Firefox suddenly began asking if I wanted to close all tabs when I closed it, and although my setting is set to "Show my Windows and Tabs from last time" I open up to Google instead of my old tabs. Any solutions?
I can still recover my old tabs by going History> Recently Closed Windows but I'm worried about when I restart my computer.
Edit: While trying a reinstall I found out there was another firefox "running" even though it didn't show up in my taskbar. I went into task manager and ended the process. When I next opened firefox three windows opened up to the start page but froze (nothing but a white screen). After closing those from the task manager and trying again I got the "Well this is embarrassing" message and could no longer restore my old tabs. (I'd bookmarked them expecting this to happen eventually) For now everything seems to be back to normal, but this is still a pretty worrisome problem.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
*You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
*To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
* Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

Sometimes I, by accident, click on the X and close out ALL of my tabs that were open. A box used to come up asking "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CLOSE ALL TABS?" Now, it just closes them all and I lose all my tabs that I had open. Is there a way to fix that?
You can set the warn prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page to <b>true</b> via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.

Apparently the only way to bookmark all tabs now is to use some clunky key combination. Why have you made it more difficult to use?
I have given all the details that I know how to give. I can find no place that I can check a box or otherwise tell Firefox to bookmark all open tabs under the same new bookmark folder entry.Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows.<br />
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.
Another possibility is to use:
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox/Tools > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time" -
Please can someone tell how to fix the problem I have with firefox on a mac OS. When firefox opens it comes up with an error message " well this is embarrassing...." and continues to ask if I want to close or restore the tabs that are open.
Does anyone have a simple fix?
Thank you
BeamerHello Beamer, you must update to latest (21.0) version, the bug it is fixed in firefox 21!

How can I stop from closing all tabs. When it says do you want to close 2 tabs...what if I only want to close one?
My workaround for this is to set up a smart playlist. I hope this is another one of the issues that gets cleard up when Apple eventually releases an 11.1.1 update.

This happened very suddenly. I have gone through Preferences carefully twice, checking all settings. Safari is not giving me similar problems so I assume the problem is with Firefox.
Running an iMac with OS X, 10.5.8You can reset the warn prefs on the about:config page via the right-click context menu.
browser.tabs.warnOnClose , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aconfig_entries
browser.warnOnQuit , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnQuit
browser.warnOnRestart , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnRestart
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br /> -
I can not click 'close tabs' i cannot click 'cancel' and i cannot even see the 'Help' option at the top of the screen. Its just a black screen, the 'close tabs' pop up and the Mac apple on the top bar of the computer that also says firefox but none of the other options are there. (File Edit View History etc. etc...)
Also i can't force the app to quit and the computer says it can't restart or shut down until the app is closed.https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20hangs#w_hang-at-exit

I think I found the refresh. What about keeping my tabs when I exit?
That was really helpful. Thanks.

I keep closing down all my open tabs instead of just the one I am on. Can I set up a prompt to ask me if I am sure this is what I want to do?
It's a MacBook Air. Not an Apple Air. We already know it's an Apple product. And no, there isn't any way. But if you would like a warning, you can download a browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Panels Accordion - want to close all panels when navigate away
Hi complete Newbie, so apologies if answered already or a no brainer. Using panel accordion and love the effect. However, have placed a link to another page within one of the sections. Works fine except when new page loaded, panel section is still in 'open' state. Is it possible to get accordion to collapse when mouse rolls out of panel or a link within it is clicked?
Thanks in anticipation.
JoeHi Joe,
I believe you have placed the accordion panel on the master page, on the master page please select options for the accordion panel and select can close all: http://prntscr.com/3ofqgx
Once you have added the link to the section in accordion panel, please make sure all the sections are closed.
Doing this will load the target page but as the master page has the accordion closed, it will be rendered on the page as closed.

Closing one of the opening windows tries to close all tabs on another window
I opened two windows, one with multiple tabs and another is no tab, when closing a window with no tab, a prompt window appears and ask if I want to close all tabs on another window. Prompt window appeared twice. Is this a bug?
I also had this issue and disabling the Awesome Screenshot add-on fixed it for me too. Its not doing it anymore after disabling that plugin. Thanks for the tip!!!

Closing separate window prompts "close all tabs" menu
two instantiations repeatedly prompt the "close all X tabs?" menu:
(1) opening a separate window for a particular web session and closing upon finishing (wanting to return to main multi-tabbed session);
(2) selection of options from a particular pages menu (opens separate mini-window for choice) triggers proper select action, but also asks if one wants to "close all X tabs"Hit CTRL+W to close individual tabs.

After updating to Firefox 6, the option in the Options-> General section to "Show my windows and tabs form last time" is grayed out and will not allow me to set it. If I go to the Firefox homepage, the option does not appear, nor does it appear if I go under the History or Firefox tab.
I tried to follow the directions on this website on the Session Restore page, but that seems out of date or just not helping.
I even went to the about:config (about:session restore does not work) and there was nothing I saw that would workFirefox 6 seems to change your settings in Tools Options Privacy to "Never remember history". Once you change this to "Remember history" it will restore your previous session, as long as the setting in Tools Options General Startup is set to "Show my windows and tabls from last time"
Bad idea Mozilla - installing 6 should pick up your settings from 5. This problem will confuse many users. -
Question
The latest version of Firefox no longer asks if you want to save open tabs for your next session..I HATE not having that option. What were they thinking? (I think this is self explanatory)Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />
<br />
Another possibility is to use:
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox (Tools) > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time" -
This seems to have happened since I installed Firefox 4. I checked all the relevant items that I could under "tabs" folder in "options." There was no option for asking to save tabs.
