make sure there is enough space in the default tablespace of that user.

how to find which lock object is used for the table T001b...
i want to lock a record of the table t001b before righting the select query and then do some mofification and the unlock it again..
plz can any one tell me how to do this...

Hi Neha,
When you create a lock object System automatically creat two function module.
1. ENQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. to insert the object in a queue.
2. DEQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. To remove the object is being queued through above FM.
You have to use these function module in your program.

Log Miner is finding DDL for "new" tables, but also DML for "older" tables.

oracle 10.2.0.5.0 Standard Edition
(at some point in the past it was "downgraded" from enterprise edition).
It's making me crazy, i create a table then insert/update rows. Log miner only shows me the create.
However, if i do insert/update on an "older" table, i see the DML. The tables are in the same tablespace, both logging, and the database is forcing logging.
I'm out of ideas, and input would be appreciated.

apparently this is an issue with the database configuration and not log miner. I ran the same test against the prodcution database and got both the DDL and DML. I used exactly the same test script including the logminer "setup" , obviously changing the name of the log files and the name of a directory.

I am having a table (REPT_ALL) with dependent objects on it ( child tables, indexes, constraints, views, synonyms, sequences , packages,procedures,functions,triggers).
I want the query to find out all the above dependencies for the above table(REP_ALL).
I m looking for the query to find dependencies inorder to find out the risks before dropping the above table(drop table REP_ALL cascade constraints)?

To find foreign key constraints for a table you cannot use DBA_DEPENDENCIES but you have to use DBA_CONSTRAINTS.

Hi Gurus,
I need to find out tcode for Standard SAP table in SCM APO '/SAPAPO/PBMVWT' for maintaining Plannning book text in different languages.
The problem is that Table maintainance is not maintained so SM30 wont work. I tried Where used list option for table but no tcode or report found using this table..

Hi,
there is no maintenance txn. If you need to have text in different languages, you need to do it as follows:
- logon for example once in english
- goto txn /SAPAPO/SDP8B
- maintain the text in English and activate the planning book.
- Logon in the other Language
- enter /SAPAPO/SDP8B again
- Type in the text in the other language and activate the Planning book again.
This will give the planning book language specific texts.

TRM for FOUNDATION Tables

I came to know that TRM is such a good reference for all tables in Oracle Apps.
I got some TRMs in PDF format from Oracle website. I couldn't find any PDF for FOUNDATION tables.
Where can i find the TRM for FOUNDATION Tables.

I think you can use one of the built-in db functions ... (but it depends upon which database you're using)
in sql server:

Please advice how can I find the respective table name in R/3 for a particular BW DataSource ?
P/S : I would like a technical how-to instead of referring the table names at HELP.SAP.COM

   2) OLTPSOURCE -> 0CO_OM_CCA_4
   3) EXMETHOD = F1
     (Hence, I assume the Extraction Method is a Function Module)
   4) So, Function Module = BWOM_RS_GET_CTRSTA
   5) Run SE37 in R/3
      How do I find out the specific tables in this Function Module ?
      Would you please list them for me, so I can further refer to the individual tables ?

I want to find out the last updated time stamp of a table. Is there some thing available with the sys tables. Is there something can be done with user_objects.
Or, is there any need to write pl/sql code to get the last updated timestamp for a table.

Select * from user_objects.I belieive it gives you the last_ddl_time not the time a update or delete was done.
Not sure if we have this feature in any new release.

I will suggest if you planto audit then use the audit feature based on your DB version.
Or to make it more simple have a column called modified_date and update this column whenever you update the record.

after selecting the database table radio button
click on the where used list button in the application tool bar.
You will find the table name if it is used else where.
