Firefox memorizes tabs opened when I initiated a close group, exiting out of Firefox to avoid spam websites from downloading onto my computer; why is Firefox re-opening all the tabs I purposely closed down?
On the occasion I search Google.com for images/wallpapers etc while opening multiple tabs, keeping the original page. Seldom the website crashes, causing all my tabs to close, while Firefox restores the websites opened. When this happens, I do appreciate Firefox restoring my lost tabs. However, when I initiate closing the browser, I do NOT wish for Firefox to restore the closed browser. I purposely closed the browser, either the website freezes, or there's spam occurring on that website, or an attempt to download a virus through the 3rd party's website, therefore I choose to shut down the browser in order to start new. When unwanted events like this occurs, I do NOT want Firefox to remember my last browsing history and restore such tabs. It's rather a nuisance and unwanted on Firefox's part. I do not know how to resolve this matter since I'm only a beginner with setting up Privacy settings etc, so please enlighten me.
Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox (Tools) > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.

Why can't i see all the tabs in itunes store??
Hello. I am from Romania and I recently got an ipod nano 5th gen so i am very new at this.At first i used it on a different computer and everything was fine, then when i got home to my computer i noticed that i can't find the music, movies, podcast etc tabs in the iTunes store. It's really frustrating.I uninstalled the iTunes and installed it again but there was no change.I can only see "application store" and "itunes u".I can't find music, podcasts or anything else besides aplications and games. If i click on "home" it shows me the same thing. If I go on the Library section and click on Podacats,I can choose to click "Browse podcasts in the iTunes store".I click that and it shows me the exact same thing.By searching directly it's the same. What is wrong here? Please help. Thanks a lot
really??
Yes, really, I'm sorry to say.
is there anything i can do about it??maybe create another account?
Sorry, but there is nothing you can do about it. There's no place where you could create "another account" that would give you any greater access to media. The content owners do not allow cross-border sales, so you cannot open an account in another country's iTunes Store. So until such time as Apple is able to obtain the necessary licensing and decides that it's practical to open an iTunes Store on your country, I'm afraid that you will not be able to purchase music, videos, or movies from an iTunes Store.
There is only one possibility for you: if what you're looking for are only podcasts, you may be able to find the podcast you want directly from a web site. Apple doesn't host the podcasts, they only link to them, so the podcast you want may be available from another source. You'll have to do a web search and see if the podcast turns up.

I use Firefox 3.6.2 on a 2009 MAC Pro using OSX 10.6.5.
Before upgrading to Firefox 3.6 I was able to configure Firefox 3.5 to reopen all the tabs which had been closed during exiting Firefox prior to reopening it.
I am unable to configure Firefox 3.6 to do the same.
Now, when I open Firefox it always opens with one tab with my homepage. It would be much more convenient for me to have all the tabs which had been opened to reopen. When I change a plug-in in order to the change to take effect I have to exit and reopen Firefox, thus losing all the open tabs.If you use [[Clear Recent History]] in Firefox 3.5 and later to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox then restoring tabs from the last session ("Save & Quit" or "Show my windows and tabs from last time") doesn't work.

A second web browser opens when I initially open firefox.
a second web browser opens when I initially open firefox. This also happens in Aurora.
I am not sure what it is that you are seeing. Is it possible that Firefox is opening two windows?
If you have two Firefox windows open and close down Firefox, and have your preferences set to open as it was previously then it will open two windows.
You mention Firefox and Aurora. Do you have both of these installed on the same computer ? If so it would be a good idea to use separate unique profiles for each.

For reasons that are unclear to me I sometimes close Firefox and later re-open it. In some cases ALL the tabs and tab groups are gone. Today it opened in MSN.com and ALL tabs were gone. I put a lot of pages on these and have NO WAY to find them all again. If this continues and you cannot give me a way to recall them I simply will have to go to another browser. It always happens when I need them most and don't have time to even track down one. It completely upsets my day, week, month whatever!!!.
Is there a way to get them back? Someone asked a similar question and was never given a useful answer.I've begun having this problem as well. Reviewing the above, I seen no errors that I' making. A few weeks ago, without being aware of an update to Firefox, it began behaving differently than it has for years. I've always had it set to open to an empty tab, now it often opens to the 'Firefox Home Page' (which I've never used)... this despite resetting my opening page to "Show my windows and tabs from last time" (upon troubleshooting the 'home page issue' I found that the opening page had reset to FF Home somehow. I store a lot of pages in tab groups and having them disappear is a major bummer since they're news articles I'm waiting to copy.
Also... I run CCleaner weekly and I know that will erase the group tabs I've stored so before running it I have to store those URL's another way. Does anyone know what I can uncheck in CCleaner to keep those tabs?
Thanks. -

when two or more tabs are opened after this when I click on another tab which is opened then firefox stopped responding and open automatically all the tabs in different windowsIf it works in a new window then you can drags tabs from the not working window to that new window.
You can also try to close the tabs via Ctrl+W and restore the closed tabs via Shift+Ctrl+T -
When I lauch Safari (5.1 in 10.7) I want it to open to either an empty page or a designated homepage - but istead it opens all the tabs that were open when I quit Safari. How do i stop this, I cant find any preference to achieve this and see nothing in help. Any help?
Hi James - Thanks for the info! This has been bugging me, too. I'm going to uncheck the Restore Windows box. Agree with you that it should be app specific, tho. I like opening to the last page I was working on in pages and numbers. Hope it doesn't change that!

When using Tab Groups, is less power/memory used or is it the same as when all the tabs are opened in the task bar?
it's just another View for your tabs which needs less *space* in the taskbar, but same *memory* of your computer.
exception: if you (re)start FF and restore the last session (with lots of tabs/groups) there is an option in FF-Settings to load the (content of the) tabs only as soon as they are clicked, and not as soon as FF starts. That trick saves memory. -

Can I set up a new window to open without all the tabs from the current window opwning?
I have a new computer at work with what must be a new version of firefox. I use multiple windows to do my job. When I open a new window, all the tabs from the current window open in the new one. I am wondering how to configure a new window to open with either a blank page or just my homepage?
I restarted Firefox and changed the homepage settings a to a different choice and back to the desired page then restarted Firefox again. This eliminated all the initial tabs from opening from opening in the new window. I am not sure how all the pages were cached or what I should have done but I no longer have this issue.

our browser closes on its own unexpectedly, all the tabs and everything closes down (esp when playing games in facebook), we have to start everything afresh, just worried if this is not a sign of crash because we haven't received any crash report and if so how can we prevent any further damage.

How do I stop all the tabs from closing at once in Safari v 6.0.3?
How do I stop all the tabs from closing at once in Safari v 6.0.3?
Activate cycle mode, adjust cycle area as needed and export tracks as audio files, no?
http://help.apple.com/logicpro/mac/10/#lgcp8e5ce2d3
Or cut globally at position 2min and 3min, then mute manually regions before and after the 2 - 3 minute range, bounce and get rid of the not needed silence in the audio.

Hello chrispyw,
If your content is still being displayed incorrectly, I would check the resolution setting for the built in display with this article:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
If it keeps happening whenever you use AirPlay then I would use this section of the following article to reset the display system:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

In all the tabs written the same thing
In all the tabs written the same thing
it says: "התחברות..."
i try to reinstall firefox but the problem staysGoogle translates that "התחברות" text to "Login"
Is that correct or is it something else?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

iPhoto crashed. When reopened, 70+ some events were grayed out (no photos). Restored iPhoto library from Time Machine, fewer grayed events. Said yes to a msg on fixing library, 3000 more photos. Still wrong. What next to do?
Do you still have the library that you were using when the crash occurred? If so apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
