Firefox keeps freezing, I've researched and tried multiple solutions all of which have failed.

I am using Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7. I always have at least 3 tabs open: Yahoo Mail, eBay, and PayPal; I also usually have Facebook and Twitter open, I have tired closing each tab individually to figure out if it was the website causing the issue and the issue still occurs. . I researched my problem for about an hour and found many people having similar problems. I think my Firefox is 'hanging' as mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20hangs. Unfortunately the few things I have tried have not solved my problem. I ran Firefox in safe mode with all plug-ins disabled and the problem still occurred. I checked to see if if it was the CPU usage, my computer normally uses 1-2% for normal browsing but when Firefox freezes it jumps up to 12%. These freezes occur even when Firefox is idle. For example, I am currently using Chrome to tell you about my problem and Firefox just froze for about 45 seconds. These freezes occur roughly every 5 minutes, sometimes less some times more. I am not using an AVG toolbar and my browser is not set on compatibility mode. Please let me know what there is I can do to solve this as Chrome and IE are not suitable for how I work.

I find out it's happened when there's been an update after i restart and an extra webpage comes up with the particular addon/plugin/ff update. I'm using a 2009 Macbook Pro and have installed the lastest update 10.8.1

I've been seeing this for some time now and getting quite sick of it. It happens when I've been away at work for the day and come home to find frozen notifications.
You can fix this temporarily by quitting Notification Centre from Activity Monitor but it keeps happening to me every week or so.

Hi If you get an error message saying your flash is blocked by firewall or needs updating or similar and you just get the spinning colour wheel try this link
It takes you to Adobe which tells you which ver of flash player you have - you can then see if there is a later ver by clicking on the library and it automatically selects the correct version for you to download.

Firefox keeps freezing at start up. Unfreezes after 5-6 minutes works for a while and then does the same till total crash.
Have tried everything. Uninstalled firefox and deleted all profiles from everywhere ( roaming and local in Appdata)
Disabled add ons , started in safe mode , with new profile.
Windows 7 64 ultimate, fully updated, Adobe also fully updated, all fully updated. Though I have noticed it does not recognize the Adobe flash 16 and says Adobe flash15 as an add on. Nowhere the adobe 15 exists though since it's entries also erased from the registry as well.
GHistory and cookies where cleaned multiple times. Checked for malaware but everything is clean. Started PC in safe mode and again the same crashing problem with firefox.
No other browser has problem. IceDragon also no problem and works fine.Neither the Chrome type browsers have any problem.
any help excluding to eraze my Windows and reinstall all the programs again. Not possible to take this risk for just a browser.

Firefox keeps freezing with new tab even in safe mode

Firefox keeps freezing, so there's no chance of even a crash report, I can only get out via TaskManager/End process. I usually have dict and thesaurus open while writing, usually with second tab my browser is a still.
It's very annoying as it's also stuck on my screen for a while so I can't continue to work.
I really need that to work or I have to switch to a different browser!

Firefox keeps freezing in office, but not in other public/home network

Firefox keeps freezing starting from yesterday in my office wireless network. When it is opened, the browser screen does not show up, I have to right click on the icon in order to have the screen brought up. Search bar and tab functions respond real slow. However, everything works perfectly fine in public and my home network.
I'd really appreciate your input and help.

Firefox keeps freezing or I receive an error message that says 'unresponsive script' what can I do?

After a few minutes online Firefox either freezes or I receive and error message that says...'unresponsive script' I have tried resetting Firefox several times and I've run a scan on my laptop. I even run a 'system restore. Nothing seems to help. Is anyone else having this same problem???? The only way I have been to correct this is to reboot shutdown and restart.

ever since I updated to 3.6.10 firefox keeps freezing on me. Various things will freeze like pop ups on my message board will cause a freeze, or drop down menus on a page will freeze, or just about anything. It's making me miserable so I'd really like to go back to the old version. Everything was fine then. How can I do that.

Same thing was happening to me. I believe it was version 3.6.12 that is causing these problems. I went to oldapps.com and downloaded Firefox 3.5 and it got rid of the problem.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

That sounds like it might be a failure of the students to perform a Save As and check Archive Project when they do. This asks GB to pull all the files it needs into the associated .band document rather than point to them externally (and then risk not having them be there).

Seems to be something to do with a new security check they have put in the system that does not work correctly and support is totally incapable of helping me out.

I've been jumping through the hoops with Apple Support on this issue....first time I called they said I should try updating from IOS 4.0 to 4.1....tried that and the issue still persisted...then I called back to update the ticket and get the next steps...they said that the Bank is rejecting the request for verification and that is why it keeps prompting (which doesn't make sense since the confirmation seems to go through successfully). The rep also contacted the iTunes dept and had them run the verify manually and said the bank rejected it. The next hoop they want me to jump through is calling the bank to verify that the account is in good standing and inquire about the rejected requests. I'm fairly certain the bank account is in good standing....will verify of course....but I find it hard to believe that all the people who have posted here, plus countless others that are experiencing the same issue but haven't, are ALL having banking issues in the last 24hrs...I'm more convinced there is a disconnect on the back end between iTunes and Financial institutions...
I'm not sure I buy in to everything I was told...he also told me he has had several calls on this issue and they were all told to check with their banks. He could not verify that any of his past calls were resolved. Needless to say I'm not 100% believing everything he told me....weak response from Apple support on this issue so far.

The simplest way to transfer everything is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what issues you were having that led up to the attempted Erase All, and/or exactly what behavior you are seeing now (restarting, not responding at all, etc). If you are seeing an Apple Logo screen and your iPhone does not appear to be starting correctly, you may find the following articles helpful:

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
