Find JAR file

Hi all,
I try to compile a KM project with NetWeaver Developer Studio but I miss the following class:
com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.IResourceEventReceiverBulk
In witch jar file is it ?
I don't find a old link to KM JAVADOCS under KM area, it's desappeared!
Someone can help me ?
Thanks in advance.
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
The class com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.IResourceEventReceiverBulk is located in com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.par - bc.rf.framework_api.jar.
You can find the required <a href="https://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/nw_kmc/javadoc/overview-summary.html">API here</a>.

Pooja.

  • Where to find .jar files so I can implement import java.util.logging

    I'm trying to figure out how to take an application built for Websphere and port it to WebLogic. I've come across this blog entry http://blogs.sun.com/fkieviet/entry/using_java.util.logging_in_bea_weblogic and would like to try creating and using the startup class.
    I have not been able to find the correct jar files.
    import weblogic.common.T3ServicesDef;
    import weblogic.common.T3StartupDef;
    import weblogic.logging.LoggingHelper;
    In reading the documentation on using the NonCatalogLogger APIs at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/i18n/writing.html I also see some code calling for the following imports
    import weblogic.jndi.Environment;
    import weblogic.logging.NonCatalogLogger;
    1. Does anyone know where I can grab these?
    2. There must be a strategy for finding these .jars that people use. If so, what is it?

    I thought I understood you, but the more I look at what you've set here, I'll just be honest and admit that the I don't know what you are saying here:
    'You should be able to add the "weblogic.jar" in the WebLogic distribution to your classpath.' - What doe this mean?
    1. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath / Libraries - Select Add external JARS and navigate to the weblogic.jar
    2. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath / Libraries - Select Add Library and try to go from there?
    3. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath / Libraries - Select Add Variable and try to go from there?
    4. Go to my xxxWeb app Dynamic Web Project and right-click and select Build Path / Configure Build Bath and do something else?
    5. Something else?
    Also, I don't know what you mean here:
    'You don't need to (and you shouldn't) copy that jar file, just have it in your compilation classpath. It will be present automatically at runtime.'
    Sorry for being so simple here but I've been trouble shooting why I can't follow what look like pretty simple steps to implement over-riding the ApplicationLifecycleListener Class to use existing java.util.logging.Logger code by adding the following to the the weblogic-application.xml:
    <wls:listener>
         <wls:listener-class>com.qualcomm.weblogic.log.listener.UtilLogWrapper</wls:listener-class>
    </wls:listener>
    And including as a referenced jar file, a simple POJO class instance of com.qualcomm.weblogic.log.listener.UtilLogWrapper.
    My resrouces for this are:
    1. http://blogs.sun.com/fkieviet/entry/using_java.util.logging_in_bea_weblogic.
    2. http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/drolet-ant.html.
    Maybe my weblogic.jar is at the root of the problem.
    I hope you can 'dumb this down' for me with a simple explanation of steps to do what you outlined above.

  • Help finding JAR files containing a specific class

    I Need to find the JAR file containing the java class/type com.sap.engine.frame.ServiceException
    <i><b>Frank</b></i>

    Hi Frank,
    The easiest solution will be searching for class names in Windows search like: Search for files *.jar and contains text xyz.class.
    If you find a particular jar then open it using WinZip and you can locate the class file.

  • Finding jar files

    import javax.mail.*;
    import javax.mail.internet.*;
    i need jar files for the javax.
    can anybody help me out in this.
    also i would like to know how to know which jar file we need for every import.
    is there any better way to know about them.

    I think there is something named like mail.jar that java provides. Look in the Java Mail API documentation/walkthrough for details on where to download it from.
    There is no really easy way to figure out what jar file is required for an import since Jar files can be named anything, and are basically an archive of class or java files.

  • Can't find jar file

    I am attempting to implement an applet in a pl/sql package. Basically I have copied the format for an implementation in another pl/sql package successfully running on the same server.
    The other package successfully shows the required applet.
    I am using IE 5.5 with the java 1.4.0 plugin
    The code used for the applet
    <APPLET NAME="me" code="ptolemy.plot.plotml.PlotMLApplet" WIDTH="700" HEIGHT="500"
    CODEBASE="/ptolemy/"
    ARCHIVE="plot/plotmlapplet.jar"
    </APPLET>
    Where ptolemy.plot is the directory the jar file is in and
    ptolemy.plot.plotml is the package for the PlotMLApplet.class
    I popped this code in my application after and it worked OK although I am not sure why the jar file needed to be in that directory but that is the ONLY way it will run.
    However when I put this code in instead
    <APPLET NAME="me" code="detail.plan.MyPlan" WIDTH="700" HEIGHT="500" ;
    CODEBASE="/detail/"
    ARCHIVE="plan/plotmlapplet.jar"
    </APPLET>
    where the package is detail.plan and the jar file is in detail/plan it doesn't work.
    This is the error in the java console

    I'm not sure if the jar file is the problem or the class files. There are only two class files and I compiled thwem in jdk1.3.1
    I am sure that the jar file was ftp'd correctly as i retrieved it and checked the magic numbers of the classes inside.
    trying to do this with just the class files doesn't work either.
    Any help much appreciated. This is turning into a real hair puller of a problem.

  • Can't find jar-file in DC

    Hello,
    I'm developing a JSPDynpage with beans.
    These beans connect to an R/3-system.
    I want to make use of the Connector Framework.
    I added the needed used DC's to my development component, but I'm still missing 1 jar-file with the IConnectorGateService-class (i think its the connectorserviceapi.jar) wich DC do I have to add to my used DC's?

    Hello,
    Ok, Then you have to create a seperate DC if type "<b>EXTERNAL Library</b>" , And then make it as a public part for use by other DC's. For more information you can try do like this.
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2361">Add External Jar to DC</a>
    I hope this will solve your problem.

  • Parsing xml with dom4j - cannot find jar file

    Hi,
    I'm using Jdeveloper 10g and tomcat 5.5.9. I have a servlet which calls a java class (ParseXML.java) that trys to parse an xml string using dom4j. A snippet of ParseXML.java...
    import org.dom4j.Document;
    import org.dom4j.DocumentException;
    import org.dom4j.io.SAXReader;
    public class ParseXML  {
    public ParseXML(String xml) {
              this.XML_STRING = xml;
         public String parse() {
              SAXReader reader = new SAXReader();
              Document document = null;
              try  {
                   document = reader.read(XML_STRING);
                   } catch (DocumentException de)  {
                   return de.getMessage();
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   return e.getMessage();
                   return "The xml root value is: " + document.getRootElement().getName();
    } I've downloaded the dom4j 1.6.1 jar and put it on the project class path (specified in the jdev project proerties), and my code also compiles ok. But when i try to instantiate ParseXML from my servlet i get a runtime exception:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet execution threw an exception

         javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802I'm not sure if this is a class path issue or something else; i've checked and rechecked the classpath and nothing seems amiss.
    Suggestions, anyone?

    Question: Is it really necessary to use a
    StringReader if my xml document is not saved to disk?
    I get XML_STRING from a web service, convert it into
    a xml document so i can manipulate/parse it, but then
    i don't save the document, i just discard it. How
    does my system's default character set affect string
    manipulations that i do within my java app?Your system's default charset doesn't have anything to do with string manipulations, if by that you mean substrings and concatenations of strings. It is used when you convert strings to bytes and bytes to strings. If your string contains a character that can't be handled by your default charset, then converting that string to bytes will put ? in place of that character. Converting those bytes back to a string will leave the ? as is. Thus your string has been changed.
    Also converting the string to bytes can have bad results, because the first thing the XML parser does is to convert the bytes back to a string, using the charset declared in the XML. If this charset is different from your system's default, then your XML may be corrupted by this process if it contains characters that are encoded differently in the two charsets. The typical example of this is European accented letters like , which are encoded differently in ISO-8859-1 or Windows-1252 (most people's default charsets) and UTF-8 (the default XML charset).
    Besides, converting the string to bytes just so it can be immediately converted back to a string is rather wasteful.

  • Need inputs for creating Jar file

    Hi All,
      I am doing the scenario as file to mail. so here i am using java mappings for sending the file in mail attachment.
    as i can see in my system there are already one imported archive exists with name called "java_mappings".
    in that i can find 10 to 12 mapings which are used for different interface.
    i have tried to export the imported archive to my local system and created the project with same in NWDS.
    but here i can not find jar file.
    can anyone suggest how can i get jar file for already exist the imported archive.
    second option is if i want to create new mappings then how can i get the Jar file.
    thanks,
    Bhaskar

    Hi Bhaskar,
    Jar file is an archive which consists of all class files needed by Java mapping. If you have a folder named Java_mapping and you guess that it is being used in different interfaces, then it should have the class files in it... may be the source code is missing...
    I will suggest you to export it into your local machine and extract using winzip.. then you might see some file with .class extesnion. Try a tool like frontendplus which will make java code from java class file to get there code..
    Now if you are trying to make one for your requirement i would suggest to read the stefan grube blog..
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=%28J2EE3414700%29ID1981012450DB01072979760660502867End?blog=/pub/wlg/4774
    Also note that the java mapping is just a jar file which has:
    1. the com.sap.xpi.ib.mapping.lib.jar (PI7.1) or aii_map_api.jar (PI7.0 or XI3.0) file
    2. You java code class file.

  • Execution from JAR files and Classpaths -- Help

    I am confused about how classes are resolved when running from within a JAR file, and why this is different than running a class that is not inside a JAR file.
    I have an application that uses classes from a third party library stored in a JAR file (biojava.jar) . If I run the app from the class file it works as expected and is capable of finding the external classes when the path to the biojava.jar is on my classpath. It also works if biojava.jar is instead placed in the extensions folder jre/lib/ext folder without an explicit path entry in my classpath.
    However when I package all my application classes up in a JAR file and try to execute the application from the JAR file it will ONLY work if I add a manifest entry to myApp.jar ... Class-Path: biojava.jar AND I place the file biojava.jar in the SAME directory as the Packaged JAR application. I would like to find a way to make this JAR file work for anyone who has biojava.jar in their classpath or ext directory. In other words I don't want my user community to have to copy the biojava.jar file when I email them myApp.jar. This community will already have biojava.jar on their CLASSPATH.
    How can I make my app within a JAR recognize either the user's CLASSPATH or ext folder? I have tried reading the documentation and many experiments but the only way it works is as described above.
    I am running Running Windows 2000.
    java version "1.4.1_01"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_01-b01)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.1_01-b01, mixed mode)
    Here are the results of my experimentations:
    The following Works:
    Manifest: Main-Class: org/biojava/app/SequenceSpiral
    Manifest: Class-Path: biojava.jar
    Place biojava.jar in the same directory as SequenceSpiral.jar
    java -jar SequenceSpiral.jar
    This works perfectly
    NONE of the following work
    0) Placing biojava.jar in my jre/lib/ext directory instead of the same dir as SequenceSpiral.jar
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/biojava/bio/seq/FeatureFilter

    Thank you very much for any help or suggestions,
    David Maynard

    I did some more testing and I think I now understand what is going on.
    I don't like it, but at least I understand it.
    The problem: I have an app packaged into a JAR file, myApp.jar. It has a dependancy upon an external JAR file extern.jar.
    extern.jar is on my Classpath (and also in jre/lib/ext)
    1) For some reason (bug?) java -jar myApp.jar does NOT use the classpath or the jre/lib/ext mechanisms to find .jar files needed to resolve references to external classes. This seems to be true even if you add an explicit -classpath argument on the command line!
    thus
    java -jar -cp c:\\absolutePathToMy\extern.jar myApp.jar
    also fails as does
    java -cp c:\\absolutePathToMy\extern.jar -jar myApp.jar
    2) Inside the myApp Jar file you can specify a URL to an jar extension jar file but the URL IS RELATIVE TO THE PATH WHERE THE myApp.Jar is executed from! If I add the Manifest item Class-Path: ..\..\..\myexterndir\extern.jar then
    java -jar myApp.jar
    works correctly and resolves the external references.
    This is why several people have reported that this class-path mechanism works ONLY when the extern.jar file is in the SAME DIRECTORY as the myApp.jar file when they had added a Class-Path: extern.jar to the Manifest.
    However together these two items make it IMPOSSIBLE to distribute myApp.jar to others and have it work since the path names statically encoded inside the jar are relative to where the jar gets executed from. If I move myApp.jar to a different location on my hard drive it may also fail.
    In my case I know all my customers already have extern.jar (5MB) installed on their classpaths and I would like to just send them the myApp.jar ( .5MB ).
    However I don't see how to do this given the current specification of a JAR file, and the bug that makes all -jar file act like they have the Sealed=true property.
    I tried explicity setting Sealed=false in the manifest but this didn't seem to have any effect.
    I hope that this will save others the many hours of time it has taken be to determine that JARS are not well suited for deploying apps with dependenncies on external libs.
    I also hope that someone can show me how execute a JAR and specify a classpath that doesn't get IGNORED my the classloader used in loading the jar classes.
