* Try this.
* Type in the address bar about:config.
* Accept the warning.
* In the page that appears, in the Filter box, type network.http.max-connections.
* Change the value to 32 (which is probably set to 256 in your case).
* Close the about:config page.
* Restart the browser.

  • Why does Firefox keep hanging, crashing, sulking, dying when internet connection behaves?

    Why does Firefox keep hanging, crashing, sulking, dying when internet connection behaves? Once it renders the page it should forget about the page. Why does it behave when some link is clicked when there is no internet? It should just say internet not available or some crap. Why die, sulk, crash?? I don't get it! 3 series was much much much better!

    I should add, I've re-downloaded Firefox, but that doesn't look like it has helped any. Still get seemingly inexplicable crashes.

  • Firefox keeps hanging. I've tried the troublshoot. Error message is: AppHangXProcB1

    Firefox is hanging. It is appearing to hang randomly. Sometimes right away, sometimes with a video, and other times switching between pages.
    I have no extension for "switch proxy" and I adjusted my "run with" under properties and checked advanced settings.
    The error message upon view details is: AppHangXProcB1
    I desperately need help and surprised it hasn't stopped during this message.

  • Firefox keeps hanging up and freezing. I get this message. "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing--what a mess.

    No matter how many times I open and close, firefox hangs up after surfing a few pages. When I look at task master, firefox is using up hundreds of thousands of kb, causing the processor to stall at 100%. I do not have this problem when surfing with IE. I have the latest version of firefox. I never had this problem with version 5. It keeps getting worse with each "update".

    See [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
    Obviously firefox should not hang after surfing a few pages. I have Firefox installed on an XP including firefox 6.0.2 and do not have problems.

    Have a read of the above linked articles. The first thing to do is to try to get firefox to behave more normally
    #Use [[safe mode]]
    #* but do not make changes when you have the window with a list of options just click continue
    # if using safe mode does not solve the problem also
    #* make sure you use the default theme
    #* disable all pluggins
    Note by keying in ''about:memory'' into the location bar you will get a report, which includes more info as you roll the mouse pointer over items, that should help indicate where all the memory is being used.

  • After most recent update, Firefox keep hanging intermittently with "Not Responding".

    After the most recent update, my Firefox browser begins to hang intermittently with "Not Responding". I have checked the extensions and plug-in like Java, all of them are the latest updated ones. Everytime I open a new site or click on links to load another page, it happens. Every single time.

    '''is there a solution ''(temporary OR permanent)'' for this problem yet?'''
    i tried '''EVERY possible alternative'''; even when opened in ''''''safe mode'''''' or when installed for the first time w| '''NO addons or ANYthing else''' but the '''original default settings''', still does the same thing.
    mozilla people?? really?? no answer|feedback|suggestions, anything at all from u guys??
    if it isnt a version (browser, OS, addons, etc) issue, what is it that separates us from the users not having the problem?
    this is is very frustrating; h|e it's even more frustrating when there is no response from tech support. is it because there havent been enough people who have reported this same issue so there can be some interest & find a fix; OR is it that u dont know; OR that there is not & will not be any fix?
    we cant continue being users if we cannot use it. it's really my favorite browser, but if it doesn't work & u guys dont have a fix for it, then users w| this same problem wont have any other option but to switch to a different browser permanently.
    really mozilla??? nothing? a reply would be very nice...

    I did what you said but when I got to searchplugins the only extension I found was .xml.
    I did see yahoo.xml and deleted it. I'll have to restart Firefox to see if that did anything. And you must be right. My browser was recently hijacked and I only recently got it back to where I want it and then Yahoo started showing up. Would uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling do any good?

  • Firefox keeps hanging/freezes

    I've had Firefox for quite some time but then it started hanging, almost like it froze, the moment i accessed a webpage (note: it doesn't matter what page i access/close there is no change). now, I've tried looking around for solutions, and I've followed many of them without success.
    I've:
    *restarted the browser
    *run it in compatibility mode
    *disabled add-ons/extensions (sometimes both)
    *run it in safe mode
    *closed websites
    *disabled hardware acceleration
    *re-installation and clean re-installation
    nothing works
    the only thing that seems to actually work is disabling java script, would really help a lot if i got some help fixing this problem.

    ok, now i've tried creating a new profile, uninstalled firefox and removed the program folder and installed it again, did the same thing again except this time to the 32 bit folder, nothing seemed to work.

  • Loading websites is slow and firefox keeps hanging and nothing in the main help forum helps

    Sites like youtube are slow to load and firefox seems to hang alot.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Firefox keeps "hanging" and sometimes crashes on my macbook. I've updated and went into safe mode, same problem. What next?

    I updated to the most recent form of Firefox and that didn't work. Then I restarted in safe mode, that didn't work. What else should I try?

    Hello graceajaen, you can provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
    #Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
    #Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. (Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the ID's. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

  • Why does Firefox keep hanging unexpectedly?

    Hi,
    I'm running 6.0.2 (Windows 7 x86) and it's frequently locking up for no apparent reason...
    I've had this problem previously and at the time it was fixed by disabling hardware acceleration.
    This option is still deactivated but the issue has since returned!
    Help!
    Brian

    Why not ask in the iMovie forums of whichever version you are using?  It's where the experts hang out at.

  • Firefox keeps hanging with 11.3

    Firefox is currently unusable with the latest Flash version. When is this going to be fixed?

    To rule out Flash as a potential culprit, could you try one or both of the following:
    (1) Disable the Protected Mode feature of the Flash Player plugin.
    The following pages provide different ways to do that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    * Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209
    * Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078
    Flash needs to completely unload from memory (restarting Firefox might help) before this would take effect.
    (2) Set Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate").
    This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it, which will help distinguish Flash-generated issues from page load and layout issues.
    To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
    When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.

  • Firefox keeps hanging while trying to load facebook

    I have been using firefox on my laptop for over a year now and haven't had a problem until the other day. I have been reading through multipul articles trying to fix my problem but yet nothing has helped. It started the other day when all of a sudden firefox just crashed and closed. When re-launching it it would just freeze. After playing around with it I ended up just uninstaling it and then re-downloading it which seamed to fix the problem then. It worked fine until today. Out of nowhere when I would open firefox it would just freeze. Ive now narrowed it down to just freezing while trying to load my news feed on facebook. I have created a new profile, disabled all un-needed pluggins and addons and tweeked with firefox's settings to try and fix this but nothing has helped. ):
    also just as I was trying to recieve the troubleshooting information it froze aswell.

    Can someone please help? Haha, I'm sure there's a simple explanation to this.

  • Since downloading the Zynga toolbar FireFox keeps hanging on the start page!

    I downloaded the Zynga toolbar through Facebook using their app through one of their games so I believe it's legit BUT since downloading here's the rundown of my experience: #1--toolbar doesn't show at all, I try to find ways to get rid of the download since it's not working, can't find it, give up then magically the toolbar starts showing up; #2-toolbar is there when I load FF but shows only the burgundy w/white Zynga on the tool bar to the left and icons to the right but FF does NOTHING, can't click on anything, status bar on bottom says done but the progress bar is kind of reloading itself at the full marker, can't shut it down so have to power down and restart; #3-magically has the Zynga bar but says "Mafia Wars" drop menu with game options this time and actually works, this happens 1x; #4-same as #2 repeatedly but I find I can open a second FF browser and #3 works in that one BUT after shutting the 2nd FF browser I cannot close the first one without powering down. How do I fix this!!!!

    Uninstall that toolbar.

  • Hey guys, my firefox keeps hanging whenever i load a flash-played item. I've tried a lot of solutions but they all still do not solve the problem. Please help

    This started off only very recently, perhaps less than 1 month ago and it's already starting to bother me. I have tried reinstalling, using flash-switcher, downloading Flash-player(non-ie), and a few others. Please help me asap, thanks a dozen.

    Your More system details list shows that you have two Flash plugins installed.
    # Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53
    # Shockwave Flash 10.1 r102
    You need to remove the older Flash 10.1 r53 version.<br />
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_plugins#Identifying_installed_plugins
    You may have a problem with Out-Of-Process-Plugins.<br />

  • I work at an english university and I have set our Mac users to use network home folders, but Firefox keeps hanging when it is quit.

    Mac OSX 10.6.8 active directory network home folders

    Switched user back to the network home folder and adjusted the MS Word preferences so that the autorecovery files would be stored on the local client machine. There doesn't seem to be a comparable setting in the Excel preferences.
    My initial testing suggests that this has reduced how often this problem occurs, but has not eliminated it. I tested by repeatedly opening and closing a couple of different word files in rapid succession -- i was able to replicate the "file opens as read only" problem occasionally.
    I've talked to Apple server support about this issue. While they were helpful, they didn't have an explanation or solution for this problem. There are a number of postings in the microsoft mactopia discussion boards site where people report similar problems.
