Finding Used Objects by applications in Schema of Database

I want to list all the tables and indexes that are hitted by the front application (Using SELECT option only for now).
Is it possible to find name of such tables and indexes in the schema which are hitted while using warehouse queries, where number of tables and indexes are in thousands, using Oracle Internal Dictionaries?

How to use object defined in another schema

I define an object in schema1 and try to use it in schema2. To use, I have to add the schema name to the object when I use it like something below:
var1 schema1.clientobj;
Is there any way to work around so I don't have to specify the schema name?

The is no way to work around. You have to specify the schema name.

I compare this situation to myne, like we had situation where we want to drop an used column or alter the column to different data type..
The first question is where all it is refered and out of references what all needs a change.
Leaving application side, DB side we do following
1.look for static bind gives 80% of results
2. look for dynamic binds with source available in objects, ie column name mentioned as string in source code of object.
meets 5%
3.by naming standards of db , if a table is holding any scripts or table names 5%
4. now we are left with very little risk of unknown area.
do changes with column go for testing , will report any left outs..5%
5. rest 5% we can get in post production bugs..
But my point here is that you can easly use development tools along with text search features of your os or text utilities to achive the same results than writing pl/sql program and parsing and maintaining and debugging this script you wrote.

Using TOAD and SQL Developer to compare db objects in schemas in databases

Hi All,
My primary objective was to compare objects in schemas in two different databases and find out the differences,
Execute DDL's in the database where objects are missing and syn schemas in two different databases.
So I need to compare schemas in databases. Which tool would be helpful and will be user friendly to make a comparison of database objects existing in schemas in two different databases.
I'd like to see if I can get a list of pro and cons between Toad and SQL Developer for comparing schemas pros and cons.
Could you please also help me on navigation in SQL Developer to compare schemas.

Hi,
Most dba type tools have this kind of functionality - personally i use plsqldeveloper but this is very similar to most other tools on the market. SQL Developer seems to rely on you needing the change management pack licence which you likely dont have and would be quite a large cost to roll out.
I'd compare plsqldeveloper/toad/sqlnavigator etc and maybe the tools from redgate which look pretty good though i haven't used them.

Silverlight application (example.xap) doesn't run when call in other pages using "Object tag"

I have silverlight 3 installed with Visual studio 2008. installation is fine.
I have created a silvelight application including a test page.
In my test page I used the "object tag" to call my application as it is suggested since silverlight 3:

At the run time, using the test page my application runs as expected. But when i call the same application in another page i have created, nothing happens: the web page is blank. I wonder why it works with the test page created at the same time with the
silverlight application ( i have checked the radio button that required the test paged creation during the process of the silverlight application) and why it doesn't work with a page created separately.

0- I have visual studio 2008 installed with silverlight 3.
1- I have created a web project with a master page (my master page has a content page )
2- I added a silvelight application: carousel.xap (during its creation I've accepted to add a test page: carouselTestPage.aspx)
3- I added a main page Home.aspx: which inherits from the master page created in step 1, then I call my silverlight application in this content page using the object tag.
Result of the tests during run time:
My silverlight application carousel.xap works fine when I test it with the
carouselTestPage.aspx.
But my silverlight application carousel.xap doesn't work with the main page I added to my web project. the web content page is blank.

so the application source is correctly supplied in the object tag description. so I wonder why it doesn't work with a separate content page in the same web project and work with this embedded Silverlight Test page.

Any way to use a single application but point it to different schemas?

From the searching I have done, it appears that when an end-user runs an application, it can only be associated with a pre-defined schema, which I guess I just need confirmation of. What I was hoping to be able to do was either dynamically change to a different schema at run-time, or create an end-user that is associated with a different schema than the one the application is associated to so the user could use the one application but access a given schema.
The scenario is that in our production environment, we need to maintain a separate schema for each client we manage data for. But we'd like to maintain one application end users would use but could run against any one of the client schemas. However, it seems that we willneed to make a copy of the application within the production workspace for each client schema that would be the owner schema if I understand how this works. Thus, if we have 7 different schemas we would have to have 7 copies of the application, one associated with each application.

Just to give you quick background of my requirement. We have a 3 oracle E-Business versions (11.5.8, 11.5.9 and R12 in future) and APEX installed on another 11g database. We don't want to installed APEX on EBS database because of DB patching issues, our EBS 11i database version is 9i DB, future oracle EBS supoort and at the same time we want to use APEX 3.1.2 with 11g. We want use APEX for custom EBS Web UI development.
We are planning to create separate schema on APEX database for each EBS instance and DB link which points to EBS database. Under APEX schema we are planning to create a view (on our custom table which are same across all EBS instances) using DB link under each schema.
We will develop APEX application under one of the workspace and they deploy to other workspaces. We have also looked into creating APEX pages based on pl/sql procedure and we can do dynamic sql to query data from EBS instances. But its lots of code (create pl/sql api for every table) and we can not take a advantages of some of the APEX build-in wizard like master-detail, APEX record locking etc
Based on your APEX experience; Do you think this the way we should go? OR Is there any better way?.

I've had a look at the TC settings dialog and tried to keep it as simple as possible. I also had a copy of LR 4 on the hard drive so have trashed that also incase of any conflicts. LR seems to be running ok now but as said it's an intermittent problem.
I also have a copy of Capture One on the hard drive so am going to uninstall that also in case it is trying to launch.
