Find distinguished name (DN) in AD MA

How can I use Powershell to retrieve a user's DN (cn=xx,ou=xx,dc=xxx) from the Active Directory MA.
When I use export-fimconfig I can find a particular Person using a given accountname but that doesn't show me the DN.
Looking at the AD connector space in the Sync Manager, I can see the the correct DN on the preview page (Source object Distiguished Name (DN).

you could use WMI
$accountName = "AccountName"
$domain      = "DomainName"
# MAGuid from mms_management_agent table in FIMSynchronizationService database
$MAGuid      = "ax6bfd08-180d-4d61-94ea-cce17e5c8524}"
$Computer    = "."
$Class       = "MIIS_CSObject"
$filter      = "Account=`'$accountName`' and Domain = '$($domain)' "
$MC          = Get-WmiObject $class -computer $Computer -Namespace "ROOT\MicrosoftIdentityIntegrationServer" -filter $filter
# result in $MC.dn ->
$MC.dn

  • How to retrieve distinguished name from EndpointContext?

    I am building a web service on OAS10.1.3 that uses X509 authentication and LDAP as the security provider in its security configuration. I would like to extract the authenticated user's identity in the form of its full distinguished name, but the ServletEndpointContext API only returns the common name of the authenticated user.
    Here is a simplified version of the code I am using to get the user's distinguished name:
    public class MyService implements javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle {
    private javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext context;
    public void init(Object obj) throws javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException {
    context = (javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext)obj;
    public String helloUser(String message) throws java.rmi.RemoteException {
    java.security.Principal principal = context.getUserPrincipal();
    return principal.getName();
    public void destroy() {
    context = null;
    context.getUserPrincipal only returns the common name in my application. I suspect that there is some security handler deployment descriptor that I do not have configured correctly, but can't seem to locate the correct documentation. Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Dayn

    I figured this out. Apparently, the concrete class implementing the Principal interface is not one of the known implementing classes such as X500Principal, but rather an undocumented (at least I can't find any) class: oracle.security.jazn.oc4j.JAZNUserAdaptor. Once the jazn.jar is added to my JDeveloper project properties, I can access the methods. Here is a code snippet:
    public String getDN(ServletEndpointContext ctx) {
    String principalDN = "Unknown";
    Principal principal = null;
    if (ctx != null) {
    principal = ctx.getUserPrincipal();
    if (principal != null) {
    principalDN = principal.getName();
    if (principal instanceof JAZNUserAdaptor) {
    JAZNUserAdaptor user = (JAZNUserAdaptor)principal;
    principalDN = user.getRealmUser().getFullName();
    return principalDN;
    }

  • WebtopNaming - can not find server name for server ID

    We have a LB, and web servers in front of OpenSSO app servers in our environment.
    OpenSSO debug log CoreSystem fills up with lot of errors like these:
    ERROR: WebtopNaming.getServerFromID() can not find server name for server ID : 07
    com.iplanet.services.naming.ServerEntryNotFoundException: Cannot find server.
    Sometimes, it even complains about a server id (07 in the following trace) which doesn't even exist in the Site Id Table.
    There are no changes in the configuration. DNS is properly configured and all the servers and their connectivity are available. CoreSystem throws these errors even after a restart of opensso app servers.
    Any ideas about the root cause?

    Here is my site configuration in OpenSSO:
    There are 4 servers in the two opensso hosts (2 secure, 2 non secure)
    Servers:
    http://host4.company.com:8080/openSSO
    http://host5.company.com:8080/openSSO
    https://host4.company.com:8443/openSSO
    https://host5.company.com:8443/openSSO
    Only one site with secure URLs is configured
    Sites:
    site1
    Primary URL: https://opensso-qa.company.com:443/openSSO
    Assigned Servers:
    https://host4.company.com:8443/openSSO
    https://host5.company.com:8443/openSSO
    From the CoreSystem log, Server ID definitions are:
    https://host4.company.com:8443/openSSO=01
    https://host5.company.com:8443/openSSO=02
    https://opensso-qa.company.com:443/openSSO=03
    http://host4.company.com:8080/openSSO=04
    http://host5.company.com:8080/openSSO=05
    Sometimes it throws an exception with existing server IDs. But sometimes it also complains about non existing server IDs.

  • Crystal Reports XI and Sun One 6.1 web server SP 5 Error finding JNDI name

    I am trying to create a Crystal Reports XI report in a JSP using Sun One 6.1 Web server sp 5.
    At this point I am getting the error Error finding JNDI name on Sun One
    The application will run on Netbeans/Tomcat
    I have done the following:
    I edited CRConfig.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <CrystalReportEngine-configuration>

  • How to find the Names of Most costly Views or Most Time consuming views

    Hi All,
    I had a database consisting of almost 200 views,as a part of Optimization process i want to find out the most costlier views.How to do that.Actually i want the names of the VIEWS,so that i can optimize that.Can any one help me out?
    I had one more doubt in our Database a view is created like view A( which is created by joining several tables).so do i need to add index on this view separately or does it take the index of the tables which i joined? And in our Database i  had created

  • How can I find the name of a file I downloaded four months ago?

    I downloaded a file on either February 15th or 16th. Embarrassingly, I've lost the file, simply by forgetting its name. I need to be able to search my download history, by date. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I know that the history is kept that long, and that I haven't erased the history. Finding the date that I visited the website was easy using history and an approximate date, but download history is less intuitive.
    And, no, revisiting the website doesn't help; the only way to find the name of the file there (it's an ebook) is to buy it again, which is NOT what I wish to do.
    This was in Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, with FireFox v. 28.0 (yes, I know it's outdated; I haven't been using that computer much lately). I don't know what version of FireFox was installed at the time of the download -- whatever was most current at the time, as I usually make a practice of installing updates.

    The downloads folder in the history manager? I'm not sure what you mean.
    When I click on History, I see what I've put in the screenshot. Then it starts telling me where I've been today. Nothing about downloads, per se. I've been getting at those through Tools/Downloads.
    I have FireFox set up to ask me where downloads should go, rather than automatically sending them to my Downloads folder in Windows, and even if it had automatically saved to Downloads, it wouldn't still be there now.
    In a pinch, I suppose I could skip the first few in the downloads list, and then start right-clicking on individual downloads and selecting Go To Download Page, but I was hoping there might be some way to narrow it down, by getting at the date on downloads. That's fairly easy in History, but I don't see any way to do it in Tools/Downloads.

  • How to find JSFF name in managed bean

    Hi Gurus,
    I am new in adf and using 11.1.2.3. How i can find the name of jsff page name in managed bean.  For example if i have abc.jsf contains a fragment xyz.jsff. i want when i click on button in jsff page, a pop shows me the name it is xyz.jsff.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    to get the page name,FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().getViewId() (returns abc.jsf). If you expose the page fragment through an ADF region, then the call is
    ControllerContext.getInstance().getCurrentViewPort().getViewId() (returns xyz if the view activity has the same name as the physical file xyz.jsff)

  • How to find out name of table for a structure.

    hello all,
                I want to find out name of table for a structure ADDR1_DATA. can anybody pls tell me how to find out it?
    Thanks,
    Ashu

    Hi Ashu,
    You write the structure name in se11
    after selecting the database table radio button
    click on the where used list button in the application tool bar.
    You will find the table name if it is used else where.

  • How to find table name for the fields from Standard Extractor in CRM system

    How to find table name of fields from the standard extractor in CRM system ?
    e.g. We use LBWE TCode in R/3 system to find table name for the field from Extractor VCSCL(e.g.).
    Likewise is there any way to find table name for the fields from Standard extractor like 0CRM_LEAD_I.

    Hi ,
    Please find the link below for understanding BW CRM analysis.
    http://help.sap.com/bp_biv135/html/bw.htm
    activate the CRM DSs by scenario:
    1) Activate the application component hierarchy (tcode RSA9). Changes made to the application component hierarchy in the CRM system can be transferred to the BW using the "Edit Application Component Hierarchy" (SBIW - Postprocessing of DataSources).
    SAP Note 434886 must be implemented in CRM 3.0 before the application component hierarchy is activated.
    2) Activate the Business Content DataSources (tcode RSA5).
    Select/enter the application component and choose Execute (F8).
    To compare the shipped and active versions, choose the 'Select Delta' pushbutton. If there is no active version of the DataSource, it is selected automatically.
    To activate the shipped version, choose the 'Transfer DataSources' pushbutton.
    3) Management of the versions of the BW-Adapter metadata (tcode BWA5). All DataSources are displayed that are managed by the BW Adapter.
    As in transaction RSA5 (Service API Metadata Activation), the 'Select Delta' function can be used to select the inactive DataSources or compare shipped and active versions.
    You can also go directly to the screen for maintaining DataSources that are managed by the BW Adapter.
    The 'Compare Version' function makes a detailed comparison of the shipped and active versions.
    All BW-Adapter metadata is considered when versions are compared:
    Header information (Table SMOXHEAD)
    Mapping information (Table SMOXRELP)
    Global selection conditions (Table SMOXGSEL)
    Attribute key fields (Table SMOXAFLD)
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I find the name of an append structure?

    Lets say I want to add a field to the component BT115QS_SLSQ (Sales quote search).
    I enhanced the component and the view (SlsQuotSQ).
    If I go to the context nodes and the context node BTQSLSQUOT.
    I can see the implementation class ZL_BT115QS_SLSQUOTESQ_CN00.
    If I go inside of this class I see a tab attributes with a field called base_entity_name
    the initial value is BTQSlsQuot for this attribute.
    But how would I ever know that the append strcture name for this component / view is CRMST_QUERY_SLSQUOT_BTIL ???
    I only displayed it above becuase I did endless searches and realized this is the one.  But is there an easier way to find the append strcture name so that when I go to SE11 I can either copy and paste it in or type it in.  Is there somewhere in the workbench or anywhere which tells me its in this case CRMST_QUERY_SLSQUOT_BTIL ???
    How do I find this name ?

    Edit:
    FOUND THE ANSWER!
    Here is a complete document I put together for anyone else with this issue.
    I would really love to blog SAP issues like this because there seems to be very little help on the forums for the CRM Web client side :(...
    Purpose
    The purpose of this document is to explain how to find the append structure and how to use it.
    Problem
    Letu2019s say I want to add a field to the component BT115QS_SLSQ (Sales quote search).
    I enhanced the component and the view (SlsQuotSQ).
    If I go to the context nodes and the context node BTQSLSQUOT (this is in the context nodes area)
    I can see the implementation class ZL_BT115QS_SLSQUOTESQ_CN00.
    If I go inside of this class I see a tab attributes with a field called base_entity_name
    the initial value is BTQSlsQuot for this attribute.
    That is the key here, in order to determine the append structure to use when going into SE11 you need to know the name of the base_entity_name.  In the above case the base entity name is BTQSlsQuot.
    That means you need to use BTQSlsQuot
    Step By Step Procedure
    1)     Get the base entity name as described above
    2)     Once the base entity name is given go to transaction GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER
    3)     Enter a component or a component set like so:
    a.
    4)     Press the green check box
    5)     For model select u201CDynamic Search Objectsu201D (for this particular case because we are trying to add a field to a dynamic search)
    6)     Select u201CDynamic Query Object BTQSlsQuotu201D
    7)     Once you expand this you should be given the attribute structure as shown below:
    Now you have the attribute structure name CRMST_QUERY_SLSQUOT_BTIL
    How To Use Append Structure
    Now that youu2019ve found the append structure to use it follow these steps:
    1)     Go to SE11
    2)     Click radio button Data type
    3)     Enter CRMST_QUERY_SLSQUOT_BTIL
    4)     Click display like so:
    a.
    5)     Click the u201Cappend structureu2026u201D button at the top right
    6)     Add the field as a ZZ field and enter the data type like so:
    a.

  • How do we find instance name in ORACLE 10g

    Hi All,
    How do we find SID name in Oracle 10g
    Thanks in advance
    Pandiarajan

    Apology accepted.
    But yes, of course I was harsh (not at you, actually, but at the plonker who thinks he can tell me that 'echo $something' is "not right").
    Do you know how many questions could be answered here if people weren't forever debating perfectly acceptable answers? If people actually stopped to read what had been written before deciding to add their tuppence-worth? If people stopped to think, "well, that's not how I would answer it... but it's good enough".
    I see so many threads here where 58 people dive in to a thread to say, 'Me too'. Another 42 will dive in to say, 'that's not right' when actually it is. And another 137 or so will usually chime in to say nothing very much except to demonstrate that they didn't understand something that was explained a lot earlier on quite clearly. Threads go on and on, when actually all that was sought originally was a simple answer to a technical issue. God knows why it happens.
    I have no problem at all being asked for clarification. I have no problem at all being corrected and having someone point out that actually that parameter doesn't exist, you made a typo, that's not the command to achieve X. When I am technically wrong, I would expect nothing less. But where so much of my time gets wasted is demonstrated in this thread perfectly. I answered the question in one post. It might not have been a perfect answer. There are many different ways of coming up with the answer on Windows, for example, and yet I didn't mention the registry at all or the Control Panel/System applet for checking environment variables once. And yet, despite all of that, in answer 1 there was sufficient information to make the OP happy. But no, that's not enough to shut some people up (and I am again not referring to you at this point).
    I don't know what it is. Some sense of, maybe, in a democracy my opinion is as good as yours even if it's entirely unnecessary, potentially confusing and adds absolutely nothing to the outcome? A desire on the part of some people to boost their post numbers?
    Too right I'm harsh. I am results-driven. I am here because I want to help others. Not because I think my opinions deserve a hearing even though the answer was posted ages ago. When I see something that looks like the opposite of that -grandstanding, look how clever I am, my opinion counts too- yeah, it annoys me somewhat. And largely because I usually end up having to untangle the confusion caused by unnecessary "contributions" from others.
